S2 I777 Won't Boot Rom, Won't Boot Recovery, Won't Boot Downloader HELP! - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I charged my phone all night last night.
I woke up, phone was fine. Set it down on the couch, came back to it noticing beeping every 5 seconds or so, as if it was being plugged in and then unplugged repeadidly.
I also noticed that my phone though it was charging, even though there wasn't anything charging it.
Wiped Battery Stats - Still Funky
Cleaned usb port/ battery with nail polish remover - Still Funky
Updated ROM (newest ShoStock)
Phone would not get past the 'GALAXY s2' Black Screen.
No big deal right?
But now I can't load CWM from the internal memory AND I can't boot it from an SD card. It won't do anything besides give the black Samsung 'GALAXY s2" screen!!!!
When it is plugged in it won't even give me the Samsung screen, it just has a frozen charging screen on it.
HELP!? :crying:

Your title says "won't boot download" but what exactly did you do to try to enter download mode?

I forgot which it is
Vol Up + Power + Home (<--I think it's this one)
or
Vol Down + Power + Home
I've done them both.

Do you have AT&T SGSII, SGH-I777?
If so, then download mode is:
With phone off, hold vol- and vol+ (but not power) while plugging in the usb cable.

I followed your guide that I found elsewhere.
You are a god, my friend.
Thanks again (if my phone still has probs, at least I can send it back)
PEACE! :good:

Next time, maybe a bit of reading and searching would benefit you greatly. I'm not saying it to be rude, but it's what I and some others did and it really does help to have patience, not freak and post right away and just take a breath and search.

help phone, yellow triangle and computer pic

I was putting the new update on and Odin was doing its thing. it went black now I got the stupid screen of a phone pic a yellow triangle and a computer. I know my phone is hardware locked what can I do? I rooted it with the one click root but no rom was installed.
Do you have adb running? You do know there was a fix for hardware locked vibrants, right?
If you have adb running & your phone can be seen by your pc it might be possible to get the sbl file pushed in to flash. Not sure it would work this way but it might be worth a shot. Not to sure what commands you would need either.

I did search and search on hardware locked and bricked phones. My first post was about all I see is the phone, yellow triangle and the computer icons. I pulled the battery hold the volume up and down both put the battery in plugged in the usb cord and It goes right to the symbols of the phone, yellow triangle and the computer. Odin does not see my phone sorry but I have studied for hours how to root and do several things to my vibrant by myself. This has me stumped and looking for help.

Nothing. The 3-button fix should have been applied prior to flashing anything! You need a new phone, unless somehow, magically, after searching these forums and trying the (at least) 20+ ways people claim to get into download mode work.
None have worked on mine.
im not asking if ODIN can see your phone. I was asking if ADB sees your phone...
Do you have ADB setup? if so, what happens when you type:
adb remount
If you do have adb setup and nothing happens then you are in the same boat as southplatte.
get the samsung captivate back to download mode
I have similar problem like that. When i use Odin3 one click flash the ROM. It stuck in the middle of flash. I take off the usb cable out ,try to reboot the phone. Oop .. the screen show the sign of the phone--- yellow triangle with exclamation sign in the middle---computer icon. Can do nothing with it, because the computer now can not connect with the phone.
In my case, I take the USB off the phone but still connect with the computer. Hold the volume button + power until the phone flash in black screen .This moment happen very quick ,it will go back to the unconnected sign again. When the screen turn black just release power button but still press volume button (otherwise it not working) hook the USB back in your phone right on that moment. The Phone go back to download mode. If not work try couple time ,important is timing right on the moment the flash to black screen .
Now ,you can use the odin3 flash the ROM again. It works for me ,and i try again same situation couple times. it really works.
hopefully, this will help for who got the same problem.

Dharra, youre in the wrong forum altogether
OP, try a jig. If that doesnt get you into download.mode, listen very carefully: youre ****ed.
Your only remaining options will be to send it to someone with a riff box (pm connexions2005 or go to mobiletechvideos.com) or do the unbrickable mod and run the unbricking app.
If you do fix your phone, do the hw lock fix right ****ing away!!

Can you get adb to work?
I had the same thing happen earlier, I was flashing back a stock ROM in Odin, which I have done before, and this time it was doing the cache files and the phone went black and removed from Odin, now this PC-Computer icon is up. Holding down the power-button just blanks for a second then puts back to the phone-pc screen, my phone was hardware locked so the power+volumes does nothing, and the computer won't recognize the phone in adb.

Ok guys! here you go.... If you feel like you semi-bricked your phone and cannot boot into download mode.. there is a trick that might work for some or it might not doesn't hurt to try, but damn sure worked for me... Make sure phone is connected to computer with ODIN Opened,..
1. Unplug your phone from usb
2. Take out battery (and mini sd and sim)
3. Plug usb back into phone.
4. Hold down up and down volume keys while putting battery back into the phone. IT SHOULD BOOT INTO DOWNLOAD MODE. if not sorry. Sometimes when people flash back and forth the up and down volume keys get reversed... so try volume down and power.. or volume up and power. GOOD LUCK!!!

No luck, currently going through a relentless trial-error process of different usb-battery-sim/sd-volume-power buttons. Just found out insurance which I thought was covered on my phone via Asurion through T-Mobile is only covering one of the phones on my line, yet I bought them both with warranties at the same time... Pretty bummed, Only is looking like paying the deductable fee for a new phone as if lost/stolen.. Hope something pulls through.
Just a small deviation
1. Take out the battery
2. Plug the USB into the phone
3. Plug USB into the PC
4. Hold down the Volume up/down + Power button with one hand
5. Put the battery back in with the other hand
6. Wait for the phone2pc icon to flash 2 times and on the second time when the screen goes black release only the POWER BUTTON
7. When you see the digging Android you can let go of the Volume buttons
That is the only way I could get it to work

[Q] Super-Bricked Vibrant, Help?

