After recently purchasing a Razr Maxx I have noticed the battery isn't nearly as good as expected. After 12 hours of moderate use (about an hour of Angry Birds, screen at ~60%, 100 texts and about 20 minutes of 3G usage) the battery was down to orange. It is on its third charge right now, however its already on 70% battery after some Temple Run and an hour or so of Wifi. Could it be defective? Should I wait a couple more charges?
Im not even on ICS as I'm in the UK, that also means 4G can't be causing any run down either. Signal in my area is a bit patchy, but I hoped the Maxx could more than handle it.

Do you have Facebook running in the background or some other app that might be sucking on your battery.
Unroot, or go back to stock, wipe, and clear cache. If that doesnt solve it, call Verizon for a replacement. Most of the time, its a rogue app, or a bad flash.
The battery info is telling me quite regular things, display is using 40-50%, games for an hour are about 10% and then Wifi and Android OS take up most of the remaining. I dont suspect it is a rogue app.
If you guys think it should be lasting longer Ill go into the shop I bought it from and probably get it replaced as I've only had it a couple of days.
And for the record here in the UK phones aren't provider specific and Verizon doesn't have a network!

Check for apps on startup or ones that are consuming battery. Im constantly getting 16-24hrs on my standard razr with heavy usage.

Definitely should be getting better life than that. I just got 40+ hours with 4+ hours screen time and still had 11% remaining. Simply amazing. Running unofficial CM9.
Using the stock battery usage app is not enough.
1) You need to use GSAM battery monitor, to find out EXACTLY which apps are waking your device from letting it sleep properly, and by how much % & how much time spent.
2) You need to use CPUSpy to check your razr maxx is EVEN sleeping AT ALL.
If you have done both steps, and you dont have crazy apps that are waking your devices a couple hundred times in a few hours, and that CPUSpy is showing that your razr is sleeping properly (or not), then I advise go send it in for warranty..
I think what happened in your case is, someone probably did a dodgy and removed the razr maxx battery and replaced it with a normal battery.. May I ask did you buy it from an online store? Because I just bought one and am now worried these third party stores are doing these kind of dodgy things.

Also, you can go into the device information through the Dialer.
You press a certain combination of # and * and numbers, and you cna find out exactly what battery is inside your phone. I would do that first, cause your battery sounds like its just a normal razr batt..

I had the same impression when I got RAZR Maxx, but to be fair the first thing I did was turning the screen background light to maximum. I changed it back to auto when I noticed that the battery doesn't live up to my expectations. It's jolly good now.
BTW we are right now getting an ICS update in the UK, got notified this morning but I will make a plunge later.

I'm not a devout believer in such tests, but if the score would be much less than mine, I'd thought it over what to do next... Otherwise, there may be other reasons (most probably, software related ones).
Plug the phone in at night and then unplug it in the morning use the phone all day do not check the battery status and plug it in at night . you need to use that phone you need to cycle the battery. Depending on what account you have it could take anywhere up to 3 days for the background data to sync everything from YouTube to your email to all the other stuff it in there. That's on a stock rom. On custom roms you need to know what all the settings are for and set them manually. I've had great Luck with the stuff in my sig as I live 100 miles from 4g and my phone is always searching, and I let it. I try to plug it in every day but I easily make 2.

I agree with the OP. My Droid Razr Maxx didn't live up to the hype, traded it for a 2 week old S3.

I went in today and told the manager about my problem - for some reason he seemed to think that I should only expect that much battery life from a Maxx! I don't think he'd ever used one, as he seemed to think it was a regular old smartphone! I kept on insisting that it should be lasting better than it was, tomorrow I will unplug it and see how it fairs. I have reinstalled all the apps I had on my old one, so if I still have the same problems I will check out the suggested battery monitors.
I don't believe my phone even has a 4G radio, no phones in the UK do yet, we're not really getting any networks until next year. My network are doing a trial on 4G starting September, however only a select few phones are gonna have 4G. So yeah, there's no worries about that draining my battery. My house is pretty bad when it comes to signal, however my Maxx is only lasting as long as my old Droid on the same signal, and it is lasting less than an S3 on similar signal. Poor signal kills battery. I'm in Mexico and I'm running miui Rom. Today will try official ics for Brazil, but I agree. Too much hype on the battery life. ICS is no better for battery life anyway.

