Big questions! - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi and sorry for my bad English :S
Actually on my Xperia Mini Pro SK17i I mounted the RealICS 4.1 but I would see the official 4.0.4! I have unlocked bootloader but I have a big problem: I can't flash with Flashtool because It always return me an error when It's flashing the system!
Can I flash the official 4.0.4 with PC Companion or Sony Mac Bridge? (I have a Mac!)
What will I do if the flash give me an error? I'm confused...
After that can I lock my bootloader? I unlocked that with the testpoint metod :S
PS: Can i flash this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772120) on my RealICS 4.1 or Can i have the notification on the lockscreen like in Gingerbread?
Thanks thanks thanks at all

What error does Flashtool give?
You need to install the drivers and make sure your phone is in flashmode.

It has always worked and I have everything installed correctly
It give me "Flashing aborted. Error flashing system.sin"
With all the official ROM!!!

Try another computer:good:
Or lock your bootloader & use SUS:good:

I can't use another computer
How I lock my bootloader with the testpoint metod? Should I search into the forum?
PS: my principal question is: "What will do if I use "repair" of PC Companion or Mac Bridge?

It may brick ur device...!!

If you unlocked it via test point, you should be able to use PC Companion without relocking it.

Can I use the function repair of PC Companion or I brick my phone? I don't understand

means using repair on an unlocked device will brick your phone so if you want to flash official firmware and you have unlocked your boot loader then first lock your boot loader by following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324703 and then update to latest official firmware

Incorrect to all of this.
If you unlocked via official method,
Installation will not start at all! Update Service/PC Companion can see if you're bootloader is unlocked via official method or not. If it is, you just get error and software won't be edited at all. Relocking bootloader allows the installation to continue, so relock if you want to repair/update with PC.
If you unlocked via test point method,
Installation will work and your device won't get bricked!
Now, solution to your Flashtool - What version are you using of Flashtool? Were you able to install THAT firmware earlier also to your phone?

Just remember this, do not try to update OTA if you have unlocked boot-loader by any method. It will (might) brick your phone. (That's an actual brick. You will need to use un-bricking ftf to repair phone)
Known Issues:
It is currently not possible to unlock the boot loader for CDMA phones.
Some customers with unlocked boot loaders have experienced problems when they are accepting over the air upgrades (FOTA - Firmware upgrade Over The Air). For customers that have unlocked the boot loader, please do not accept any over the air upgrades.

@someguyfromhell: Change the font of your sig where you advice us to use search button, if possible. It's a bit childish [IMO].

Oh good! I can use the function repair, great!
I used all the Flashtool version and I reinstalled all the driver but nothing. It give me the same error..
I flashed all version of Gingerbread (2.3.3 and 2.3.4.) and also 4.0.4...
Any solutions?

No solutions??? Thanks at all for everything! You're the best!

ip :good:

hmmm...using flashtool, try flashing system.sin only....if you keep getting error then flash stock kernel first before flashing your phone again....

See This
See the Attached Picture
I have taken it from sony forums a long time ago ,and tested it and it works and my device isn't broken
Now

But now I have the RealICSv5...sure I can't brick my phone? Ok i will do that with Sony Mac Bridge

[Q] Failed to update stock firmware

Hello! So i have unlocked bootloader with sony ericsson instructions and rooted with zergrush. I bored to feeling with custom roms that the phone is never "clean" you know un-updated everything doesnt work etc. but the problem is that when i flashed back to stock .42 firmware with flashtool it was unrooted just unlocked bootloader then i got notifaction about ".62" update so i decided to update, it downloaded the thing with wifi and then i clicked "install" and it shutted down, shown something logo that tells that the phone is installing update. after 10 seconds it rebooted and said that "update failed" what should i do to get my neo original state
Since you unlocked bootloader by official way, you can't use SEUS or PC Companion.
I wonder how you didn't end up with bricked phone after you did OTA update
Anw, ether you flash .62 ftf with flashtool, or you re-lock your bootloader by this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134335
and you can use SEUS or PC Companion after you re-lock it.
Okay Thanks

Do I need to relock bootloader to update through PC Companion?

I'm willing to unlock the bootloader of my WT19, so I can flash a custom kernel and install this ROM.
What if I want to update to Sony's official Android 4.0 firmware (when it's released in 2~3 months)? Can I just use PC Companion to restore my phone? Do I need to firstly relock the bootloader to be able to use PC Companion?
Thanks.

havent actually tried it yet, but definitely it is advisable to relock boot loader if you are going to use official update from Sony using their methods.
flashing the official rom using flashtool, if someone uploads it, is possible even without relocking of bootloader.