I know many different threads are already available on this topic, but I think mine is severe. Obviously my Vibrant is bricked, and yes, I have done many different things to attempt to fix it.
If I am missing anything, please let me know.
=====================================================
-The phone is not recognized whatsoever by USB on an apple computer or any variety of windows computers, rendering any advice using Odin and ADB useless.
-The phone will not go past the vibrant screen, but makes the sound like it is attempting to the Galaxy S animation. However, it never displays this animation.
-The phone can enter recovery mode, but not download mode.
-I have tried clearing all data and I have also tried "Reinstalling packages", but it does not do anything.
-The phone will not go into download mode by connecting it to the PC (XP 32 bit) while holding vol. up and down at the same time.
-When the phone is plugged into the wall, the battery charge image displays on the screen, but any combination of buttons do not work.
-I have all current Samsung drivers, as well as the Kies software on my computer.
=====================================================
I think I should make or purchase the "USB Dongle" which allows the phone to go into download mode via Hardware.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thank you for any and all help.
You are still ok
1) power phone down
2) pull battery out
3) hold volume up + down
4) while holding Volume up + down , put battery back in
5) still holding volume up + down plug usb cable into the phone
Option2:
Power off, hold vol+ and vol-, plug in USB.

[Hint] Empty battery / flashing

Hey guys,
Just a small advice for those who didn't know.
If you want to flash another rom and you got a "battery low" in bootloader/ fastboot AP, don't be panic: make sure you've booted your device in fastboot mode. Then just press the power button shortly and the device will shut down completely. Now you can charge your device without any factory cable. You will also get the loading Stats displayed.
This works on bootloader version 0A.72 onwards

New Method?
spc_hicks09 From DroirRzr.com posted this. I'm trying it now, Will let you know how it goes.
Press and hold power and volume down until the screen flickers, release those buttons and quickly press all three side buttons (power, vol up and vol down). When the bootloader menu pops up, plug in the charger. Use the volume down button to scroll to the SBF option and use volume up to select it. Now press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds then release. This will automatically put your phone in the "powered down/charging" mode. Wait till the battery charges all the way then complete a fastboot. I just did this 3 days ago so I know it works.

[Q] Phone loops at AT&T drop screen, can't enter download mode [Resolved]

I was using this topic to try to fix my phone from an earlier issue
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286432
I accidentally flashed a CM9 from the i19100 instead of the i777, and when I tried to flash the Siyeah kernal, the phone stopped working. I used the topic I mentioned above and tried to use Odin to flash back to fix it, and now the phone just loops in the AT&T logo if it's not plugged in to the USB, and just flashes the batter icon at me if it is plugged while I try to enter download mode.
I cannot find a solution for this. I tried the Vol Up+Down+Power, which didn't work, and since I can't get it to turn on, nothing else will work. I have no idea how to proceed.
EDIT: Fixed by getting into download mode by holding Vol Down + Power, instead of the three button trick. Might come in handy for others. I had the boot loop on the AT&T splash screen that seems to require a jig most of the time.

Cant enter download mode while USB is plugged in.
try Vol up, Vol down. Insert USB.
And if that works, next time, try searching more.
Flashing a CM9 from i9100 will not brick your phone, hell it should boot still. but get d/l mode and back to a i777 kernal, then recovery, and flash ROM. i777 ROM

It booted, but was giving me a Status 7 error when I tried to flash a nightly (because I didn't realize I had flashed a i9100 rom at the time, figured that out after some searching) so I decided to just use Odin to flash back stock.
And, no luck on the Vol Up+Down then plugging in. Tried with battery and without. With batter, just shows the charged batter screen like it did before. Without battery it just flashes the grey battery icon over and over.
I had a similar issue. to get to download mode use Vol up+down+power with the USB cable plugged in. make sure you hold them down until the download mode appears.

Odin still recognizes my phone when I turn it on. If I unplug it, turn it on, then plug it back in, Odin will recognize the phone, though I can't actually enter download mode.

Do you have recovery? do a factory reset inside recovery?
But you got bigger problem if you cant get into download mode. you sure your doing it right? sorry have to ask.
Vol up Vol down, hold both those while inserting USB, hold untill screen pops up.
Or a Jig.
No, no recovery. Splash screen and batter screen. Those are the only things I get to see.
I looked at the jig, but I don't have the supplies to make it off hand (no soldering iron), and no one I could find seemed to have as many problems with this as I was. Most of them just couldn't get into download mode and weren't having looping issues.

Yeah, I guess there's no other solutions. I thought maybe there was just something I couldn't find. I ordered a jig from amazon with overnight shipping. Hopefully it will work.
Try the following;
USB cable plugged into phone and motherboard battery out. Hold volume +/-. Insert battery. Continue holding volume +/- until you either get the battery charging animation or download mode.
If that doesn't get you download mode nothing short of a jig or jtag will..
Goodluck!

Yeah, I reflashed stock + root, then flashed a kernal with CWM, then flashed CM9, then Siyah. Now I'm back to where I was, finally.
It turned out that in the beginning, when I was having the bad boot loop problem, I could get into download mode by holding Vol Down + Power, which wasn't mentioned anywhere that I could find. I just did it for kicks while the internet wasn't work and while I was turning my phone on and off.
Anywho, after much work and me learning to use Heimdall, the phone is working. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