I dunno, we tend to lose some perspective. I think we got used to the Maxx's battery. I can go easily a full heavy use 24 hour cycle without recharging. Neither of my friends with Android can go past 5-8 hours. When I was offered the Maxx they said "It goes a full day without having to charge the battery".
It certainly does. I expect no miracles, after all it's a mobile battery.
The best way I've found to save battery ( I had the same problem, ran through forums, and finally got it up to around 20 hrs average- with heavy texting) was a combination of things.
-Buy and Use CPU Sleeper
-JuiceDefender Ultimate
-turn off mobile data when not using (In class I turn this off so I only get texting)
I'm running rooted stock, and these so far get me through an entire day on one charge. Hope it helps.

finally got my razr maxx, and am suffering from the OP problem, drains much faster than expected, but this is fresh out of the box (battery not cycled(?), i however think the manufacturer SHOULD have cyc;ed the battery (unless this is a consumer myth to solving our own probs)
So, not sure if this is overhyped this ''21 hours talk time on 4g'', given that im only 2g/3g and its draining pretty quickly.
However, if users are reporting full day with heavy usage,i find that realisitic & if you can last that long, no probs with the battery (I stream 3g radio on 3g to and from work, and games here and there browsing, etc) <-- my usual charge per day

I thought i would share some bad experences i've had in the last 2 weeks with the DX2.
Droid #1, worked -GREAT- for about 48 hours, started randomly rebooting, then went into a non-recoverable bootloop.
Exchanged for Droid #2
Droid #2, right out of the gate would go into airplane mode all by itself, Sometimes while sitting in the multimedia dock, sometimes while txting. Took it to the store, they played with it, factory reset, and when they got done, it would not even get a 3G connection.
Droid #3 - Battery life sucks horribly, same setup as last two(apps, LWP, etc), but i only get about ~4hours battery life with moderate use, where the first two i got about 7 hours.
If i have any issues i'm going back to my Cyanogen 7 OG Droid
I would take out back for a charge or a thunderbolt. I have this as a work phone and I have not seen anything impressive.

Ouch! You've gotten some real lemons! Battery life for me so far has been as good as with my DX, even with better performance in general. The X2 could use some improvement, but you may just want to freeze some blot, use a power management app, and/ or even get a new battery before giving up on it.
something that worked well yesterday, i ran the battery down to -dead- and let it on the charger for 4hours, i got ~ 10 hours mixed light/moderate use and its ~ 40% just now.
battery life on my phone is outstanding
when i get home in the evening i have 60% plus remaining
Droid X, Droid X2 and First Droid from Moto are the best phones i have tired

battery life is pretty amazing for me. after i solved the issues with the constant contact picture sync, my battery only loses 10% after being left alone overnight. (I pull out the charger when it is maxed before I go to sleep.)

How exactly did you fix that?
What is going on? I got this phone a week ago and have had absolutely no problems with it. Seems like everyone here is having issues with the X2. I would say I get close to 8 hours of life with heavy use, I drove 2 hours while listening to Pandora for an hour and the FM Radio for an hour. I still had 75% afterward, and my phone was losing 3G constantly since I was driving through valleys and mountains..
Only thing that is bothering, which ahs nothing to do with the phone, is Gameloft's laziness and lack of care for the customer. None of their games work on my X2 or my Transformer...
After reading through so many threads about owners having issues with the battery life, I thought I'd start a happy thread!
I've had my SGS2 for almost two weeks now and I've always been happy with the battery life because it seemed to last a while.
I'm not up to the stage where i can just leave the phone alone (because I always want to play with it!), but I did an experiment 3 nights in a row to see how much power the phone drains in standby mode.
Each night, I'd charge my phone up to 100% and take it off the charger and then wake up to see how much power is remaining.
I left all the settings as-is and DID NOT turn anything off (eg 3G, etc).
The first night, I didnt touch my phone from 11pm and woke up at 7am to see that there was 97% battery left.
The second night, I left the phone alone at 11:30pm and woke up at 8am with 96%.
The third night, I slept at midnight and woke up at 8am to have 97% left.
If I average it out, it means that the phone on standby drains a lot less than 1% per hour. At that rate, the bettary seems like it can go with minimal use for at least two or three days. But it's something that I haven't been able to test just yet because I'm constantly surfing the net, testing out apps, etc during the day.
Admittedly, I don't have all that much installed on the phone that could possibly drain battery:

I'm not sure how big a role the network plays in these stats because I'm based in the centre of a major city.
As much as I hate the Vodafone bloatware, I've been reluctant to flash other firmwares like I did on my previous HTC Aria/HTCHD2/HTCDiamond because this one works so well with the battery.
3% battery over night ?. I get under 10%, with all off what can be off, with no funky widgets, no data, no wifi, no nothing. Still phone wakes up in the night for unkown reason and 80% of battery is taken by mysterious Android OS process.
I had Optus bloatware and I kept it for a week or two. I wasn't unhappy with the battery life but wanted to customise it and get root.
After flashing Lite'ning it was obvious how much less battery drain there was. I have since moved to Cognition and I am very happy with how it's going. I charge nightly, but I've never had the battery drop below 50%, and I do use the phone quite a lot. I wouldn't say I'm a heavy user (it's all so subjective) but I would have to be at least medium if not more.
I also love the Black Theme by Nitrozk and Pele, which is why I moved from Lite'ning to Cognition to begin with.

That is a problem with the 2.3.3 firmware mate. Best switch to 2.3.4 ASAP!
To answer your question, yes, I'm hugely impressed by the battery life.
Here's my latest and I'm still at 15%. I'm bone stock on KF3 with all the syncs set to every three hours and using Exchange push.
People blame everything (Wi-Fi Sharing, AOS) for their issues except what they do to their individual phone. Network signal strength plays a big role so does the individual router used for Wi-Fi access. But outside of that there's no other explanation other than individual configuration when identical phone's from the factory get such different results.
I don't participate in battery threads because they're pointless. Dozens of different people using the phone differently with different apps and settings on different carriers all talk in circles when there's no common basis for a legitimate discussion.
I'd call 3% overnight something impressive.
I'll try it out tonight.
I'm running 2.3.3 (No updates avaliable here in Brazil) and i'm not about to root it now. I'm getting a generic 7" tablet to mess around and learn how to do it properly.
So i'll be running minimalistic UI, Snowstorm, Battery Monitor Widget Pro on the desktop, with 2 screens.
HSPA+, bluetooth and wifi disabled.
Let's see how it turns out tomorow morning.
One thing i wanted was to flash in Samsung's oficial fw for Brazil, mine's a carrier customized one, and that's sort of pissing me off since i wanted to uninstall 75% of the garbage Claro has installed here.

I agree with you BarryH... having put the great battery stats in the first post, I wouldn't expect anywhere near that sort of level had I been playing with the phone or I had a thousand apps that run constantly in the background.
Having said that, it seems that there are the people who do have legitimate problems and then there are the people who simply have unrealistic expections of the battery in such a powerful phone. Kinda like buying a big truck expecting it to run on the same amount of fuel as a little car.

Let me know how you go Unreal... I saw on a thread a couple of weeks ago (not sure exactly which one now because there's so many of these "bad battery" threads) that someone had said that their phone lasted more than three days with minimal use.. and noone believed him! lol
How strange, I was about to make a similar thread. I had just gotten 3 and a half days out of my battery earlier tonight, no connection to charger since friday night. Minimal use of course, few phone calls and general tinkering, but still impressed with the standby. It was at 1% battery left so time to charge her up again. I charged my phone till the 100% alert came up, then charged it for another 45 minutes as I heard it stops it dropping immediately to 95% as some others have experienced. I've experienced similar too.
So after unplugging it, I pressed the power button to turn the screen off and haven't touched the phone till just now, about 6 and a half hours later. I pressed the power button and battery widget shows me 98% on the battery. If i was to leave the phone completely in standby and not use it, at about 1% drain per 3 and a quarter hours, that's about 13 and a half days standby!
I'm on 2.3.3 btw.
2-3% overnight drain is along the lines of what I get with KE2 and KF3. Data off, 2G. I get about 20-30% of drain a day, 30 mins usage, 30 mins talk.
I get great battery life on mine, although I have not made a valid experiment using quatitative data
Hopefully, this will be the NEW TREND for all the Android Gingerbread dual core phones.

