doesnt matter - both work fine (1.83 & 3 or something like that)
easier to flash via cwm - but try odin first

I have flashed one through 1.83, and also flashed at other time through mobile odin.
works both ways just fine

I personally like v 1.85
Odin v 1.83 or higher is ok

Use odin to flash the kernal or if your phone is rooted cwm.

i know about odin but sgs kernel flasher is alot easier if it'll work

i followed the instructions on removing the yellow trangle on boot up, forgetting i had recently flashed miui. So yes i made the dumb decision of flashing the stock kernal through mobile odin on miui. any fix? i already tried flashing stock through odin... yes it will enter recovery and download mode.
When you say recovery do you mean stock recovery or cwm? You should be able to just flash miui again in recovery. Or you can just Odin(or flash in recovery) the siyah kernel and you should be good to go

Can you get back to MIUI? If so then just flash a new kernel in Mobile Odin.
Or go into download and use Odin on the PC and do it from there

i meant stock reoveryy... and i did try the odin method but as soon as i try to flash the i777 stock it says it failed im using odin 1.83 btw

Ok, I put a warning that would happen after you remove the triangle...
Can you get into MIUI?
Try flashing siyah.tar in odin.

I don't have time at the moment to flash a stock rom with Odin at the moment, so i was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a XXWLPG rom without Jkay?
I want to try out this s3 lock screen

Why don't you use Mobile Odin app (=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899) to flash the stock ROM as tar file?
You only need to be rooted, then install Mobile Odin app and flash the stock ROM ... on device flashing.
If you are already on ICS, should work fine.
Have done this from stock XWLPD ROM to XWLPG and XWLPM.
I can also confirm that mobile odin is easy to use and works well, I've never had a problem with it. Perfect for flashing official ROMs in tar format.

23732 is right. But to make it more precise - open your stock TAR rom file in mobile odin (all partitons in the app will be filled in). Then clear all of them but kernel. Then flash only the kernel partition. No need to flash anything more to come back to stock kernel.

Yes, you can downgrade to a Gingerbread stock rom from the ICS rom you're currently running.
You can download GB stock roms from Samfirmware.com or AndroidFirmwares.Net.

try www.sammobile.com ma8, u have to register there to dwnld the firmware and the registration is free, and all the firmwares there are stock samsung one's
I've been looked at sammobile but theres no version 2.3.6 for XME. Only has 2.3.3. Can i downgrade using other firmware from onothers country?

I always liked using Siyah on GB roms. But one thing you need to watch out for - make sure you flash a Gingerbread kernel now you're running GB stock. If you flash an ICS or JB kernel, your phone won't boot (doubt you'd brick it outright, but stranger things have happened here).
As long as you do that, you'll be fine Have a look in the development sections of the board & you should be able to find threads with GB kernels that work with stock.
