(Q) How to calibrate touch screen - HTC Amaze 4G

I was just wondering is there any app or feature on this phone that can calibrate the screen. Screen is fine wen i am scrolling threw the home screens and laying apps down, but wen i am playing games like spider man, sonic 4 and emulators I hit an action like the direction pad it registers my touch but then it unregistered my touch without me moving my finger so it's hard for me to play games. Don't know if I explained that right. I am using the latest speed rom

Try this even though it directly works for keyboard but it might fix it problem.
Settings>language&keyboard>touch input>reset calibration
Than calibrate tool.

You might try this:

Seemed to make my touchscreen better.
Im sorry I should have been more clear after awaking the device the 1st and usually the second swipe or touch doesn't register ...it kind of gets annoying

You might try using widgetlocker, though that is a paid app. It allows you to customize your lock sceen with different unlock themes and widgets. I've never had an issue with it registering my unlock after wake.
I found the problem ...fancy widget when enabling weather animation the touch screen lags for a second or two works good now

rezound touch screen responses bigger than we know?!cool discovery

okay so last night i was just messing around with the app drawer when i noticed i could drag the sliding bars across the bottom around even when my finger was basically off the screen , basically touch the slide bar then slowly drag ur finger down until just above the htc symbol (where menu back ect ) then slide normally left to right , now this works with all things like this such as file browsers internet ect. this is crazy did they build a working touch screen section just for the softkeys, i believe this could open up door in development such as gestures (swiping from home to search to go to previous app or something ) possibilities are endless when you have an extra cm of touchsreen space lol anyways i just wanted to get it out there and let ppl and devs know that theres a whole area we are not rly using to the full potential and to see the types of stuff we could create from it
ill attach a photo of the extra area mine goes a lil past the htc symbol
Just confirmed this. In the app drawer, hold & press "All apps" to rearrange, then (while still pressing) slide your finger down/ across the home/menu function keys. The touch screen still responds in this area. pretty cool.
Doesn't work that well.

Interesting...I wonder if its just there for the capacitive buttons but since you started with your finger on the visual part of the display it continues to work with the GUI instead of the buttons.

It's there for the capacitive buttons. Same with the Incredible.

Wondering if this was because they thought the Rezound could've been released with ICS, but it wasn't ready.

What's this app name?

Hello I'm jonathan michael. And I was wondering if someone knows this app.
Description of the app:
This app needs of root access I think lolz. It has the options to turn to the next home screen by passing your hand true the phone without touching it and it don't use the front camera to be able to use this options. It also can turn the device off by passing your hand up or down left or right whatever the option you choosed, and you can do all this without touching the device or use the camera. It just like a hand motion thing. I'm hoping someone knows what's the name of this app!

After 7 days of using this apk, it's asking me to pay for it.
I got it, and made my launcher get all buggy. Kept getting force closes, and my s pen stopped working.
Deleted it, now everything works fine...
This is my signature....
I FULLY endorse this app!I love it! I have had it since the time I bought the phone, and it's totally worth the money. You have complete rotational control and it has settings that allow you to set its function BY THE APP, so if you want your game app to run in landscape or portrait, you can set it to only work in one or the other! As an example, I'm an avid Flick Golf player and it only works in Portrait. If I rotate it to Landscape, it turns it off and makes me restart (reloads right from the beginning). By forcing it into portrait, I never have this problem!
This app is a godsend!!!!
Personally, I much prefer to just use a launcher like Nova or Apex that already has this function built into it as a standard feature.
If you don't want to do that for some reason, this app although it can be somewhat buggy at times is another option to gain that function.
Love this app. Must have for stock launcher. No errors so far.

just got it and its amazing!!! Thankyou
Been using this app for months, stable on Stock ROM, Rooted Stock ROM, and Rooted BeansV6 ROM.
This app does work pretty good, my only issue is on accelerometer based games, such as need for speed. The car with just go in circles. I tried disabling it for that app, and even for forcing orientation for it, and the best I could get was for the car to do circles in the opposite direction. Uninstalling the app and rebooting fixed the issue. Kind of a bummer, but at least most ROMs have alternate rotations included, so the app isn't necessary.

Lol, I totally know what you're saying. What you need to do is preset Need For Speed to landscape, but here is the important part! You need to rotate your phone's orientation to landscape prior to opening up Need For Speed. If you open it up from portrait and it has to switch, it throws the accelerometer off which is why your car will always do counterclockwise turns since it is emulating the motion of rotating your phone as well.
Trust me, I went through this but this solution definitely works!

[Q] One hand keyboard

How to flick the keyboard to one hand keyboard (portrait view)? My way is to pinch out the keyboard horizontally but only 1 out of 20-40 times i get success . Am i doing it wrong or this feature is buggy in ICS as well as JB? Not to mention in landscape view switching between full size keyboard and thumb keyboard is as smooth as butter by doing the same procedure.

155 views and no reply. Looks like either no one is using stock rom or never used this feature or not intrested. I am adding screen shots just to clear things up, hope this time somebody can provide a solution for me.

Well, by doing the same thing i think i sorted out how to efficiently convert portrait keyboard to one hand keyboard. 1. Just put down the mobile onto something like bed or table.
2. Now here is the trick- using your index fingers of both hands just pinch out the keyboard horizontally as fast as u can.
3. Do it 2 times in each attempt, and be fast while doing so.
Now following this procedure i managed to flick the portrait keyboard just in nearabout 2 tires.
Bud plz do inform me if you've got any other better method.

The P769 model don't have that feature. Well we do but we have to edit the build.prop to enable it
No everyone's hands are the same. I don't use that feature, I prefer to swype.

I was able to do this without laying the phone down.
No need to use two fingers as well.
Just use the top row of the keyboard.
Take your phone in your hand and use your thumb to slide along the top row quickly, either to the left or to the right.
The keyboard will switch to one had keyboard mode, and the side will depend on which side you are sliding.
Happy typing!
Wooo... gr8!! that works awesome, thanks.