We have one guy who went five days supposedly. The majority of posts in that thread are just like ours, a combination of moaning and pleased. It all comes down to how the phone is used and what's loaded on it.

Im very happy with battery life. Froze a couple of apps and I was good to go.
First phone I've had that didn't need to.be flashed on a daily basis.
I think anyone that's needs more than a day from a single charge needs a blackberry or a home to charge daily.

I have owned a lot of androids and my sgs2 has the best battery life.
I guess you think it's ok, probably because coming from another android phone, it is.
For me is a pain, every half day have to think about charging, my whole usage of this phone although brilliant, has been taken over by thoughts of how I'm going to next get it charged aposed to what I want to do with my phone.
Something I didn't expect was just how much this phone discharges whilst playing music with the screen off.

I have had this phone since pretty much near release date. I have been and still am very impressed,by the battery life.
I'm currently on KG1 2.3.4, but since before this past Saturday I was always on 2.3.3 (KE2). Even on 2.3.3 with the AOS bug I was still very happy with battery life.
Now with KG2 out, I'm sure ill be even way more impressed.
I love this phone, and I have been a religous iphone user previously too!

I must agree, this is my 3rd Android phone (out of a total of 37 phones since 1990) and it's by far the best battery of any smart phone.
My best battery usage is 3 days 13 hours with 25% battery left. That was with wifi on all the time, over an hour of screen time (I was working at home, so no need to play with the phone) and over an hour of phone calls. I'm sure it would have reached 5 days. BTW, I'm running 5 pages of widgets, firefiles wallpaper and GMail is updating all the time.
During the 3 days time I switched off 3G as this is the biggest battery drainer I have seen. I live in a 40 floor tower which is made of thick concrete and the 3G signal in my home office is terrible, the phone is constantly hunting for 3G. When I'm at home, I don't need 3G as I'm using Wifi.
When do you guys think the RAZR will see any release of Cyanogenmod? I need to know if I should get this phone over the Nexus or not, and I think that right now, that's a big deciding factor.

Wrong section, but if you want ICS you had better get a Nexus. This thing doesn't even have a proper recovery yet and we won't even begin to see real ICS ports until the Nexus is released.
Reason being is that even though ICS source was released, developers are still trying to rig 4.0 to work with Gingerbread kernels. Until the Nexus is released and phones begin to get OTA 4.0 updates with working and updated kernels, you will not see a true ICS port.
Obviously that is all going to take some time, at best probably a few weeks to a month after the Nexus drops.
I honestly do enjoy my Razr, but no removable battery, horrible battery life and the lack of ROM options are all clear reasons to swap it for the Nexus when that drops

How on earth can you guys be experiencing that great battery life??? I went to a wedding today and the phone lasted from 11am until 7pm (8 hours) and I used the camera/camcorder for 30 minutes total. I had GPS on but Wi-Fi off the entire time. I run stock unrooted software. The battery isn't awful... but not being able to promptly pop in another battery is a FAIL of epic proportion on behalf of Motorola.

We could as easily call you a liar. Each persons use is different.just because it does not match your results does not make someone a liar.
In my opinion, this Razr battery shows a great deal of how "battery conditioning" can improve your experience.
well my Razr battery works horribly in first 3 days and then it started getting much much better.
Now, a week and 2 days after I bought the phone, I am experience the similar battery life as someone there said.
1% drop per hour on standby in the night. easily got 24 hours of usage even with
10 hours in office on LTE (but not active use because I need to work), generally 1. 30-40 mins call
2. check email/facebook once per hour for 10 hours day time on LTE
3. check email/facebook play with the phone once per half hour at home on wifi with 4G data disabled
4. taking 10+ pictures
5. read kindle book 20 mins each on return trips between home/work
6. watched Google Videos REnted movie for 1 hour
pretty much above is the normal usage for me for a PHONE. (slight more than moderate)
quite impressed by such battery life.

Not lies. I get about ~15hrs with moderate/average use, 7-8 with very heavy and 18-20 with light. The first 3 days it did poorly on battery, but fully letting it cycle down and charge back up so it's conditioned has let it hit its stride. LTE is on and in use all the time and I have 2 Exchange/push accounts running. Only things I keep off unless using is wifi, standalone GPS and bluetooth, why leave that on if I'm not using it? And I keep the brightness fairly low but not 0 and that dim option unchecked. Don't use smart actions. ~75 apps installed with the usual FB stuff syncing.
The Razr is easily the best VZ LTE phone on battery, though I hear the Rezound is ok too. Overall it's been a hair less than my X. Not sure why some of you have such abysmal life, something tells me you're in a fringe area with a lot of network flipping without realizing it, or have something installed/not configured right.
The LTE Nexus is worse. Hearing high single digit hours with only moderate usage from someone testing it. Sure you can swap, but if it can't make it on average use for < 12hrs, it's not good IMO.

Your phone is defying physics if its LiIon battery can be "conditioned". Hint: there's no conditioning or break-in with these batteries.

Maybe not in a physical sense. But I certainly noticed it too. Fully charging and depleting does help the batterystats.bin

He's right. Your phone gets better battery life the first couple days you use it not because the battery is being "conditioned" but because the phone's software learns how to utilize the battery better -- in laymans terms.

I nearly posted a response to all this *****ing about battery life to say that if we could just get CM7 onto this phone, it'd help quite a bit with battery life (even more so if we could manage a custom kernel, too). Then I realized that's how this thread was started. Where did we go wrong?
Oh why should someone lie?? LOL, RAZR is the best smartphone I have ever come across on battery life...

Since this thread has mutated into a battery thread I'll chime in as well. I have been getting amazing battery life the past few days. As stated above, the first few days are a gong show but it really does settle out and get much stronger. I'm not going to get into what my use is etc but I will say I am coming home with 20-30% more than what I was with my Desire Z, Sensation and Galaxy S after the same full day at work.
+1 for Motorola phones running CM. Ive had my Photon since August and just flashed CM7 build from the Photon forums and its wonderful. Just keep in mind that Motorola uses some of the BEST hardware. Their products hold strong through the years of abuse. I stuck it out with blur until CM7 was ported over to the photon. If i was on the razr, id do the same thing. Good things come in time. Phones work the best having good radios in them, without a good radio its just a good looking paper weight. Stick with Motorola and you will be impressed.

I turned 4G off and left WiFi on and pretty much did not leave the house for 3 days straight, which likely reduced power usage by the radio. I've had the phone since November, fully stock.
FYI, the battery widget is called Battery Indicator Pro.

i find battery life on my GSM unit to be wonderful... so long as i have excellent reception from a tower. as soon as i'm in a fringe area, BYE BYE BATTERY!
Yeah it's kind of pointless to get on here talking about how good battery life CAN be. Yes it can be extremely incredible if you turn off 4G, turn off wifi, turn off background data, don't use your phone, don't leave your house. I mean come on man seriously??? What people are complaining about is everyday regular use. I had 4G on all day, wifi only turned on when I'm home, talked on the phone for about 1 hour all together, sent and received about 50 texts, checked email, checked facebook, hop on Google+, check twitter and a little bit of Temple Run and Draw Something. Got just a little over 8 hours on battery. The OP's stats are NOT realistic so do not buy this phone thinking that you will get the same battery life.
Yeah it's really about screen on time and usage. I don't count it as great battery life if the phone is in airplane mode or barely being used.
My Razr Maxx gives me enough last me from the time I wake up in the morning to the time I go to sleep with no problem, so that's good enough for me.
I definitely don't think it will give us how they advertise on the commercial but it's definitely better than any other android phone I've had.
I think it's more how the android os is consuming the battery over how large the battery is. My friend as the iPhone 4 and gets a day and a half with medium to heavy usage. I don't think the battery is that big in iPhone, never had one.

