rooted nt 16gb; sanitize android device for sale - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

What is the easiest/best way to sanitize an android device (or, more correctly, the apps) for sale? My preference is to leave the apps & books for value but can totally wipe if that's my best options.
I haven't done banking or anything super secure but wifi security, passwords, etc, most importantly the stuff I'm NOT thinking of.
thanks much

Sanitize? Probably soap and water. Or Lysol disinfectant.

Erase and deregister should accomplish what you want. You can also do a full factory reset. I won't give instructions on that, but you can search it here and get detailed instructions. I have done both at different times and they appear to clear all the data.

This is unnecessary work.
If you are on the stock OS, with a 16gb NT that is rooted, use indirect's app to unroot. Once complete, make sure to deregister from the device completely in settings (not sure if his app does this).
If you have used his other app to flash cwm recovery or have any recovery other than stock, use his recovery app to flash back to the stock recovery.

Clear Data - rooted Nook
No need to unroot.
1. Install Titanium Backup.
2. Open it. In the upper right there is a small box with a checkmark in it. Click this box.
3. Scroll down to - "RUN - Wipe data for user and system apps."
4. Select Run.
5. All your apps will be listed and selected. Click the green arrow in the upper right corner.
6. All personal data (usernames, passwords, logins, etc) will be removed.
7. Scroll down to - "RUN - Delete all backups."
8. Run this.
9. If ROM Manager is installed ensure that you delete any existing backups.

You MUST deregister it from Barnes and Noble or the new owner won't be able tp register it. Wiping it will NOT remove BN registration!
I know this isn't what you were asking, but its really important!

Leaving the apps and eBooks on is problematic. If you're using the B&N OS, you have to deregister the tablet before someone else can register it. That will remove any apps or eBooks installed, since B&N links them to your user account. The problem is similar if you've rooted and installed another OS -- the Play Store likewise links apps and books bought there to the Google account specified in the user settings. Removing that account deauthorizes that content. Working around that means leaving your Google account connected to the device, so your buyer ends up with access to your email, calendar, Google+/Picasa photos, etc.
In short, factory reset and unregister (as explained elsewhere) works best to protect your personal data, but prevents you from reselling the apps and eBooks you've installed. Of course, you still are able to use those on other devices you own.

sanitize
I know I am really late but maybe someone will see this at some point - interfacing with the OS (any OS - Android, Linux, Windows, MAC, etc.) to delete data doesn't actually remove the data from the memory space. What happens is the location of the entry point for that data is removed from the table giving the appearance that the data was deleted but if it is not overwritten then the data can still be easily recovered. The Defense Security Service (DSS) has methods that are approved for use on various memory types in order to give the government and government contractors the ability to sanitize memory of classified data.
SaniDroid, available on Google Play and soon on AndroidPit employs the DSS method outlined for Flash EEPROM, the memory type of choice to store user data on smart phones.

[FIX] Re-Registering NookColor with B&N

I hope this helps everyone! I followed the directions for Auto-Nooter particularly the part where it tells you to De-Register your device with B&N. After auto-nootering there did not seem to be a way to relaunch the app that allows you to sync with B&N. Here is how I get re-registered:
Open NookColor Tools
Tap All Settings
Find the options listed "Wireless"
There is 3 options for Wireless, choose the second one in the list.
This will open up the Barnes and Noble starting wizard.
Press Continue with setup, and it will ask you to login to B&N or Create a new account.

I stumbled upon this today too, can vouch that it does work.
Does anyone know why there are multiple "Wireless" entries listed after autonootering in the NookColor Tools?? BTW, there are multiples of some others too.....Thks
If you try each one, they open up different wifi settings menus, one for the quick access from the notification bar, one for the actually settings menu wifi access, and one for the wizard at the beginning.
Does this fix the auto restore that keeps happening ?
If you reregister the device, will it prevent the nook color from auto restoring the software as it randomly seems to do ?

????? Care to elaborate? I dont have this problem.
After rooting my nook, I've registered it to my B&N account like normal, but none of my past purchases show up. It just shows 2 books, the 2 nook manuals. Do I need to refresh the list or something?
Congratulations self, you're blind. Just noticed the refresh icon on the Library screen.

