Rules to Posting in this forum - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Original Android Development

This Forum is meant for the newest/latest roms .....e.g. AOSP, CM, or AOKP source builds. Kernels from factory source also can be posted here.
If you are porting a rom, it belongs in the normal development section, not here.
Stock roms should be placed in the General forum as releasing a stock ROM is not development. The ones from Samsung themselves as in new versions, new updated versions also go in General. Ones you jacked, cooked or modified..... those go in the other regular development section.
Also, Roms an Kernels that bring forth something new in coding ideas or revolutionary changes that other roms do not have should also be posted here...
Thank you, oka1

Change Device Status

Hi, I'm on the tmobile version of the S3 and am running the latest radio with a JB leaked rom via XquiziT v34 and kitchen v10.
I am wanting to alter the Device Status settings so it reads from "modified" to either "normal/unmodified" or "Not available." The reason I would like to change it is not for warranty reasons, but because I want to be able to get AllShare Cast to work. I just purchased the dongle and previously had it working on another rom, wanamlite, and I would like it to work on this rom I'm currently running. I've also used Triangle Away to reset the counter back to 0.
Knowing what I've read from all around the forum, I've found out that Samsung doesn't want rooted users who have a modified rom using their exclusive products. And to do that, they created those measures to prevent the usage of their products from modified versions of their stock rom. So unless you have a completely stock rom, you won't be able to get it to fully work. I've tried just about everything else I could think of like flashing various radios, kernels, roms, and triangle away. I was only able to get it to work with a stock rom.
So if anyone can either show me how to alter it, or point me in the right direction on how I can achieve that, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

[OFF-TOPIC]official off-topic

INTRODUCTION :-
I made this thread as I felt the need of having one in our section ..
Also, there also need to be an off-topic discussion thread of newbies and developers that should reduce the flooding of General Section. Also, it would be easier for new users to complete their 10 posts.
First of all , please read the our FORUM RULES......(click me)
Here in this Off-topic thread ,You can post almost anything here....This thread will also help the members to complete their 10 post's.....
Enjoy....
What should i do in OFF-TOPIC THREAD ..?? (for noobs)-
[*]Discussion which is about warez, advertisement is strictly prohibited ..
[*]Any Off-Topic Discussion should be done in this thread and you are free to ask any type of question here.....
Your opinions, chats, suggestions, tips, etc which can help other users. No flaming needed.
Your discoveries. Don't post other's work as yours
No need of using this thread as political or social or religious topic gossip
Great Thread for beginners.... If they are looking for a place to get all the info on rooting, roms, kernels, mods, etc. They should check out the official Roms thread ---- > HERE
I'm new to being able to flash kernels so I have a few questions. Do certain roms include custom kernels when the rom is flashed or do I flash them myself after flashing the rom? I'm currently running hyperdrive, it says it's on stock kernel, can I flash a different custom kernel? Is it recommended for this specific rom?
Using several tools, i cant get the S4s CPU clock to show above 1.7ghz....

☞[WARNING: READ ME 1st] If YOU DID NOT CREATE "it" THEN IT DOESN'T BELONG IN HERE
NOTICE: If You did not create the ROM, KERNEL, FIX, MOD, APP, HACK, GUIDE, or if it's not a SOURCE CODE then it should go to Nexus 7 General as it doesn't belong in Development.
If your thread can be phrased as a question, it DEFINITELY doesn't belong in Development either, post in in the Nexus Q & A section. If you post it in Development it will be moved/closed and you may get an infraction or a ban.
There is only 1 exception, stock ROMs are allowed, as long as the link does not require a registration to download the ROM.
You may start planning a [DEV] topic in the General or Q & A section and then have it moved to the Android Development section once the actual Development has started.
☞ Development is classified as original work and/or documented edits and changes made to others work (with their permission) that makes it your own.
Stock ROM dumps that are modified (deodexed, etc.) from the manufacturer's original intent and then repackaged together classifies as development.
Kernel's and Recovery obviously classify as development as they are modified and compiled from source
☞ Themes are graphical/visual changes made to a ROM which make's the ROM visually different from the original work, i.e. different battery icons, a blue-color scheme, etc. They may be packaged up together with a full ROM and deployed the same way. Simply running a script (not made by you) to deodex and then packaging other people's work/MOD's into one place does not constitute original development.

[Q] Most stable KitKat

Want to install KitKat, dont want to try 5 roms!
Which ones do you recommend as an everyday driver?
And kernel?
Thanks!
PS: You know what this forum needs? Is a vote system for each moniker! That would be cool!
Most Kitkat roms are pretty stable. I use AOKP, but YMMV.
There isn't much choice with kernels. Jamie's Uber works with some KK roms. Beanstalk has some builds with different kernels.
You are not going to get a constructive answer to questions like this. Many have asked the same question, and people give the same answer.
READ THE FORUM AND TRY THEM.
Most importantly, you posted in the wrong forum. This is a DEVELOPMENT section. Questions go in Questions section.
XDA is a development site not a support site. As such members are expected to do their own research, read through the development threads, and decide what is best or most stable for them. Please take the time to read through those development threads to learn all about the software you are about to drastically alter your device with.
