[AOSP/AOKP-KERNEL] Fluxi XX Kernel ICS [wakelock and drain-free slide2wake for SGS2] - Galaxy S II Original Android Development

slide2wake (a.k.a. sweep2wake) for our device, wakelock- and drain-free == with deep sleep. Slide from far left to far right just as slide2invert, just with one finger.
Enabled by default, disable with:
echo "0" > /sys/devices/virtual/sec/sec_touchscreen/tsp_slide2wake
s2w should be really, really nice now. It's based on Ezekeel's touch-wake implementation and I'll release the source when it's cleaned, maybe Gökhan finds something useful for his BLNWW. No support, nothing.

Nice Fluxi!
Sadly I sell my S2, but back in to I9100 days I used your kernel a lot.
Always a epic work.
Waiting for you in S3...
Thanks man.

It's based on Ezekeel's touch-wake implementation. I know it may sometimes fail, without a wakelock many aspects about it are a bit tricky, e.g. we have a very short and unpredictable detection window for touchscreen movements. I'll release the source when it's cleaned, maybe Gökhan finds something useful for his BLNWW. No support, nothing.

Nice!,thanks...

@fluxi are the new changes from cm9 kernel included in this new updated version of your kernel? I mean that now on cm9 stock kernel is used the open source sensor hal, so auto brightness is working great like on your previous kernel version when choosing open source sensor hal on xtweaker app, but now I don't know if we can still use xtweaker app with this kernel to choose that option or If it is the default one on this new version...
And by the way, the swype function to wake up the screen is working awesome!!! Thanks a lot for coming back!!!

First tip - remove the bit about deleting batterystats.
This file is used to maintain, across reboots, low-level data about the kinds of operations the device and your apps are doing between battery changes. That is, it is solely used to compute the blame for battery usage shown in the "Battery Use" UI in settings.
That is, it has deeply significant things like "app X held a wake lock for 2 minutes" and "the screen was on at 60% brightness for 10 minutes."
It has no impact on the current battery level shown to you.
It has no impact on your battery life.
Deleting it is not going to do anything to make your more device more fantastic and wonderful... well, unless you have some deep hatred for seeing anything shown in the battery usage UI. And anyway, it is reset every time you unplug from power with a relatively full charge (thus why the battery usage UI data resets at that point), so this would be a much easier way to make it go away.
That lot comes from here (for more info click it!)

Ok, great initiative. Good luck.
My personal feedback. There are two mods that for me are indinspensable: 1) battery percentage and 2) Lidroid mod (14 icons). CRT on-off is to impress girls and I leave this mod at your choice.
Is it possible to have a CWM package that has Battery percentage and Lidroid mod included?
Meanwhile I am downloading and I would suggest to check the first link as it seems not working.

Future ROM feature wishlist

So I know that the devs are hard at work on getting us all kinds of CM, AOSP, and/or AOKP goodness, but I thought maybe if any of the devs are looking for some features to add it might be nice to have a thread they can refer to with everyones "wants" once the "needs" are met.
I'll start it off with a request to add support for BLN (back light notification) to an upcoming kernel. This, combined with the option to put the navigation bar on while dissabling the HW keys would be a great feature IMHO. Not to mention our stock notification LED pretty much sucks a big one.
ROM feature requests
Flashlight in notification drawer quick settings
More options in the shutdown menu (Boot to recovery, etc)
Get rid of the idiotic audio policy of volume reduction when plugging in headphones
Allow dialer rotation
The option to see the standard swipe lock screen before the secure lock.
True music controls on the lock screen
Better control of status bar icons (center clock, hide icons, change colors of icons, etc)
The ability to link the notification volume with the ringer volume
Volume rocker music controls
Universal Qslide
Kernel feature requests
BLN
Enable audio through USB for devices like the Infuse Car Dock (I think this is a kernel issue, if not let me know and I'll put it with the ROM stuff)
I didn't see a similar thread on here, so if there is, kindly point me to it and a mod can delete this one. And if BLN support already exists in Sk8's kernel tell me that too, ha ha.
I haven't looked into the ROMs because I'm liking stock, but a request I do have for when I do decide to flash is to have a flashlight if it hasn't been incorporated into the ROMs out now. There's a lot of times where I need to look for something and don't feel like turning on my light switch. Would be a nice thing to be implemented if it hasn't been done and can be done.

I don't know if this is what you have in mind, but I use TeslaLED: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.flashlight&feature.. It has a widget you can add to the homescreen for a quick on off, as well as some other features. I actually have it as one of my lock screen apps. I wish there was a way to have it turn on when opened from the lockscreen, but it's only one extra tap.
Edit: Gah! John beat me to one.
PS: TeslaLED is only 512K, whereas Tiny Flashlight is anything but at 1.5M

