Is there a way to get call controls in notification area on CM9? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I'm using CM9 and during a call, there are no options to mute, hang up, hold, or anything else in notification tray. This is the one thing I loved about the Samsung variant of Android. Do I simply need to install a dialer app from Google Play to get this functionality, or is there a feature in CM9 to enable this?
Can anyone help me get this functionality? Thanks in advance.

What would be the point all those buttons are on the in call screen in ICS?

If you are multitasking outside of the phone app while in speaker phone, isn't it pretty quick to pull down the notification tray and click the phone so the phone app opens (which has all the options), then just switch back to what you were doing? Doesn't even take 5 seconds to go from browser to phone, back to browser...
Although it would be a nice feature, it is not a necessary one.

No offense, but I didn't ask what you thought was necessary. I just want to see if anyone knows how to get what I want. I don't know why people are trying to talk me out of this

CM7 back button

I recently reflashed CM7 and I remember being able to long press the back button to force close an app. I can't find this in settings, could someone tell me where it is. Also, I now have a clear button on the bottom of my notifications. How would I remove this

Ummm, the "Clear" button? As in translucent? I didn't know the X2 had a clear button.
I have power, volume up and down, menu, home, back, and search.

There is a button that says clear in the pull down status bar when there are notifications

Ah! Got it! Yes, that is to clear all temporary notifications. Like email and text message notifications (there are many, many more that flash a notification to the status bar).
Ciao!
Yes, but it's annoying. How would you go about removing it.
One other question. The 3g tethering in CM7, is that through the carrier. Will Verizon change me for using this, our do I need to use a separate app to get around fees.
Sent from my MB870 using xda premium
No, it's not through Verizon. If it were, it would take you to there sign up page when you use it. I doesn't. Will they catch you if you use it? Who knows. I don't imagine you'll draw any more attention if you use it than you would with any other tether app. My guess is, if you don't go crazy with it you'll be just fine. Could be wrong though. Personally, I don't worry about it. But then, I only use it when it's absolutely necessary.

How could we go about removing the clear button? One way is to open your notifications...ie: text, email, etc... The other way to remove it completely would be to disconnect from mobile data/wifi/internet... An easier way could be to smash your phone, but I don't suggest that...lol
What is annoying, the notifications or the buttons???

Automatically Clear Notification - App

I've searched, and I cannot find any app that will automatically clear a specific notification once its been received. I keep receiving a useless notification all the time, and keep having to clear it. I want an app that will automatically clear that notification every time I receive it.

i have been looking for this. i don't want my notifications to appear on the screen, but i want to get a vibrate notification, or a sound notification for my notifications for fb messenger, and textfree. i have used tasker for this, and all that i could do was make the status bar expand whenever i unlock my screen. it did not automatically clear it, so it wasn't helpful. i need this!
I have found a way to do this. you have to go to settings -> applications -> and choose the app. from there, uncheck the box for notifications, and you are good to go.

Yep, that's only possible on JellyBean. On other Android versions there isn't way to do it, and I think Google will not add it (because JellyBean already have it, so there is no reason to add it to older versions).

Nice. thanks
Radio is now 1.12.11.1119 and 4G is working inside my office building...no more having to go outside it seems.....
Updates to the Gallery. Now when you open it up you can pick the source
Update to the music app. Same with gallery...you can pick the source.
Update to how it handles 4G and WiFi..basically promising to turn them off when it knows it won't need them as opposed to always scanning.
Update to message app. There are more settings for personalization such as changing bubble colors and background
Low res contact fix which is common for all 4.1 I think
Color scheme change from green to blue to match JB
Pin enabled lock screen change
You can open up the maps to see where your pictures were taken
Stock browser has new look and is JB updated
Power saver
Keyboard has been changed up as well. Now can turn off arrows. Can't turn off prediction (well idk how to)
And more stuff...so far what I pointed out is just what I found to be important to me. I just now got to install this >.< I unrooted and updated.
Edit:
The HTC music app widget in the notification area now has the option to go back as well as pause and go forward
Wallpapers no longer scroll (figuring out of this is on purpose or if there's something i need to mess with)

I was hoping that the ringtone and notification volumes would be separate, but they are not.
Oh well, same old work arounds...

