Need help. Australia I9300T??? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys i just don't understand the difference between international S3 and Australia Vodafone S3 with code T
Does anyone figure out any differences?
And are there any customised roms that fit this type of S3?
Thx

No difference for development purpose. Both are same. Only difference is that T version is more customised for 850 networks.
The only thing you need to make sure is to use modem version that is more suitable to your network. But that does not mean that other modems can brick your device.

From reports I have read on Whirlpool, with the Galaxy S2 there was no improvement on the 'T' version on Telstra, but Telstra actually 'detuned' the 900mhz channel....
I had issues on Telstra with my non- T version S2, losing connection in my kitchen etc.... I used a friends 'T' version- absolutely no difference, the same asu etc right next to each other, same data rate, same issue of people not hearing me from my kitchen...
I know that is not discussing the S3, but it wouldn't surprise me if there is no difference at all, just marketing a way to promote some sort of exclusivity. When I was on Telstra with the S2, other modems than the Telstra one actually gave me better data rates...

Thanks anyway.
Now my I9300T is under the 2-year contract with Vodafone. The net lock hasn't unlocked yet.
Is there anything I should do before flashing any rom I want? I mean do I have to crack the net lock before flashing via odin or CWM?

Just got mine today from vodafone.. unlocked it in 30min.. did a SIM swap @ Telstra. Got home flashed cfroot the revolution hd superwipe then revolution hd2.2
Sending you this message from it right now

Cool and thx:good:
Actually I'm just from I9000 which I used for 2 years. It seems that the ways of flashing roms through odin or CWM are excetly same.
I'm new here. Looks like XDA has several forums for different versions of S3 (ATT, T-mobile, etc). So next time when I want to find some roms or discuss with you guys, shall I post in the forum named "Samsung Galaxy S III I9300" or other S3 forum with a specific tele company name ?

What should I do to get it on the AT&T network?
I have already purchased the phone and the sim card from AT&T is already on its way here.
I have tried searching but I only find threads on rooting and flash custom roms but I havent found one that states which rom would work for International phone on ATT's network
Any help would be appreciated. Cause I am now worried I bought a $700 paper weight I cant use.

The international one WILL work on at&t, I think the op was kind of misleading.
It seems slim thought you were asking if international roms will work on US S3.
Tbh I thought the same.
Any rom in the development section here will work on your phone. No problem.
Just as long as its the international model, GT-I9300.
Sent via some sort of internet thing
My bad. Yeah, it's one of those confusing sentences. If you have I9300 then whatever is in this board will work.

[Help] Vacations in USA - What radio to flash?

Hi!
Next September I'm going to travel to the USA (and also Canada).
I'm currently using XXMS2 radio.
I'm thinking on buying a T-Mobile or a AT&T SIM card.
What is a good radio for this networks and also gps so I can have the zip ready to flash when I arrive in the USA?
Thanks in advance!
Best regards.
I used my sgs2 with a t-mobile prepaid SIM in the US this summer and it worked quite well. My RIL and basband are both XXLS8. (truth be told though my guess is XXMS2 will work just fine.)

Thanks for the info man! Just for precaution, I'll have the XXLS8 zip on my sd card ready to flash if I have any problem..
By the way, how much did you paid for your T-Mobile SIM and what were the conditions/data plan?
Thanks in advance!

Do a search for I9100 modems. Easily found.
I have and I cant find any for usa

Hang on...
Are you talking about an I9100 or a I-727 ? Because if you're talking about the latter, you're posting in the wrong forum & need to find/post in I-727 Q&A.
If you do have an I9100, you need to search for/find threads where people have mentioned modems which work well with the I9100 in the US (there are no specific US modems for the I9100 as it was never sold by carriers there), then search for/find the modems in question.
Ya I have the i9100 but had to use this because I have no internet on the i9100 ... I did find the post on it but could not find the usa one I was looking for ug but could not find one any place I did flash kg5 but the network comes and go's in and out and most apps wont load thats why I was hoping that someone would send me to the right place or at least tell me witch one they use here in the US

Ahhh OK. No, don't flash a T-Mobile modem, totally different firmware. Other than trial & error, you're going to have to wait/hope someone who uses an I9100 in the US sees your thread & offers advice (bump it once a day).

