hboot 1.58 s-off locked - HTC EVO 3D

hello everyone,
so, before i had hboot 1.58 locked i was actually on hboot 1.5 unlocked and obtained s-off via the "wire trick". i recently flashed the latest version of meanrom and flashed a zip with the rom that updated my hboot to the latest version. even though upgrading to hboot 1.58 kept me s-off the bootloader now says "locked". my question is do i need to be unlocked again to flash successfully?

No. S-Off is the only unlock you need. You're good to go. Just keep in mind the older ROMs not based on the Sprint ICS OTA do not play well with HBoot 1.58. Since you're S-Off you can downgrade and re-upgrade your HBoot whenever you want to flash whatever you want.

[Q] Are you able to flash a rooted stock Ruu Rom with hboot 1.50

Hey guys i was wondering if you can flash a earlier stock rooted Ruu while on hboot 1.50 with the htc unlock method. If you were to flash one of the stock rooted Ruu, would that downgrade the hboot version to the earlier versions. Or did Htc lock down the hboot 1.50 version from being downgraded. Any advice would be helpful.

[Q] Stock S-OFF...what now?

Hey Everyone,
So I just got S-OFF via JuopunutBear 0.4 on my Rezound and was wondering if you could give me some advice. I currently have a stock Rooted, S-OFF GB Rezound. I would like to flash ICS Ivysaur's ROM or the CleanRom however I am not quite sure what to do about my firmware. Right now when I boot into hboot I see:
Vigor PVT ENG S-OFF RL
HBOOT-2.11.2005 (PH9810000)
Radio 0.95.00.1118r/0.95.00.1223r
Open DSP-v10.6.0.7611.00.0919
I would like to put the lastest firmware on instead of flashing a patch. However I am not sure which one install. Can I install the lastest?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631830
And if I install the lastest hboot do I have to unlock from HTCDEV again or Root from Amon recovery? I am thinking now I am S-OFF I dont have to do any of that.
In the end, I guess I am looking for some better guidence on how to get to the lastest hboot for ICS ROMs.
Thanks for any help!
Yes your s-off so you can install the leak you are on gb so it's a big update I recommend do the whole update not just radios or hboot as they all work best together.
sent from my rezound on sense 4.0

Hi sknight,
Thanks for the guidance. When I download the ROM from this thread does this include the whole update?

[Q] Is this safe? ICS to JB

Hello!
Is flashing a JB ROM on :
- S-ON
- 1.53.0007 HBOOT
safe?
I guess that after flashing I gonna have a different hboot (correct me if I'm wrong).
And how about flashing from JB to ICS?
Thanks for advices, I'm really new into android roms and can't afford a new phone if this one would be bricked.

You need to read the OP for the ROM. Usually they say what HBOOT is needed.
I can tell you that in order to go to JB you will need to S-Off first.

Sadly dev haven't mentioned Hboot nor s-off or s-on. That's why I'm asking
Btw. Isn't only difference between S-ON and S-OFF that you have to flash boot.img via fastboot usb if you're S-ON?

No. Look here for an explantion of s-on versus s-off.
At quick search in the thread you linked yieled people saying you need 1.39.
If your phone is the gsm version, you will have to downgrade your hboot to 1.49. Now in order to downgrade, you're going to need to be s-off

You're most likely going to end up bootlooping and confused. Go ahead and stay on stock rooted, and get S-Off, it's almost no risk, as failing to do the procedure right just means you have to keep trying.
you need non-ics bootloader so you need s-off first (wiretrick) then downgrade BL and then update radio.

[Q]HBOOT Downgrade via OTA?

I have a GPE One m7 converted from am ATT m7 and I am currently s-on and I have the 1.57 hboot. Did anyone know/think it will be possible to flash a stock ROM and recovery then flash an OTA containing a lower HBOOT version than my current one (specifically an OTA with the 1.44 HBOOT) and successfully downgrade the HBOOT to 1.44?
Any responses are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
I didn't think you could downgrade to an h-boot version that was not used with the Android version you're on. I think 1.55 can only downgrade to 1.55.

absolutely not.
You need s-off to downgrade hboot nd must be done by flashing a RUU or a firmware in RUU mode.
