How the *&//*(% do I download this file? What the heck is this "ilivid" stuff? Even when I use this *(&[email protected]# "download manager" it won't dl the file for me-Chris

Just wondering how you got it to work using the flashing tool. I tried that then i changed the kernel to dream after it was done and my phone wouldn't boot up past the galaxy s2 screen. Also tried hell raising it manually and got no where. Just wondering if you did anything different.

Still have no idea how to dl this file- no, I don't want to buy something........

I can post a screenshot of the setting I used when I get home. mine did that too then I checked "remove device specific scripts" or something. Its right under the hellraiser and NFC.
Edit: chrisc60 you were clicking the wrong link(an ad). New better links are up

Does this mean that project butter is fully working in this? Or is that more of an AOSP thing exclusively? I do understand we are running a i9100 kernel.

That's pretty awesome! How would you say the smoothness is compared to AOKP or CM10? (Not trying to make a "which is better?" debate, just curious.) Hopefully Samsung will release the JB source for the i777 soon.

I haven't used AOKP or CM10 on my SGS2 so I couldn't say.
Once source is released for the i9100 we should have a full working kernel.

Oh well that's even more exciting, as I am sure they will release much sooner than the i777! Well I will be sure to try this rom out, thanks a bunch!:good:
Hi sho,
A quick question
Does wired headset with single button function well (i.e. functionality like changing/skipping tracks)
It didnt work with any AOSP JB around (I tried editing generic.kl on AOKP to implement skip track with single click it worked but then i wasn't able to pick up call with single click)
but since s2 ships with single button headset Samsung Firmware may address that issue i think
Btw thanks for JB update sho

A
Alarm
• How can I disable alarm icon?
You can enable/disable alarm icon in statusbar in Clock > Settings.
You can enable/disable next alarm information on cLock widget in RootBox Settings > cLock > Clock and alarm.
B
Battery
• How can I save my battery? (Without flashing anything or undervolt kernel)
You can check all apps/functions which sync in background like GPS, Wlan or Social accounts (If not needed = disable)
Set the Brightness down (Settings > Display > Brightness)
Use dark (best black) theme & wallpaper & lockscreenwallpaper
C
cLock & Clock
• How can I place cLock on lockscreen?
Look into Lockscreen section below.
• Where do I configure cLock?
RootBox Settings > cLock. There you can configure Clock + Weather + Calendar settings. Note that all these settings apply to both homescreen and lockscreen cLock widget.
• How can I change color of cLock / Clock widget?
As first, it is important to note, that there are two different widgets with the same digital clock layout:
Digital clock is classic digital clock widget in a new design. It is configured by Settings of the Clock app. There you can beside other settings change color of clock / date / alarm and it will apply to the widget.
cLock is brand new CM widget combining digital clock in a new design, weather forecast and calendar events. It is configured in RootBox Settings > cLock where you change font colors.
• The localization and weather isn't working
Uninstall cClock and install in again from here.
D
DPI
• How can I customize DPI?
For now there is no overall system DPI change possibility, so that u have to use the 'Settings > Hybrid settings'.
Here you should choose the stock PA-settings and then swipe to the right - this should open the PA-menu on the left.
Now choose ‘Interface’ and set at all dpi-regulators on your DPI you want to have.
Most apps also get this configuration, but some like Phone, Calculator or Chrome, have to been set manually.
That for change from ‘Interface’ to ‘Apps’ and choose the same DPI for all bright apps you can see at the top.
If you did this, you should have overall the same DPI.
If u want to have different DPI’s per app, just run free in the ‘Apps’-section.
• My device isn’t supported in playstore after changing DPI
You have to use the MultiDPI-Playstore here from URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4534385"] “MyLifeRocks10”[/URL]
=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
Data
• I can't find the Data toggle!?
It's renamed to "signal".
E
Expanded Desktop
• Can I use Expanded desktop on this ROM?
Yes. Enable it in RootBox Settings and switch it on or off in Power menu.
F
FC (any app)
• After update or some system changes (e.g. DPI change), my app XY is ending with FC (Forced Close) repeatidly.
Anytime you have some app ending with FC, try:
Settings > Apps > ALL > XY and click Clear data and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > advanced > fix permissions > reboot and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > wipe cache and advanced > wipe dalvik cache + after reboot repeat step 1 and try the app again.
Try FULL WIPE installation of the ROM.
Flashing

