Curser Default to Text Instead of Contact MMS - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Performed a search and could not find anything simular.
I've had this issue with my Thunderbolt from day one and have confirmed it does not happen on my wife's Incredible S.
When I go to gallery and select a photo to send via text, when the photo loads in the text program the curser jumps the contact area at the top where you would select who to send to and goes directly to the "add text" under the picture.
Anyone else have this issue with their Thunderbolt? Running phone all stock.
Thanks!

[Q] Text Messages show number not name

OK, I purchased the EVO 3D on release day from Sprint. They transfered all my contacts over from my HTC Hero. I soon started seeing some text messages showing the persons phone number and not their name. I posted the issue on another forum, and was told to delete all my contacts off the phone and log back in to my GMail to reload them. I did the complete data reset and loaded them back up with GMail. Sent a message from my wife's phone to mine and again it showed her number, but no name. I turned the phone off and then back on and tried it again and Viola, now I am getting the name as it should be. But now it is doing something even more strange. Anytime I send a text message to anyone as soon as I press send there is a text window that pops up and says "message saved as draft" . The message was sent to the person I wanted it to go to, but when you look at the main text message page it says " Draft" under the photo. I don't have people's photo so it is just the generic outline of a person. Then when I go to the drafts page the phone is making two drafts of each message that I send. I see nothing in the settings to change to keep this from happening. If anyone knows how I can correct this I would sure appreciate it.
Thanks

Gallery and Forwarding

Am I being stupid or is there no way to forward a picture from the gallery via email?
I seem to be able to do this on 2 other android devices.
I get a share by Mail option (as well as gmail) by long pressing a specific pic and choosing share...
Also get the option using the share button, second from the left on the bottom after navigating to an album. It will first ask you a share method, then which picture(s) you wish to share.
WiFi Flyer, P512, fw 1.36.1540.32
Can you send MMS pics with the carrier enabled flyer? I have seen someone in the messaging app which looks just like the one on the EVO 3D/Sensation and there seems to be an attachment tab.
.My sprint view has an attachment tag in the text that lets you send pics or video. Actually a list of about six or seven things drop down for you to attach via your message. Can't remember them all off hand.

[Q] Text messages not appearing

I have Google Voice integration set up via Sprint (and I'm using the default text message handler).
For some reason when I have a conversation actually open on the screen I can get a text message (sound and vibration), and the message bar at the top will preview it, but it's not showing in the actual conversation.
I've missed several MMS this way (as well as normal texts).

yea, if i read your post right, it sounds like the same bug i've been experiecing. def an odd bug in the htc sense messaging app they provide as stock software. i'm also using gv thru sprint integration. usually hitting the back arrow to exit the conversation and move back to the sms inbox then allows the new message to populate.
because of this bug i've now developer the habiting of exiting all conversations and going back to the inbox before turning the screen off or switching programs.
if you're experiencing a different bug, could you perhaps provide more detail?
Pretty much the exact same thing except it never comes back, even if I hit back and go back into it.
I'll give another messaging app a try.

oh how odd the message doesn't appear when you exit the conversation..
perhaps there is an issue with the sms-mms database the app is using. the only easy solution there would be to wipe the database it is using and start fresh. i don't think there are any tools for analyzing the sms-mms database used by the htc messaging app as the sms-mms databased used by the aosp messaging app is different.
if wiping the database doesnt clear the issue, then it would appear most definitely to be a htc messaging app bug.
also, the nice option with google voice is you can check the gv app on your device to see whether or not the actual message came all the way through. if it appears in gv, but not in htc stock messaging app, thats def a bad sign for the htc messaging app (assuming you have good cell signal).
perhaps one of the developers might be encouraged to take a look into the app and see if its a bug they're able to fix through decompiling and recompiling the app.
Handcent seems to have fixed the issue.
I wouldn't be able to check Google Voice since the issue seems to have been most prevalent on MMS messages.
I've had lots of issues with Google Voice integration. I would randomly stop getting text messages for 1-2 hours at a time, every 2-3 days. If I checked Google Voice the messages were there, but they never came in on my phone. I could send messages to other carriers just fine. I couldn't get their messages though. Sprint was no go both ways.
After I deactivated Google Voice, the issue went away. Sucks, I'd love to use the application.

Why is MMS locking up my phone? Please help!

I have the Evo 3D, if that matters. Whenever I get an MMS picture message, my phone is almost
completely locked up when I'm viewing my main messages list screen. I've tried using different SMS apps
like GoSMS, and Handcent, and nothing helps. Basically, someone sends me a picture, and if I click on
it, it takes about 10 seconds before the message even opens. Then, I see a thumbnail of the pic, but I
can't even type a text to reply because it's so locked up. I have to hit Home, then go back to my
messages, then delete the thread with the picture in it so that I can send a text again. I've searched
like crazy, for hours, looking for a solution and nothing has worked. Please, somebody give me some
kind of suggestion maybe I haven't tried yet!

[Q] ICS Messaging - Only show contacts w/ Mobile number option?

Hi All,
Back in the days of using GB, I remember that the stock messaging app had an option to show only contacts w/ mobile numbers, so that you wouldn't accidentally select a landline or office phone to text (it might have been default functionality, actually - if a number was labeled as 'home' it wouldn't show up, however all 'mobile' numbers would).
Anyway, in ICS, I noticed that *all* numbers for a given contact show up when composing a new message. This seems to defy common sense, as I cannot send a text message to my parents' house landline.
Is there any way to make sure non-mobile numbers aren't shown when composing a new message?
