Instructions
Well you know just extract everything and put the ICS folder in the root of your sd card. If WM6.5 tap on clrcad (nothing appears to happen) then haret, if magldr navigate to ICS folder using ad-sd dir and select ICS folder then boot AD SD.
•Magldr uses can try different sized data.ext4 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24930501&postcount=1353 or use toporesize to enlarge default 512mb one
•Setup your google account and let it go to home screen, wait for 4-5 mins then reboot the phone. Do not do anything else on first boot..
•Reboot 2 more times before using phone normally
Please read the NAND thread for information, but post any problems etc here in the SD thread.Thanks.

Note that first boot will take about 10 mins (depending on size of data.ext4 created) and will end with the phone rebooting. Second boot will take less time and will show the boot animation (as opposed to portadroid screen in first boot). You are porting this build, it is so that some apps are put in data.ext4 file. remember to reboot x3. Note that ICS folder is renamed CM10 and startup.txt has been edited.
After second boot, you can safely delete root_tmp folder to save disk space

Got it! seems to be running fine, camera/ video has some sort of tearing happening. Wi-fi & data is OK
will do more test tonight, thanks "Learning Never Ends team" :victory:

Awesome rom! I can't believe JB is already running this well on our HD2's!
Just a few remarks:
- I seem to have awefull slowdowns sometimes (Launcher FC, Play FC)
- I don't seem to find Google Now, should it be installed separately?
BR, and keep up the good work!

Thanks! Will try it and edit with feedback!
EDIT: Everything works fine! Data sometimes just dont work! Its a bit laggi, using memory optimizer helps but its not that great change!

So far all options under the Settings icon work except for viewing Storage. App does a FC every time.
The installed launcher kept freezing and rebooting the phone so I install Apex. The reboots stopped but I still get the occasional freezes. Some require me to wait for the system to catch up and sometimes I have to pull the battery. I'm running on a 1gig EXT4.
Youtube and flash player won't install from market (incompatibility message). No flash, No Veetle.
Also, would like to see the option to rearrange the soft buttons again. I like my back button over the hard back button and the home over the hard home button. :good: work guys.

[ROM] Simple Streak 1.2 - Lite ROM

Simple Streak ROM
Modified official ROM. Removed Dell Stage Launcher and other unneeded applications. ROM includes the Launcher Pro and the left Swype. I made primarily for myself, but maybe someone else will like it
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK, ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEE.
INSTALLATION:
make a backup
copy .zip to SD card
update via StreakMod Recovery
do Factory reset
UPGRADING FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS:
make a backup
copy .zip to SD card

CHANGELOG:
1.3 (size ? MB) - in testing
- updated Maps (v5.9)
- removed Swype
- new build Simple Streak kernel (many changes)
1.2 (size 91 MB) - 19. 6. 2011
- custom kernel (based on the official, simplified, overclocking option, slightly undervoltage (for longer battery life)). Original kernel is available here.
- removed QuickOffice
1.1a (size 94 MB) - 10. 6. 2011
- removed forgotten drivers that caused problems when using the camera with the "performance update"
1.1 (size 94 MB) - 10. 6. 2011
- Swype is the default keyboard
- more cleaned (removed Facebook, etc...)
1.0 (size 97 MB) - 7. 6. 2011
- based on official 354
- rooted
- cleaned
- adjusted build.prop and init.streak.post_boot.sh
- black taskbar (partially used GingerKrad from user Krad)
- change default orientation to portrait (according to instructions from user jhotmann)
KNOWN ISSUES:
- after the start to be switched on / off the display rotation settings
NOT WORKING?
Are you sure you've done a factory reset? You have to do a factory reset on the first screen (from Dell) of the recovery mode.
Still not working or causing problems (button still lights)? Maybe you're old baseband, try to download new here and upload using fastboot command.
Code:
fastboot -i 0x413c flash amss amss.mbn
Last chance. If you still have problems, try loading the original ROM ver. 354 and then reload the Simple Streak ROM. This may work
OPTIONAL MODIFICATIONS (update via StreakMod Recovery)
Landscape mode - return back to the default display orientation
Stage UI - return back to the default launcher from Dell
STK Tools - return back to the Sim Toolkit
Original kernel - if you have any problems, you can try the original kernel from Dell.
DJ-Steve KERNEL
Install the kernel from DJ_Steve ROM (thanks for his great work) and adjust some settings. After the update default frequency is set at 1.19 GHz and smartass CPU governors (can be changed via the tools available (SetCPU)). The update will not lose any user data.
DJ-Steve KERNEL INSTALLATION:
you have already installed the Simple Streak ROM (ver. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2)
copy perfupdate.zip to SD card
update via StreakMod Recovery
If update does not work, try the version without the default overclocking.
Good to See....
other custom ROM choices emerging for our beloved Streak!
Anyone try this yet?
Based upon what I've done with 351 (completely ripped out the Stage UI, Dell Sync, Amazon MP3, CoPilot Live, Evernote, Napster, Oovoo, PageOnce, Roxio Now, and Zinio Reader), leaving Swype and adding LauncherPro, the Streak should be very fast and very responsive, especially when shutting it off.
can you test netflix?