[Q] Help with my Xperia Mini Pro bootloader :)

So,I've rooted and unlock its bootloader for a long time.I also install my phone ClockWorkMod Recovery and etc. other root stuff (My android is 2.3.4 .58 Firmware)
So,today I thought I will finally relock my bootloader as my phone will receive a new ICS official from Sony Ericsson anytime from now until end of June,so I download a relock bootloader ftf file (I've searched it in the internet, and download the right file). After I flashed it (I've enabled USB debugging before shut down my phone and I also sure my phone is in flash mode during flash),my phone WON'T boot up...I don't know what happen,so I'm currently fixing it by using WotanServer, and it downloading in progress now (My x10 Mini Pro bricked 5 times, and I fix it 5 times by myself without whining )
So,I wanna ask you guys :
Why my phone won't boot up?Although the bootloader is locked by Flashtool, but it won't boot up I've stock FIRMWARE and stock KERNEL in my phone...never modified it,only root, unlock its bootloader and flash CWM in it...
Thanks for reading I hope you can answer my question
Regards,
UchihaDareNial
Uhm, since WotanServer installs also stock kernel back...doesn't it require unlocked bootloader?
I am not sure, but that would make sense with all other kernel installations also.
Unlock bootloader, install firmware and kernel with WotanServer again, boot and relock bootloader.

Thanks for the information man,by the way,I just restore my phone using WotanServer and WotanServer will always be my trust to restore my phone if it got a brick or something like that
I restore my phone with Firmware .58 and I rooted it using ZergRush, and update it using OTA [My phone automatically bootloader locked] (I install US Generic xD even I live in Malaysia,so I got Sk17a instead of Sk17i) and now I got .62 firmware with root access in my phone

Yep,you are right...
Because,WotanServer and PC Companion and SEUS use OTHER method which I (even other ROM developer maybe?) don't know how the file work with the flashing without needed bootloader unlocked right?

PC Companion doesn't work with unlocked bootloader at all.
You might be correct, as I have never tried update/repair via PC Companion.

I know, the point is that it's not necessary for flashing stock kernel bootloader to be unlocked.I think it's pretty obvious, if it didn't update with locked bootloader then sony would have to force users to unlock bootloader or give unlocked phones or never update kernel.

HELP! Bootloader relocked with custom kernel and ROM

I want to restore my kernel and rom back to stock, my device is Mini Pro. My current kernel is LuPuS and I tried restoring via PC Companion and it fails. Reading here and there, I have to relock my bootloader. So I relock using ftf from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563840. Relocking goes fine, but after that it won't boot. It won't even pass the kernel logo, all I get is the vibration. Browsing again, I realize my stupidity is that I didn't notice the relocking bootloader tutorial, so I'm relocking with both custom kernel and ROM. Is it possible to get my device back to life?
Unlock the bootloader again, flash stock rom and relock

You should not have used PC companion with unlocked bootloader... Your device is bricked...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1568792
Read point 6
"turning brick into a smartphone "
And follow the steps...
After unbricking your phone will work fine...
Then flash stock firmware by flashtool and then relock your bootloader...
And NEVER use OTA with unlocked bootloader

Had a read error: 31 flashing problem once, then I try reflashing and it works. A retry is almost always worth trying

[Xperia P]Flashing a kernel over official ICS

Hello there
Yesterday i did the root trick for 6.1.1.B.1.54 with flashtool, where you downgrade to an earlier kernel (.544) in flashmode, push superSU and then upgrade again to .54.
In the dev forum for the Xperia P i have found the Sliding_XP kernel, which i want to install.
The question is, do I need an unlocked bootloader to do this? Or is it just flashable via flashtool?
Also, it says in the kernel's thread that the package also contains CWM recovery. That removes the fastboot mode, right? (since it is accessible via vol down, same as for fastboot)
Sorry for sounding like an xda-noob (Yeah, i've seen the video and I should hate myself).
Thanks in advance!
It doesn't remove anything.
Volume down is for flashmode btw.
Sent from my Xperia U using xda premium
Oh, sorry. I rechecked and yeah, it is the flash mode. fastboot is volume up.
The question remains: Do i heed an unlocked bootloader to install this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002202
As I said, i have the rooted 6.1.1.B.1.54 update, and my bootloader is locked, no other hacks have been done to the phone

I see. I know that OTA updates are no longer available upon unlocking your bootloader, nor some services such as trackid (which doesn't bother me), or Download muic info in the walkman app. Are there any more disadvantages?
Also, when Sony releases the official promised JB update, the only way to update it will be with the ftf file, right?

First of all OTA updates not available and others you know that.....
next is your warranty will be void most probably......
Sony officially said that it wont release JB for SOLA so anyhow you wont require OTA for that......
and i bet you will get JB only through XDA.......

I don't have a sola, i have a P
Alright, so I have unlocked my bootloader. (Horray.) It did delete everything, but for some reason, SuperSU is still there.I hope that rooting before unlocking the BL did not do anything bad to it.
As a total noob who doesn't want to brick his phone, someone please tell me what exactly i need to do now in order to install the kernel mentioned above
In other words, how exactly do you install kernels? With recovery? I don't have that installed in my phone. Also it says that the kernel comes bundled with CWM. This confuses me.
What mode do I need to select in order to flash it on my Xperia P? Flashmode or Fastboot?
Also, in case anything goes wrong and my phone gets bricked while flashing, is there any chance that the phone might be permanently bricked, as in not revivable via either entering fastboot or flashmode to flash a new official fresh firmware file?

Slowdown dude, your to fast...it depends on the kernel,if its .img just flash it via fastboot if its a .zip file flash it via cwm recovery,i assume you have a non recovery, coz your using a stock kernel, i recommend you to flash sliding xp kernel,it has cwm recovery built in,...happy flashing,
