Turn off landscape to portrait visualization in ICS? - HTC Rezound

My wife just got her Rezound upgraded to ICS. She normally views just about everything in landscape. When she exits to the home screen there is a visualization when the screen rotates back to the proper portrait orientation that she says makes her nauseous.
I know you can turn off auto rotate but then she couldn't view her stuff in her normal manner.

Talking to her again, I guess its any time you rotate from one view to the other. It's never bothered me before but I guess GB just blinked out and refreshed in the new view or it wasn't as pronounced as on ICS.

Nvm, found it in developers options.

Phone app in landscape?

My Arc won't rotate the phone app. Is this by design? The dialer rotates fine.
If it's by design, can it be replaced by another, i.e. CM?

Mine works both ok
The dialler rotates 180 & 270 degrees. By what do you mean the phone app?

Hi, I mean the screen that show the contact picture, "hang up-button", elapsed time for the current call. Basically the app semcphone.apk.
I have my arc in a 90/270 degree rotated car mount and everything rotates fine and switches to landscape - except the "in call-screen".

Know exactly what you mean, my xplay is exactly the same...

Has anyone else noticed that turning off icon labels makes...

Makes the home screen way more responsive? I turned off my apex labels just for kicks and I no longer have ANY stutter on home screen transitions. Before there was a good half a second lag on initiating the scroll, and lots of stuttering on the transitions.

I posted about this a while ago. I reported it to the apex team and they said they'll look into it. No solution yet as of the last few updates...

I can't get my icon labels to show no matter what i do. Wiped everything before flashed and no issues other than this. If i put them in folders they show.

There's a point where if you set your grid too dense it'll auto hide labels. Try setting your grid to something smaller or increase your dpi in build.prop

[Q] Camera app start in android jb

My question is very short is it possible to prevent camera app to start automatically rotating into landscape with just the icons adjusting to portrait/landscape view? I find this real annoying because not just the pop ups are always in landscape but also it does not start or close smoothly and by the way it looks ugly;
so is it be possible to make the camera start as other apps in that mode I actually hold my phone?

Try this.
Good idea, but does not change anything because what i asked for is a change in the camera app itself will make a video later to show what i mean but nevertheless thanks for the link

Split view

I've managed to get the tablet ui working on the gmail app and settings. I know in landscape mode messaging has split view. Anyway to enable the split view in portrait mode also?

I changed gmail screen dp to 600x1024 and the dpi to 250 and now have split view in both portrait and landscape.

Whoops I read to fast and missed that part. So the text messaging, or exchange messaging?
The text messaging. I'm curious if there's a way. There's an option for it in landscape but I rarely have my orientation unlocked to use landscape lol

I've been trying a bunch of configurations and came up with squat! Landscape only.

"Eye icon" in notification bar....

I have been running jellybeans rom since build 8 and haven't had a problem yet. Although now after going to build 16, I can't seem to figure out how to ditch the eye icon in the notification bar. It covers my clock and is a nuisance. I believe this is associated with smart screen timeout, but maybe I'm wrong and is never supposed to go away.
Any thoughts?
Turn off smart stay and smart rotation. That permanent eye is a "feature" of 4.1.2

Thanks for that, I realized that even though smart stay was unchecked, smart rotation was selected and grayed out. I turned auto screen orientation on and then off and then it allowed me to turn off smart rotation.
Thanks again.