yeah ive had it on my phone for a few hours....
ive been using 354 since it come out & streakdroid before that & i think 354 is great so i jumped on this when it come out
ive got to admit i havnt done a factory reset yet as i dont want to lose my setting (i might tonight when i dont need my phone)
EDIT
portrait pics
A very clean rom. Simple and fast.
I really like it and didn't find any problem as of this moment, phone works, GPS works.
Is that possible for add adhoc network support in the next version?
Thanks Spidla, keep up the good work
Seems pretty solid, the only issue I have, is after a reboot, it is seems to be stuck in Landscape and wont auto rotate on the home screen. When I eventually get it to go Portrait everything is fine. I cleared the program cache, fixed permissions and cleared the dalvic cache, but that didn't fix the issue. Apart from that all my apps restored fine with Titanium backup root (after installing busy box) and they all work OK, there has been no force close issues either. Great work, thanks

Been using this for an hour or so and must admit I am very happy with it. Feels very fast and I love the built in portrait lock and the battery percentage mod. I think this rom is a keeper !
To the person stuck in landscape, on boot up I go to settings and toggle auto rotate on, rotate to portrait and then toggle it back off. Seems to be working for me so far...
Only question I have is that I'm using this with an older baseband (351) is that going to cause me problems ? Seems ok so far.
Cheers,
malty
Wow...will try...thanks something to play with now

Works fabulous! As soon as I started the system, it felt so light and fast! I really like it! Good job! *thumbs up!*
EDIT: The only thing I don't like is that I can't uninstall Launcher Pro and buy the full version. I just can't uninstall. Any ideas?
EDIT 2: Nevermind, I install an Unlocker and now I've got the full version installed.
Thanks again for the ROM!

just uninstall using titanium backup.of course root required! cheers!
I'm having an issue with this ROM.. I factory reset everything, davlik empty, and clear the partition as well before installing, install the ROM, and factory reset again, reboot system.
Goes to Android load screen and then goes into regular android lock screen (portrait) and then back to the Android load screen, does it a couple times and then either freezes and I have to take out battery or just freezes at Android lock screen.
I am restored back to GingerStreak now. Any suggestions?
For a multi language rom use .351. I use it with Dutch language and it is great stuff
@OP Did you also optimize the build.prop?

Sounds like you have a boot loop.
Try to go by these steps (I did it that way)
1. Put .zip file into the root of SD card
2. Boot into Recovery (I'm using Clockwork)
3. Do a dalvik cache wipe
4. I didn't clear the partition.
5. Do a factory reset in the Clockwork recovery.
6. Choose the .zip and flash the ROM
7. When it says installation completed, choose the option ''Reboot Recovery'' and press VOL UP + VOL DOWN at the same time and keep holding the power button
8. You'll get to the Dell Factory Reset screen
9. Do a factory reset (NOT FROM THE RECOVERY)
10. Reboot automatically
11. Enjoy
Also, download the ROM file again, it might be corrupted.
- Hope it works out for you, it really is a great ROM.

Hi, thanks for the rom! Silly question - how do I flash the .zip file? Do I have to rename it to update.zip and then install from sd card in the recovery mode?
No, you don't need to. You can use the recovery to install the file from any location.
I'd just like to let you know, DSP Manager works out-of-box on stock SE without replacing audio libs.

