Someone explain why the "original" dev forums have "unofficial" ROMs?
I was under the impression that they were for the ORIGINAL works of the devs. I.E. not just a port/guide of someone else's work.

Nope... You were mistaken.... Original means original as outside of stock development.

I was just wondering if someone could help me understand which development section I would find a ROM that works on my phone, thanks.

If you are talking about your GT-N7005 (which I believe is the Galaxy Note), then it is better to post in that device's forum.
Otherwise, all the Nexus users and other phones' user with JB will be posting here with different features and opinions

As far as I know, samsung only released the OTA JB for the S3... seems to work pretty ok. But haven't experienced it myself.... you might wanna take a look in the official forum.

All JB threads should be directed to the stick in Note General.
Who really cares since our fantastic DEVS already have us on 4.2.2.

fake version? galaxy S III GT-i9300

so i purchased a s3 on craigslist. the camera its kind of funny and the rom seems more like a generic rom without any s app how could i find out if the phone is fake or not? and if it's possible to install clean rom from this forums for this version.
thanks in advance.
Sounds like whoever sold you the phone sold it to you with some sort of custom Rom. I would suggest you look under your about phone, and let us know what it says there.

First question you should ask is how much you paid for it because if the price is too good to be true the device is probably not a legit one, also from lookong at the about phone screen that is either some rom I havent seen or poss a fake
Also this should noy be in this forum area try closing this down and request it is moved to either general or q&a

Custom ROM for a custom fake phone it looks like. Install Android System info and see what chipsets it contains...

Most likely a fake S3 - based on Mediatek mtk6575 CPU.

4.4 ROM?

Anyone know when we'll see the first stock Google ROM for our Verizon s4? Or any developers out there working on one? Want one bad!

(Patience is key) I think some developers are working on it now, but it is a challenge to port a new version of stock android on to the jfltevzw because the device is different than your average nexus device. Then you also have to take in the fact that devs are working on other projects on the moment and wish not to abandoned them.
Thank you for the post. And I do understand that. Very anxious!