I'm a little confused, I do not see any mention of de-registering my nook in the auto-nooter instructions.
How to Use:
Before you begin:
* To update to 1.0.1 you must do a complete wipe.
* You must update to 1.0.1 to use AutoNooter 2.12.25 Instructions Here.
1 You must already have a registered NOOKcolor
2 You must have a Gmail/Youtube linked Account. IF you used a Gmail account for B&N Registration you should use that one for this process.
3 You must either have dd (Linux) or WinImage (Windows) software.
4 You must have an external microSDCard reader or this will not work. Do NOT use the NC.
5 You must have enough intelligence to follow instructions.
Let's get started:
1 Download Auto-Nooter from here: auto-nooter-2-12-25.img.zip
2 Linux: Unzip and use dd if=auto-nooter-2-12-25.img of=/dev/sdcard
2 Windows: Unzip and use WinImage to "Restore Virtual Hard Disk Image" to your SDcard.
2 Windows Alternative: https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download
3 Unplug your NOOKcolor from computer. (If Plugged in.)
4 Insert AutoNooter SDcard into your NOOKcolor.
5 Plug the USB cable into your computer and your NOOKcolor. (This will boot up the NOOKcolor.)
6 Your NookColor will reboot when it's done.
That was the hard part, now to the simple stuff.
7 Upon boot unlock your screen.
8 At the Android Welcome Screen skip Sign In.
9 Enable Location Services when given the option.
10 Connect to Wifi and launch Youtube from "Extras".
11 Click the Menu button (The one RIGHT of the Up Arrow).
12 Select "My Channel" and Login using your Gmail Account.
13 Exit Youtube and Launch Gmail from "Extras".
14 Sync your Gmail Account and Exit. (If it fails to sync that is fine.)
15 Open up Market and Accept Terms and Service.
If you made it this far your nook should be successfully Rooted. Go Download an App to make sure.
16 Enable Non-Market Installs by running the NookColor Tools App.
17 If your Youtube fails to launch Uninstall and Reinstall Youtube from /data/app
18 Go to Settings > Device Info > SdCard > UnMount > Format
Complete Wipe:
1 8 Failed Boots > Wipes /system
2 Factory Reset > Wipes /data
You must do both of these to completely wipe clean your NOOKcolor.

Quick question. I have a NC autorooted and its working great. I'd like to give to my GF so I need to remove my gmail/BN account information and setup one for her. Do I need to de-register with B&N and wipe the NC to be able to reregister it with her gmail/youtube/BN account info?
Thanks.

I have this problem as well. Almost immediately after updating and booting into the pre-rooted 1.1 V2, the Nook reboots and loads the regular 1.0.1 software. None of my previously installed apps show up, but I still have Market (non-working), Rom Manager, and Root. Luckily, I made a recent backup and can get my stuff back, but it's on the 1.0.1 software. I still haven't figured out how to keep 1.1 V2 installed, and I'm not sure if my 950MHz UV/OC kernal 'stuck' either. Someone suggested 'Freezing' Device Manager in Rom Manager, so I'm going to give that a shot.

I have the same problem. Its SO annoying. Constantly back and forth with the resets. I was the one who suggested "freezing" device manager but this is not an acceptable solution. I want to be able to use the B&N store also =/
I've actually decided to give up on this update for now. I'm staying on the 1.0.1 rooted software. Every time I upgrade to 1.1v2 it auto defaults to an older version. "Freezing" device manager did not help.
[UPDATE] So I gave it one more shot. This time I removed all the permissions of any file in system/app that seemed B&N related. Rebooted. Then I used Rom Manager to update to 1.1V2. So far no issues, and I can use the Library feature. I'm still afraid to click the "lend book" and I think I will completely remove it as soon as I figure out how (there doesn't seem to be a matching apk in system/app).

How did this work out for you? Did you try the Shop button?
Everything works that i need. The Shop icon says application not installed but i can use the library, reader, and accidentally hit the lend book feature without the dreaded reboot.

FYI, I found out the random resets are caused by Titanium Backup. When you restore system settings with it, I think the AndroidID gets changed and then it resets. I restored from stock, installed Titanium Backup, restored ONLY the apps NOT data and I'm set.
I can goto the shop or use Lend Me with no issues.

Somehow I do not think this is the issue... Since this is happening to me and I do not even have Titanium Backup. Everytime I turn on Wifi it reregisters my Nook... So frustrating.
I am thinking of purchasing a used NC @ v1.1
Do I simply create or new B&N account? Or is there a de-register -> re-register process? Or is this something that the seller needs to do?
TIA

Idiot Android newbie needs desperate help...