Thanks. I've managed to flash the new ROM. Get past the boot screen thinking all good until I get this message: "Sorry! The Application HTC_IME mod (process jonasl.img) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Force Close.
I've installed the compatible kernel so not sure what's gone wrong here.
All I can do is power down the device, no access to menus etc
Any advice please?

It's not a question of compatibility, it also gave that error on other phones where I also made the rom (lg optimus dual) I repeat that mistake it to be 'only immediately after the first flash ROM, tested and running perfectly

Hi, thanks for all the replies regarding this issue but reboot hasn't helped.
I've rebooted it about 5 times so it's not a first boot issue. I'll try leaving it running for a while, as you mentioned it might create the file structure etc.. will let you know how I get on.

Should I reflash the kernel perhaps and then reflash the ROM?

Quick question, will this rom work on a R800a?
Thanks, I have a little experience with flashing android phones and the iPhone. I don't have that much concrete knowledge of the "in's & out's" of the phone but I'm very good at following directions to the "T"...
Thank you very much. Looking forward to your rom

Sorry, I just sold my phone, and I can't develop for it anymore. I will keep these threads for you guys until something better will occur, but I will have some trouble to solve the problems. Thank you for all appreciations.
-- If this will help, you can still say thank you -- press the Thanks button! :good:
I was never a fan of sense, and if I would knew what is that when I bought the phone, I would have different phone now.
But, I made a version based on HTC T328W European ROM 1.73.401.4, with less sense possible without breaking HTC system.
FEATURES
- I integrated the new SOLO Launcher Free, which is very good.
- I replaced a lot of apps with better ones
- I let sense 4 lockscreen in place because I like to see who is calling before answering, and also it's not unlocking automaticaly when receive a call like a third party lockscreen - but you are free to replace this with what you want.
- I integrated Sony Bravia Engine 2 and Xloud.
- I aplied Supercharger and init.d from my other ROM.
- and many other things...
The ROM is optimized, zipaligned, odexed or deodexed at your choice.
Untill now, the ROM is very fast, stable and smooth, and it seems to be more friendly with battery. I didn't see any bugs. If you do, please tell me to solve them.
INSTALLATION
To install, it's the same procedure you know:
Connect your sdcard to computer with a sdcard adapter, or in recovery with USB Mount, and delete these folders:
.android-secure
Android

Copy this ROM zip to sdcard. Reinsert sdcard in your phone.
1. boot in bootloader (from shutt down mode, press vol down and briefly the power button at the same time and keep pressing vol down untill bootloader starts and then press power again to enter in fastboot)
2. connect your phone to computer
3. flash recovery [fastboot flash recovery maxrecovery6.img] - if you don't have a custom recovery, or if you want to try one of my versions
4. flash boot [fastboot flash boot desenboot.img] -see attachments (if you are running european version, you don't need to do that)
5. press power to return to bootloader
6. press vol down to select recovery and then press power - the phone will reboot in recovery.
7. Go advanced - wipe Dalvik cache, confirm
8. Go back, and then wipe all data/factory reset
9. Install zip from sdcard
10. choose ROM zip and confirm install
11. Wait, it will take some time
12. After install finished, reboot phone
First boot will last a litle bit longer (more minutes if your sdcard has a lower class).
After phone start, in first home screen, press home buton to start Settings phone wizard (you will see a home sign in notifications bar - that's what it means); if you don't want to do that you can't enter to your phone. The settings wizard is the classic one from htc. After that, you will figure out what to do
Enjoy!
DOWNLOADS - version 4 updated
1. Deodexed version - only app folder
2. Version with Gapps included
UPDATES:
Rebuilded ROM, removed buggy apps, slimed without gapps. These can be flashed separately if you need them. Also gapps zip will replace the calendar with stock one.
QUICK TIP:
If you like to customize the ROM, and after that to odex it, it's easy.
Download the deodexed version, flash it, remove apps you don't need, add apps you want. At this part, stay away from HTC apps, they are already striped out at maxim.
Then connect the phone to PC in charging mode, open a command prompt terminal where do you have adb installed and type:
Code:
Code:
adb remount <Enter> (this will start adb server and remount your phone system - you should see 'remount succeeded')
adb shell <Enter> (you enter in phone root shell)
dexo <Enter> (and wait for the phone to restart - it will take up to 2 min)
The odexer method is developed by tommytomatoe and presented here.
You only have to do what I wrote, the ROM is already prepared for that, and all my ROMs are.
If you choose to try this ROM, I assume that you know what you are doing, and I am not responsible if you brick your phone.
Thanks for this rom. I was actually waiting to see our phone senseless and you did it. Installed this morning, RAM management seems to be great.