-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
Reboot and you are done!
G
GAPPS
• Do I have to flash GAPPS with ROM?
Generally musst have the Gapps package!
But u only have to flash it once, because since v4.0 (also some nightlies before), the backup function got enabled.
This will save the Gapps, so that a “dirty update*” with new Rom.zip is enough.
*If u don’t know what this means, check ‘Option 1’ under the point F->Flashing (without step 4 here)
• What version of GAPPS should I download?
It's always recommended to use the newest Gapps
Latest Gapps you also can find here:
♦Dev-Host♦
♦AndroidFileHost♦
But you also can have a look on the unofficial Gapps from BaNkS!, which gives you different versions.

H
HALO
How to configure HALO?
There are three places where you configure HALO behavior:
1. Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings where you configure basic HALO Notifications behavior
2. Settings > Apps > [Any App options] where you enable / disable concrete app Blacklist / Whitelist entry
3. Paranoid Android HALO))) App from Play Store where you configure apps for persistent notifications in so called floating mode.
What are options in Settings > RootBox Settings > HALO Settings?
- HALO policy allows you to choose between Blacklist (default) or Whitelist policy. In Blacklist mode are notifications from all app ON by default and you can explicitly configure some of them not to show HALO notifications by entering them to Blacklist. In Whitelist mode are notifications from all app OFF by default and you can explicitly configure some of them to show HALO notifications by entering them to Whitelist.
- Hide HALO after activity (disabled by default) allows you (if enabled) to hide HALO circle shortly after notification appears.
- Reverse HALO gestures changes behavior of dragging / tapping on HALO circle. Better to play with it or watch some youtube videos than describe this... Basics are: If enabled (default), then dragging is for tasking and double-tap swipe allows you to position circle or delete / deactivate it. If disabled, functions are reversed.
How to Blacklist / Whitelist apps?
Go to Settings > Apps > [Any App options] and there right under "Show notifications" checkbox you find either "Blacklist HALO notifications" or "Whitelist HALO notifications" according to policy set in HALO policy options.
What can I do using Paranoid Android HALO))) App?
Add some apps like Email, Gmail, Messaging, etc. using "+" button, press ">" button and you will see... You will have persistent notification in floating mode for those chosen apps. Try to drag HALO circle and you will get it.
How can I disable / deactivate HALO? (I don't want to see the circle on my screen)
Depending on your "Reverse HALO gestures" option:
- If enabled (default), then try quickly double-tap & swipe the circle. By this you will be able to position the circle or deactivate it by moving it to "trash".
- If disabled, then you can directly drag the circle. By this you will be able to position the circle or deactivate it by moving it to "trash".
How can I enable it again?
When HALO is deactivated, you can see special button in upper line of Notification drawer, that will activate it.
How can I uninstall HALO completely?
You can't. It is integral part of the ROM. You can only choose not to use it.
What if I cannot install .apk?
Wait for the next Nightly/Stable build. This will be solved. If you can't wait, then disable HALO, install what you need and enable it again.
Where can I find further information?
Take a look at this video by Oode.
I
Incremental download/update
• What is the incremental download
This download allows all devices on the the direct lower version (for example the nightly 20130301) to update only the new and necessary files from newest nightly (for example the 20130302). This means a smaller file, a faster download and a faster flash!
This is anyway an experimental feature, which isn't available for all updates and can still bring some bugs with it!
• How I do the incremental update
That for you have to look at the 'settings > update manager', search the newest nightly and check the point directly below the “normal” download. (it is only shown if u are on the directly below version!)
Download and flash it. (File is smaller than from "normal" download)
L
Lockscreen
• How do I get shortcuts/targets on my lockscreen?
RootBox Settings > Lockscreen Shortcuts or RootBox Settings > Lockscreen Shortcuts/Targets.
• How do I put cLock on my lockscreen instead of standard clock?
You have to drag clock on lockscreen. It will allow you to remove it. Then you can add cLock or any other widget instead. Note that cLock has only one setting that applies to homescreen and lockscreen.