My wishlist:
1. Get rid of the idiotic audio policy of volume reduction when plugging in headphones
2. Allow dialer rotation
3. Enable audio through USB for devices like the Infuse Car Dock.
The two features I really want to see are:
- The option to see the standard swipe lock screen before the secure lock.
- true music controls on the lock screen instead of using the notification controls
sent from my LGOG
My biggest things are center clock, ability to hide things on status bar, and a flashlight toggle. The Base has done pretty well but I would love a flashlight toggle in my quick settings in my notification drawer. The swipe for flashlight thing was so touchy that I disable it.
Also, I love the theme chooser app and ability to have easy themes for my ROMs like in CM10 and AOKP
EDIT: also the ability to boot straight into download and recovery mode like in certain other ROMs using the power button.
Sent from my LG-E970 using xda app-developers app
The Base ROM does have a flashlight built in, you can activate it in the notification drawer options.
I was using Tesla until I found this.
Though I do wish it was in the Quick Settings too.
I would also love native reboot options.
And lastly, I would love the ability to link the notification volume with the ringer volume.
I know. The swipe thing only works half the time and half of that half, I end up with The Base force closes

I had actually forgot about this feature. I just tried it again and sometimes it takes three or four swipes to turn on. Might be user error though.
Swipe for torch works perfect for me.
Reboot options would be nice.
Volume Button Music controls would be nicer.
I actually came up with a wish while looking at the android dev section.
It doesn't actually have to do with the rom itself, but I'm hoping that as things become further developed to not only have a Changelog but to have a what's working list/what's not working list or just the latter.
I see a lot of threads gets bogged down with DOES THIS WORK? IS THIS INCLUDED?
Granted there's a group of people out there that don't read and just flash, but it could be helpful for another group of people that compare and contrast roms (like myself) before flashing.
Anyone else agree?

That makes sense to me. I wonder if xda could get a ROM form together so all the devs can include all the same info in their ROM's thread's OP. I don't know how practical that would be, but it would be nice to have some standardization.

But from what I've seen, most ROM posts actually follow a pretty basic design.

[ROM][Unofficial-Geeb]4.4.2_R2 SomethingExplosive[KVT49L][Mar.15.2014]

This is a little kang I did for myself and after seeing the good response in my 4.4.2_R1 aosp thread I decided to post this for everyone to try out.
It's not a hugely modified rom, its largely aosp with enough tweaks and addons to make it "just right" for me.
When I run this rom, I don't use xposed/gravitybox and turn on art. Its smooth smooth smooth.
First and foremost, big thanks to something15525 as its his rom, I just added device specific stuff and compiled for geeb.
Full features list can be found here: https://github.com/SomethingExplosive/android_vendor_SoMeX/blob/somex-4.4/FEATURES.mkdn
Quick highlights:
This rom has Superuser baked in so no need to flash SuperSU.
AOSP gesture enabled keyboard
VoicePlus - Google Voice integration into any SMS app
CM Torch built in
Busybox - helpful tools for terminal manipulation
Extended Power Menu - Reboot, Recovery, and Bootloader access from the power menu
Customized QuickSettings Toggles (WiFi and Bluetooth) - no more long press to toggle
Clear Recents Button - One button to clear everything in the recent apps display

When I use the pure aosp build, I run xposed/gravitybox which in turn means I can't turn art on.
I'm running this rom now for the last few days without xposed/gravitybox and turn on art instead.
Art makes the phone even more responsive.

The goal of this rom from the developers standpoint is to have minimal customization.
Think of it as aosp++
Just a few tweaks/addons without going insane and losing the stability and speed of aosp.

Any trick to increase audio volume level ( I mean at max it is bit low)?

Sorry I'm not really into doing mods for my roms, but if someone wants to come up with a zip to do these things for you it would be welcomed in this thread!
Only reason I asked was, I tried the build prop edit adding "qemu.HW.mainkey=0" and went to the generic keypad and tried disabling the hardware keys and it didn't work.
Here is to hoping some one can write up a quick zip to do this.

I was on this ROM for a few days and had no issues at all! Very well done!
I switched to Slimkat for the extra features though, and I miss the colors this ROM has! What was edited...was it the gamma, the contrast, the levels? Is there a file I can edit to get the same overall color feel that this ROM has? What values are set for this ROM so I can match it on any other ROM I happen to try?

RGB Display Calibration Using Savoca's Furnace & Franco Kernel r6

!! INTRO !!

As you all know that Furnace kernel and Franco kernel version r6 has the RGB display calibration control ability ,
now we can adjust LCD screen RGB value by changing the default value (255 255 255)
in the system file "/sys/devices/platform/kcal_ctrl.0/kcal"
One can change the RGB value in the above mentioned file manually using any good file manager with root access.
But it will again reset to default (255 255 255) when you reboot phone.
Many of us (One Plus One owner) think that the LCD screen is a bit yellowish.
Feature given in CM11S --> Settings --> Display & lights --> Screen Color --> Custom will only allow us to control
Hue
Saturation
Contrast
Intensity
But it is difficult for us to adjust screen yellow tone by this.
Here is a simple tweak that can help you to set RGB (Franco Kernel r6) on boot
I have created a simple shell script that will change RGB value on every boot

Just thinking maybe you could give credit where due, if anything give it to LG. But you really plastered franco's name/kernel all over here.
Also apps like TricksterMOD already support this. And to maintain compatibility with most of the cherry-picks that will come of this, you should add this line to your script.
Code:
echo "1" > /sys/devices/platform/kcal_ctrl.0/kcal_ctrl

Lets get to sharing those settings! I find Trickstermod is the best for this and can easily be configured...
Works like a charm... No more yellow on the bottom of the one...

Takes away the yellow but makes my display REALLY cold like a bluish tone. I have played quite a bit but I am yet to find any setting that makes my display look like it should from the factory... Will keep trying.
