Hi,
I am having trouble with My Samsung Galaxy S2 (ICS 4.0.3) Sim alert and mobile tracker.
I go to Settings -> Location and security -> Find my mobile and everytime I try to check SIM CHANGE ALERT it says in progress but it doesn't check so I am unable to check or set up the other two options (Alert message recipients or remote controls) so can't track my mobile with Dive.
I have a samsung account and I am signed in...
Can anyone help me out - be much appreciated.

Maybe you should try to remove your sim card, reinsert it and try again,,,
If it does not work, check other security options for any errors..
Yes, i have tried that...but nothing changes....
I had this problem the other week. If I remember correctly, I had to delete the Samsung account (don't worry, there's a bug in Samsung's ICS 4.0.3 which allows you to remove it without doing a factory wipe!), then re-add it, and go into Samsung Apps->My page->Downloads to check that it's working properly.
Oh, and it should go without saying that you need a data connection (3G or WiFi) and your Samsung account password...

Yes it's works ! Thanks for your help cowbutt....
we just need to remove and re-add the samsung account...
1. just go to Settings > Accounts and sync then remove your samsung account from there....
2. then go to Settings > Security > Find my mobile > check the menu "SIM change alert" then insert your samsung id and password...now the menu is checked.
for menu "Remote Controls" same as step 2.
if one of the above menu checked will automatically add your samsung account to account and sync menu.

SIM alert sending IMEI instead of Phone number
After ICS upgrade 4.0.3 in Galaxy S2, SIM change feature sending IMEI number when SIM changing!! Previously it was sending phone number.
Anybody knows how to fix it?

Yes , I tested this feature on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100G, it works and It really sends the IMEI number.
But if you checked the source of the message it will be definitley , the phone number.
so you have both IMEI and Phone number.

Exactly same problem i have been gone thru,and ur comment made it to resolve imediately.Actually i hav disabled my samsung account few days ago due to low space in phone memory and 'sim change alert' and ' remote sim ' could not get open in settings.Now it gets configured after enabling samsung account otherwise it says 'Unfortunately!! Setting has been stopped'

I just bought the phone in India a couple of days back. I wanted to update the phone s/w, from currently v10c, to v 10d. But every time I try and after accepting all the terms and conditions, midway through the process I get a message that the phone don't support S/W update. I have installed all the necessary driver. The programs recognises my phone. It even tells me that there is S/W update available for my phone. What could be the problem? Am I missing any setting on the phone that is restricting it from updating? Help me out please.

1.first go to settings->applications->development-> now check usb debugging..
2. connect phone to computer
3. 2 notifications will pop up
4. turn on usb mass storage
5. do the usual steps necessary that u did before
Thank You so much it worked. The usb debugging option needed to be checked. But the mass storage option needed to remain unchecked. Its now updated to android 2.2.2. And contrary to what others have said about slowing down the system, I think it made my phone faster and snappier after the initial booting process. I highly recommend updating the phone to this version. And thanks for ur reply zeemar007.
There is one more thing I wanted to know. I have synced my contacts with google. and I have changed the settings in the display option to show contacts only in my gmail account. But still for certain contacts it shows the phone pc sync copy of the contacts as well while for some it don't. Cause of this the details of these contacts show the birthday twice with the same date. When I go to edit of these contacts it shows both gmail and phone pc sync. How do I correct it to show only Phone Pc sync. Even though all the contacts have a copy in the gmail account and in the phone this happens to only few contacts. What could be the issue? Is this some bug?

well ur second problem seems to me as if u have some problem which GENERALLY OCCURS BECOZ U HAVE SOME CONTACTS SAVED IN PHONE MEMORY WHILE SOME ARE SAVED IN SIM CARD.. is dat so??? lemme know..

