[Q] Touchscreen unresponisve - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi, model # GTP7510MA that I purchase from Best Buy about four months ago. In the last few days the touch screen has become progressively worse as far as being able to do anything with it. I have done a complete reset and wiped everything and have gone back to the stock rom. After the inital boot up with all stock settings it seemed to work but after a couple of minutes the touchscreen becomes unresponsive. You cant do anything, touch anything, etc. If I hit the power button sometimes the screen will work for a few seconds, but eventually it ignores all inputs again. I have seen a few threads that seem related but none have helped me so far. I have tried rotating the screen when this happens, and even set wi-fi to never sleep. This doesnt do anything for me. All the hardware buttons still work when the screen becomes unresponsive, but again no input from the screen itself. Hopefully someone has some help for me, or I guess I will have to contact Samsung to see if they will cover this under warranty. Thanks for your help.

I have gone through troubleshooting with Samsung tech support, they told me to send it in for warranty repair. Only problem now is Samsungs website is kind of glitchy, i get to the last page of submitting my report to send it in and their pages just locks up and I can't complete the procedure. I have tried numerous times now. I will give a few days and try again. This is really frustrating.

Follow up
Just to follow up, I finally got a return ticket worked up to send the unit back to Samsung. They said it needed a new screen/digitizer. They replaced it and sent it back to me free of charge, all in about 4 days from door to door. The Tab works great now, glad it was still under warranty.

Serious issue...

Hi there; Could do with some help please I seem to have a series issue with my Samsung Galaxy S2 today. It started this morning; I noticed the screen was randomly turning on; for no reason what so ever. It only does it when the phone isn't charging, if the data cable or the charger is plugged in; it doesn't do it.
Its on version KE7. I have tried a factory reset, and that hasn't sorted the issue. Therefore I seemed to think it was a hardware fault, however with it not being an issue when plugged in I wondered why it might be doing it.
Tap to speak also kept coming up for no apparent reason, I say kept coming up, doesn't happen all the time, but did come up about 6 times today, when I hadn't pressed anything, which would suggest the bottom centre button could be stuck or sticky, however that seems fine; and its not been near any moisture and has been a hot day.
The phone has not ever been rooted; so no issues there.
The phone battery dies very quickly within about 4 hours with the screen turning on all the time; and the phone will randomly freeze up completely, and I have to remove the battery to reset the phone.
Anybody got any ideas? Really could do with some help
Thanks
Rich
Update: It is plugged in charging now; and the MTP Application has come up; like the data cable is plugged in. That seems very odd to me...
Don't be afraid to send it back. These things aren't cheap even if you're paying through your contact, you're entitled to get what you paid for.
Your specific issues may be down to more than one thing. My screen lights up when I've read my gmail on a different device and it needs to clear the notification. Nothing too worrying about that. The other stuff does sound like some sort of shorting though and people have been given replacements for less serious issues.
I'm tempted to get mine swapped because the wifi often won't pick up an IP address and the gps won't get a fix if the phone gets too hot. Relatively minor compared to your issues.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Yeah I think its going to have to, I've tried playing about with settings, giving it time to cool down; pretty much everything I can think of, I really can't think what it could be, it seems to be many issues rather than just one, with it only being a month old, I expected slightly more.
Love the phone, did brilliantly yesterday; used it for lots of things; then today it just suddenly went, took it of charge, and it played up the whole way through.
Given up with it now, will take it back and see if I can get it fixed, I have 24 month warrenty with my contract.
Thanks
Put your original firmware back on if you can before attempting a warranty claim .

[Q] S2 suddenly goes off

Hi.
I have a GS2 just updated to 4.0.3 but I have the same problem I had with 3.2.x.
I leave the phone with any battery status form 98% to 30%, when I push the home button to wake it up nothing happens. Nothing with volume or power. I have to keep the power button pressed for 10-15 seconds to boot it up.
Any idea about what could be?
Thanks in advance.
had the same problem. It started about half a year ago and went worse and worse, until it happened almost every day.
I sent it to Samsung and they said 'They found and repaired the problem' but it was still there. Then I had the device replaced (by amazon) and since then...everything fine. So it probably was hardware related to a certain extend. I tried killing some apps that could cause it, which seemed to let it happen less often before i replaced it, but it still did happen. Things like tasker and stuff.
Thanks.
I'm afraid you're right and I should bring the phone back to the reseller.
Re-sellers ans techs
I had to take my GS II to the Samsung Techs ans they were very worried about the customer, if the product is working properly etc.
I think it worth the visit.

Returns

Has anyone had to return their Moto 360 yet? Mine stopped responding to touch on the bottom 1/3 of the screen near the beginning of this week. I had a pattern lock set up and couldn't get past it as the bottom was unresponsive. After a few attempts the factory reset screen came up but the accept button was on the bottom. After a few minutes of tapping it finally recognize one and performed a factory reset. Upon reboot the bottom was still unresponsive.
I called Moto support and they are sending me a new one. They offered to have me send in my current one first and then send me a new one, or put a $99 hold on my credit card and pay $24.99 for shipping. I went for the latter and a new one will be shopping soon.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had screen issues and how wide spread it is. Also has anyone had any issues with returns?
Anyone?
None here... Yet!
I was in a meeting 2 weeks ago and checked the time and my whole screen was unresponsive, just a black screen even with always on mode enabled. I tried for like 20 minutes to get it to respond to touch and nothing. I got home and thought the battery might be dead even though I only had it on for 10 hours so I put it in it's charging craddle and still nothing. I went to get my phone to check bluetooth and it said watch was connected, checked android wear and it said connected too. Went back to get the watch and it was now on and showing 50% battery. This was 2 weeks ago and haven't had the problem re-occur. I paid for the extended warranty plan so not to concerned right now, and as I already scratched the screen I will most likely replace it anyways.