New VZW S4 LTE-A model? SCH-I545L

Could there be a new LTE-A model coming out soon along with the Note 3?
Source code is availabe for a SCH-I545L online at the Samsung Opensource site.
Even if it is, it's for supported markets only (read: korea) and the vzw s4 already supports voLTE so it really doesn't matter
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4
Its about Dev support since the newer S4 will probably use a Snapdragon S800 and baseband will be completely different and othere H/W bits might be slightly different.
Short answer is no. Long answer is long but also no.
Oh no. It is coming out FOR SURE. I'm sure they confirmed it like in May. But it's only for the korean market.

Yeah, I know its already out in the Korean market and there are rumors of the i9506 model for the International market with the updated chipset.
But this is the first time I've seen Source Code out for a VZW model that is not retailing yet.
I have a regional carrier in WI that just released the Galaxy s4 yesterday... sure enough model number SCH-I545L
Yep Cellcom (NE Wisconsin's monopolistic carrier) just started selling the S4 last Friday....
Here is the system info
Hope to get it rooted soon as I find the touchwiz interface to be total garbage compared to stock android... Also it's terrible at resizing fonts on in apps

You might be able to follow the Verizon subsection for this phone. I'm pretty sure this phone was released by Verizon for smaller carriers. Roms might work on it from that section. Rooting can be done no matter what carrier. If you incorrectly flash a wrong ROM for your phone, the data will not work.

What root method will work? The build number ends with WWUAMG6.
I just picked up the i545L yesterday on Cellcom in WI as well. I am also waiting for root but i installed Zeam from the play store to get rid of Samsung's TW Launcher in the mean time.
Has anybody figured out the best way to root the SCH-I545L?

at&t radio for verizon note 2??

im using my note 2 with at&t.. i get 3g/hspa+ now untouched stock 4.1.2 verizon note 2. would it be possible to flash a custom rom then a at&t radio to pick up lte?
I'm interested in this as well. I'm currently using Straight Talk (AT&T) on my i605. 4G would be awesome! I've done some reading, and supposedly it's just a software restriction holding us back from connecting to that band. I could be wrong.

i dont think it'd work without bricking/killing the radio to your phone all together, but i could be wrong, especially since I'm still running on vzw.
Maybe flashing an AT&T modem would do the trick. I'm scared to try though. I don't want to end up with a paperweight...

no you do not want to flash another carriers modem/radio unless you want to permanently lose data.

agreed, but you do not want to flash another carriers radio/modem or another carriers stock firmware via odin. Flashing a .zip rom in recovery that has been properly modified for another carrier is different.
I'm on Net10 and I'm running a AT&T rom . only ROM I have found that let's me run 4.3. I tried T-Mobile but couldn't even get it to flash. But one att rom worked for me. Didn't have to add any APN setting. Just worked flawlessly

Modem that will work with all SIM cards?

I unlocked my SGH-I717 by accessing the hidden menu via the Dialer. It works with my tmobile sim card fine. What I'm wondering is would it work with any SIM card with the TMOBILE ICS modem, or do I need to use a different modem? I'm planning on selling it on ebay and need to know, because I need to make sure that I can advertised it as unlocked and able to work with any SIM. I would greatly appreciate any helpful response.
You can tell the buyers that the phone is unlocked and they can flash their own modem if things don't work on their network.
There is no good answer to your question.

I have one ATT i717 that's a been a pain with a weak signal. My questions
1-I am looking for a good modem, which baseband are you running?
2-I want to install AOKP 4.4.2 on wifey's phone but video issue had been a deal killer; I am not sure if I read somewhere that that is/was fixed with a patch or similar. Can you confirm if your video works ok? And if you have any other issue at all you have encountered with that ROM?

I've noticed a slight signal loss too with every 4.4 ROM I've tried. They all seem to have the same video issue as well. @Polluti0n has a video patch, that works great for me on all the 4.4 roms, in the OP here:
