Does cygwin has a forum or mailing list?
The point is, it is hardly an android topic. Much less an S3 one.
Don't take the General forum that far.

DO NOT POST IN THE DEVELOPMENT SECTION UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY DEVELOP SOMETHING
bunch of dicks in this place!!!
Sorry that people are jumping at you for posting in the dev section, but there is a reason we have specific forums for different topics and it has to stay organized otherwise no one would know where to find stuff. This is posted pretty explicitly in every forum.
Anyways as far as rooting on a mac, I gave up on trying to install heimdall. For some reason I kept getting a "heimdall.kext not installed properly" error. I ended up using ODIN in boot camp. If you don't have windows, I know you can download a 30 day trial of Parallels 7 to create a virtual machine. They let you use a consumer preview release of Windows 8 for free. I didn't try ODIN in Windows 8 but maybe it could work. Good luck
Thank you!

FlyMe OS 1.0.5 [PORT][UPDATED]

Original Link
THIS IS NOT PERFECT! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PERFECTION, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
What works:
Wifi
Data/etc.
Both cameras
SMS
Music player (Music has to be in Music folder on sd card)
A lot of things!
What doesn't/might not work:
Hanging up on calls
A couple things FC, nothing major though.
TO INSTALL:
1. Download and place at the root of your SD card
2. Download Siyah Kernel ICS and place at the root of your SD card
3. Wipe data and factory reset
4. Flash ROM (FlyME_i777.zip)
5. Flash Siyah Kernel (MAKE SURE IT IS AN ICS VERSION)
6. Reboot
This ROM is pretty stable from my testing with it. However, do proceed with caution and be aware that, as I said, this isn't perfect and I do not know how to fix any of the problems because I did not create this ROM.
Reserved for screenies.

Sometimes its nice just to have someone point something out especially if that user is new to the forum. Flappjaxxx/H0tw1r3's Jellybean kernels

Hey, guys, with all due respect for Flapp and what's going on, the dude's kernels are something else, so i'd like to throw a mirror up here for y'all. I haven't cleared out my goomanager folder in months, so here's kernel versions 2.1 through 3.0.2, simply for the sake of archiving, which i'm OCD about. I personally use 3.0 redux with CM10 nightlies, due to the fact that it has the smartassV2 governor, but your mileage may vary.
By clicking this, you're agreeing not to act a fool and make anyone mad (Mediafire link)
EDIT: Sources, courtesy of some_other_guy
I've always preferred straight CM when possible, with a custom kernel to be able to overclock and have BLN, probably because I spent so long on Nexus devices before my Note, and the only other kernel that's out there is King Kangers, which I don't like using.
So far only h0tw1r3 and flappjaxxx have made kernels I can use and enjoy, so I hope when the CM 10.1 nightlies roll around, these older kernels will support it.
thanks for these, I went and downloaded them for safe keeping on my desktop. I hope he'll come back. :fingers-crossed:
If anybody has the touchwiz ics version they can share. I would greatly appreciate it.

His post is correct that kernel source must be made available to all. But where flappjaxxx failed to be more specific is that if the kernel is to be distributed in it's compiled form the source must be made available as well. If the kernel is not being distributed publicly anywhere then of course said kernel may not even exist.
I will make it easy for everyone.

Actively? Probably not. If you scrolled down the page and looked before you asked a question in Development instead of the Q&A forum, you'd see this thread on the first page of this forum, which is the only attempt so far to port MIUI.

Ha. Sence. Gotta love that.
Anyway, I was trying to be subtle about it. Might have come off as abrasive, though.
And if it's not being worked on now, then 'not actively' is correct. And I did say probably. When the mentioned ROM is done and you start back on MIUI, then it will be actively worked on.

No currently miui is not being worked on, but that's is far as I know because I don't talk to " litemaker " he is the one who started it. But a member of my dev team is working on a PAC-MAN Rom for this phone. And as soon as that's complete me and him will be bringing miui to this phone, because personally I want miui.
