Galaxy S3 Allshare Cast problem - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please someone help!
I've tried a couple of ROMs on my Galaxy S3 i9300, and the one I took a shine to was the Foxhound 1.4.
Love everything about it but I cant seem to get the Allshare Cast function to work.
I have the dongle, and the phone connects, but after a few seconds it disconnects again.
This happens on every ROM i try.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
Before I rooted my phone and it was completely stock, I did not have the Allshare Cast function in settings.
This has arrived after an update from Samsung, but since I'm on root and custom ROM i never got this update.
May this be why it dont work?
My girlfriend has stock unrooted S3 and the Allshare Cast works perfectly.
Wonder if I have to unroot my phone, update it from Samsung, then do it all over again...?!
Hope someone can help me.. Drives me insane

[Q] Galaxy Tab 10.1 Touch Screen Unresponsive After Installing Ubuntu to 12.4

I rooted my Galaxy tab 10.1 and then installed Ubuntu. No problems worked great. A couple of days ago I updated Ubuntu to 12.4. Now I'm unable to use the touch screen. That is when I touch the screen to activate an app, move a page or touch home button nothing works. Nothing works in terms of touching the screen with my fingers. However I can use my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 external Keyboard Dock along with my Bluetooth mouse.
I've tried everything form removing Ubuntu installing new ROM to UN-rooting it. I went to Sammobile Firmware for a stock rom to give a fresh start. In installed GT-P7510 ... P7510UEKMP. Still no luck. Does anyone know what I can do and what is causing the problem?
Thanks
Alan
Hardware issue?
I don't think the problem is caused by software

Samsung Grear live not detected by updated DN3 rom

With the new update on 11/07/2014 everything including GPS is working great with this rom. Great job done by lacoursiere18 in making this rom. However my new samsung gear live is not any more detected by the phone's bluetooth. But it does not have any problem in detecting and paring with my fitbit. When I rolled back to stock rooted 4.4.2 rom, gear live is paired immediately. Any thoughts on fixing this issue ?

Just throwing out a suggestion, bc I'm not sure if your watch does this or not -
I have DN3 installed on mine too, and have a Pebble myself. After reinstalling the Pebble app, I found that the watch was not wanting to pair up with the phone. I had to go into the watch itself and remove the previous pairing I had with the phone's old ROM for the Pebble app to pick it up again.
Does the Gear Live have something similar?

devious_z, thanks for the response. I do not see any configuration option to remove the BT pairing in my Samy Gear Live. Next time when I reinstall ND3, I will try to play with the reset option in my watch to see if that can resolve the problem of being detected by the phone.
This is a let down hopefully will be fixed...

[Q] Localcast not connecting to chormecast

A friend has an SII that he wants to use localcast and showbox on - to play through his chromecast. I have done this successfully with my SIII without any issues.
When he opens localcast he doesnt see a cast icon ... i told him to factory reset the phone and try again. He was then able to see the cast button but never able to connect to the chromecast. Same thing happens with Avia and other cast apps.
Im getting his phone tonight to have a look (he's not using it as a phone- theres no sim in it and its just a remote for the chormecast basically) and see if I can fix it but im wondering if this is a limitation to the older android models. Not too sure if he is still on ICS or Jellybean.
Anyone have any experience with this happenening or any thoughts on how to resolve?

Hi, I am the developer of LocalCast.
Once you have the phone, please check if the Playservices app is updated.
This whole 'cannot connect to Chromecast / Chromecast icon missing' thing, is a Playservices / Chromecast bug.
It usually works for a while after rebooting the phone and the chromecast. If it doesn't: reboot both again.

You mentioned he could be on ICS: there seems to be a bug:

Galaxy S5 SM-G900V: Touch Sreen Function Stopped Working Suddenly

I own a Galaxy S5 SM-G900V from Verizon. I stopped using the phone for sometime. The phone was working great before it was placed on in a drawer. I decided to give it away to somebody and now the touch screen function does not work at all. I already tried resetting the phone. I also wiped the cached but nothing changed. The phone has not been wet or anything like that. Please let me know any ideas and suggestions! Thanks.
Help!!

[Q] Question about Remote Viewfinder.

I have Samsung Galaxy K zoom and a Galaxy Grand.
So I was browsing through the features and came upon this. I was like "WOW!, I must use this!".
So I use it and it gave two options to connect. NFC and WiFi Direct. I knew my Grand doesn't have NFC and that it had WiFi Direct so I am good to go. I tried connecting it but it failed and said device is not supported.
Ok, I know and can guess that it cant because Grand is on different OS. JB.
So what does that mean?. Do I have to put the same OS (K5 has factory stock Kit Kat 4.4.2) on my Grand to make it work or will it not work either way?. Please dont tell me it will only with with another K zoom, S5 or S4 zoom because that sounds pathetic.
Also, screen mirroring doesn't work either.
Bump.
Apparently no one knows the answer to this?.