Only stock kernel AFAIK. Or if there is any other, that is compatible with latest CM10.1 builds, i.e. with MALI v2 drivers for i9300. I do not know such.
EDIT: Temasek kernel was reported by feed3 and TKokab as compatible with this ROM

I am on the 02.03 nightly update.
As mentioned by someone else on Rootbox's G+ page, there is a tiny winy issue with front camera.
When I take a photo with the front camera the first time, everything is ok. But when I try to take a second photo right after that, the camera screen is stuck with the previous image but it still takes the new photo however.
Just wanted to put it out there and see if anyone else have the same problem.
Cheerio.
Just one Q , from 03.02 nightly we don't have an option to set lockscreen wallpapper in portrait mode. Problem is when we want to set wall with different size. Lockscreen is not scrollable.... Thx in advance
Ps
Big THX for second chance with the main topic :highfive:

No problems here on latest nightly, newest Gapps (BaNkS!), but anyway on i9100.
So please try to wipe gallery data once (settings>apps>all>gallery).
If this won't help, just try an update.
If u have anyway problems we hopefully get more feedback then to confirm this issue and so it's a device specific one.
PS: U don't uses another Kernel or? If yes please re flash rom + Gapps to have stock and see if it's happening there, too.

Hey buddy, thanks for the reply. Just flashed to latest nightly 06.03.
I am not using any other kernel, just stock kernel. I tried doing the same thing with the front camera on the latest nightly (also cleared the gallery data from apps) but still same as before.
It's not a biggie for me because I hardly use the front camera. But it will be nice to have it fixed when possible.

Yes here to
haven't been able to pin point it exactly, getting this no sound in out and ingoing calls when > changing dpi in settings (only 320 works) without losing sound..but then again no sound when i change themes, even thow they are cm10.1 compatible?
only switching back to system theme, booting to cwm and fix permissions solves it again!
always have no lockscren on my phone, haven't tried to enable it ever, but will try what you write and enable sound and see if it does any difference?
btw:this is a very very anoying problem, that actually makes this wonderful rom unusable for me :crying:
hope for a fix sometime
but thx a million for this marvelous rom bajee11 - love it - and this thread is so great
Edit: no lockscren on or off dont make any difference here.. but found one theme that works, and dont kill sound, its cyanorangen cobolt, its newly updated and works perfect
--------------------------------------------------
Edit again: forget it, problem persiits randomly, no way on telling what causes it, seems like it is something about the resizing dpi related? but im no dev just my to cents!
+phone is getting very hot on this nightly 0306

Not a theme issue (at least not for me) and it has been the same with previous version (IF my memory doesn't cheat me).
I'm using mianogen theme when it happen, some other themes afterward and now (MNML statusbar by kgill7, poplife, LunarUI), ONLY when enabling the sceenlock sound (settings -> Sound -> Screen Lock Sound) solve the issue for me (same workaround all this while) though i think it is gone in 3.8..
MTP Support
I don't actually know if this is a ROM related issue, but I guess it is better that I leave it registered here the one thing that annoys me mostly for now with RootBox.
There are minor issues that don't bother me at all, but this one does. I just can't get my phone's files via USB on Ubuntu. It works fine on Windows but not on Ubuntu. The strange thing is it worked well with my previous ROM, but I decided to remain with RootBox and get this fixed somehow.
Before RB, I was using the Omega ROM AOKP, MTP also didn't worked on Linux, but I after I changed to kernel Siyah I had no such problems anymore. When I changed to RB, the problem was back. Tried to flash Siyah 1.7.1 and got stuck on boot animation; flashed Siyah 1.8.9 and phone booted ok. But no MTP working on Ubuntu.
I don't know if this is a ROM related issue, or a CM kernel problem... Or maybe my Ubuntu is just broken (I need to try on another distro yet). This is my most imediate need for RootBox, I'd really like some help on how can I fix this. Already tried cleaning the Media Storage app data, but got nothing.
My current set up is: RootBox NIghtly 20130306, stock Kernel 3.0.31-CM-gcea4b18. Ubuntu 12.04 on PC.
And thanks for the support thread.

