homekey delay - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
Every time i press the home key there is one sec delay
And only then it gets to home screen
Is there any way to fix it?
Thanks.

Load up s voice and go into settings and disable it from launching on double click home button.
What's happening on your phone is that when you push the home button s voice is waiting to see if it's gonna be a double click on the home button. That's why there is a slight delay in response time.
When that option is disabled you get a faster response.

Honestly Ive always had this problem but it never really bugged me too much until I finally decided to read your comment and disable it and my God the difference is amazing haha thanks!

Goto settings/developer options and turn off both window and transition animation scale and should start even faster.

[Q] How do you disable haptic feedback when holding HOME key?

I'm on StreakDroid 1.9 and it's driving me nuts, I can't find it!
You know when you hold the HOME key to bring up most recent apps? I'm trying to configure mine to sip as less juice as possible.
'Settings > sound > haptic feedback' to disable completely.

That doesn't disable the holding HOME button vibration. I would like to know how to do this as well.

Thanks but for some weird reason, that doesn't disable haptic feedback when you long press the HOME key?

Actually it does in some way..
If you hold the Home button for ~ 1 - 1.5s it wouldn't vibrate, but if you hold it longer than say 1.5s it would vibrate ( found it very annoying too), both will give you the recent app menu.
My fix is to use Prehome (from market, set Prehome to default launcher and set your preferred launcher in prehome), instead of holding Home button, you can double tap it to bring up the recent menu

Thanks, that's a decent workaround.

[Q] S Voice

How do I access it? I read you hit the home button twice but that doesn't work for me.

Should be in your apps drawer. Once you access it, hit settings if you want and you can make it activate from the home button presses.
Long press the menu key to activate Google Now though - better than S-Voice in my opinion
Not sure why I didn't see it before, thank you.

[Q] (Jelly Bean) End Call Question

Ok, when I click the end call button on the phone it then displays the contact information. Is there a way to turn this off to just go back to the keypad instead with out hitting the go back button again? I have gone through every menu I could find but was unable to locate something that would allow you to turn this feature off or shorten the time it displays. Thanks in advance for your answers.

it should disappear after you press the end button or they press the end button unless you have an app to delay it but i dont know what it would be because ive never heard of something like that

It does disappear but when I need to make a call right after it stays up to long. I would rather it be a shorter time display.

Home button lag

Hello so I've noticed sometimes when I'm in an app, say chrome, or a game and I press the home button it always takes a few seconds for the press to register and go back home. Is there a way to get rid of the home button lag?

this is because of the double tap home button to open the camera, at least most likely, it means the phone waits a moment to check for the 2nd press of the home button before treating it like a single home button press.
This can be disabled by going into the camera, then camera settings, then turn off "quick launch"

[TIPS] Makes The home button responsive

Hello,
When you press the home button it takes around a second for the screen to respond that's because the system is waiting to see if you going to double click for the camera or triple click for the one handed mod.
FIX: disable quick launch camera and one handed mod and see the speed.
Regards
I am not experiencing this at all I hit the button and the screen pops on. No lag. That being said, quick launching the camera is something I can't live without.