Yes, the ram works well. I don't use google apps, and my top ram usage is around 280Mb, but average 180 Mb.
Now I'm preparing a version two, with some improvements.
You're welcome!
Well, i can see that Version2. Can you share what are the changes? I can see new camera, gallery app.

Well, I updated Launcher to last version, which is even better, changed camera, clock, gallery, and I added Personalize back for easy wallpaper change. I removed HTC locations which keeps to give install error, and I let only Google locations and maps.
I thought to change launcher, but after testing nova free, I came to conclusion that solo is better: low memory usage, more features (like unread counts for calls and sms - in nova these are paid); the only thing I notice in solo launcher that could make me to change it is that you can not fill a screen with shortcut because it will have lag, but you can put them in a folder instead, and open with one touch with no lag.
And I did a few other improvements.
By the way, in this ROM you can see bravia engine at work (no artifacts on white surfaces, better photo, images, videos), but also xloud - now in music listening I have to reduce volume to be confortable. But, best part is that the battery consumption is normal. When I tested those features on my other ROM with sense 5 skin, it drain 10% only in settings. I think, if I remove those parts from this ROM, the battery will last even longer, but they are to good to remove them.
Gr8 rom...! i found a small bug... When ever I try to use panorama, the camera app force closes. I don't use it.. Just pointed it if someone wants to use it. Other than that.. Loved your new rom. Great work.. Thanks for your support

I forgat to mention that, is the new GoogleCalendar, and it has some trouble with synchronization and new events. I will release until tomorrow a patch to replace this and camera. I will replace it with aCalendar free which is very good and will automate synchronize all events and birthdays from contacts.
I'm sorry for this bugs, I tried to match Jellybean appearance, and this calendar and camera was the closest thing, but seems to not be compatible with ICS.
Thank you for suggestions!
Ok, thank you for your amazing ROM ! GPS is work very-very quickly !!!!!!
Can u port Baidu roms gallery app?

Dear Carliv ! I try your patch for odexed firmware, but it still remains a problem with the calendar...
Also, the app itself the calendar disappeared after applying the patch, tried to put an analogue of the store, but it did not solve the problem.

It's supposed to disapear, the calendar, because the new one it's called aCalendar. If you still have the icon, you should clear it manualy, as I said before. And in this new one, in menu you have multiple options, between them synchronize. But, with what do you want to synchronize? with google calendar online?

That will be a little bit hard to do. Baidu develop their ROM like an "ecosystem", almost all proprietary apps are interconected and have references in framework too. I took a look at java classes from Baidu framework and I found that. But you can try one from lewaos, they seems to be similar.
Yes, it is interested in a complete two-way synchronization of events with Google.
Unfortunately, as I understand it - aCalendar not support full synchronization with Google.

I understand. I can't test this calendar for that, but you can check this page http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/12823/synchronize-with-multiple-calendars. They show you how to syncronize a calendar with google, and even this one, aCalendar.
I hope it will help you.
--------------------------
Also, you can uninstall aCalendar with ESFile Manager as Root Explorer (don't forget to delete aCalendar.odex from system/app after that), and you can copy HTC Calendar, named Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk from a stock ROM to /system/app, change permissions to rw--r--r--, reboot to recovery and delete dalvik cache, restart. That if stock calendar worked for you. I attached the files you need if you want to do that. I don't put widget too, because widget only work with sense.
Dear Carliv!
Is it possible that the standard calendar could work for your excellent firmware??

