PER-APP-COLOR, Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel (same that allows you to scale apps individually and choose their interface). See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

Older versions:
v1.4 to 1.991
Maintenance update, bugfixes and patches.
Based on latest CM10 preview.
v1.4
- Breakthrough: We can finally target the actual layout containers inside the apk. If an app brings only phoneUI, you see it right away as you only have one UI option. If it brings ten, you will be able to pick each one of em. We're finally away from this Phone/Phab/Tab nonsense.
- Total Hybrid engine revamp, alot less clutter, many bugfixes, apps wont make jumps when you load them up because their actual size is calculated by the engine.
- New option: "large" to trick an app thinking the device has a real big screen. some need it, like amazon kindle to jump into tabUI. some even react on it, gdrive will slightly adapt its layout - makes only sense if you give it a small dpi though.
- Panel is still growing. It brings new options and new preferences that can even change android system settings.
- All recent cm merges (Trebuchet, googles 4.1.1 r4 with a whole bunch of fixes for memory leaks, etc)
- Quick access hybrid properties by longpressing a recent app
- TabletUI toggles
v1.3
- merged latest cm10 fixes (gps, etc)
- some additional fixes to tablet mode
- paranoid got its own dir in /system/etc/paranoid - pad.prop is not properties.conf
- a clean backup properties file is shipped, you can make a full reset in the panel in case you lost it with all the settings you made
- force option can be activated in the panel, good for widget scaling
- the DPI sliders in the panel read min/max props from properties.conf, define them as you like
v1.2 preview
- fixed rotation and sensors
- fixed tablet mode
- adjusted some pad/pal configurations
- paranoid settings panel improvements
- etc

How to change an apps Layout and size

I tried 1.2.0 and found several keys were off kilter for international keyboards - no £ for instance on the Asus UK dock, I'm curious to know if that's been resolved before I consider committing.

AOKP = Kind of like AOSP/CM9, but with extra tweaks and settings. I am using Hydrogen ICS (which has been closed, project ended) and now I am looking for another good AOKP ROM. So I will be checking this one out, I was a huge fan of Foxhound 3.0 (gingerbread)
Anyway, screenshots are not needed. It's almost the same as CM9/AOSP, it's the pure google experience like on the Galaxy Nexus. Only with some added features.

In my opinion, AOSP/AOKP ROMs are much better then Samsung. Once I flashed my first one I never went back to Samsung ROMs. It's simple, if you like the Galaxy Nexus and pure google, you will want to flash the AOKP version. If you like TouchWiz a lot, go for the Sasmung ROM.
Pure google = faster, cleaner and better looking, plus you can tweak a lot of stuff with the AOKP settings.

Some of you may have heard of tablet mode and if you have tried it you know well that it smashes your phone. Apps are small, their layout is screwed, things overlap, crash or stop working, Google Play forbids you to download, if you tried AOKP you cant even use launcher and phone. In short, it is a mess.
PARANOIDANDROID changed that. It does not "heal" tablet mode, it obliterates the boundaries. You define how big or small apps are, you define in which UI they display, no matter if your phone runs in tablet or phone mode, which also you can define. Customize every single entity on your phone, lockscreen, navigationbar, system-components, widgets, apps. If you prefer stay with your three bearpaw buttons + drop-down curtain or switch to a combined navigationbar + drop-up notificationcenter, enjoy Youtube in 3D, Gmail and settings in 2-columns, Chrome in its better mobile UI, etc. Nothing overlaps, nothing crashes, everything works as you'd expect. This is completely new ground and has never been realized before, it is lightyears from tablet mode.
We created it to establish the idea that tablet/hybrid mode can indeed work and that is was an error on Googles side to use the same layout for high resolution devices that is used on tiny little things like htc wildfire. We saw how badly build.prop tablet-mode was milked so we decided to remain closedsource until the codebase is mature enough to publish. Our first repos went public last week and the rest will follow soon, i will personally commit the hybrid sourcetree into CM9. Until then, do not ask us for sources, we have good reason to do it like this and when it's out people will know why, they will see something that works, not features for show. We are still fully open to ports. As long as they stay true to our vision and base on CM9.

