Error 805A0190??? - Nokia Lumia 800

I bought a used nokia lumia 800 yesterday and everything goes fine!!! Except one thing!
When i go to marketplace and try to download something it says that something goes wrong and i have to restart marketplace or mobile!
I have done it but nothing...
The error code is 805A0190!
I cannot solve it after many hours trying...
The mobile has bootloader and has some programs from the forum (WP7 tools, WM device center, winTT, file deployer, Ds supertool which i dont know and understand anyone of these programs) and i think the problem has to do with that,
I ask for help if anyone knows...Thanks!!

similar problem
I have similar problem but my error code is a little bit different: 805a0194. Could not find any solution.

And what are u doing about downloading apps?
You download from the marketplace from Internet explorer??
Any other ideas???

There is apparently a problem with the Marketplace at the moment (something to do with certificates) so maybe it's to do with that?
Link explaining the problem

I hope...But in my case i cannot download any app!! I tried so many...
So i dont know...

I had this issue using a custom cooked rom that used ultrashots full unlock and flashed it onto my lumia. Everything works ok as long I did not update to Tango.
After the helpful advice from ultrashot to change a file in the unlock-package and recook and reflash averything is ok. So your lumia one of the rare one's with a full unlock, cause you have WP7 Root Tools in it and functional.
this is what ultrashot recommends to change when cooking a full unlocked tango rom and it works in my case
Code:
Hi.
You must use uZMF_Serv.dll from Dynamics 1.21. I am not providing any packages - just get my rom and unpack it. Original file will lead to working Marketplace but not working XBLive games.
Next unlock won't need this patch.
If you never cooked a rom, send me a pm, I'll share my own. Then you'll have to flash it onto your device.
2. way, but not tested:
I'll never tried if it is possible to copy the file in question onto the correct folder, but I doubt, that it remains a reboot. If you do not know, what all this is for: sell your phone here to someone needing the unlockable version and buy a not unlockable phone, so your problem is solved, because it is caused by the unlock.
(I'll guess that the price earning while selling a so called qualcom-bootloader nokia lumia is higher then the falling prices for new lumias with dload-bootloader)

Thats the reason, because I advised you to sell it.
If you don't know how to flash your lumia to another custom rom or to a stock rom, you should read here or in the developer-forum . If you feeling able to do the mentioned steps to flash (and keeping in mind, that there is a ability to brick the phone, if you fail) I can support you with a functional rom, that remains the unlocked status of your phone. Theres no other way I see to overcome your error with marketplace as flashing another rom, cause there is a wrong library in the rom, your seller flashed before he sells the phone.
Regards

I had an android phone before that and i know about flashing roms and such things (basics) but with the new one wich has windows im not experienced ...
If u can plz show me one good rom for flashing and the ways...
thanks

Hi,
All,you need to know is written in the threads I mentioned in my last post. I prefer the Linux dd method, other like the Nokia care suite method, I think it depends on your Linux skills, which U use If you do not need the unlock, use navifirm to download a stock rom, you can open the largest .esco file with a unzipper and use the image file in it as your flash rom. Here at xda are several manuals and howto's about.
If you like to remain unlock, use some of the custom roms in the lumia 800 dev thread here at xda.

How To Unlock HTC Hero (especially the Orange UK)

