[Q] Is there an easy way to remove Touchwiz notification toggles? - Galaxy S III Q&A, (US Carriers)

I love the notification toggles... but hate the fact that Samsung forgot to put in any method to customize these!!
So instead, I'd like to use one of many apps in the Market to give me notification toggles (Wigetsoid or Notification Toggle in the Play Store comes to mind). That way I can customize them exactly as I like...
BUT... the original touchwiz will still be there.
Is there a simple method to remove that bar, such as perhaps removing an APK, or editing a non-compiled config file somewhere?
I'm currently rooted using Blazer's ROM (1.6), and I'd rather not suggest for him to remove it from the ROM as I'm sure there are a lot of people perfectly happy with the way it is.
If anyone has an easy method to remove it, please speak up

Theming Frustration

So, I'm trying to figure out how to theme Android. Currently, there's some really overdone glossy/gawdy themes out for my device, and I want to bring something back more elegant.
I'm not looking to do anything insane, what I really want to try doing to start with is just changing the notification icons that appear in the status bar, for starters, like the GMail, missed call, messaging, and the signal/wifi/bt stuff (not yet interseted in changing the battery indicator).
What am I looking to edit? My understanding is that I can replace the image files with the same name as what I want to replace with, and then resign the framework apk as well as resigning the zip. Am I totally off?
dont know any stuff yet which allows u to change ur notification bar view or somethin... but i've tried a good interactive live wallpaper available in market place which make ur notifixation bubbles n show on ur homescreen.... u shud try if the case is for making somethin interestin in ur device......

Don't resign anything in the system folder. Well there are some exceptions. Also you will only be able to change the stock apps icons as 3rd party have their own built into the apk

[Q] Is there an EASY way to change font/background color on notification bar & menus?

[Q] Is there an EASY way to change font/background color on notification bar & menus?
Does anyone know of an easy way to change the font color of the notification bar &/or menus with a Droid Eris? Many of the themes I've sampled have certain aspects that are hard to read.
I've searched & searched and the only answer I could find, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831715, has a lot of steps & requires editing many files. I don't want to risk screwing something up.
Is there a quick & dirty method, or is this it? I'm still learning!
Thanks in advance!
Using the UOT Kitchen is a fairly easy way to theme certain parts of a ROM the way you want.
UOT Kitchen - How To
It doesn't have options for everything though, so there are still things that you'll either need to find a morph to flash with zipthemer/metamorph or do manually.
One other tool you might want to look at is IDIOT(If Droids Insist On Themes). I haven't used it myself but it looks interesting.

Touchwiz bar fade "border" fix (without root)?

Tried searching around, and found the bar mods thread (but it seems to me you need to root to use them, forgive me I'm new to Android), but couldn't answer this question:
Without rooting, is there a way to fix the Touchwiz status bar problem where you still see a gray border around the bar when it's faded (watching a movie, etc.)?
No there is no way to modify stuff like the notification bar without editing a specific file that needs root access to edit.
I would highly suggest rooting though as you can use on of many great themes and custom roms... Well you should know that since you're on this site lol. o

[Q] possible to hide status bar in lock screen?

hey guys. is it possible to hide the status bar from the lockscreen? I'm good with .xml, .smali or any other kind of edit. i just need to be pointed to where I would need to go.
I tried searching and came up empty handed. i'm trying hard to like the lock screen. i already changed the backgrounds (much better now), currently working on a custom lockring, last thing would be to hide that ugly status bar...it's only showing me what the lockscreen already shows anyways.
thanks for the info.
Download the app Widget Locker...U can remove taskbar and also a lot of customization to your style
I'm a big WidgetLocker fan, with my own custom themes made and all that when i was on the Evo 3D. i'm trying to move on with the times and use this nifty sense lockscreen. just has a few kinks to work out.
but if i dont end up fixing it to my liking soon enough i'll download widgetlocker again.
anyone else have any ideas as to how to get this done?
If you go into titanium backup, and freeze statusbar, it will do what you want, it will also remove in regular screen, possibly decompile lockscreen.apk and see if you can do it there.

that is not what I want to do at all. I don't want to make the status bar unavailable everywhere in the system. just within the lockscreen.
if I knew where to go, I can make .xml and .smali edits or whatever else. I just don't know how to search for things from scratch :-(

I'm just guessing, so this could be a useless thought, but... I think checking in idlescreen base would be a good start. You wouldn't probably want to mess with this in system UI because that would likely just hose the whole bar. Team d3rp seems to have maybe figured out making the bar transparent, which would leave the icons and if course be clear everywhere else too... but it's still finicky across the roms, so not quite done yet. pstevep is the man, and maybe could help? See what you can find and then maybe send him a pm.
bumpity bumb
bump, bump, bumpity bump.
any way to do this?
i would say edit lockscreen.apk (decompile and fish around) and also look in a androidpolicy.jar probably some lines of code your could remove/add to make it happen.
clever idea by the way. i am still trying to resolve issues with my idea of clearing notifications from the lockscreen by double tapping the home key. had it figured out for a little bit but it was causing apps to force close :/
again i like your idea... i probably wouldn't use it myself simply because i wouldnt be able to see important details or notifications etc without unlocking the phone
Bump

Phone APK? And S-Finder

What is the filename and path for the S5 phone apk? I want to theme my friends phone apk for him.
Also, how are you guys getting rid of S=Finder from the pulldown?
i think all the apk files should list under system/app folder and to get rid of S-Finder from pulldown, just install Xposed G-Touchwiz.
You didn't give us enough information to really know what you want.
There are several phone packages e.g. the dialer and the in call screen
/system/priv-app/SecTeleService.apk
/system/priv-app/InCallUI.apk
For S-Finder, you didn't tell us if you meant removing it from the user defined set of Quick Notification toggles.. or permanently remove it. Or if you meant the quick search window. Lots of threads on all of those, so a forum search is always the best place to go first.