Wait, I found out why it didn't worked. Download attached zip. Unpack and copy all those apps in system/app, clear dalvik cache in recovery, and it should work now with every calendar.
I don't use gapps, and that's the reason I cut that part from it.
Odexer

bro ART is only experimental. its not usable for normal usgae.
install a clean LX bulid (honamify rom has to many additions) then u can use art for some time
AFTER INSTALLING MORE THAN 3-5 userapps or using app2sd other mods FORGET ABOUT ART!!!!
First you need to enable development option. Go to setting, about phone, tap 7 times on build number (when tapping several times, there will be message notice you need to tap .... time to enable development)
Then you can choose ART instead Davilk in RUntime (in development)
Notice that you have to do that soon when you install your ROM to be sure not confict with much application you setup later.
And when changing to ART require a very long time for first reboot.

I've tried that already...
I'm using Honimify v2 like you too.
First, do you see Development option. If not try to enable it.
Then try to enable ART in runtime select.
The only problem with ART is it need alot of space. Especially with Facebook
Thanks guys. I enabled ART successfully!!
I just reflash the ROM and enable ART with no other activity.
System UI is really smooth!!
to run ART well, you should using mounts2SD to transfer cache and other system apps from internal memory to your SD card.
After using it, no longer worry about low memory to install apps.
First backup your data from SD to your computer (should copy in MSC mode)
Then partition your SD card to 2 part. 1 in FAT 32; 1 in EXT4 (about 2GB is enough). If you don't have a card reader (most laptop help) you can using Aparted (an apps to partition your SD card directly form your phone, searching it on google play). You can also create a SWAP partition (to swap RAM) if your SD card is fast enough.
Second you can using mounts2SD to setup other things. The first reboot will take long time. But later is OK.
You can do all these thing when your phone memory become full due to many apps install . With ART turn on, about 5 apps install will take almost your phone memory.
My phone using honimify v2 (base on Mike rom CM11.0).
does art really makes different in gaming? i installed art last week and titanium backup force close so as other apps.. most of the time it force close..
Sent from my Xperia Live with Walkman using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
ART work well, loading faster. switching between game and main screen good.

[ROM] CyanogenMod 11 Nightly Builds for Nook Color

The NookieDevs are pleased to announce CyanogenMod 11 nightly builds for the Nook Color!
These experimental builds contain the latest changes to CyanogenMod and to hardware support for the Nook Color. As the name suggests, new builds are made and posted (roughly) every day; these builds are fully automatic, with no testing done before posting. As CyanogenMod 11 is still under active development, regressions and general breakage are to be expected in nightly builds!
Highlights:
Linux kernel 3.0.101, plus hardware support from TI OmapZoom's android-omap3-3.0 branch and board support forward-ported from BN kernel releases.
All of the features of CyanogenMod 11, based on Android 4.4. For Nook Color, this brings a reduced memory footprint, which leads to a better all-around user experience.
Full 2D and 3D graphics acceleration using both the GPU and the display subsystem's hardware overlay acceleration (hwcomposer).
Known issues:
Video playback is slower than on previous releases -- this is most noticeable when playing HD 720p video.
Bluetooth is broken at the moment after changes for Qualcomm Bluetooth chipsets were merged into CyanogenMod.
Current releases of Netflix do not work with CM10.2 -- version 1.8.1 is the last version known to work. If you want/need a newer release of Netflix, look into the Xposed mod, which provides a workaround for Netflix -- pastordl has done a nice writeup of the process here.
ART (the experimental Android runtime introduced in 4.4) is not supported -- if you enable it, your system will not boot. (Workarounds may exist, but they are not going to be officially supported either -- use them at your own risk.)
Download:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=encore&type=nightly
Note that an updated recovery is required to install CM11. ClockworkMod 6.0.4.8 and newer versions should work, as should other recoveries provided the required changes are included. (Ask the maintainer of the recovery if you're not sure.) NOTE: Do not use ClockworkMod 6.0.3.x builds older than 6.0.3.6, as they contain a bug which may brick your device!

