HELP! Samsung galaxy s2 sgh-t989 stuck in the ultimate boot loop. - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, so heres the deal. The s2 is my sisters phone, and she comes home and told me the phone wont turn on, that its stuck on the boot screen and it just keeps turning off and doing it again. So I started looking into it (Im an iPhone user, so I'm not too familiar with android devices. BUT I do know a bit about computers, cell phones and just technology in general). I ended up finding out that its stuck in a soft brick. So I started youtubing how to fix it. Found a great method using Odin3 and Samsung Kies. AND IT WORKED. I turned the phone back on, got past the lock screen and everything was all good.
After about 30 seconds, THE PHONE BRICKED AGAIN:crying:. And it went right back into the boot loop, I cant get it into download mode because it just keeps restarting after a couple of seconds. With that happening, I cant get the computer to recognize it so I can do a recovery fix with Samsung Kies. I legit cannot find any solution to it.
The thing that baffles me and is causing me a huge headache is the fact that THE PHONE IS NOT ROOTED. nothing has been done to it, its completely stock. So if there is no solution to it, can somebody at least tell me what might have been able to cause this?
Thanks to all,
Dariel

Well, you're in the wrong forum for the SGH-T989. That's probably your issue.

[Q] Galaxy Vibrant - 2 Problems

Product: Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant i9000m
Problem 1:
Connect usb into phone from laptop - both connected
Battery appears for second and continues loops
-=-Unplug
Problem 2:
Power on phone, stays on Vibrant Logo
I try to get into recovery and it just loops the Samsung Galaxy S and Vibrant logo.
Looking for solution to fix this, as it wont connect to my laptop - cause it loops and since it does that, I cannot use odin.
Have you recently dropped it? Ive seen phones get dropped or knocked around and a cable/ribbon comes a little loose on the inside that will cause that. I usually take apart and re-seat the cables/ribbons. By the way, are you running a ROM?
Sorry for late reply
I managed to fix it in the afternoon, I placed the stock of the wrong provider on the phone and it messed up, so I found Sasktel i9000m stock firmware and installed that without problem. Thought it bricked on me, but got it fixed

[Q] Problems with Samsung Galaxy Rugby (GT-S5690R)

So, like many a noob before me, excitedly learning about the world of rooting and having no Idea what they were doing, I broke my phone.
At first I thought my phone was bricked (boot looped) and I was trying to teach myself ADB to fix it. But I've realized if I leave it on for 45 or so minutes it'll actually start up. Now, as annoying as that is, I can work around it (don't turn off the phone unless I'm not gonna need it for awhile) and my main problem is that it's stuck in Airplane mode. I can "switch it on or off" but it always stays on.
Any Ideas as to might be causing this?
Factory Data Reset doesn't do anything.
Thanks!!

[Q] Any fix for Intl. SGS3 frozen at boot?

Yesterday night my phone suddenly switched off and restarted in my pocket, as it sometimes happens. But this time the phone froze at the first Samsung logo. Same thing happens when I plug in the charger, the first charging icon appears without any more movement.
I rooted my phone of course and use MIUI JB at this time. Also, I cannot boot into CWM and ODIN does not recognize it when connected to my PC in download mode.
I got all the necessary drivers on my PC, just a few days ago everything with ODIN went fine aswell. Also i tried to restart my PC, still no better. KIES shut down in task manager of course
Had anyone have similar problem and knows a fix for that? It would be really appreciated!
looks like sudden death
do you mean like the thing where the motherboard gives up? so my only chance would be exchanging it, right?
You phone is dead. Take it to samsung or the carrier you bought it from. Considering you had it rooted and flashed...if you can get in to the download mode then your warranty is void cause the binary counter won't be 0. And if you are lucky enough that it is completely dead then you get a brand new one.
well, i got to download mode and interestingly it showed flash counter zero and that it had stock samsung firmware, which is strange since i had MIUI flashed. also there was a third thing showing something like "no information" or "unknown". but it might aswell have been under one of the other two headlines.
any ways i mailed it back, lets see what they will do.

[Q] possible brick?

Hey guys and gals, I think my note 2 is bricked. I am on stock rom, dont know specific builds, probably whatever is the latest update. I was using the phone friday afternoon and all of a sudden it just shut off. I tried to get it to turn back on, but it would only go to the Samsung galaxy note 2 bootup screen, then do the sounds to boot up. Then it would reboot. I did a battery pull, and it will not even make the sounds now (still get the bootup logo) then shuts off. I have searched some on the forums and I can get it into download mode and i can get to the screen where i can reboot/factory reset/ update (i have the red triangle w/ black exclamation mark). I have to hold the buttons down first and then install the battery to do either though. I have played with roms some when i had a galaxy nexus, but am a little rusty on it. I have not tried to install any roms on this phone though. Anyone know what might have went wrong/what i need to do to fix? I did a factory reset to no avail. Also, like i said, i have done some flashing if thats what i have to do, but really good directions would be great. Thanks.

I don't know if it's broke or...

Greetings,
I'm new in this Forum. I have been searching all around internet about my problem and couldn't find any solution, so I'm here calling for help from you.
My problem is quite simple to describe. I have my old friend's phone, who left it at my house 6 months ago. Now that my friend is gone, I'm trying to fix this phone.
The issue is that it has a Power Button broken (I can't start it on) so I have to plug it, but once done it can't go beyond the logo, then it keeps restarting again and again and again until I remove the battery. At this point, I told myself that I only have to do a factory reset and flash it, but then after installing the drivers, getting the firmware ready and stuff, when booting the phone to the flashboot mode, it keep restarting again and again and again...
Is there anyway to fix this? Or does it mean that the phone is gone?