----
update:
-- just2mention: (22.03.2010)
latest HTC update (ROM Version:2.73.61.66 for Orange /Release Date: 2010-02-04)
and ROOT rights + flashing custom ROMS will NOT WORK
check page (3) for further information and problem solving :=)
------------------
continuing with original post
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
hey guys,
i bought my HTC Hero (Orange UK) locked a few days ago, and it arrived yesterday at morning
I spent at least 12h trying to unlock it :=) reading all posts over the whole www At 6am in the morning today, i finally could say: yeah i got it unlocked :=) and yeah, i also got the firmware downgraded
So, there is just one requirement (if anyone did it without one, please let me know): At least, for some time (borrowed from a friend) you need an Orange-Sim-Card
You need it to logg into your phone once, so that your pc installs the correct adb interface drivers (if you never got a sim card, you will never be able to contact adb interface) and enable the usb debugging mode on your android phone (so that adb works).
Otherwise i wouldn't have been able to get the Point 1 done correctly. (get the CID...)
=> Other Things you need to install:
- unlock code (maybe from http://www.unlock-now.com/)
- Android SDK
- i took the normal usb drivers (sdk-supports, folder "usb-driver")
so the exact how to:
1) at first (there is no way to bypass it) do exactly the following (create a Gold-Card):
Create a Goldcard (xda-post)
2) flash a custom recovery rom via adb interface (Android SDK):
Code:
adb shell reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img
adb shell mount /sdcard
adb push recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img /sdcard/recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img
adb shell flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-HERO-v1.2.3.img
adb shell reboot
(got code from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561124
3) Now you can flash any rom u like (maybe at first, if everything works, do a custom backup (nandroid))
i chose: HTC Generic 2.73.405.38
originally from: http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-hero-hero-modaco-com/291942/09-10-hero-roms-radios-in-update-zip-format/
really important: check the requirements above!
get access to an orange sim card. not important which one...
live here in austria, and got an AUT-Orange Card from a friend, but I think you definitely need one!
This was performed on a Windows 7 64 bit machine
greets && good luck to everyone who does this, hope this saves you a lot of time!
I am a novice and having probs....will be trying these steps over the weekend but a few questions in the meantime:-
I can successfully create a goldcard...
but the ROM downgrade bombs out with the 131 error which I believe is because Orange have tweaked it and is effectively locked to them?
Does the custom recovery get around the downgrading problem? I'm guessing it replaces the 'Orange Rom' with a basic image?
If the custom recovery is successful, are you 'unlocked' at that stage? Is your phone bricked if the custom recovery fails?
If the custom recovery is successful, does that give you the ability to do a Nandroid backup or are there specific steps that need to be done first?....(where does Nandroid backup the image to?...sd card? another part of the phone memory?
If custom recovery is successful, is it simply a case of getting the rom you want (such as modaco) and then launching it from the pc with your phone synched and goldcard inserted?
Apologies for all the questions but I'm trying to get my head around how this whole process works. Thanks for any help.
Trying hard to see the point of this thread/poll, when this method for unlocking the Orange Hero has been known for a while now!
Regards,
Dave

custom recovery, i think, replaces just the "recovery" ;=) boot loader image, the running rom stays the same meanwhile

not yet regarding to above, the rom hasn't change and so the unlock key, won't work either.

no, if the custom recovery is complete, you can do an nandroid backup as u like. it backups directly to /sdcard/nandroid/..

it the easiest thing you can imagine, put the downloaded rom onto the sd drive, custom recovery lets you choose "restore: browse" you select the image file directly on your sdcard (name doesn't matteR) , wait , and it's done

I presume that the 'recovery' is not available on the phone by default? When I hold the home key after powering on, it just has a sort of warning picture next to the phone.....no text displayed and no buttons do anything at that stage, only option is to take the battery out to kill the power.
Gonna have a go at unlocking this using the instructions later tonight.
I have finally got my Orange UK Hero sorted out.......
to cut a long story short, I had the most recent Orange UK ROM, which stops the custom recovery and doesn't alllow a change of bootloader (I got the 'remote ID' error when following your instructions and therefore couldn't flash it using your method.
In the end I went down the 'flashrec' route and eventually managed to get a standard ROM on, backed it up with Nandroid and then unlocked the mobile. Took a lot of hours faffing around and I'm starting to understand how it all fits together now...thanks for the steer. Regards Daz

does the website provide the unlocking code for 3 Network locked Hero, thanks
can't tell you, just that they don't work with orange ;=) except you reflesh, but i read over the net, that the keys work in 98% of all cases.
hi
i was wondering after the goldcard thing do i have to follow the flashrec thing? because since i dont have a network i won't be able to download a file manager.