TIPS AND TRICKS
HOW TO INSTALL
-If you are on cm9 rom then you can install directly without wipe so that all your data will be safe but to remain on the safer side i suggest to do a complete wipe before flashing this rom
You need to wipe all things if you are come from any other rom except cm9
HOW TO APPLY ANY SIZE THEME FROM THEME CHOOSER(MDPI,HDPI,XHDPI,WVGA AND OTHERS)
-Download the theme you want and install it and then go settings\paranoid settings\hybrid settings\list of apps\all and select theme chooser and select a phone ui and lower the dpi from 160 if u want to apply bigger themes than mdpi and put dpi 160 if u want mdpi theme.hurray! now u can apply any theme on this rom.1st rom to feature this.thanks to darkknight for pointing it out. There are still many hidden facts.Maybe u can find one
SIZE ISSUE
-Some apps in tablet mod are too big to fit our screen like camera so change its ui to phone ui and also try to use some 3rd party lockscreen because the built in lockscreen a little unfit to our device.
you can change dpi of any apps so change it that you find suitable
HOW TO
*long press power button and select toggle statusbar to hide\unhide the statusbar.
*overclock or set the default governer to performance to have a better experience.
*check softkeys under paranoid settings to have softkeys on statusbar
*DON'T REDUCE THE DENSITY OF ANY APP LESS THAN 120 OR THE APP WILL FORCE CLOSE
*u can switch the ui from tablet ui to phone ui under paranoid settings\hybrid settings\list of apps\select app and change the ui and density\hit apply.u can change the density and ui of all system and downloaded apps here.
*report some major bugs and do leave some feedback
LIST OF APPS SUPPORTING TABLET UI Link
WARNING
-Do not disable both tablet ui and hybrid mode in paranoid settings or u may get a bootloop.
WHAT IS THIS ROM?
-It is a cm9 based rom having all features a cm9 rom can do plus some extra cool features added to it.this rom has some features that is just present in this rom like ability to apply any size theme in theme chooser, having bottom statusbar with real tablet ui,apps with tablet ui,navigation buttons that looks good on our screen and many more ,
HOW TO AGAIN ENABLE TABLET UI AGAIN ONCE YOU LOOSE IT BY DESELECTING TABLET UI AND REBOOTING
-Open up the any root explorer and go to system and mount system as read and write(r\w) and long press build prop and select open in text editor.now search for "ro.sf.lcd_density=120" and put 85 instead of 120 and save it and then reboot.now u will have your tablet ui back

This rom, entitled MiniCM9, is ported from LG Pecan (Optimus Me/P350) which I believe is smoother than current CM9 nightly build while also provide extra settings. I ported this because I wanted an up-to-date version of CM9 which has minimal bugs and doesn't have unnecessary apps that will slowing it down, so this is CM9.1 with many apps removed which you won't miss.
Original ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2040176
Kernel thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2215406
Features:
-Gellmar's kernel (1GHz/tun/swap, UMS/blur/battery/ICS device encryption fix)
-Built for LDPI, no size issue
-Slimmed down, under 75MB!

-zRam support (Settings -> Performance -> Memory management, only works if you use arek's 1,1GHZ kernel)
-No languages other than English (use this app for languages )
-SDMergE400 step 4 available
Known issues:
-native WiFi tether didn't work so I've included WiFi tether app
-no offline FM Radio
-disable auto-rotate from display settings will cause random hangs
-select Settings -> About phone -> CyanogenMod updates will causes FC

MiniCM9 Theme:
MiniCM9 theme, is the valid successor for MiniCM6 and MiniCM7 legacy.
It is designed as close as possible to the original specs of ICS, in order to be a lightweight, beautiful alternative to the stock theme. However it is tweaked in several parts of the UI, in order to fit better to our small device's screen.

Yes u can.
Dude i tried this ROM, and noticed two great things, super smooth, and light. But there are 2 other things i'd like to say. First of all, why is the color light blue? Even the Play Store icon looks light blue, instead of the original. Is it some graphic bug or the rom is like that? Please tell me how to fix it. Second, the keyboard is too large. It occupies half of the screen, and looks odd. Can that be fixed too, but that is not much of a problem.
Also I'd like to say, what is Swap feature in Performance settings? How does it work and what are the optimal settings? And what is that "Undervolt GPU" feature?
Installed succefull!
I installed this ROM and It's working very smooth!
One question: does it has not support for other languanges than English? how to install language pack?
Cheers!

