Be glad this is the only disadvantage at the SGS2.

This is a known problem, but I think there is actually a fix.
My phone used to do it quite badly but it stopped, since upgrading to XWLP7 ICS.
It's only on the grey tones too I noticed I think it's a problem with the auto white balance, try a manual white balance setting and see if it helps

Thanks anyway, nothing worked...

Does your device have the yellow/orange lighting problem?

Hi there, I am wondering if my amaze's front -facing camera has a problem.
I found out that the quality of the front-facing camera of my device is really bad. I am not sure if its normal or it's my problem.
I compared to other devices (samsung gs2x which has 2mp front facing camera), my AMAZE is so bad. See attachment. the color of the pic taken by AMAZE is so yellow/orange and dark ,however, the pic taken by gs2x is in while (which is the wall color).
Do you guys have to same problem too???? the pic taken by front-facing camera is too yellow/orange and dark???
HELP~~~

I am not an expert on this subject, but to me, it looks like the photo you took with Amaze is showing the truer color than the one taken with gs2x.
What is the type of your light source? Did you adjust your white balance according to the source? My walls are white, but it looks yellow under room light. So I would think your Amaze is capturing the true color.
On the other hand, if the photo I take is white(ish), I would assume that it is because the camera is not getting enough light and trying to overexpose, washing away the true color and coming out looking like a black&white photo. Your photo from gs2x looks like that.
In any case, the front-facing camera is optimized for taking close-up snapshot of people facing it. The target must be lighted with external light source because there is no flash light for the front facing camera, and you should adjust the white balance if you need good results. You should compare photos taken in this condition to see which camera is better.
Other thoughts:
You can download and try different camera apps from Market.
You can wipe the data in 'settings/applications/manage applications/all/camera/clear data'.
Go to a T-Mo store and compare with the store demo machine.
etc.
Sorry my comment became so long. I was just gonna say 'try white-balance', but thought it better to explain why I think this way.

Camera at the front of the Sony S very dark, useless for Skype video

My front camera is very dark and can not be used for anything other than showing your silhouette when putting your head infront of a bright light I will post pictures of a bright room. Taken from the front camera and the back. Is any one else having this problem?

I have the same problem: images from the front camera are too dark. Useless for video chat unless the face is illuminated directly by a strong light source.
Luckily, I don't generally use video chat, so it's not a deal-breaker for me. But still, an annoyance.

I'm in Cambodia atm so the not so stable Internet makes it tough for me to post photos but they are on the way.

Yes, I agree, got my S yesterday, n checked the front camera n the image is blakish until u put light on face.
Its gonna be very difficult for video chatting.
It's strange this is from a natural source of light. And it is a lot better. Maybe it could be something to do with the type of light. I'am glad it is not only me.

The front cam is ok wen it is focussed on natural light even I to face the same problem...
The cam is dark wen I take it to my room for video chat but its absolutely fine when I take it out to sunlight
So it depends on the type of light and the brightness of light
So in short dont worry your tab and cam is ok there is no defect....guess since it is 0.3mp. It dosent have the ability to capture dim light perfectly....

I agree on that, its dim and dark only when inside room, but in natural bright sunlight or where there is more light, it acts normally.
I don't have this problem when video chatting with my friend using QQ, but they are all during day time.

Yeah I'll try to get that and see if it makes a difference.
Here is a picture with the front camera (the dark picture)
And the other is a picture using the back camera (the light picture)
It is not an exaggeration they are both in the same amount of light. The light is artifical light.

It's almost painful. Is there any sort of update or modification that could change this or is those purely a hardware problem?

Its assumed tht its a hardware issue in all sony tablets regarding its capacity to catch artificial light
So in short nothing can be done about it for time being

slow motion camera

Has the SIII a slow motion camera like the htc one x?
It has alot of functions, but don't think so. Would be cool though!
In the camera filming mode the only options you get are: edit shortcuts, self recording, flash, recording mode (normal or MMS size), exposure value, timer, effects (negative, b&w, sepia), resolution, white balance, outdoor visibility, anti shake, guidelines and video quality.
Hope it helped!
sure helped!no slow motion for galaxy sIII
there's some apps but they are not working..
The thing is that the camera itself records just 30 frames per second, that's just over the comfortable zone of smoothness (you need around 60 for a good slow-mo). I don't see how apps could help with this one since the speed of the sensor matters here.
galaxy s3 camera lens has the capability of doing slow motion videos @ lower resolution, wait for the mods.

Just download the Note 2 Camera mod here by HyperX and flash it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691145
It comes with 1/8 speed slow motion (12.5% speed ~ 1 second recorded is 8 seconds video) and it's working for me. Make sure to read the thread first to make sure you got the right software first.
Good luck buddy!

Note 2 has slow motion!
Maybe someone will be good enough to liberate the slow motion from the Note 2 to other platforms ))

[Q] Display Problem

Dear All
I have a GalaxySII Korean running jelly-beans, I purchased it in this condition. The issue is that the display quality is not good. I tried all the screen modes. The images and video specially show yellowish and little blur image ( just appear same as if there are no graphic drivers loaded in windows)
I am attaching screenshots as well. Please have a look and suggest me any possible solution.
Lol @ your Screenshots.

As from the images i see no problem. To have a crisp image we need higher ppi(pixels per inch) our S2 has 800*480 over 4.3 inches so that comes around 217 ppi. Now take Galaxy S which s also 800*480 res over 4 inches screen has 233PPI... So now compare the image quality of S and S2, S2 has slightly scattered icons and letters. But on display contrast S2 moves further making images to look more vivdid and bright. That yellowish feel i also had. I tested one sample pic on S2 and Sony Xperia U both the images contrast and color were completely different.. So that yellowish tint effect ll get used by u

This might seem like a silly suggestion but make sure that your lens is clean. I was having similar problems then wiped my lens with a glasses cleaner and it's back to being an awesome camera [emoji3]
