Probably a silly question but anyone considered a HTC One X ROM on the S3 ??
This would solve the no SD Card slot and fixed battery issues and those that want Sense and SD slot plus removable battery have best of both worlds..

It's simple, I want the ability to put extra storage into my phone and I also want to be able to put a high capacity battery in place of the factory one if I choose ..
However I do not like Samsung's UI and frankly HTC's Sense UI is the simply best bar none IMHO and one of the biggest reasons for purchasing an HTC phone, so much value add over the competition.

Hope the official update gets rid of that annoying LGMITS error and the SD card which randomly becomes unrecognized.
I also heard that Gingerbread should make power consumption more efficient compared to froyo (apparently the price to pay for being snappier than eclair).

Yeah, that LGMITS error. It annoyed me for a while, but suddenly it stopped popping up on my screen. Weird.
So you mean power consumption compensates for the touchscreen's accuracy? I just knew that now, seriously LOL. Hopefully that isn't the case with "our" Gingerbread update.
This just made my day ^____^ Guess I'll postpone using a custom ROM until Gingerbread.
Hope I made a right choice to choose OT.
Other than AWS and wifi calling support, I'd like to see flash support on future 2.3 update.
I thought there's already a Flash support for Optimus One....?

Apparently, the browser does not have the flash plug-in or it is disabled or inaccesible...
by the way >> you can enable plug-ins from the browser settings menu
oh.. and i think flash is really missing in the phone..

I emailed LG Romania Support today and the answer was: "the P500 can't be upgraded to gingerbread because the processor and the memory will not allow runing the 2.3 version" )) So if LG Romania doesn't even know that their phone can be upgraded to 2.3 than they surely don't know when will this be possible
They are complete morons. Because of the memory ? This device has 512 mb, same as Nexus S, same as Desire, Nexus One, Galaxy S, all high-end devices.
I'm 100% positive that the upgrade will be released !

Will this update fix the sd card problem?
what's wrong with the sd card? i never had any problems with it.
I'm having trouble detecting the sd card.
I inserted a sandisk 4gb class 4 and my phone didn't recognized it (i got the 'SD card removed. Insert a new one.' notification). Then, i inserted back the original 2gb sd card from the box, but that notification is still there and it can't be recognized. But both my PC and a another android device (a galaxy tab) can detect it. So, i tried formatting both the 4gb and the original 2gb with the galaxy tab and inserted it to my O1 but nothing has changed. I tried updating to the official V10E firmware but it makes no differences. Any help please?

I want to buy a new phone in a few days,and I choose between One x and S3,I know thath there is a lot of topic like this but I searched and rly cant find anything thath will convince me to buy one x or s3,just to much similarities.
So ,How I see S3 is smoother and has better batery life ,I dont care for camera and microsd slot ****s,32 or 16gb enough for me.
I will root and install custom rom when I buy one of these,so I wanna know with custom rom on galaxy S3 and custom rom on ONE X what are difference then,cus I know thath on custom rom will be a lot of improvements on both phones.
One thing I prefer on one X is design.
Pls give me some benchmarks and good advices

There's little point asking about this. The specs you'll be able to find online, as for custom roms, there's so many no one's gonna bother explaining everything.
HTC will have sense based roms, whereas Samsung will have touchwiz based roms. Both will have cm.

Good morning people.. I'm waiting for mnp success from H3G Italy to Wind Italy, changing my old HTC Desire for a new, wonderful, Htc One X+.
My question is: how many app space is there (2 gb like on One X or more ?)
And.. wich problems has this device ? I've heard about a horrible quality of audio bluetooth (even for music, even for calls).. this is true ? How can I'll solve this ?