Please use google to search about swap on linux. I can't explain here as it will be off topic and too lengthy.
currently stuck with jc v6 as its my daily driver Cant move on easily ! Next rom change would be this for sure Will be waiting
I am very happy with this rom finally i can use ics fast as stock gingerbread.
Great!! i'll try this one Thank you Andwie, i really love all your roms!
Someone please clarify this for me if I don't want SD merge I should just flash the ROM as usual right? I just want the ROM without the SD merge
GAPPs?
1.) Is this ROM has GAPPs pre-installed?
If YES, can you create one which has no GAPPs...?
If NO, Nice :good:
2.) Is it Non-SDMerg User Accessible? Or just like JCv6 (which is for SDMerg user only)
Cause I'm not a SDMerg user (Can't see why you should, since there's Link2SD. Your arguments are invalid )
3.) Can I use my Modded System Applications (SystemUI.apk, framework.jar, Settings.apk) from my Stock CM9-20130929 and push it within MiniCM9?
4.) Can you kindly share what files did you trimmed to make it a ~75MB-sized ROM? I'm just curious...
5.) I like to make my own Theme App as a System-Default Theme. How can I do that? Or if ever so, where's the directory for it?
6.) Thanks a lot for the New ROM. Will try it soon, since I can't use it as of now (random issues)... And also thanks if you would answer my Qs
Great ROM.Only a bit of lag in dialer when not used for a while

I could not find a way to close that. Screen is not really big anyway. This letter covers the screen for nothing
Thanks for this awesome ROM. I've been using it since it's been posted here and I just love it.
The only thing that doesn't belong there is that text from the notification bar.
I noticed that a feature from the settings doesn't work and that's the "slider torch". Instead of repairing that you should replace it with a different option. It would be cool to have 2 options to turn the torch on : -1- "tap the unlock slider twice to turn the torch on/off" (but without keeping it pressed). You just tap the slider twice to turn it on or off. -2- "keep the power button pressed to turn the torch on". It would be awesome if you did that. When you're in a hurry and try to find something quickly and it's dark.you just keep the power button pressed and the torch turns on. Or tap it twice, toggle the torch on and search for things without keeping the phone in your hands while it makes light for you.
I love the scrolling adjustment feature. Our Ace 2 is not a very powerful phone so it lags all the time when you scroll up or down in settings, gmail, the stock email app. etc, but with this I managed to reduce the lags with ~75%, which is great. It's nice to have a smooth experience on a phone.
Anyway, thanks and hope you read my comment.
You know about Settings/C-Tool/Lockscreen/Long press Home button/Flashlight ? For me its always the best option for fast turning on/off torch when i need this.

It's a bit uncomfortable to long press the home button to turn the flashlight on while looking for something. You could easily drop the phone. If you long press the power button instead, it's easier and a lot safer because you have a better grip.
I really love this ROM, it's the best out here and I'm not gonna change it for nothing even if you add the options I asked in the previous comment or not. You did an awesome job. Though, maybe you'll change your mind and add those options.
Hey PolishVodka, do you have any idea how I could change the stock KitKat theme from black to white? You know , like an inverted version of the stock theme?
Sent from my GT-I8160 using Tapatalk
Its easy to change (if you're talking about something like white background in Settings), but for solid white is necessery to change font and icon colors from white to black, something like silver metal background its pretty easy to change. Just enough is changing one .png in framework-res.apk, do not decompile/unpacking framework-res, just open it via 7zip (like archive), go to res/drawable-nodpi. Now replace background_holo_dark.png with your favorite (better not solid white because fonts are white, you know..) image (must be in .png format and named background_holo_dark.png too). Resolution should you use 512x512 pix like original.
After done, just swap thats framework-res.apk from original to yours and reboot phone.

Thank you very much. I did exactly as you told me and I changed the settings background. I couldn't believe it was that simple. But of course it's piece of cake only when you have the instructions given by someone who know this kind of stuff.
I suppose it's much difficult to make the background white and the writing black. I noticed that in the "drawable nodpi" folder was a dark background. which I changed with another one, and underneath it was "background_holo_light". I thought this second one was the font for the writing but I was wrong and of course I made everything not readable anymore (white letters on a white background).
But thank you very much. You're awesome.
Hey PolishVodka, do you have any idea why the official YouTube app doesn't play HD videos on my phone? I press on HQ, so it should be playing high res videos but the quality is still not good at all. Everything looks blurry and it's very annoying. It's not happening specifically on your ROM, I experienced it on other ROMs too, even on those ROMs that say in the feature list "YouTube HQ". I ended up using a modded YouTube app but I wish I could use the official one, if it worked as it should.
Youtube app is bugged for custom kernels, use Supertube and you will be fine

Thanks man. This app is way much better than the YouTube app. But just so you know, the official YouTube app didn't play HD even on the stock GingerBread or Jelly Bean as well. I tried that and it still didn't play HD videos. And I let the stock ROM untouched. I didn't root the phone or changed the kernel. But now you just told me about a super cool app and I love the fact that it lets watch videos in background mode, so I'm prettyhappy. Thanks again !
Rom is updated to 5.9 version + today's CM11 kernel if someone is interesting.
And clean install is really necessary!