Hey guys....here's my situation.
I bought a Blu Touch Book 7.0 plus off of Amazon. Got it two nights ago. It's a true phablet. 512 RAM / 512 ROM - I was a little concerned but figured as long as I could root it, I was good to go.
Anyways - no I am not looking for a root. I was able to root it relatively easily after an initial failed attempt which required a factory reset - if anyone is interested, it required PDANET+ & UnlockRoot, SuperOneClick and other methods failed. I threw in a class 10 SD, and modded Android so all apps would be downloaded/installed to my SD card (I did this using the SDK & command prompt in USB debugging mode). I had researched apps previously and began to furiously download and tweak. I threw in a T-Mobile SIM, and everything was going well, I was very happy. It actually seems to be a well made device, though it's a little bulky and the phone function works much better with a bluetooth headset.
Then, I deleted Phone.apk. Despite all apps being downloaded/installed to my SD card, space was still at a premium and I had downloaded a third party dialer. I figured worst case, I could do a factory reset and/or could simply re-download the file (I was actually about to download a good backup program tonight after work, I've been busy the past two days and my anxiety to set up other stuff got the better of me). There was no immediate issue, but shortly later I got the dreaded 'com.android.apk has stopped' (or what not) message popping up constantly. I reset the device, it booted up but it was not reading my sim, and was missing icons. That's when I did something stupid-er. I found a Phone.apk file on the net, downloaded to my device, and copied it to the relevant directory.
Since then, when I boot up, first it shows that Android is upgrading, then it shows the 'unfortunately, the process com.android.apk has stopped.' I click 'Okay,' and it keeps popping up. I wasn't able to delete the wrong Phone.apk as there was not enough time for a longpress between error messages. I was able to initiate a factory reset - I was rather relieved - I had learned a bit the past day or two via trial and error, and I would be able to re-do everything perfectly this time.
But the factory reset did not revert to the right 'Phone.apk' file. So the problem still exists....
If anyone can help me, I would be oh so grateful....thanks...
A factory reset clears all user data & apps. If you deleted the phone app from system, you will have to reflash a stock zip, which I'm assuming you don't have, or find the stock apk and put it back in the right place as a system app.
If you have Titanium Backup you can use that to do it, provided you can find the stock phone apk.
Well, a problem is, I doubt that I will be able to find any ROMs or Phone.apk's for my device. At least not for a little while. There are some ROMs out there I believe for the original Blu Touch Book - but the original has a diff processor and is running Froyo rather than ICS.
Now, if I somehow can find a workable Phone.apk or a workable ROM, how do I go about flashing/copying? I can hook up to a PC (though I'm not aware of any USB storage mode that I can turn on), but the phone itself is just about unusable unless I can manage to delete the wrong Phone.apk file, as long as the file is simply missing it will boot up without the relevant features. And - let me repeat that I did a factory reset to try and fix this - it didn't fix my problem but it erased my apps and my root access....I can probably restore root but it won't stop the warning notification from popping up non-stop.
I was able to boot into safe mode previously - but it didn't help. If there is an applicable recovery mode, I can't figure that out. To my knowledge, there is no USB Mass Storage option that I can turn on.
I purchased from Amazon, so luckily I can return the item, and worst case they review it's condition and charge a restocking fee. Of course, I was looking forward to receiving this device for more than a week and have been obsessed with it since it's arrived...and I am also temporarily back to using Sprint (in Phoenix) on a 3.5" Windows Phone (I am an ex Windows Mobile fan boy, Windows Phone disappoints) after experiencing 6 MB/s 3G speeds on T-Mobile for a day or so (on a 7 inch screen and on a prepaid plan far cheaper than what I pay Sprint). I was about to port my number. Basically I am depressed. An irony here - I'm pretty sure Amazon sold me a used device that was advertised as new. On initial boot, the Android set up program did not launch. Upon my first factory reset, the set up program launched, and the dialer skin was different than what it was out of the box. The 'refuse product if this seal is broken' sticker on the packaging was partially broken, too, although it appeared to be partially in tact. But now if I try to play that angle, I come off like a scam artist...
Anyways thank you very much for your reply...all attempts to help are appreciated quite a bit...
Taking things one step at a time, let me simplify my request:
How can I delete (or replace) a system file from my device (in this case, the incorrect Phone.apk) remotely via a USB connection? I have the sdk installed on my computer, I can connect the device to my computer, but I can't really use the device until the file is deleted. Is it possible to push via ADB? Something to that effect? Will the 'push <local> <remote>' command work even if I do not have root access? What syntax is used to specify the path? Is it possible to simply delete a file without replacing it?
Does the Phone.apk file have to be specific to my device or could it be specific simply to my mobile carrier/frequency bands and/or ICS? I realized the Phone.apk file I copied to the device earlier was for the Huawei m835, a CDMA phone running Froyo...
Or, am I simply SOL?
Thanks....
One of the things about Android devices, as a former Windows Mobile user also, is that factory resets work differently as you've found out the hard way. In WM you could delete any system file you wanted and a hard reset would restore it. On Android if a required /system file is deleted you are SOL unless you have a way of restoring a backed up version. Its highly recommended IMO to have a working recovery like CWM, TWRP and a backup before you go messing around with /system files. But with a generic android device its probably not possible to find a recovery to install. You cannot write to the /system directory without root access, adb will give you an error. You may be able to use a phone.apk from another device with the same version of android.
I did find a Phone.apk from a device with the same manufacturer, on the same frequencies, with the same screen res, running the same version of Android. I have the full System/App folder if needed.
And I may have restored root access using UnlockRoot (I have read iffy things about the program but again it's all that worked for me initially). (EDIT - I do now have root access, I was able to verify the Superuser app on the device)
However when I load the SDK and type in 'adb root,' after the 'daemon started successfully,' I quickly get an 'error: closed.' And then when I try to push the Phone.apk file to the relevant folder, I get 'failed to copy / permission denied' (EDIT as I was warned of)
Is there anything I can load onto my SD card to help? I can run probably install an APK off of my storage card. Although I am very limited in what I can do - between error messages I can only get in one quick touch of the screen (and it usually takes a few tries per touch)...I can't do anything that requires a long-click...and I had also deleted the stock keyboard and the stock browser...limits me further...
Now, if I can delete my current Phone.apk and upload the stock keyboard, I am certain I can figure this out. There has to be some way to do this....
EDIT// I packed it up to return to Amazon. If there was a solution out there, oh well...
Like I said you may have been able to use Titanium to install it as a system app and that may have taken care of things once you set it as the default app and/or removed the faulty one.
^^ Right, but the challenge was installing Titanium Backup, and then using it while the error notification popped up on the screen every split second. Unless I am missing something, only way to download it would have required me to buy a Bluetooth keyboard and struggle to pair it so I could type (I had a USB keyboard that didn't work), maybe reassociate my device with my Google account (struggling to type letter by letter between each 'OK' click), have the apk sent to my device over unsecured wifi, put the .apk on SD (or just delete the wrong apk and reboot), and then hope that I could use Titanium backup to do the trick without the ability to press anything on the screen for longer than a half second or so...
Actually, I guess that could have worked, provided the Bluetooth keyboard worked. Of course, there's the chance that the Phone.apk I found for the similar device, might not have worked. Anyways, late now. I have a new one on the way, and I was shipped a slightly used one to begin with anyways, might be for the better. I kinda feel bad that the phone is now 'defective' as a result of my impatience/etc but then again I didn't do anything that the instruction manual warned against, not to mention the instruction manual says a factory reset restores factory data, which I think infers that it restores essential system components. And as much as I was an idiot, I don't do anything which should have caused a nearly non-recoverable error. That's on Google's end. Google doesn't even really discourage rooting and if you allow Android on a device with 512MB rom...
Learning experience. One of the first things I do when I get my new one, I download a backup program and find out if there is a recovery mode. In any event, I won't make the same mistakes twice. Thanks to those who replied or considered replying. Anybody has tips for the future, that aren't obvious or easily found, feel free...