without any network connection, i don't think it will be possible...
sry && greetings,
Just to let you know my solution, as I had a PM asking for assistance.
Basically the goldcard method didn't work for me, (creating it was fine, but that's as far as it got)....after research I found out that the most recent Orange Hero's have firmware installed which blocks this process.
Anyway, I used the flashrec method, instructions are here
The url above also has the links to the two files that you need to pull this off. These aren't my instructions so credit to the author.
I have done this on two HTC Hero's now which were both locked to Orange, and they both sailed through without a problem. I also bought my unlock codes from www.htccode.com and had them both unlocked about 5 minutes after payment by PayPal.
Hope this helps anyone else with the 131 error problems (Orange firmware blocking the goldcard method) and thanks for crazyVII (thread starter) for also helping me out.
hi i am totally new to android thing and this all process. sorry if i sound stupid. when i try to run adb while creating gold card it comes on as dost windows and goes off instantly cant type any command whatsoever can u plz tell me wts wrong and i've tried on windows 7 and xp as well thanks in advance
br
it looks like you got an adb problem.
try this to see the message:
open a console window ( start-> run -> type "cmd" - pressENTER )
then run the command again!
good look!
OK, there is a very easy way.
Just upgrade your orange firmware to the oranges official latest firmware: ROM Version:2.73.61.66 for Orange
download here:
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=864&news_id=514
Then you can just use the codes that you have and it will unlock the device!
you can get the code from:
http://www.unlock-now.com/
Hope this helps
cheers

[Q] 2.2.1 - complications on downgrade and root.

Phone: LG P500h - ANDROID v 2.2.1 buildnumber FRG83.
Country: Brazil
Anyway, what I know is that i have to downgrade it to 2.2 in order to be able to root. I've looked through a bunch of tutorials on a bunch of websites but there are a few questions i have about the process that isn't answered anywhere i've looked.
Apparently downgrading requires me to get a stock ROM from LG, there is a topic here for that but it does not have the right ROM for my country, i tried a couple codes but they all got me 404.
Can I just flash any standard ROM from, US maybe, will it work?
And if yes, how do I flash it? Apparently you can do that by booting into recovery mode, but to get there you need it to be rooted which I can't do.
I've read about KDZ and downloaded that but... it crashes a lot in my PC (whenever i try the Read Device) it gives me error and closes the program (windows program not responding dialog).
I'm afraid it might crash in the middle of it if i try flashing and that would brick my device.
Is there a simple way to flash a new ROM? Is that the first thing I have to do in order to get a custom ROM say Ubuntdroid? It says I need a new recovery... but for that I need to downgrade first? It's a lot to do... and I don't really get the order in which I should do it all in...
Can somebody post me a little "do this, then do that, then finally do that" so that I can understand it all finally?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for long post, was trying to be as informative as possible.
This shows what happens when I try reading the phone on KDZ... also a little part showing that I got my device to be recognized by windows...
also disabled the LGE modem on device manager, read that if I don't it'll get bricked.
Well it won't let me link the image so... just paste the name together.
www

/1.jpg
1. Find a suitable v2.2 stock ROM for flashing (link)
2. Use KDZ to flash it (I am not aware of another tool capable of doing that). Try doing that on a PC running Windows XP (important - that's where you're stuck now and I guess you're using Windows 7).
3. Root your phone - search for "z4root" on Market, install it.
4. Install Custom recovery, which will replace your current (stock) recovery mode (link - you may need to create an account on another forum in order to download).
5. Using Custom recovery you can now install any custom ROM and create nandroid backups to restore your phone to a certain (working) state.
You will have to use KDZ again if you ever want to flash a stock ROM, also losing the custom recovery. But you will have no reason to do that, except if you need to take your phone to some warranty repairs.
Good luck!
NEW PROBLEM: About step 1... i finally found a way to get my country's rom, but... it's.. the same thats on my device right now, it says V10a_02 and thats the same on my phone (the kdz read phone tells me that) so... won't I just be flashing the same 2.2.1 again?
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500H/ABRABK/V10A_02/V10A_02.kdz <---- the rom the topic tells me to get.
How do I know what version of android is in that rom? and if i can't, can you link me to a rom that does?
I found one from another country that the guy said is 2.2... but... will it work if i flash that one? does it HAVE to be for my country? also my model is p500h (the h) is it different from the p500 (different as in flashing p500 without h roms on it will kill it?)
As for flashing it...
I think maybe a computer with win xp will do the trick for kdz.
i've found this post today:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944881
is it better to use that than kdz? theres no replies on topic saying "hey it worked" so i'm a little worried, but apart from a few errors it seems to work on my win 7....
i guess the reply would be "i only know kdz, do it with kdz" but i thought i might ask...
Indeed, I have not tried that method and therefore I can't recommend it. At least KDZ is successfully tested. If you are patient enough to wait for some replies either here or in that topic, you may find out if it works. I would recommend it only if you have no other choice, like if you're unable to try KDZ on an XP machine.
In the mean time, I remembered that a newer version of Custom recovery is available (v1.2) - here. But you still need to download a file and read the tutorial from that other forum I mentioned in the previous post.
what about the first part of the post? i think i might have added that after you replied i don't know... asking about the rom i found if it isn't the same i have on my phone. and asking if i can just add another country's one...