I have all the same issues
So excited! I just got my HTC one yesterday and loaded up PAC man but I will be dumping it for Revolt ASAP!
Thanks for bringing it over to the One!!
I'm guessing at this moment, the base is pretty buggy? Currently on a PAC rom but I like trying new things. Need something stable for the weekend though so can't test this just yet

Same link as build system over rides it with date taken by automatic system .. Since both on same day the newer one will over ride older one ..
Is 4.3 a global change or is it specific for the m7? im keen on trying the new version just wondering if the incall was fixed, im happy if things don't work but I need incall just for the weekend as im away. Downloading either way, just wanted a heads up before flashing.
btw thanks for the updates and thankyou for your time and effort in updating its greatly appreciated

[ROM][4.2.2][Unofficial] RootBox ♦ Support ♦ Help-Index ♦ Discussion [i9100]
Since unofficial builds were causing mass confusion in the RootBox Support thread, I have created this thread. This is where all unofficial builds of RootBox will be put from now on. If you create a build and want it added to the OP you must include a few things:
An MD5sum
Confirm it is 100% functioning (it boots, no ril issues, wont cause soft-brick).
Be willing to provide support for your build (answer any questions users have about it)

Welcome to the unofficial Build and Support Thread for the RootBox Rom build by Bajee11!!!
♦ Team ♦
First we want to introduce the team behind this thread, which tries to keep the thread helpful for all:
Bajee11, creator of the ROM
kilometers4
rkoby13
Nico_60
All the other people here who are answering questions and helping!
Best practices:
You should always do nandroid backup before flashing anything!
If you do not backup (I don't understand why) or you are not experienced enough, never flash ROM right after build is released. Let more experienced users to flash, test and report findings.
♦ Help-Index ♦
A
You have to use the MultiDPI-Playstore here from MyLifeRocks10
=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
Flashing
• How to flash this ROM?
It depends on your starting position. Here are possible options:
Option 1: Updating RootBox with stable/nightly version without major changes - Without Full Wipe
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card

-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache

Option 4: Coming From Stock ROM (Samsung firmware, no root)
=> Root and Backup
Download Odin (http://androidfirmwares.net/Tools)
Download root kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399)
-- just scroll down and search for your version (settings>about phone>basis version)
Flash it via Odin
-- extract .zip
-- load the root kernel in Odin (as PDA)
-- put SGSII in download mode (Vol-, Home and Powerbutton)

Phone should reboot by itself
Turn it off, then start phone in recovery mode (Vol+, Home and Powerbutton)
Go to:

-- confirm it and then let do the phone the backup (can take a while [5-20 min])
=> Now start the process for flash Rom.

-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
♦Dev-Host♦
But you also can have a look on the unofficial Gapps from BaNkS!, which gives you different versions.
Gapps from BaNkS!
Goo.im
• I can’t download files via Goo.im
Latest stables, nightlies and Gapps you also can find here:
♦Dev-Host♦
♦AndroidFileHost♦
I
Incremental download/update
• How do I make cLock show my Weather and Calendar on lockscreen?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Minimize Lockscreen Challenge.
• How do I unlock faster when Minimize Lockscreen Challenge is enabled?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Enable longpress to unlock.
N
NavBar
• How do I change NavBar Color?
Rom Control > Navigation Bar > Navigation Bar color.
• How do I enable NavBar transparency?
Rom Control > General UI > Transparency settings. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
Nightlies
• What is Nightly? Should I flash Nightly or latest Stable version?
There is no major difference. Nightlies are builds which are built almost “every day” for everyone to try the latest sources/features merged to RootBox.
For all users who don’t want to flash “every day” and want have less bugs as possible, please just use the stable releases.
P
Pie
• How do I enable Pie?
You activate it via “settings>RootBox settings>Pie controls”
• How do I change the Color of Pie?
Settings > Hybrid settings > Interface.
• How make I Pie open faster
Just set ‘quick’ in “settings>RootBox>Pie controls>Pie style”
S
Statusbar
• How do I enable Statusbar transparency?
Rom Control > General UI > Transparency settings. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
• How do I change the Statusbar behaviour?
Rom Control > General UI > Statusbar behaviour.
Here u have different options if/how the statusbar is/becomes visible for you.
• What means the fast toggle for the Statusbar Toggles?
This will allow you to swipe from the right or left side of your statusbar (depending on what you choose) and it will go to your quick settings bypassing any notifications.
• Everytime after reboot I got a “Low Storage” Message!?
It’s a problem which appears when the app ‘Viber’ is installed. Just move ‘Viber’ to sd card.
That for go to “settings>apps>Viber”
U
USB
• I’m not able to connect my device as Mass-Storage to PC
Try deleting data from media storage. That for go to “settings>apps>all>media storage”