then remount system as rw using

I installed PDAnet+ on my phone & PC (as a means of installing a driver for the TB Plus). Then, I ran a program called 'UnlockRoot,' followed instructions, and I had root. UnlockRoot v3.1 is what is installed on my computer.
I moved on awhile ago to the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 (Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 would be my best recommendation for a budget phablet). The Touch Book plus only held up so well (though I still have it and it still works albeit with no speaker and a screen that needs to be color-filtered due to a mysterious type of screen damage).
DOH!

[GUIDE] install OpenGapps on Stock ROM (Chinese version, VIE-AL10C)

I have recently acquired a P9 Plus (Chinese Version) and one of the issues with all of the Android phones sold in China is that they don't have Google services (Google in banned in China because of its refusal to comply with the Chinese internet regulations). There are ways you can install bits and pieces from the Huawei app store but it would be difficult to get all of the Google services together. There are ways already posted on XDA where you can install contact sync and app store one by one, but to me downloading through apkmirror (or any other site) could be a risk since those are uploaded by anonymous users and unless you can decompile the code and try to understand what's in those, it would be difficult to know if the apk is or is not doing something that are not designed for.
This guide assumes that you have unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP on it. Also I am not sure if you need to root the phone (which is pretty much for free once you had TWRP installed) but I had my phone rooted by the time I installed OpenGapps, obviously during this process you would have got the ADB drivers installed.
This process will wipe all user data, so please make sure you do a backup on your phone first.
First step is to download the installer zip to PC (or to SD card, I didn't have a spare SD card so I just download directly to PC), go to http://opengapps.org/, choose ARM64 (I know it is not actually ARM processor but somehow this package works, may be ARM and Kirin have compatible instruction set? That will sure make custom ROM development a lot easier!), 6.0 for OS version and choose the package you would like to have. I used nano but I am sure for other packages would work too.
Now go to TWRP on your phone. If you have downloaded the installer on your SD card you can just do Install -> select the zip and flash. I downloaded to my PC so I have to use the Sideload route, basically go to Advanced -> ADB sideload and simply do adb sideload FILE_NAME.zip (replace FILE_NAME with the actual OpenGapps package name you have downloaded). After that I originally tried to wipe caches and simply reboot but that didn't work for me.
So here is the trick, you will need to wipe Data and Internal Storage as well. I know, this sounds crazy but this is how it worked for me. If you managed to get other combinations to work feel free to suggest here as well.
What I did was I went to Wipe -> Advanced Wipe wiped Cache/Dalvik Cache, Internal Storage and Data (i.e., check everything except System and Micro SDCard) and then did a wipe.
After that, Reboot -> System.
Now once you are done with the set up, you will be greeted with an "uglier" version of the original UI (no fancy gold color!), but guess what, you should be able to see Google Play Store and you should be able to add Google accounts in Settings -> accounts.
For some reason I noticed if you try to add Google accounts you seem to be able to add one only (may be I overlooked something) so what I did was I went to the GMail app then go to Settings -> Add Account and that allows me to add the other Google accounts. Once you add a Google account on the GMail app it should be visible in other Google apps (App Store/Movies/Games, for instance) as well.
Any questions/better ideas feel free to post them below.

I don't think locking does (at least with my experience in using the dload method), however if you want to unlock again later on it will wipe the phone. I'd recommend you to backup the phone before performing any of these actions though.

why is the dload not working in some instances? like on AL10, I cannot perform the dload update method, i have the latest update of emui 5.0 thats why i wanna re-lock then downgrade using hi-suit, then flash twrp and flash the updated version. it sucks,
but maybe you can help me on how to do the dload update.

Malware filled phone?

Hey guys, how are y'all doing?
Here's a little background on my problem:
A year ago bought a cheap-ass smartphone for my mom, from a big supermarket chain in my country that was selling french phones cheaply, it was only 60€ and my mom needed a phone, so there it is!
Anyway cut to the present, the phone is riddled of what I suspect is malware that installs itself as soon as I remove it such as Free Games, com.google.toolkit, MiniChrome, N62Androidpt, System Component, adservice, and a couple others.
It also keeps switching wi-fi off, and turning on that option that allows apps to be installed from unknown sources, and worst of all it keeps opening the phone in built browser with adds, and even porn sites on occasion, which is really not desirable as my very young aged nieces love stealing the phone and try to use it.
I installed malwarebytes, also did a factory reset to no avail it fixed nothing.
So I decided to flash a stock rom to see if I could get rid of it, searched around and found a repository of stock roms or firmwares or whatever it's called (I'm not too familiar with this side of smartphones), which I'd love to post, but apparently can't because I've last than 10 posts: doc-doapi.com/EM/selecline/smartphone/
It has a lot of roms for different models of my brand.
Used the UpgradeDownload - R2.9.2015 tool that was in that folder and flashed it successfully.
After I turned on the device it opened the new phone setup process, logged in to my google account, and restores my stuff like contacts, and a few trusted google apps from before the flash, but it soon started again to install those malware apps I stated up there on it's own, and it was soon in the same state as before...
Anyway here's some info about my phone that probably should've gone to the top.
It's a Selecline phone
Model S4S5in3g
Android version: 5.1
Kernel version: 3.10.65
Compilation number: S3S5in3g.V1.2_20160307
At the back it has a sticker and another model number 870712 which I used to find the folder on that repository of stock roms.
And that's all in a big nutshell, anyone has any tips?
Thanks.
lil' bump
Do you have login credentials for this Auchan website where you found the ROMs? It is asking for a login ID and password. I need ROM for Model S6S5IN3G.
Quick tip for getting rid of Malware even before they start. Go to Settings and check Data Usage. See which apps are using lots of data (downloading junk into your device). Note if there are any strange sounding apps that are downloading a lot of data, especially if it is not an app that you yourself were directly using.
Next, flash the stock ROM again. Once you flash the new ROM, you have to find a way to root the device. Try KingRoot. Then after the phone is rooted, go to Playstore and download SD Maid. Run SD Maid and give it root access. In the settings for AppControl of SD Maid, allow it to show system apps. Then run app control and freeze any strange-looking user apps (or anyone that was downloading a lot of data) and system app that are not required.
Please, let me know about the website and how to access the ROMs.
As mentioned before, install a clean room again. Copy virustotal app from the attachment of these post (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77053739&postcount=11) to SD-card and install it. Turn wifi on and let it run. Control every app and the system-apps. Post a screenshot of the findings. If there are findings, then the room is infected. The only way to deal with this, is to root it, install rootexplorer an kill the infected app. This can be dangerous, if for example, the lauchner is infected, an alternative launcher must first be installed and set as default, before you can kill the infected one (otherwise you will own a useless phone until you flash it again ;o).
Hey guys, thanks for trying to help.
I tried literally everything before, I've even somehow got a kitchen up and running and I removed everything that looked suspicious and all those bran add-ons from the rom, but even then I'd still get infected.
I didn't really try the antivirus route though and to be honest I already shelved that phone, but I'm kinda bored, so I'll try y'all suggestions, an extra working phone can always come in handy.

Girlfriend virus

Redmi 4x satoni(not rooted or flashed)
Is there any way to detect root by exploit, apps like Kingo root and king root and many other one click root apps do this kind of thing where they use and exploit in the Android system and root the phone using it and similarly a malware can do the same?
(I'm assuming this is what it is)(spear phishing)
Can an apk file really gain root access and rewrite your device's rom with a malware in it, is that a thing?
I have installed a third party app where it just disappeared into the background(most likely social engineering) and I tried all avs but it came clean even went into safe mode and settings and tried app managers and settings but all failed
Next I tried the factory reset and the symptoms still persists
Note that I have created new accounts and changed passwords and have MFA on but is there any way for it to reinfect because I'm using the same device to create the new account?
Like is it because it infected my google access or something to come again after factory reset
Thanks
If you think a girlfriend virus is bad, just wait until you get married.
To answer your question....
Android is designed to be very rootkit-resistant. Features such as Verified Boot prevent unsigned/modified images from loading if the bootloader is locked; while it is possible for a malicious app to use an unpatched exploit to root the device every time it runs, any modificaiton made to any critical partiion such as /boot and /system would be detected, and the device would warn the user that the system is corrupted.
Since you've removed the app from your device and performed a factory reset, you should be safe. Good job on using MFA, by the way.

No I think I misunderstood there were two apps that I downloaded one disappeared into the back ground (which is causing more havoc) and is undetectable by android avs and i m having trouble removing(got from a sketchy link from my gf)
The second app was just an Instagram app follower which ran in the background and I could uninstall directly(got from playstore)
I want to know how to detect and remove the first one

What makes you think the first app is still there? If you've performed a factory reset, it's gone - unless it downloaded again when you restored your Google account to your device.
Are you sure you're not mistaking a built-in app?

Yes I'm sure as my accounts getting hacked my personal media getting leaked permissions asked repeatedly and sim getting disabled
Also I'm trying not to log in to my google account and see how that works
Although I have tried to make new accounts from scatch and start from a clean new slate from factory reset it it may be the device itself I'm afraid
Social engineering-spear phishing(I think)
Redmi4x satoni
I was asked to click on a link and download an apk by my girlfriend and as soon as I downloaded it, it disappeared and I was asked to delete the apk
(I do not have access to the link also)
Later I realized that it tracks permissions, media and keyboard(except of exactly who I'm texting to because of android sandbox)
I tried FACTORY RESET but the symptoms still persisted (like getting hacked again and my private info getting leaked, sim deduction and detection of sim card and permissions being asked again and again even though I allowed it)
I checked all the settings of my phone and nothing is abnormal(I'm not rooted)
Is it possible that a used account could somehow transmit virus because I had a nasty malware on my phone so I factory reset my phone but the symptoms still remain so I used a new google account and others also but it still comes back so I'm guessing its the kernel or the ROM that got infected
I tried all avs but they all came clean and I'm certain that my android is infected with something
First and foremost I need to know how to DETECT the malware (to know which app is causing this)
And second how to REMOVE the malware
Thanks.
Which OS version? If not running on Pie or higher it's suspectable to the Xhelper family of partition worming malware
Yeah sounds like you got a worm... nasty critters.
A reflash may be the best option although if it is Xhelper it can now be removed without a reflash.

Reflash it to stock firmware. If you can upgrade to Android 9 consider doing so for security purposes. It may have performance/functionality drawbacks though for your application though, not sure as I never used 6,7 or 8.
Make sure you reset all passwords, keep social media, sales and trash apps off the phone. Always keep email in the cloud ie Gmail or such.
Run Karma Firewall. Be careful what you download and especially install... don't sample apps unless you have a real need for that particular app. Once installed don't allow apps to update as they may try to download their malware payload, a way to bypass Playstore security.

I disagree, unless Xiaomi/Redmi's AVB/dm-verity implementation is useless, it should prevent a persistent rootkit.
I suspect this has little to do with the phone and more to do with reused passwords and other "organic" security failure.

The security measures that prevent persistent rootkits have been in place long before Android 11.
The most common root cause of a breach of security is the failure to ensure sufficient security in the first place. Simple passwords, reused passwords, no MFA, connected accounts, etc. Yes, there are plenty of Android viruses out there, but all of them "live" in the user data space. Of course, there may be unpatched exploits that allow root access, but these must be exploited every time the app is run. An app cannot modify the boot or system partitions without tripping AVB (if the bootloader is locked) whereupon the device would warn that the OS is corrupted.
At the end of the day, it's much much easier to simply use social engineering or other methods to gain someone's credentials, rather than trying to hack their device.

Yeah Android 9 was where the hole for the Xhelper class of rootkits was plugged for good. It runs securely unless you do stupid things. This phone is running on that and its current load will be 3 yo in June. No malware in all that time in spite of the fact it's heavily used. It can be very resistant to attacks if set up and used correctly.

I was initially thinking his was running on Android 8 or lower. Forgot On Android 9 and higher (except for a big hole in Android 11 and 12 that was patched if memory serves me correctly) about the only way malware is getting into the user data partition is if the user installs it, doesn't use appropriate builtin settings safeguards or by an infected USB device. Any phone can be hacked if the attacker is sophisticated and determined enough to do so... in my opinion. Even if this happens a factory reset will purge it on a stock phone unless the hacker has access to the firmware by remote or physical access. Never allow remote access to anyone...

You're welcome.
I retract that (post #12) as I forgot it is running on Android 11. Like V0latyl said it's probably the password(s) that were compromised if a factory reset didn't resolve the issue other than the exceptions I stated in post #16.
Also i found this on the net if that helps with the situation
Be especially wary of spear phishing. Do not click on any weird link sent by your closest friends, or if you feel compelled to do so, open it from a tightly secured operating system (a fresh VM) where you have never logged in to your social networks.
And
Factory resets are not enough to santitize the device.
Also I'm a bit scared as some people on the net have told that in some cases that even a flash might not wipe it as it resides in the boot logo or some places where flashes do not reach or in flash ROMs chips(but of course this is all very rare)
I am very fascinated and would like to learn more about it any suggestions would be helpful