Soundhound app button
The soundhound app that was built in now has an icon in the apps tray. Never did before and I had to search for it. I know there was a workaround, I just never got around to doing it.

[REQUESTED APP/MOD] AOSP messaging with “Quick Reply” notification option.

I'm not even sure if it's possible, but I'd like something like that. I know GoSMS has pop-up notifications, but they're too damn intrusive.
I just want to be able to pull down the notifications tray, tap “reply,” and have a window pop-up.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I would love if we could get this. This is one of the only requests I have that would make stuff better than we already have it. I have an aosp messaging app that someone posted a while back but it is kind of buggy sometimes and it lacks some features that newer ones have.

Meh. It didn't work for me. Plus, it's über buggy. Glowfly let's you use any messenger. It just affects the notification drawer. Plus, its popup windows are better, in my opinion.
I always have problems with these third party sms apps, the notifications are always messed up, lightflow doesn't work right, I get the same messages twice a lot, and the list can go on.
.......I just want an AOSP rom so I can be done with these stupid problems, sense is going to be the death of HTC.
For sure, dude. I need me some Paranoid Android lovin' up in heeyah. Tablet apps in 1080p? Yes, please.

[Q] Email preview in notification pull down?

Does anyone know if the One has the option to see a preview of an email message in the notification pull down menu? I just bought this phone today and have not been able to find this setting? I thought it was a standard Jelly Bean option, but I could be mistaken.
Any thoughts?

I think you could just the 4.2.2 gmail apk and should work
Do you mean like this? I just sent myself a message. and that's how it looks in my notification bar. I do know that if it's a single line like WiFi TetherMod is, you drag it down using 2 fingers. So You'd drag WiFi Tether Mod down using 2 fingers and it would expand. (If the notification is capable)
EDIT: BTW, I'm using the stock Gmail app that comes out the market.

Does it look like this normally? If so, try dragging it with 2 fingers. I'm on Renovate. I don't think a ROM can add this feature. This feature is a JellyBean feature. I've had this feature on my Epic 4G Touch (GS2), as well.
The notification itself, if you drag it down with 2 fingers, it should expand. And you'd have more options and viewability. Like in my previous post.
I've also upload 2 more screenshots showing you a before and after of Google Music. It's a single bar, but if you drag it with 2 fingers it expands.
EDIT: Also it is not an option your turn on and off. By dragging, I mean the actual notification itself.

As you say, it might be in the next version. Getting this stuff early is a big reason folks root and use a custom Rom. I usually do, but just haven't felt the need with the One. It is meeting my needs right out of the box.

Any link for that? I'm not sure it would work over a stock rom, non rooted, but it is worth a try...
I'm interested. Do you have expandable notifications? I mean can you expand other notifications? I've always thought this was just a JellyBean feature and not something that could be taken out and added, or something of the sort.
I discovered that I won't get notifications unless auto sync is turned on. However, even with that on, I can't preview the notification.
I turned it back off because it also lights off the LED, which uses battery, and there is no way to turn that off separately.
I'd really rather save the battery than have constant notification of gmail messages.
The reason its not working for most of you is the battery saver notification. It is listed as a high priority/ongoing notification and essentially kills the auto expand. Expandable notifications have been in Android since 4.1 not 4.2

I'm still bone stock, no root, no mods, and I can expand my notifications (if they're expandable.) I have the notification for Power Saver, and this works whether it's toggled on or off.
You have to press and drag with TWO FINGERS to expand them. Not just one.

Sorry, you didn't say anything about "top notification" for "auto expand," what you said (or how it read) was that having the power saver notification in the notifications area was what was stopping folks from being able to expand notifications (with a two-finger swipe wasn't said, but seemed to be implied.) And I didn't think we were talking about "auto expand," but about being able to make them expand if they could...
I just did it on my stock ROM using the two finger method on the notification. I still have my Power saver notification showing also. I wish it would allow me to delete instead of archive.
