Skype not working on Resurrection ROM v2.6 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I have installed Resurrection ROM v2.6 on my International Galaxy S2. Whenever I try using Skype or Tango, I am having a weird problem - the person whom I am calling can hear and see my but I am not able to hear anything. It is like the speaker and earpiece just refuse to work for a video/voice chat client. :crying: In any case, I have tried deleting the app data and then re-installing Skype and Tango. But it doesn't work.
I had v2.5 installed before and it was working fine. If nothing works then I will probably just back-port.
Any help would be much appreciated.

is there any voip app working?

my NT is rooted on 1.4.0. (I haven't upgraded yet until I need to or see a useful advantage.)
I've tried the latest version of skype and also groovip. both seem to have a microphone problem. groovip had secial submenu in settings called trouble shooting which handled the inbound voice and got it working but the outbound like skype has mic problems. mic works fine in other apps. possible permissions problem or device mapping issue? I'm not that tech savy so any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. (or a referral to another app similar to groovip)
thank you for retina-refraction-time.

until custom roms are out, there is no way that the microphone will work with any voip apps.
i think the reason behind it is because the nook os is forbidding the microphone to be used with anything other than what it was meant to be used for.
read and record your voice for children's books and the like. this is probably the reason why some apps that use the microphone do work such as google voice search, hi-q mp3 recorder, etc.
the common thing between those two apps is that they are used to record your voice, where as voip does more than that.
so until custom roms are out, voip apps will not work. installing a custom rom means installing new software, in this case installing a new OS.
hope this helps. we are getting real close to CM9 so just hang in a little longer!
I tried out the new beta of Evi (siri altenative on android) it seems to work great. I haven't tried the headphones/mic jack. does it support mic through headphones and has anybody tried it?
I have used teamspeak and ventrillo.

[Q] My Earpiece Stopped Working

Hoping someone will have an answer. Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 (US Version) (Rooted) Everything Stock (ROM and Kernel)
All of a sudden, the device earpiece has stopped working, no sound at all, I've tried multiple reboots, wipes without success.
The only way to make calls (Skype, VoIP) is to use a wired headset or a speakerphone.
Please Help Me!
Sorry I'm New on This
I would try a different app to make sure it is really the earpiece and not Skype. Skype used to have this problem for me.

I tried an app called "earpiece" with which I can test the earpiece, but I've got the same result
I'm having so much trouble with this. After I updated my Galaxy Player 5 over Kies long time ago my earpiece stopped working. I tried instaling another kernel and rom's nothing helped. Now I using ParanoidAndroid Rom. I never droped my Galaxy Player, I doubt that is hardware problem. Please if someone has solution, share with us. Thank you.

Skype does not work with internal MIC

As the heading tells:
The microphone of the Tablet does not work in skype
A test with voice recorder and some other apps etc shows that the mic itself works perfectly - but not in Skype. You hear only some "brrrrrrrrrr" noice in skype test call (echo test)
Any hints, tips and experiences about this?
TIA
Uwe
Correctig:
Also microphone im IMO and Viber do not work. Onyl distorted sounds at an low level.
In "Agent Mail.RU" all is working flawlessly without any problem.....

Try updating firmware. I'm using it in skype quite frequently and there are no problems.
I installed the last available Nightly CM12.1 - no way
Also PAC-ROM does not work with Skype.
I also made a factory reset and installed all from beginning --> NO WAY
Or do You mean of another firmware?
I can confirm that I have the same issue with latest cm 12.1 (and with previous versions for quite some time).
If anyone knows how to fix that, it would be awesome since I searched for resolutions but could not find one :crying:
Thanks

On CM try editing mic settings (gain, etc...) with kernel auditor.

Facebook messenger calls not working

I have 6.0.1 based ROM installed. Whenever I install xposed, Facebook Messenger calls not work.
What happens is I can hear them but they can't hear me.
Used Lesser AudioSwitch to fix this, tested & working after switching to headphones!
