How do I flash a splash page? - HTC Rezound

I have the zip (which fails in AR).
I have the splash1.img file from
the zip.
Is there a f'astboot flash splash filename.ext'
command? Or do I rename the zip file for
hboot?

You have to be s-off to flash splashes and must have them as splash1.img in a ph98img

I'm guessing your talkin about team win recovery. Find it in dev section. Dl it rename it PG86IMG.zip put it on the root of your SD. Power off and go into boot loader it will tell u how to do the rest.

I believe you have to open the ruu img and look for the recovery.img file
Open the ruu img with a ISO program like magic iso or power iso

I have to rename It?
Here is the stock recovery from the cdma 2.17 ruu in a PG86IMG.
Simply put it on the root of your sd card and then boot to your bootloader and let it flash.

install adb, fastboot and your device drivers.
go to your adb and fastboot folder put the recoveryEVO3D.img (extracted from the rar tailsthecat3 provided) there.
next go to the command prompt, navigate to the folder with adb in it, and type "adb reboot bootloader" (without the quotations ofc)
when your phone has booted into the bootloader (it should say FASTBOOT USB near the top), type "fastboot flash recovery recoveryEVO3D.img" (again without the quotation marks).
Please be careful, as attempting to flash a CDMA recovery on a GSM phone and vice versa is a bad idea.
That said the recoveryEVO3D.img above is CDMA i believe.

I need flashable boot.img

OK so here's my problem. In a nutshell, I was using my dude Chingys ineff. Made a backup n flashed the clean ics with its own flashable boot.img after the flash. I made a restore and tried to go back to ineff. Well clearly that's a problem without the right boot image. I flashed one I had with my fingers crossed and that wasn't the correct one. Now I can't even do a fresh install of clean ics because its boot image won't work now. Chingy is away from his PC and can't dropbox it to me. Can anyone help me with this so I can flash it without my PC (I'm at work) and restore my ineff backup? Please n thanks community! =)

boot.img is in the ROM file. Just use a zip program to open the file and it will be right there. You'll need to use ADB to push the file to your phone, can't flash a img file. Or use Scott's CleanFlash program.

Sorry, didn't see you wanted something without a computer.
Have you tried reinstalling CleanICS. It's set up to create the flashable zip file for you.
Edit: Here is a post on how to create the flashable zip file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454255
I don't use ineff so I don't have the boot.img file for you.
afaik all you need to do is copy the boot.img and androidinfo.txt from the rom and zip it as PH89img.zip on the root of your sd card and flash through hboot
I'm having the same issue. I was on BAMF ROM and tried to install Clean ICS. The install went fine but the fastboot failed. Said the IMG was older.. tried other roms and the only way I could get my phone to boot up was to do a clean install of the BAMF ROM.
Not trying to hijack the thread just don't get why any of the ROMs I tried all fail the fastboot IMG except for the BAMF ROMS.

From my understanding BAMF ROM must be using a newer revision number and that is why you fail. Are you flashing from HBOOT or computer using fastboot? I thought you could push an earlier file through the computer.

where to find the latest boot img

title says it all. I'm not sure where to find the latest boot img
help? links would be best.
The boot.img from the latest stock rom? Can't you unzip the rom and get it or use flash gui?
can't use flash gui, phone is stuck at boot.
I'll try unzipping, thanks!
I'm not too familiar with ADB stuff but you might need to use that. There's guides for that in the dev section.
Extract the kernel from the Rom you flashed. Once you have the boot image, place it in you adb tools folder or SDK and connect to pc. Open the terminal and navigate to the folder and type fastboot flash boot boot.img
Well there ya go!
werd. Ok, I'm working on it. Thank you.
You misspelled word.
You misspelled "I'm a grammar nazi.".
I couldn't resist...
Well then, shouldn't the "g" and "n" be capitalized? - "Grammar Nazi":silly:
I am a grammar Nazi, and proud of it!
I have a program called boot.IMG flasher in Original Dev that has the latest boot.IMG, modules, and will even flash it for you if stuck in bootloop or in bootloader.

[S-Off][Installer] Recovery Install Zip - Flash Recovery.img From Recovery

Flash A Recovery .img File From Recovery
Snuzzo has asked me to post this recovery flashing tool. It will let you insert any recovery that you use (must me the .img file) into the zip with 7 zip and then have a flashable recovery installer.
This eliminates the need to fastboot flash recovery or to use a PH98IMG.zip and flash from hboot.
Instructions:
1.) Place the recovery.img of your choice into the folder named "recovery" (Hint: It Says "put.recovery.img.here" in the folder where it goes)
2.) Place the zip onto your external sd card (ext_sdcard)
3.) Boot to recovery and flash the zip file
4.) Device will reboot, reboot manually if using TWRP and auto reboot doesn't work
This is snuzzos work not my own, I'm only posting it for him.
Download Link: http://d-h.st/OxR
Disclaimer: If you break, shatter, or brick your phone using this installer, we take NO responsibility. If you have random reboots, your phone sparks or smokes, or your wife divorces you, those are matters we refuse to be liable for, take up with Dr. Phil.
Might post an s on auto reboot version of this later.

Make a nandroid...then flash the zip in recovery. Then pick reboot recovery and enjoy
There are 3 ways to flash a recovery, depending on what type it is.
1. If it is a recovery.zip type, just flash it in recovery like any other zip file.
2. If it is a .tar.md5 or .tar file, flash it in Odin.
3. If it is a img file, rename it to recovery.img, and copy it to the root of your SD card, in terminal or adb shell, do this command:
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2
If you want to flash as img but the file is zip or .tar.md5, simply open up the zip file and extract the img file inside. For .tar.md5, rename it to .tar first, and extract it. The img file is inside too.

The terminal mode was the right one.
Thanks for all answers.