I do have a backup in my sim but I have unchecked all option from display settings in sim and phone keeping only the gmail contacts option checked. Also all the contacts are backed up in my sim. But this problem only shows up in a few of the contacts.

go to user cp> options > default thread subscription mode> select no email notification.
this way, whatever thread you post in, the same thread will be listed in the main page of your user cp. so this way you will know if somebody has posted a reply to your post.

u can do this (NOT RECOMMENDED!!!)
1. DELETE ALL UR CONTACTS FROM PHNE MEMORY i.e clear the contacts
2. now synchronyse ur phone via pc
3. this way u will get what u want 2 c in contacts
if u use wifi, 3g or data connections then deactivate gmail synchronysation.. from contacts or else ur gmail contacts will showup in ur contacts list..
ONLY DO ThIS IF UR really desperate

Happy new year to all in XDA! whell now, the question: i use a rom based on V20A (brazil) and when i enter in "About the phone -> Status" i can see my phone number and operator! it only say "Desconocido"(Unknow) in spanish.
I test some rom based in other version and have the same bug, how i can fix this? or how i can add the info of my operator in venezuel "Digitel"?
why i need that? because i can put my photo to the sms system and other thing related to my profile, like sync with facebook, twitter, etc...

Okey, that because
1. Your cellular provider dont give your phone number on your SIM (hardware)
2. Android dont have 3rd application that have access to change your phone number (as i know, CMIIW).
What can you do for having your phone number on your status?
1. Use another phone like sonyericson or nokia that can give access to give "my number" on SIM card (i dont have specific knowledge about the series of phone)
2. Move your sim from android to another phone.
3. Give your phone number on setting.
4. Move back your sim to android, and check what you have done...

Hey all, I recently installed WanamLite V7.5 XXLP2 4.0.3 Final rom and it seems to be working fine, great actually but there is one huge problem. Whenever I enter the market, there is a "Server error" message and I cannot even see any apps on the market.
I tried using the method Wanam has given on the website, to remove the gmail account, reboot and add the account again. However, it does not seem to be working and I still get the message. I also tried to clear application data for Market in Settings>Apps but it does not fix the problem.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I don't want to because the data connection is not stable, tink its sth got to do with the system changing the APNs. Do you have a solution?

Mine too..I am now currently in 'Wetscript's Ressurection v7.4 ICS LP2' I am still getting Market 'Server Error'..but I tried the latest MIUI V4 Fresh its good and everything is working fine except unable to mout USB storage apart from viewing..

YOU CAN TRY FOLLOWING THINGS
1) Change The Language of your phone to Any language. Come out of Settings.
Open Market. Check whether the Terms and Conditions is coming... Or Server Error Comes.. Go Back to Settings and Change it to Desired Language and Again Open Market. (Works Well if used English Language)
2) Go To Settings -> Apps -> Clear Data -> Force kill the application. Go Back and Again Start Market.
3) If 2nd thing doesn't work alone. Do the second Step again and Make sure that you open market only in WIFI.
Hope one of the method works for you ...

Since I have updated to Android version I9100XWLSD (4.1.2) JB Nordic Countries, would I earn up to 50GB of storage on Dropbox? If so, how to activate this?
Another thing: I'm not getting to enable remote control (Config / Security / Remote Controls), I enter the Samsung account password (the account is already registered on the phone) and a message "To enable remote controls, you must register with a Samsung account and select Google location service below". Below that appear two options, Account registration with my the email address (if I click on the address nothing happens), and just below appears Use wireless networks, which is already marked. Could someone check if your GSII behaves the same? I really would like to enable remote controls of my phone (via samsungdive)
Also, I am not able to backup the device using my Samsung account, but I was able to synchronize my data.

You won't get 50 gb from dropbox by installing build LSD, only the JB leak - LSJ. I personally don't use the Samsung apps.

I bought Samsung Galaxy ACE GT-S5830i. But in phone there is still previous owners messages, phonebook, mail synced to smartphone. And now i need to delete it's Samsung account to factory reset it. Can you guys help? I can't directly delete it. Cause it asks me for password of Samsung account.
Any tips?
Because of it i can't use my SIM card, Call or smth...