First backup your data, then download a factory ROM, it doesn't matter which version u download, what matters is the version. Make sure that it's 2.2 and not 2.2.1 or 2.2.2. Follow all the below steps without skippin any, no matter how simple or stupid they are.
Link for shipped ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865479
Now download KDZ updater and uncompress it
http://www.4shared.com/file/UleS4dP3/KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.html
Install msxml.msi from the uncompressed directory
Charge your battery to almost full state (I'm not sure, but it can be reason if phone doesn't start)
Turn phone off somehow (remove battery etc.)
Install drivers properly
Get rid of all usb drivers like Nokia, microsoft visual ++ run time environments
Install the LG drivers by selecting the update manager from the lg site
Disable LGE Virtual Modem. In your Windows operating system, go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Modems > Right click on LGE Virtual Modem and click Disable.
Press and keep pressed "Volume up"+"Return" and connect USB cable to phone
Yellow screen with text emergency mode should appeared
Shake the handset (I know, it sounds ... strange, but it helps for ones, so... why don't try it?) UPDATE: Read some quotes on bottom.
Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe (Has administrator).
Select Type : 3GQCT (I have one report that CDMA mod works too)
Select PhoneMode : DIAG (in case of fail try EMERGENCY, and as last chance use CS_EMERGENCY)
I Recommend do not switch phone off. There was some people, which done it and after they was not be able to turn it on again. If flashing failed, just select some another mode and try it again, again, try shake/connect disconnect, again, again....
In KDZ file : Choose the ROM file you downloaded in the first step
Press Launch software update
Shake the handset (I know, it sounds ... strange, but it helps for ones, so... why don't try it?) UPDATE: Read some quotes on bottom.
Now Root it via Z4root - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=833953
Then install custom recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844483
Then download n flash any ROM of your choice, I wud sugget install Void or LOL.
Edit :- By the time I replied, many have already replied. Anyways you can check my reply too :-D
Mithun.
"it doesn't matter which version u download, what matters is the version."
does that mean it doesn't matter what country or operator the rom is for, as long as it is android version 2.2?
i have one from portugal (not my country) and that one is made for P500 mine is P500H... if that makes a difference i don't know, but i do know that rom is android 2.2. can i flash that one?
i also have one that i got from that topic following the instructions of putting my serial number, it linked me to a rom V10A_02... on KDZ when i try to read my device it says i have V10A_02 too. isn't that the same one i have now? with android 2.2.1? if it is it's very pointless to flash the same rom already in it.
any way to check?
because that is my last doubt ;p

i have one from portugal (not my country) and that one is made for P500 mine is P500H... if that makes a difference i don't know, but i do know that rom is android 2.2. can i flash that one?
i also have one that i got from that topic following the instructions of putting my serial number, it linked me to a rom V10A_02... on KDZ when i try to read my device it says i have V10A_02 too. isn't that the same one i have now? with android 2.2.1? if it is it's very pointless to flash the same rom already in it.
any way to check?
because that is my last doubt ;p

Yes.... you can choose any country. I tried the Australian version. Use the below one http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/AAUSBK/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz

As far as my knowledge goes, the LG P500h you have is the same phone as the P500, only branded for Telus. The hardware should be identical, therefore you may use any ROM designed for the P500 family.
The only thing you may miss if you install a ROM not customized for a Brasil (or South America) network operator is the internet acces point name, thus rendering your phone unable to acces the internet trough its data service connection, but only trough WiFi. Nevertheless, the phone's APN can be configured manually, all you need are the correct settings from your mobile operator and you're good to go.
Ok since you guys told me i can go ahead and flash any country ROM i just did and now my device burst into flames and then the flames consumed my apartment.
ok, not. it worked too well actually, i did the kdz procedure on my win 7 anyway, despite the errors when reading device info, and it took like, 1 minute, rebooted, took like 2 minutes on the android screen then it came back, with all my data still there... i thought it didn't do anything but... its now version 2.2
i tried z4root, worked ... got the superuser app and.... i'm happy ^^ thaaaanks!
anyway about the custom recovery thing..
i'm going to install the one in that post you gave me...
but i read something about the best one being clockwork something...
shouldn't i go ahead and install that one?
or can i do everything i need with this one you guys linked?

