Jellybean Rom High Battery Drain Screen 93% - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing high battery drain on all Jellybean Roms. From RR to SuperNexus, my screen always takes 93%. I have already went through a battery cycle. Any ideas? Thanks

It takes 93% because 93% of your battery use is the display. You have your phone screen on a massive amount...
There are plenty of articles on here which will explain what the figures mean.

[Q] battery drain problem (uses 15%+ per hour)

bought I9300 phone yesterday, and it drains battery like 15% per hour of normal usage.
so i rooted the phone to undervolt, and even undervolting im having same issue. it does not drain battery in idle mode,
but as long as the screen is turned on, the battery drains very quickly and also the phones temp goes up to almost 40 degrees.
u can see in the picture that batt drainage per hr is around 15%+ when in use and when its idel its only 2%+
its stock rom and stock kernel, can some one help me?

Not quite sure how you are undervolting with a stock kernel...
But if I am understanding you correctly, you are losing 15% per hour of usage? Meaning with the screen on you are losing 15%/hr? If that is the case you are looking between 6-7hrs of screen time per charge... and that is average to above average for screen on time for the phone.
If you do actually undervoltm it should help with the heating problems... Mine barly registers as warm now at -75mv even when playing a game...

I solved mine....
Drain your battery till it gets empty....
Then charge phone without turning it on....
Exactly 2hours 10 minutes it will be fully charged...
Then turn on phone..
Works for me.

hmmm really? its weird that this is suppos to be normal. before i had my pebble blue Tmobile version phone before, and that it only drains less than 10% with screen on, so it feels like this new phone is draining so much power.
i did undervolt with stock kernel with tegrak ultimate however its same temp with same usage i think

You could always try another kernel to attempt undervolting your phone to see if there is an effect.
I do agree that 40C is far to high for standard running temp..
Screen Brightness settings the same with your old TMobile version?
Power Saving Mode Enabled?

[Q] Battery Issue on Lollipop Roms

Hii everyone
I've got some really weird Battery Issues on different Lollipop Roms (CM12, ResurrectionRemix 5.3.5-5.3.7, Beanstalk and SlimLP).
The problem is, as soon as i restart the phone the battery percentage drops from 50% to 13% for no reason.
If i charge the phone later suddendly the loose percentage are back, but the phone consumption more "battery" so it's sooner at 0% as normal.
Does anybody else faceing this problem? Or whats the solution?
(Tried several times to calibrate the battery, and it's a new one ca. 6 months old)
Regards Kun1

I've had these problems when I first bought my phone used off eBay. Phone battery was very erratic. After a reboot battery would be less than half or nearly 0 even with 80%+ battery. Or would shut down with 5% left. Or drain battery a lot quicker than normal.
Soon as I bought a new battery my problems vanished. My battery would stay solid no matter how many times I flashed a new ROM or rebooted. BUT after 3 months these drops have started to happen again with reboots. Not always like before, but they're happening.
I think it's down to battery conditioning. The way you charge and discharge your battery. There are set ways to charge a phone to maintain battery health.
How does your battery react without rebooting from a full change to shut down? You shouldn't need to reboot a phone with a good stable ROM once you've set it up the way you like it. Also calibrating you battery or wiping your fuel gauge meter to often isn't good practice as android and your phone will do calibrating itself after some time and needs the information that these starts provide.
Battery jumps seem to happen with a lot of S2 users. Maybe a flaw in the design of phone. But good battery practices are important, things like not leaving your phone charging overnight. Batteries don't like being left on charge when they are full. There's more info out there on XDA that I can't remember myself as I am guilty of bad battery practices as I use my phone all the time and don't have time to full charge cycle.
Yes same problem
Battery drains really fast when restarting
Any fix for this?
I am hiving battery problems too. Battery is dropping % like it leaking or sth. Last time my phone rebooted due to full ram and it dropped from 50% to 12%. I left it like that. After some time battery re-charged itself from 12 to 23 % ! Phone was lying on the sofa without connected charger ! Should i clen fuel guage chip or my battery is EOL ?

and i understand the problem with charging overnight but there's no other solution for me :/

2 hours display, 54 minutes call, 15 msg whatsapp, 30 msg telegram, 2 record videos 720p, 6 photo, 18 email and 30 minutes of twitter, this is a my typical day of use my phone.
ps: I may have missed something
Forgot to say, if you want to avoid battery drops when rebooting make sure you plug your phone into charge before rebooting. Thus should stop battery dropping afterwards.