Stock kernel
RootBox uses CM kernel from CyanogenMod as a stock kernel. This kernel is very stable and battery friendly and stock kernel is always recommended mainly for users that do not have special demands. Please, remember that RootBox is multi-device ROM and it needs multi-device kernel. Creator of this ROM even do not own S2 and he cannot support alternative kernels for this device in any way. Therefore stock kernel is only kernel with the official support from Bajee11.
Download
Thanks to hawkerpaul’s knowledge is Hannibal226 providing stock kernels for selected builds here and here.
Non-Stock kernels
There are many RootBox users with S2 devices using non-stock kernels. Most popular and compatible are Dorimanx and Siyah kernels.
Dorimanx
Dorimanx kernel is developed by Dorimanx (note that he is also RootBox user)
For current RootBox builds use 9.X branch
Changelogs, download links and other important info on development thread OP
Support, Q&A, discussion on non-development thread (Please, consider to ask there for support, if you have really kernel specific questions or issues, like STweaks, OC/UV, BLN, cron, etc.)
Siyah
Genuine Siyah kernel is developed by Elite developer gokhanmoral. There is also non-development thread for Siyah. This original version of Siyah is currently not compatible with current RootBox releases, as gokhanmoral is working on other things according to his priorities.

Will say thx to fusionjack for this work.
Hope you bring constantly new builds.
Nice also... The new feature in telephone app is included... Transparent in call screen, cool.
This as info for all... All unofficial nighlys from fusionjack works without issues. As kernel I used dori 9.26.
I can not say that in this rom anywhere is slow... Apps open fast, also drawer etc. I used nova pay version.
Great, thanks again fusionjack...
The new true view in camera also works fine, also smart capture.
Edit
The only one is that the poweramp app closed if they start. But googly Musik and the poweramp widget works fine and play the music.

Anyone with gmail wakelocks on 20130524v2 .
I flash the 20130531 build of fusionjack and the wakelocks goes ...
Note:
Although the file name is unofficial, the source is still the same. It built from the Rootbox repo.
If I made some additional changes like working around the RIL problem, I note it on the top of the changelog. So be sure to read the changelog.
The rest, whether it is a nasty bug or a cool feature, it could be from CM, AOKP or Rootbox itself.
The rom is developed only by Bajee, not by me. So all credits go to Bajee.

V3.1.1
Tidied some files up, removed NavBar button options, Substratum NavBar compatibility baked in
V3.2
Home Button Fix
Added Dolby Atmos DAP 6.5 option
PixelXL no longer the device name with Assistant option
V3.3
Changed Base to US996 (non T-Mobile version)
Extreme Debloating Option Added
Added back the start of Nav Button options
Disabled all high volume warnings now
V4.0 (T-Mobile)
Ive scooped 200mb of bloat/LGApps out of this version, the result is a pretty snappy system. Rather than having the extreme debloat script, im going to start uploading the rom zip in the debloated manner. There is a new 2.0 LGApps aroma zip on the Download page. This isnt for the faint hearted or LG app fanboy. LG Message and LG Music are gone. Along with almost everything LG. I rely heavily on google apps hence why i went this direction. See post #2 on XDA for the list of removed apps. WETA 3.3 is going to sit there until people arent so scared to use 4.0.
Be sure to wipe Dalvik and Caches.
V4.1 (T-Mobile)
Added V4A XHifi option
- This mod works great as a standalone eq. I am preferring using the equalizer in this in conjunction with V4A FX. (turn off fire equalizer in V4A FX)
Added WETA mods Substratum toolkit theme
- Has all the nav bar and status bar heights, Nav button themes, some other tweaks. Install Substratum from the play store to use.