Build instructions (discussion of build issues belongs in the development thread)
This release is the product of much effort by many people over a considerable period: many thanks to fattire, keyodi, eyeballer, krylon360, dalingrin, verygreen, iomonster, nemith, cicadaman, deeper-blue, thedude, mad-murdock, j4mm3r, unforgiven512, scepterr, rebellos, ryands, kmobs, tonsofquestions, hashcode, arcee, hacdan, drmarble, mateor, dhiru1602 and many more. Thanks are also due to the CyanogenMod project, upon which we are building, and Texas Instruments, which historically provided excellent support for its embedded platforms to the open-source hacking community.

As of 2014/07/25, the latest release for CM11 that is known to work is 20140105. DO NOT use the 20140606 release unless installing to SD card -- it contains over 100 MB of additional bloat and will not fit on an eMMC installation!
If you wish to use another Google apps package, and are installing on eMMC, please note that the Nook Color has what is by modern standards a limited amount of disk space available on /system (440 MB) -- the base system is currently in the neighborhood of 300 MB, so some of the larger packages will not fit. If you're offered different variants, choose the smallest one in order to avoid problems.
Please make sure that you have the correct Google Apps flashed before reporting problems involving the Google Apps (Play Store, Google Keyboard, etc.).
Other CyanogenMod builds
This is the thread for CM11 nightly builds. There are other official CyanogenMod builds for Nook Color available:
Stable releases of CM10.2 and CM10.1 -- these are the releases to use if you don't want to be on the bleeding edge.
Archived nightly builds for CM10.2, CM10.1, and CM10. You may find the last CM10 nightly (20130421) faster than the later releases, particularly during playback of HD 720p video.
Please check that your questions are in the appropriate thread. (If you're interested, there's lots of past discussion in those threads, as well as the development thread.)
Frequently Asked Questions and Troubleshooting
The install fails with errors from "set_metadata_recursive"!
The installation appears to succeed, but nothing's changed when I reboot!
You'll need an updated recovery to install CM11. For CM11 nightly builds from May 16 and later, any recovery that reports itself as ClockworkMod 6.0.4.8 or later should work; other non-CWM recoveries should work if they incorporate the necessary changes to suppor these builds (you'll have to ask their maintainers for details).
For older CM11 nightlies, any recovery that reports itself as ClockworkMod 6.0.3.6 or later should work; other non-CWM recoveries such as TWRP 2.6.3.0 or later should be fine provided the kernel is sufficiently new (you'll have to ask their maintainers for details). NOTE: Do not use ClockworkMod 6.0.3.x builds older than 6.0.3.6, as they contain a bug which may brick your device!
I installed CM11, wiped /data, and now my tablet's been booting for an awfully long time. Is something wrong?
First boot will take at least five minutes, and the boot animation currently stops many times during this process. If you've been waiting more than 10 minutes and it's still not booted up, you probably have a problem.
The soft keyboard keeps crashing!
The Play Store is acting up!
Did you flash the correct Google Apps? If on an eMMC install, are you sure your Google Apps fit on /system?
How do I install this to an external SD card?
See this excellent guide by leapinlar for instructions. It's reported that Google apps installation is broken in the SD card installer at the moment, so you may need to wait for that to be fixed.
What happened to the "Developer options" and "Performance" screens in Settings?
They're hidden by default now in CM10.1 and later. To show them, go into "About tablet" and tap the build number (for CM11 nightlies, it'll be something starting with "cm_encore-userdebug 4.4.2 KOT49H" or "cm_encore-userdebug 4.4.3 KTU84M") seven times.
How do I get the Honeycomb/ICS tablet UI?
You can't -- Google killed it off in Android 4.4.
The lock screen doesn't rotate!
The screen doesn't rotate to the sides I want!
Particularly if you're upgrading from an existing install, you may find that the preferences for screen rotations are incorrectly set. Go to Settings->Display->Rotation and check that "Auto-rotate screen" and (if you want the lock screen to rotate) "Rotate lock screen" are set.
For the allowed screen orientations, selecting 0, 180 and 270 degrees will cover the rotations that you probably want. If you want details:
Android likes to think of the "natural" orientation (0 degrees rotation) as landscape with the N key on the right side of the screen. (This is a change from CM10 and earlier, when we were carrying a hack to change this.) The degrees of rotation are counted in the counterclockwise direction, so in essence, each of the rotation settings allows the following:
0 degrees: landscape orientation with the N key on the right side of the screen
90 degrees: portrait orientation with the N key on top ("upside down")
180 degrees: landscape orientation with the N key on the left side of the screen
270 degrees: portrait orientation with the N key on the bottom ("right side up")
I enabled ART, and now my Nook Color won't boot!
ART isn't supported on Nook Color at the moment due to known issues:
The initial compiling pass that happens the first time you enable ART may cause your tablet to run out of both RAM and disk space.
Many of the Google apps packages for CM11 are incompatible with ART.
If you're currently stuck in a bootloop after enabling ART, boot into recovery and then see this post by fattire for advice on how to restore your system to a working state.
I can't get any of the ROMs or recoveries for Nook Color to boot!
Before you go any further -- are you sure you have a Nook Color and not a Nook Tablet? The two devices look almost identical, but Nook Color (model number BNRV200 -- check the fine print near the speaker grille on the back) has a dark gray bezel, while Nook Tablet (BNTV250) has a light gray or silver bezel. The two devices are not interchangeable -- Nook Color software will not boot on Nook Tablet and vice versa.
If you've got a Nook Tablet, you want to be in the Nook Tablet forums instead.
I'm having a problem with my Nook Color running CM11.
That's not a question
Okay, I'm having a problem with my Nook Color running CM11 -- is there something I can do to troubleshoot?
Glad you asked! Please check the following:
Does the problem occur with a clean install of CM11? This means wiping /data and not restoring a Nandroid backup afterwards. Don't restore system apps and/or their data in Titanium Backup either (user apps/data are okay).
Are you overclocking? If so, does the problem occur when you set the maximum clock speed to 1000 MHz or below? To be clear, we are not interested at this point in bug reports of any kind that happen if you have the maximum CPU speed set above 1000 MHz. If you're experiencing system crashes or "sleep of death" (SOD), you may also wish to try capping the CPU clock speed to 800 MHz (but if this helps, please report your problem here and fill out the hardware survey).
Do you have any patches, custom kernels, or other tweaks applied? If you do, does the problem occur without those applied? (We're not necessarily going to ignore bug reports from patched or tweaked systems outright, but it can make our job harder, and we do need to know what changes you have applied to judge whether or not the change might be relevant to your problem.)
I'm having no luck with the suggestions above. What information should I include with my bug report?
When reporting a problem, please include the following information if at all possible:
Full description of the problem -- "it crashes" doesn't count. How do you trigger the problem (or does it occur by itself)? What exactly happens when the problem occurs? How often does it happen?
For problems with apps or specific pieces of the system software: we'll almost certainly ask for a logcat of the event, so you'll save everyone some time by including it.
For problems involving system freezes, crashes, or SOD: if you can connect to the tablet via adb while it's "unresponsive", please provide dmesg and logcat output from that time. If you cannot, try power-cycling it while it's still plugged into USB, and provide dmesg output from immediately after the reboot, plus the contents of /proc/last_kmsg if that file exists (let us know if it doesn't).
For unexpected reboots: provide the contents of /proc/last_kmsg from after the reboot.
Now that everyone has squared me away (in the 10.2 thread) on the you-need-CWM-6.0.4.5-to-flash-CM11 issue, I hafta say, after 2-3 hrs, this CM11 is quite good! No hard numbers, sorry, but seems reliable, faster than 7.2, and, of course, the UI is vastly better. Waytago steven676, keyodi, fattire! Thanks!
Hello everyone,
To run off of an SD; I created a new SD (sandisk 8gb) with the latest image from Leapilar, the nightly and suggested GAPPS (gapps-kk-20140105-signed.zip). There were some error messages from the GAPPS (they scrolled off before I could really read them). The NC booted to the desktop but there was no play store.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Just curiuos if anyone has an oppinion to how cm11 is running on the device. I originally flashed cm10.1 when I first rooted and it ran INSANELY slow and laggy, probably due to the low ram etc. But was forced to run CM7 and it ran perfectly and have been running it ever since. I know that 4.4 is supposed to have lower dependencies for running on older/slower devices but anyone got some input on just how good it runs? I am going to probably try it later on tonight, it will just take me a while cause i got to backup my sons game data first or hill kill me.