Glad that it worked Install the Amon_RA's recovery!!! Many ROM's for OO won't support clock work I suppose. Amon RA's recovery is neat, I've been using that from the time I had an HTC tattoo.

You can do anything you need with ThunderG. Now that version 1.2 supports backup and restore of ext4 partitons (a feature you don't need if you don't plan on installing a custom ROM... but you will, eventually ), it is complete.
Moreover, in ClockworkMod's first topic says: "This recovery will not allow you to flash every ZIP file". ThunderG does, if you choose to allow flashing of unsigned zip files. Sometimes this is useful.
Peeeeeerfect
Recovery installed, LOL ROM installed, all fast smooth and error-free.
no more screen touch lag, it's soooooo much faster now, overclocked, i have yet to test my emulators but i can only guess they're gonna be at least 150% better lol.
thank you all very much for taking the time to help me ^^
ONE LAST QUESTION: I PLAN ON BUYING A NEW SD CARD, JUST PLUG IT IN AND IT'LL FORMAT THEN CREATE THE NEEDED FILES THEN I INSTALL STUFF BACK ON IT, SIMPLE AS THAT?
Simple as that =D
Although there are some criteria with the sd card or you'll get unmounting problems.
Use a class 4 or higher card
format with fat32
I've never officially tried this method but its apparently supposed to help
allocation unit size: 64kb when you're formatting

[Q] Long Story Anyone to make it short???

I bought GT-I9000M, Froyo, 4 days ago, brand new unlocked from store. I had a problem getting GPS to work. Searching for a fix on the web, I got inundated with all kind of info,. Not only on GPS fixes, but on comparing, updating, rooting, flashing, unlocking, APP's and other issues with my Galaxy s. So, after reading quite a bit, I decided to update or flash my phone to the latest (assuming that will solve GPS problem and all other issues). As a newbie to Android software which I was about to temper with, I selected androidadvices.com to guide me. I had read very carefully and I followed instructions meticulously to flash 2.3.4 XXJVP. but it did not work. then the phone did not start and I got the little mobile and pc with triangle in between sign. I still could get to download mode. I tried to repeat the process many times, but got same results. it halted after it started to load bin file. I consulted the so called expert at androidadvices if the I9000M differs from I9000 and if could that be the reason for what happened. HE did replied promptly "YES" and advised to take it to service center. I searched a little more on the web with other language and I found a tip about omitting pit file (using Odin). Tip worked fine and flashed to XXJVP. Please do not congratulate me yet. Now the phone starts showing I9000. I did not only lose M, but it is network locked. Getting back to the so called expert to ask him if it's a good idea to upgrade or rooting (as he described in his instructions) to 2.3.4 XXJVQ to solve the problem. Also I meant to publish what happened on his site to save other newbies from believing what he writes. And his answer was "YES" again. Now I know the trick how to use Odin by omitting pit file, I did flashed to XXJVQ. Unfortunately, the galaxy s still locked. By that time, with no search, I already know that XDA forum from their tens of Youtube videos and links on every galaxy s site for their unlocking techniques. I'm sorry I'm trying to make this story short, but I can't for I won't feel well if someone trying to help asks me "did you do that?". However I tried everything I could, using Generate Unlock and SIM less methods, on XDA to unlock, yet no luck. I logged on a site I do not recall the address and up loaded the nv_data.bin.orig and entered 8 digits twice for unlock and unfreeze. I got back the message "the file is smaller than it should". the file was 4MB. I paid for unlock code from unlock-freedom.com 2 days ago, which promised to send code within 12-24Hrs. Yes the store I bought it from is finally open today. I went there and he plugged it to laptop hooked to USB unlocking device. He tried many time and ending with the message unlocking successful on the unlocking app. Yes you got it, the Galaxy s I9000 previously I9000M still locked. On the bright side.I have Gingerbread 2.3.4 XXJPQ installed and if I dismiss unlocking screen I can log in my email. Any help from a real Expert!!!!! will the unlock code, if I receive it, solve the problem. will I ever have my new phone working again????