WOW! So.. the entire memory is "usable" for the apps? Because on One X, Htc created a limit of 2.1 gb for installing apps.. you told me there's no more ? And.. about the sound quality, what you think ?
You can use 55 of the total 64gbs for apps if you wanted to. I find the sound quality to be great but wouldn't be able to give you a comparison vs the one x.
You can use almost 54GB for Apps (actually I installed something like 3GB apps), pictures, music, movies... it's a great phone.
About sound, mine it's ok: with MusicBox 4 you can add some features too !
The only thing I'm fighting against is the battery !!

You will obviously have to dump the idea....
Canvas HD uses Mediatek chipset! AFAIK, Mediatek doesn't support open source... And even if you port only one sim will work with lots of bugs Porting is still possible but compiling from source is impossible.... Even if it is possible it will take months to get it booted... Just take a look at A110 forums

Battery Drain
i just bought Canvas HD for my wife...everything is working fine..except the batter drain....i installed the BBS on the phone and found that the phone standby is eating most of the battery...can anyone suggest how to fix it...btw the phone is on stock 4.1

Main problem of battery draining faster is always the HD Screen and high screen brightness...
My Suggestion:
Uninstall any Battery Saver App (They eat more battery)
Then put the screen brightness to medium
and then observe

screen is on auto brightness...but my main concern is the battery consumed by phone standby and idle..although only one sim is there...and i have good reception at my home....

Never keep it on Auto Brightness!!
It eats more and more of the battery
Auto Brightness uses An app + Sensors = More Battery Consumption So set it to medium instead of Auto Brightness

May I also add that items like GPS, Bluetooth, Auto rotation too eat up battery. Setting them off when not needed will surely add hours to your battery life.
Porting Query
I had a doubt regarding port different roms. i know both roms should be of same version e.g 4.1.2. but should the hardware also match. per se I am working on porting Sense 4 based Rom to Canvas HD. i have taken HTC desire V as it is also dual sim. both have different processor and ram. so wanted to know what specs should match for me port a rom. and also can Sense 5 be ported since it is a single sim?? thanks in advance.:fingers-crossed:

While porting roms only Android Version and the Screen Resolution of both the devices should match...
Also if you port Sense 5, the bugs will be endless AFAIK

1) which microsd card is best for it? i mean compatible company ...
2) and which should i buy? 16 gb or 32 gb? because someone say me that i should purchase 16 gb card not 32 gb because 32 gb card can slow your mobile..is that right? ( i prefer 32 gb class 10 card but someone confuse me about it)...

Friend size doesn't matter.
We don't suggest brands here as we don't get paid to suggest.
Every branded company's microsd card is good to buy.
You can buy 32 gb as mmx hd has 32gb support.
It doesn't make much difference in speed.
You should buy 32gb microsd class 10 for great performance

Swap internal with external without Root
I am trying to swap internal storage with external SD card according to steps mentioned in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274974
The step mentions to download update.zip but when i download, i get the file as root_swap.zip
Any idea if this is correct? If yes, how do i go about applying the same?

Good Day to you all. I reside in the Philippines, and after doing quite some research, i discovered that the Micromax A116 is sold in the Philippines as the MyPhone a919i Duos. Looks, and specs seems to be the same. But I need confirmation if it would be possible to utilize all the custom roms, rooting, and everything else in the development thread of the A116 by the MyPhone a919i Duos. It would be nice to hear from someone who owns a MyPhone that tried some of the things in the development section. Much help is appreciated. Thanks!!

I have bought this phone due to its hardware specs.
But after i have realized that software part is seriously bad and buggy.
Firstly the touch response is as good as redmi series
Secondly ui experience is buggy and much slower its seems m using 1gb ram phone
Battery is 3850mh which is quite great but my device juiced battery really fast
It would be great if we have custom roms for this device but still no one is working on that.
Is there any solution to make this phone amazing? I really don't think any one is making a custom rom like miui,flame,lineoage,cm is there anyone who will save this device as we cant trust on umi digi developers

By hardware perspective.. You should buy this one.. Otherwise software has glitches n bugs.. Their developer's aren't good so far.
Plus still no custom rom available yet.
