Root Verizon variant with a mac??? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!!!
As the title implies, I want to root my s3! However I only have a MacBook pro to try it with. Anyone have a step by step on a successful way to root it! I need every detail about it. Will you point me in the right direction if not to completely help me??? I have been looking at rootgalaxy'siii.com but I believe that it's just specifically for the t mobile variant... please help!

3. Go **** yourself! Stop being a ****ing troll!

Oh ya, sorry, go **** yourself and stop being a ****ing troll. Goodbye.

I'm the troll??? Really? DI'd you read you original reply to my post? Pretty sure that makes you a troll ass!
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

You're the person who can't post in the right forum for their device, I was merely pointing out what someone else would have pointed out had I not done so.
Do you find it difficult to post in the Verizon forum? Are you some sort of rebel who is trying to fight the system?
If the answer to those questions is no then go to the Verizon forums like a good little boy and have a nice day!

Noobs trying to root their devices and install ICS

Hi I thought this might be helpful for other noobs such as myself. I would like to safely install Ice Cream Sandwich on my Skyrocket and possibly install a new rom through rooting the device. I have read the instructions on the various forums and I am very confused to say the least. Any help is appreciated!

No.. HE has it all wrong. We are in the right forum, he is not. And if you haven't gathered this by now... if you go asking questions in the wrong forum on XDA and don't acknowledge it... then you get roasted.

I've talked to the dev and he said that he could port it for us with no problem. Now that bad news.... He doesn't currently own an i717 so he will need testers. I told him i was available to test. Of you all are interested as well let me know.

Its called a "bounty thread"...and to achieve this its best to have someone with alot of time here and very high thanks record..This has more creditable then someone who dosent have any at all...And the user collects donations from everyone and is responsible for the donation getting to the dev once a specific rom lands to the users..or simply wants to get a device for a certain developer.
Bump!

Thanks for the info wish! So who would be a good "BOUNTY HUNTER"? Any input would be welcome. Tia!

That's not going to happen I don't think. Or else it would have been done already. Just flash base .7. You will be cool. If you must do it. Other than irc I don't know what to say

Sensless Rule?

Hi,
I need 10 posts to report a bug in dev section, this seems for me pretty sensless >_>?
Instead of complaining about the initial posts you need to post outside of general, you could always create a thread in general explaining the bug and somebody else could report it for you. Alternatively, you can also pm the dev of the software you have a bug on.

How exactly is it unfair? It helps to prevent trolling. Sorry if you don't like it. Nobody is forcing you to be an xda member.

I'm not angry, I just think it's a stupid thing to complain about. I don't think the requirement is over the top.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
Could be over the top for you but think if someone is stuck badly and needs to ask for help from a particular ROM's users then he will have to make 10 posts and that too after time intervals. In most cases his first ten posts would be useless just to bypass that restriction.

Why could this person not pm the dev directly?
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk
Because developer alone cannot solve everyone's problems and pm are not liked by all the developers. A problem can be better solved by community together rather than a single developer who may or may not read the pm for days whereas atleast few members on thread will in some hours.
Sent from my LT26ii using xda app-developers app
I find most devs to be pretty responsive, and I doubt the rule will ever change because it does more good than bad. At least you must be quite a bit closer to your 10 posts thanks to this thread.