Ok that was pretty long and slightly confusing. But I think you lost your unlock yes? Have you tried Helroz's Galaxy S Unlock app from the market?
Thank you for replying, I'll be more than delighted to clear your confusion. The answer I coulld not try Helroz's for it's like some other methods require to gain access to efs folder. I don't have folder named efs. and the only file I found browsing internal sdcard whether through PC or Myfiles icon on mobile was nv_data.bin.org with another file called devicefriendlyname.txt with rest of regular folders like sovx and android. all under: /mnt/sdcard as it shows in the phone.

No Way I think you chould replace your TW launcher with your TV guide and look for the cable guy movie
I have a problem here installed busybox and ran it to get the following;
Root not found!
the su binary was not found on your phone. this application will not work since your phone is not rooted
Then I press OK to get:
Status: looking for Busybox....
Your phone is not rooted
you used root explorer ?? so you must be rooted
i tried restoring app with titanium and it said i wasnt rooted so i rebooted and then it worked
try that and if not then try the super one click root method
Ready to donate and hit many thanks
Yes it's me again. still trying.
can anyone write happy ending to this endless story. but please consider I'm A NOOB not anything less than that. meaning I'm not familiar with most of terms and expressions you are using here.
However, if you are following this annoying story from beginning, I'm facing a dead end again, but i know there is great hope considering the following:
I have decided to start clean so I followed instruction in this thread (NOOB GUIDE: HOW TO ROOT/ODIN/FLASH/RECOVER ** 04/28/11 W/ Videos **).
I did every thing as it should be I believe, but I'm stock half way. Phone now flashed to stock T959UJFD (I'm glad now I can say that since I know what stock means) but shuts down as soon as I plug USB cable???????
I have update.zip file on internal SD not the 2GB external.
Also have the Rom of my choice zip file (Trigger 3.2) on internal SD.
Oh I also have SuperOneClick. And Odin 1.7
tried too many things like flashing without reparation or without reboot. tried also to flash some 2.3 Rom versions. and they do work well as I saw. Only one main problem I can't root the phone (meaning I can't see efs folder to unlock phone) which what I have to do since I locked it while trying to fix GPS, in case you are not following from the start.
I also have a very light nice functional stable Arabic Persian Rom. as a matter of fact, I do not know how, but with this version of Rom the phone was able to receive calls and sms. half locked
Thank you Kyle for trying and I believe I have to hit the thanks button for you
I'd really appreciate any help to end this rather entertaining story.
dont know why it goes off when usb gets plugged in :s
you cant root rooting means you can flash custom roms which you've done ?? so you must be rooted ??
and you dont need odin or super one click on your sd (if thats what you meant)
but trying to fix gps locked it as in only open to 1 network/carrier ?? (whatever it's called where you are)

Interop-Unlock via Custom Rom on Nokia Lumia ?

Interop-Unlocking is OS-related right ? The issue is to deploy it on some device, so why not apply it on the ROM itself and then flash this ROM to the device ?!
Most of us know that flashing our Nokia Lumia just needs Data Package Manager (or NaviFirm) to download a new ROM (to get the latest version, your country, operator variant...) and Product Support Tool For Store to flash it.
So my question is can't we apply the Interop-Unlock on these files and then flash them to the phone ?

Afaik you need an unlocked bootloader to install a custom rom
our bootloaders aren't unlocked
These ROMs are most likely signed. The phone checks most likely for a valid signature upon install of those ROM thus preventing us from Manipulation ist contents.

That was an idea... and I've seen it nowhere so I just wanted to bring it to you (because I have absolutely no idea of how to do it ).
Is there no way to remove the sig from the ROM, then edit the ROM with interop unlock and then sign the thing again with the same signature you remove?
The problem is re-signing it. Only Nokia has the means to sign a file in a way that the phone will accept it, and it's likely through a unique key generated by Nokia.