Yes that's it then.
I hope this gets worked out. 4.4 was very smooth and worked well.

Thanks guys just flashed it and so far this looks great, I'd say it's smoother than 10.2 and multitasking is just a bit better. Couple of small issues came across were rebooting to recovery doesn't work for me it just reboots, also had a soft reboot and after it booted up the systemui kept crashing and wouldn't let you do anything, but a regular reboot fixes it.
Just flashed in it looks great! Feels MUCH smoother and snappier then 10.2. Minor issue that boot take a long time. It seems to me like the boot keeps freezing but eventually continues. No force closes or anything. I am trying now to enable ART and play with it a little to see if it drasticaly improves it. It seemed to make a little bit of a difference on my S3.
Edit: You may want to add to the op, DO NOT enable ART. It sends it into a reboot loop.

Yeah, actually steven, if someone has issues with ART you might wanna link here. You can recovery from an ART bootloop w/o reinstalling or anything weird.

I found out how to enable ART on the Nook Color. When you select ART as the runtime in Developer options, the tablet reboots but gets stuck in a bootloop. The problem is during bootup, a lot of files are being converted but the Nook runs out of memory. Then it crashes, reboots and tries again and never gets past it. However the boot animation takes a lot of memory during this process.
Solution: Disable boot animation. What you need to do is open the File Manager app. Go to settings (lower right icon) and General Settings. Under Advanced, Access Mode, select either User Prompt or Root Access mode. You need to alter a root file. Any prompts you get make sure to allow superuser access.
Now navigate to /system touch on build.prop and open with "Editor". Add the following line to the end of the file:
debug.sf.nobootanimation=1
Save the file and exit File Manager.
DO NOT ENABLE ART NOW!!
First make sure you did this correctly by rebooting your nook. Make sure you DO NOT see the Cyanogen logo when it boots up - it will take a while with a blank screen and then go to your standard lock screen. If you see the animation logo, you did something wrong, try again.
Now you can enable ART in the Developer Options. When it reboots, wait a while (2 min?) then you should see the optimizing apps display. A basic install with gapps has about 85 apps to convert. This will take a while.

We are working on it. There is a modification pending that might fix this but hasn't been tested yet.

Yeah, release noted and added to the FAQ. We'd known about this earlier, but it slipped my mind when I was writing up the release notes

Be aware that this may not work for you if you've installed to eMMC on a Nook Color with a 1 GB /data partition -- disabling the boot animation saves RAM, but won't prevent you from running out of disk space to store the ART compiler output (the "oat" files).

If you compiled cm-11.0 with width 480 boot animation, ART will work. Initial boot and optimiziation will be longer than with Dalvik. You also get smoother boot animation. Also, revert boot to landscape in kernel config while you're at it.

Same here - both 10.1 and now 11.0 are slow. I was hoping a clean install and CM11 would cure the slowness.
I am at work and don't have my nook with me so will have to gather data tonight. its been along time since I even turned on the nook so I am no even sure what my memory config is.
But AWESOME work all you nookie devs!
For those that need them, here are flashable zips of CWM 6.0.4.7:
EMMC Recovery: http://techerrata.com/file/eyeballer/twrp/cwm-6.0.4.7-encore-signed.zip
EMMC AltBoot: http://techerrata.com/file/eyeballer/twrp/cwm-6.0.4.7-encore-ALT-signed.zip
Also, I've built an updated TWRP 2.6.3.0 which is compatible with CM11 and would appreciate some testers to confirm everything is working, please see here and report feedback in that thread only: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49886829
wifi bug
Only issue for me so far (on the 1/29) is that if I set settings/wifi/advanced to "keep wifi on during sleep/only while pugged in" it won't re-connect when waking up. Have to re-connect manually. Leaving wifi on permanently for now.

drmarble posted a patch in the dev thread, so you can fix it if you're building yourself.
Sadly, the official nightlies aren't fixed yet. So I can confirm this known bug
I also had a reboot while displaying a gif in QuickPic. When it came back, the default launcher was reset and its init messages were shown
It's the first reboot I ever had on CM11. I attached the last_kmesg for your troubleshooting pleasure. I hope there's something valuable in there