My 360 did get a little sluggish at times and froze a couple of times prior to the final issues I had with the bottom. I also had a message on occasion saying android wear had stopped and would eventually restart. When I had a freeze holding down the power button will eventually do a restart. All of those issues I attributed to buggy software that I hope gets solved in future updates. My final issue involving the bottom portion being unresponsive persisted after a factory reset.

I never had an issue with it before this happened. And holding the button down didn't do anything for for me, it still remained off even after holding it for over a minute. It just came back on all on its own for whatever reason and luckily hasn't happened again.
Well this isn't looking good. Spent two hours on the phone with Motorola support and was transferred about seven times before someone could figure out what happened to my RMA. I did finally get someone to help me but she had to start the whole process over. My credit card was refunded for the hold and shipping fee and the new one is now supposed to be "rushed".
Just an update
At this point I have spoken to over a dozen reps(I lost count), was transferred back and forth between several departments, was hung up on several times(I even switched phones to make sure it wasn't on my end), and spent countless hours trying to get this resolved. I've never had such horrible customer service. Finally yesterday I received an email with a working promo code for a new watch using the moto-maker site and am crossing my fingers I'll have a new one soon.
Sorry for the rant, I actually started this thread to see how many had any hardware problems, not to complain about Moto support. I was actually hopeful about the whole thing as there wasn't much response to my original inquiry here, but this last week has really turned me off of Motorola.
Update: New 360 arrived today.
My Moto's touch stopped working yesterday. It started with "phantom touches", where the display lighted up as if I touched it. When I actually touched the display, it was partially unresponsive. When I tried swiping, the menus stuck in between and were shaking horizontally. I could hard-reset the watch by pressing the button for 30 seconds. After that, the watch was working fine for a few minutes, then the trouble started all over again. Today, it got even worse as the display did not react on any touches any more...
I was able to reset it to factory settings, but it didn't help, so it does not seem to be a software issue.
Luckily I had ordered it at Amazon a few weeks ago, so I am getting a new watch as replacement. I hope I just had bad luck with that watch, and it's not a general issue.

That's what I am hoping as you and I are the only ones responding with problems so far. As you can see from my other posts I don't think Motorola even knew how to handle a return for one of these. Amazon should be a much more pleasant experience in that regard.
Did you get any type of additional warranty from Amazon?

No... I made the experience that Amazon Germany often just sends out a replacement when an article is defective a few days after delivery. They never fail to impress me with their customer service...
Going through this a second time really sucks. Last week my watch was on the charger all night and by morning the screen had a cyan dot that was dark in the middle and faded to black near the edge of the face. I tried holding down the side button to reset it but it still booted up to the cyan dot.
I started the process last Friday and got a promo code for a new watch. Used the promo code on the Moto Maker website and got the process going. At the end I hit the place order button and I get an error message telling me to call support. Ugh. I didn't have time to deal with it then, but my shopping cart was still showing the watch in it and that there was an order placed. I called today and at first the woman helping me couldn't find anything using the RMA # or the order number I had. When she finally figured out what happened she said the order didn't go through and my promo code was still good. She then tried to blame the error on my web browser.
I have seen news floating around there is currently a lawsuit against Lenovo\Motorola for failure to fulfill their warranties. Is it okay to post information and links on xda concerning the lawsuit for anyone who might be interested?

Many problems with this phone! Need suggestions!

Hi there,
My girlfriend bought refurbished S6 Edge (from ebay seller) 3 months ago and everything seemed fine for some time. To make this story short, I will skip some details .
After 2 months of use back cover started to detach from the phone. We guessed that problem was in faulty battery and contacted seller immediately, but he never responded. In his ad it was stated that phone comes with 2 year warranty. Then we contacted Samsung and they arranged free shipping to their official service partner.
After almost one more month of waiting, they finally opened it and found out that battery was damaged but someone was already trying to fix that damage before with some tape. They refused to repair it and it was just returned to us as it is.
I was thinking to order a new battery and change it myself, but as it turned out phone now has other problems which were not there before.
- capacitive buttons are not lighting up no matter what (tried everything). Back button only blinks once when booting up.
- adaptive brightness is not working no matter what (it is always on full brightness)
- screen turns off as soon as she presses "call" button
This all looks like problem with proximity and light sensors, but they all seem to work in *#0*# menu, so really not sure what to do.
We already filed a dispute with PayPal, but I guess not much help will come from that. Any suggestion what can we do here?
Thanks!
Sorry man, but it sounds like you're kinda SOL. I would honestly just try selling it as-is before the S7 Edge comes out. That really sucks though.

Htc one e9s touchscreen not working properly

From yesterday my phone's touchscreen isn't working properly i.e. if I tap continuously then after 3-5 seconds it works, the taps after that keep working for similar time, and then again the taps don't respond. This is happening the whole day and I don't know what to do.
I've reset the phone, done as many things as I could find to resolve, but nothing's helping. Nothing happened with the phone till now, not even in the past few days before this the phone fell in water or had a drop or something. If there's some screen replacement etc to be done by service centre then it'll be a huge cost for me, I want to avoid that, please help.