I believe that requires a level of reverse engineering that I'm not sure has ever been done on a windows phone. HTC phones are able to flash a custom ROM by bypassing the need for a signed key, rather than signing it through HTC's way. If developers focused on signing them rather than bypassing the signing development on phones would take ten times longer.

I see. And on Nokia phones, can't we find a way to bypass the sig check as well? Or something similar. I remember SSPL from my HD Mini. If I remember correctly, it didn't do anything to the bootloader, it just somehow managed to have a correct check (or maybe no check at all) for the sig and then I could flash whatever I wanted. Is SSPL for Lumia 800 an option?

All I've heard about Nokia Windows Phones is that they're harder to crack and bypass than HTC and Samsung's phones; not entirely sure what makes one harder over the other.
We can modify Symbian ROMs and flash them in Phoenix. Has anyone checked that WP7 ROMs wouldn't work the same way?
I flashed a new Lumia ROM in Phoenix and the files were deployed in the same way that they deploy on Nokia Symbian devices.
So, ... maybe the Symbian firmware tools would work (with slight modification?).
Lumia bootloader will block any unsigned rom, it doesn't work in a symbian way.

I'm pretty sure Symbian bootloader is locked down too and requires signed ROMs (at least the core needs to be signed, maybe not the UDA).
I think someone found a way around it which is why we have custom ROMs on Symbian. Do you think same thing could be done on WP7?

Maybe we could ask one of the Symbian devs to help us? To take a look?
I see post with info like 'the bootloader checks to see if the rom is signed correctly' and I agree to that because I have thought about it too and came to the same conclusion. It's just logical to assume since deploying cabs and using resources (registry editing and other high privileged actions) are so well protected by MS and Nokia. (Actually this holds for other OEMs as well these days, for example HTC; v2 drivers are as well protected as the ones of Nokia and therefore as of today not providing us with the exploits earlier versions deliverd to unlock our phones.)
We could blame them for that but in fact i think they are doing a very good job in keeping things safe. That's why I appreciate for example why Heatcliff is releasing the next Root Tools (unfortunately but understandably for already Interop Unlocked phones) with a meganism that allows the user to decide which apps may have the permissions they require and which don't (to prevent malware).
Going back to the roms, has anyone actually tried to alter a ROM with the required registry settings to enable Interop Unlock in the ROM itself? I believe it's only one key that's important: "\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install\MaxUnsignedApp" that needs to be set to a value of 300 or higer for the phone to be interop unlocked (AppHub and Chevron Labs set this value to 10, AppHub student to 3). There are also a few values to keep it from relocking, but MaxUnsignedApp is the key key ;-). See http://wiki.windowsphonehacker.com/wiki/Interop_unlock.
The reason why I ask this is because I haven't seen any tools around here that allow the ROM files to be editted. I know most of them are just zip files (rename them and you can look inside), but then you end up with other files that i do not see how to edit.
My point is: As long as we have not tried this approach we cannot confirm our (I admit most likely true hypothesis that the altered rom will be rejected by means of invalid signature).
Also, take note that there are two ways of flashing a rom that we know of:
* Refurbished flashing, which requires the phone to be 'alive', and
* Recovery flashing, which first gets the phone's bootloader in some sort of 'download' mode
This last recovery mode might seem the best way (as in least protected) to start with.
Note: I'm not an expert in this like HeathCliff and GoodDayToDie, I'm just trying to offer some ideas and give a summary for what is my understanding of the current situation by reading this forums.
Seems a good idea However, I doubt if the phone would accept the altered ROM, not mentioning HOW are we going to change it? My guess: the phone makes sort of hash from the ROM-file and if it's not allright, it rejects. Altering the registry key, would also alter the hash-code. (Or maybe it's just not working that way but I give the key to uncrackable ROM's). Whatever, just posting what comes to my mind...
I have an idea - we can install updates from cab. Update cab contains some new cabs and inside them we can find rgu files.
And here's my idea -> add registry settings for interop to the rgu and prepare a new cab with update.
Has anyone tried it yet?

