WHATS APPs?

Search for any calender or clock apps on Play store ? Or a widget is that is what you are looking for ?

Beautiful Widgets has some date only widgets, 1x1 with the date and day of week and a 2x1 with date, day of week and month

Just pull down the Statusbar? Quicker than opening an app...

Make your own clock widget.

Probably not the answer you are looking for but search the Market for Widget Locker....great app for customizing the lock screen.

Did you ever find a good solution to this? I just got an HTC Vivid and am wondering the same
Widgetlocker has been much improved, id recommend widgetlocker then place "gmail label notifier" widget it works awesome.

Never thought to use all 3 words. Rather than widgets. Big ups! Thanks

{Q} Contact Widget

Is the contact widget supposed to have status update from fb? If so...Why is mine empty? Can anyone help me?

Anyone?

It should have contact's assigned name in said bubble. I'd suggest you attempt to create a contact widget for another contact and see what happens.

Don't use task managers, android manages memory for you

Icon Switcher app

I posted about this in the general section as well but it doesn't seem to be getting much attention.
I am trying to make custom sized icons similar to the windows 8 tiles. I have been using the icon switcher app but can't disable the app logo on the bottom of the widgets. (See pic)
Does anyone know of another app that will allow me to get the same look without the app name?

I use Desktop Visualizer. You can see the size of the tile at the bottom of each sized widget so you can make your icons the correct size.