The battery often drops when the phone hangs at work and reboot from itself so i have no chance to plug it in.
I have same problem, battery drain too fast & after reboot same time battery level is "falling" at one moment twice. At first, I think it's a battery problem, but battery work fine at CM12 mod, and have problem at SLIMLP 5.1.1 mod. When battery "falling" it's not heating, which means no real discharge.
Hello friends I just purchased a new battery this is 3.7V battery
But the old Samsung stock battery that comes with the phone is 4.2V is this ok or this is necessary to need battery is 4.2V im still useing jellybean stock os 4.1.2 but im a custom Rom Flashaholic please guide me should I need a same battery volt so I return it and find another I purchased it from amazon estore thanks for replying

stop phone from turning things off at low battery

does anyone know how to fully disable the low power features? i have the zerolmeon 9000MAh battery and it often sits at 3% for hours which is fine except the phone starts turning things off and disabling features below 5% like the camera. I am running SkyDragon 3.0.1 but this seems to be an issue on all stock based roms. I havent used an AOSP based rom since getting the zerolemon but if anyone has, do those low battery things still happen??
It's the same in aosp

I don't wanna tell you how to live your life, but li-ion battery life(like how many times it can be recharged) seems to be improved by not allowing your battery to die, not overcharging your battery, and keeping it's mAh between 20% And 80%, so you could just keep the phone's charge above 5%.
I know those 9000mAh batteries last FOREVER, but I doubt it's a huge hassle to just charge it up a bit every now and then haha

I don't think you quite understand the issue here, the battery stays at 3% for many hours not because the battery is actually low on power, but because android apparently doesn't work well with batteries this much bigger than the stock battery. Still trying to figure this out, any actual above would be helpful. Thanks guys
By that, do you mean that your phone would discharge as if it had a 3000mAh battery, but then get down to 3% and discharge that rest of that 9000mAh battery?
If so, you could try a battery calibration app off the play store.
Sorry if I'm just cluttering your thread right now, the thought to try and calibrate the battery just dawned on me >.<

Standby Drain.

Hey guys I want to know how much of your battery drains in Standby time? In my Redmi 3 it drops 2% per hour no matter which ROM I'm using. Same in Miui, Cm based ROMs. charge also drops 2% per hour even if my phone is switched off.

i am using miui 8 from gkalen.and standby drain is 3% per 7-8 hours. maybe you should change your battery and see if that helps or use some apps that shoe detailed battery stats so that you know whats eating the battery

yes i think so too so change the battery and see if that helps you out.
I think that redmi 3's batteries are just low quality ones. I have it from February and now (with CM13 RC1) it lasts lesser than before.
Now when I unplug the phone, I reach 80% like nothing with just 45 minutes SoT. Before I was used to do almost 1h SoT/10%
Sorry for my bad English ?

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Can you Please share the usage Graph of your Device ?
Mine drains around 5-6% at night in standby! Its more than average considering the large 5000mah battery
Greenify / Freezing / disabling Google play services, or going nogapps improves battery life x10 times. In other cases, frustrate the app by denying it all permissions, so that it force closes every time it launches automatically (wakelock and drain prevented). Its an analogy to tying a runners shoelaces.....can't run, can't consume battery.
There are how many updates come till now for this phone? Please someone confirms it.

Use your phone till it becomes 0% and let it shut down Now press power button for 30 secs and make sure no battery is left to reboot the phone
Charge your phone till 100% with phone turned on/off (but don't use the phone while charging)
After 100% remove from charging and start normal usage till it becomes 0% again and now repeat same procedure 3-4times
Contact Asus CC they might provide better solution for your device after checking device details

Yeah, custom roms are highly optimized though it's unofficial right now I didn't think it would be this good. Well I'm on stock rom still and use greenify which does help a bit, the drain was 4% in 8 and a half hour.
the problem is on the apps that consumes power and data like facebook, instagram and some other similiar apps.
possible fix is disable them. and use fb instag by chrome. it makes the ram usage a bit less because the app wont use ram but "move" the ram usage to chrome.
ideal drain is more, after update and a bug also found Sim 1 hd capable.
I've noticed that my used ram is always above 2.0 gb. I wonder what's running in background consuming this much ram ?, this also might be the root cause of ideal drain I guess.
