kernel with 2-way call recording patch ? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Figured it was about time to ask about this...
Is anyone working on this or is everyone waiting for the new kernel source to drop?
Thanks,
RJR

I have also been wondering if this works on this phone. Does ICS need to be even patched or does it work out of the box if your rooted?

It does need to be patched otherwise you can only use the API which will record via the mic.

Can anyone provide any updated status about the 2 way call recording options for this unit? I am upgrading from an EVO 4g to this "LTE" model and use this feature very often with reports that I conduct. My 4g uses CALLRECORDER and it works perfect from play.google.com and it's fully automatic so I don't have to fiddle with the buttons the calls are all recorded and I can simply download them from the SD card as needed.
would love to have any input now so I can start getting things lined up for this when the phone arrives.
Thanks,
Bill

haha yea i figured reading that commit, lol guessing the froyo is a no-go as of right now
Link file says Kernel
lets hope they can get a rom made using this soon
looks like there is a kernel made
Woohoo! C'mon Froyo!
Trying to build a kernel with the new defconfig now. Will report back momentarily.
I don't know how many times this has to be brought up guys, but we wont have froyo till we have kernel source for 2.6.32. The kernel source we have working right now is 2.6.29
Just calm down and be patient, or get to work and start developing. There is only so much devs can do, and if you want a feature or something, try doing it and learn. We don't need new forums posted everyday about how you want froyo, or tv out, or ios.

TBH, I'm equally sick reading these posts. Guess what, you can say that till you're blue in the face and people will still act in ways you don't want, it's called being being excited/impatient. You kind sir/madam could save yourself some bandwidth (and apparently annoyance/frustration) by just not licking on these links.
*edit* Also, it's great to see another New Mexican on the boards *edit*
Yeah...no licking links!!!

New to this myself. Fascinate is my first smartphone. So I gather we are likely waiting for the 2.2 release from Samsung for the Fascinate? Then someone will likely take the src and remove the bloatware etc?
Is the Cyanomodgen version also waiting on this?
Main thing I want is tether and all the bloatware removed from my phone. I have not rooted and am waiting for a good reason to do so. Don't want to root then have to undo it down road or something to get some other update and risk something going wrong. Thinking of waiting for the GPS fixes to get out etc first. Really want the Cyanomod ROM for this phone.

The root process is easy and shouldn't affect any updates. Removing certain apps could possibly affect any OTA updates - this has happened on some Motorola phones.
Rooting will allow Wireless Tether and the ability to remove bloatware. Make it easy on yourself and just MOVE apps you don't want from /system/app to your SD card so you can easily put them back when it's time to receive OTA updates.

Actually, we have no idea it it removes Bing or not.
Most likely it won't, but stranger things have happened, like Bing as the primary search for an Android phone.

Got my phone

got my galaxy sII today. (dont ask how). Anything i can do to speed up the process im willing to help. Just need someone to help me walk through it.
how?

Please check out your GPS and let us know if it is better than the Captivate!
Tip: Once someone comes up with a root injection kernel, get a system dump ASAP. Root that system image and find someone who hasn't obtained root via kernel injection to flash the rooted system image and dump your stock kernel.
Usually the first rooting of a GB device is via an insecure kernel - but then everyone wants to root by any means possible, so everyone blows away their stock kernel, making it hard to retrieve the stock initramfs.
Getting a good clean system dump AND a kernel dump will require at least two devices, and potentially one person willing to risk hosing their device until a good kernel dump can be obtained.
I'm debating whether to hit the AT&T store Sunday... I really shouldn't...

Can't Wait
Have you tried out the performance compared to your last phone? How fast is the HSPA+ ? I'm passing down my iPhone 4 to my wife and can't wait to get my hands on the GS2.

HSPA in Auburn, Alabama yesterday was 4889kbps down, 1104kbps up.
Speed
Thanks for posting the speeds, sounds great to me. The iPhone 4 download speed of 1958 kilobits per second so these speed s would be exceptional. Have you seen AT&T throttling in your area?

We are not OFFICALLY hspa here yet. We are still a 3g area, but they are turning HSPA on an off while they are testing it.

No. That will usually result in a dump that is missing files and has broken permissions. Especially if it's done without root permissions.
Been there done that with the Infuse.

[Q] Call recording

Is there anyway to record calls on the Rezound? On my Galaxy S with custom ROMS I think it was pretty standard with them. Every ROM I ran had that feature, just had to push the record button while on a call and it recorded the call.
Thanks!
UPDATE: I've tried a couple of call recording apps from the Marketplace and they dont work either. Apparently the Kernel has to support it. Seems like the only kernel that does is Ziggy's. But it appears to be an old kernel, its 5 months old (12/2011) so I assume it wont work on ICS ROMs. Does anybody have and info on any other kernels that possibly support this that are newer and will work with the new ICS ROMS??
???

More like I got trashed and uploaded a build when I first made this thread but forgot it had non-functioning storage and pulled it pending that fix; upon getting home while in my moment I felt it would be a great idea to try to roll my code back a bit to create another snapshot to build V6 with but my efforts were thwarted by git HEAD errors, I rolled back my codebase to it's default snapshot and lost the CM base for this phone in my drunken stupor.
So here I am rebuilding, sorry about that
Drunken rom-building ftw
Hahaha that's awesome. Can't wait for the sober release!
As illustrations. This rom uses virtual soft keys? Meanwhile droid dna available 3 soft keys.

Disabling/enabling soft keys is probably the simplest mod for any ROM. Most aosp ROMs have a built in option for this.....

It's possible if you have the native HW values, that being said I most def. will not be doing any further work on the DLX for a real long time; the next time I write in this forum will to maybe update this firmware.
Just understand that this device has dropped to the bottom of my to-do list so I wouldn't level any great expectations this way.

Us Verizon folk will probably get it last. Once Sprint lands I will get us a build out.

I would love to give it a try also if possible. I could deal without Bluetooth and WiFi. I have been running CM12 and love lolliepop, but I have actually always been a fan of Sense going all the way back to the Touch Flo days of the Original HTC Touch. I really appreciate everything you have done for our device and look forward to what comes next.