- hide swipe to unlock text on lockscreen
- Disable All rotations (WETA default is to allow all rotations)
- Screen on when unplug (WETA default is screen off on unplug)
- **experimental, "theworks" this activates a couple of things in framework i noticed, referring to cpuboost for animations, test it, see if it does anything.

*Be aware, although you can certainly flash 3minit battery and clock to both second screen and the normal status bar, you will most probably have a mismatch in sizing.
*Using a mixture of potato clock on normal status bar and using 3minit batt and clock on second screen is an option.

Kernel
Special thanks to @USA-RedDragon for putting up with my questions to help me brute force learn the kernel stuff.
His source has helped me understand the structure a bit better and some of his commits are present to fix common v20 problems.
Also thanks goes to @jcadduono for the original build fixes for h91810d which i used to help bring up my LG Stock source code.

Hiding Status Bar Icons
Some of you may have experienced or seen the SystemUI tuner in most other devices firmware. I myself, when shifting to the V20 from Nexus and Pixel devices, have missed this quite a bit. Below is a known method to hide status bar icons reasonably easily until i implement a method into the ROM.
Using a terminal emulator...
type; "su" enter
then type; "settings put secure icon_blacklist (your selection here)"
"your selection here" is a list of the icons you want to hide. They all need to be added at the same time, with a comma separating each option. Each time you run this command it clears out the last entry. So say you wanted to hide the alarm, bluetooth and Cell Data icon.. youd be typing "settings put secure icon_blacklist alarm_clock,bluetooth,mobile".
To restore to stock, type "settings delete secure icon_blacklist".
Below is a list of commands to add to the icon list.
cast
hotspot
bluetooth
zen
alarm_clock
managed_profile
wifi
ethernet
mobile
airplane

Possible causes for common issues
App FC.. If you have several force closes of misc apps, you most likely have bad data relating to themes. Uninstall or delete all themes and theme apps. This includes LG themes and Substratum. Substratum has a theme cache which if not wiped can cause a lot of issues.
Google play services crash.. I haven't seen this is a long time. Though if it happens to you its usually related to Webview. If you have uninstalled Chrome, then that is your problem. Simply dont uninstall chrome if you dont know what you are doing.

How to install...
Use a method to install TWRP and Flash SuperSU first. Get this done on a stock first, and boot into it to make sure you are stock rooted. Also read as much as you can about rooting the V20.
I use TWRP so can only recommend that recovery, but i am sure you will be fine with others if available.
Make sure WETA zip file is in your internal SD card, and head to recovery and flash the rom zip file. Reboot.
ENCRYPTED DEVICES - You need to decrypt your device to use this ROM.

system and boot.img retrieval
I will only accept stock system.img. this means you need to be stock rooted, not on another stock ROM off XDA. Thanks.
In terminal emulator or adb shell. Type "su" to get root permissions..then
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system of=/sdcard/weta_system.img
...And do kernel too....
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/weta_boot.img
Swwwwwweeet! will test it on tomorrow night! !

If you grab me a system dump or point me to the stock firmware, I can have a go at it.

I'll be updating to the 10i base today. I'm a little apprehensive to include the 10i kernel though.. anyone have any info on whether the updated kernel affects root in any way? Wouldn't want to lock people's phone into a non root situation.

I'm running Overdrives Maximum Overdrive ROM right now with Zero Issues. He updated to 10i yesterday. No hiccups at all. Kernel version 3.18.31.