[Q] CM 10.1 folder issue

Hello friends,
This is my first ever post on xda, I've been rooting and flashing for about 2 years now, and xda has always been spot on when it came to finding solutions, anyhow I have stumbled upon a problem for which I am unable to find a solution for, this message is a distress call, kindly help me out.
I was using a rooted hox+ for a couple of months now with a 4.2 pure rom without any issues, I felt like checking out the cm10.1 by lloir , so I downloaded all the necessary files and stuffed in into my phone. I cleared up my dalvik caches and made a full wipe (factory reset ), then I flashed the rom ( CM10.1 by lloir) and the gapps bundled with it, and then the appropriate kernel (mentioned in the rom thread, I made sure It was the very same ). every thing went on perfect untill i the rom got booted, after which i wasnt able to use any of my gapps nor download anything frm the browser, Now I am aware that this is because of the change from 4.1 to 4.2 where the default folder is changed due to multi user thing. Ive read and searched the threads for any possible solution, I stumbled upon a similar situation by a xda member "member" on the CM10.1 thread, he had the same problem that i was facing which he got through, but he got through it by accident which is why I am unable to track his steps for a solution. Now the situation is such that I have and erased sd card with no data at all, the only thing that is fine is that the ROM and the recovery are in a working condition. Im unable to sideload anyother roms or any of that stuff.
Due to the fact that this is my first post I cant directly post anything on the CM10.1 thread which is why im trying this indirect method, any senior member who can help me out here or any moderator who can get me through to the CM10.1 thread, I would appriciate that a lot. I really need my phone back with working google apps and a proper file structure compatible with 4.2, I was wondering if i could manually create a folder wich may accomplish that but I wouldn't know how to, any light on that would also be of help apart from any other solution.
HOX+ international, CM10.1, (4.2.2) (kernel 3.1.10-blade)

First did you try clearing Cache and Data for GAPPS in setings>apps?
Do you have CWM or TWRP installed? Have you tried sideloading another Rom through recovery?
Well, your sdcard is wiped so i take it all your important files were backed up. Easiest solution would be re-lock the bootloader and use the RUU for your device. Then unlock bootloader and re-root. Not optimal i know, but it will work.

Firstly thankyou for a quick response,
Yes, I did clear the cache.
I use CWM recovery, I tried sideloading through it, all the drivers are installed properly, but I'm unsure as to why the sideloading through the One X+ toolkit doesn;t function, anyhow as advised above I shall defenitely try re-locking the bootloader, but as far as the RUU is concerned I wouldn't know which one is for my device, If you could help me locate it and mention a few steps regarding its implemention, I'd be grateful. Im using the international version of the HTC OneX+.

use the app available on the playstore or here called CID Getter. Then use the cid to find out which RUU you need and download RUU from here.

the playstore ain't functioning bro, I can't access any google apps, and am unable to download anything at all from the browser. I'm really not sure what the callsign of my device is, If you'd rather confirm it for me, I think it is known as the endeavour, if I you can pinpoint the RUU file ... I shall get to implementing it asap bro. And I shall be using hasoon2000 one x+ all in one kit to install the RUU,
please advice.

Your device is not endeavour, but endeavor C2. it is shown as ENRC2B though
the problem is i can't pinpoint your device. just no way for me to tell which version you need. if you look at this link, you will see that there are many options for international version of HOX+. I have the ATT version.
One of those RUUs is for your device. You might want to take a look and see if something looks like it would work for you.
using ADB to get CID
1. boot into bootloader (volume down + power button) or connect phone to pc via usb, in adb type : adb reboot-bootloader
2. you're now in bootloader
3. type fastboot getvar cid (in windows) or sudo fastboot getvar cid (in ubuntu/debian), you'll see cid:HTC_044 (my case)
Then look here to find out which version
k I got it... its HTC__J15
I've downloaded the firmware.zip but i can't get through to the dropbox link for the RUU variants in the above mentioned thread !!!
Edit : I got through to the RUU variants too, there are about nine of them.crossing out vodafone and o2 im left with 7. RU
edit 2 : okay, 3 RUU's with the numbers x.xx.415.x in the list. can anyone of them be used ?

yes but you may need to flash back stock recovery before you relock. Not sure if it will just flash recovery over CWM.

That's how you put a smile on a face. All thanx to u Jokah. Stock stuff up and running, ill be taking a few days to get rooting and flashing again to overcome the folder issue, what's in my is that I shall install the aokp 4.1 and then upgrade to aokp 4.2 which i've read automatically solves the folder issue. Shall put up everything here in case anyone else needs any help.
Once again .. thanx mate.