I got about 20 to 36 hours of battery life for typical daily usage. But, lately it getting worse. The "culprit" is, .... Angry Birds SPACE.
2G + WiFi is the way to go for better battery life.

With g3 on apro 10h till 15 hours normale use. G2, speedsettings and freezing some stuff apro 36 till 42 hours max. Thats oke with me. Lets wait how ICS goes.

I currently own a Rezound and I love the phone. However, I am about to take a career as a police officer and I need a phone that allows me to not worry about battery life while on my shift. The Rezound has OK battery life if I don't use it often, but even with the extended battery it might not be enough. I've heard great things about the Razr Maxx and it's astonishing battery life, and I'd consider trading the 720p display and unlock/S-off for something that's still fun to tinker with and gets amazing battery life. I need to make sure I have a rock solid, long lasting phone on the job.
Any opinions?
I love the phone. Stock gb I got over 2 days of battery life, but as always, it depends on ur usage habits and how u modify it if u choose to do so. On the ics leak .79 the battery doesn't seem to last as long but then again its a leak and a early one, I'm sure the official release will be just as good as the gb battery life. The later leaks r probably better too but I want to be able to return to stock for the official release when it comes (hopefully by the end of the month but I'm not holding my breath)

I can say I get 6 hrs screen on time w the latest 211 leak. On 4glte. The battery is extremely impressive and more than what I really expected it to be.
I came from the rezound and was hesitant at first. I even was considering trading my maxx for a gnex. But the battery life and soon to come ics are keeping me here. The resolution took some getting used to. But overall battery life is more important to me.

I'm new to the RAZR Maxx. I've just come over from an LG Revolution about a week ago but let me tell you, from the perspective of performance, feel, and battery life, this phone is light years ahead of where I'm coming from. Battery aside, I think I've tinkered with the phone enough already to say it's absolutely solid.
WRT the battery directly, because I'm so used to having to plug my Revo in no matter where I'm at (the office, the car, the train station, the airport gate, home, etc.) I still have micro USB chargers everywhere I've been intentionally stressing the Maxx's battery to get a feel for just how much better it is. Mind you the Revo, as bad as its battery life was out of the box, when coupled with bad cellular at my office, would last me 6-8 hours off a charger with low use and sync toggled off.
This is where the Maxx has truly astonished me. Same surroundings but now I'll leave GPS, sync, wifi on (even though there's no wifi at the office), and use a 30 minute email update interval, etc. Don't dismiss the 'new phone use factor' - the constant tweaking settings and unusually high phone use to learn the new UI . . . and the battery is still is over 60 percent by the end of my work day.
That remaining 60 percent is more than enough to carry me through until morning and beyond. Bottom line, I'm figuring where before I was getting 6-8 hours, under my self imposed more demanding data conditions with the Maxx I'm getting well in excess of 24.
I chose the Maxx instead of pre-ordering the SIII because of battery life and I am not at all disappointed. In fact, I'm still being pleasantly surprised. Recommended.
Forgot to add I'm at 2 days 3 hours with 30% battery life left.

Wow, thanks for the quick replies! Seems like the battery life is where it's at, and that's what I'm going for first and foremost.
How about sunlight visibility? I had a Bionic and while the screen was horrible, it did very well in the sunlight. My Rezound however... not so much.
I just switched to this phone from the evo 4g (sprint), and I believe the evo, and the rezound have the same size battery, and are advertised as the same battery life. I too needed a device that got better battery life, and let me just say... WOW The maxx gets unreal battery life... Easily 2 days, with not quite heavy use, but pretty close. 720 display... Meh... when ur looking at a 4.3" screen, does it really matter if its hd? I doubt it... And I def prefer easily triple the battery life!
Maxx is awesome!!! Unplugged from charger at 6:15 am this morning, its now 12:04 and have 90 percent. You won't regret the Maxx.

Unless you just want a new phone, just grab a car charger since you'll probably be in your unit most of the day.
Every time I'm on duty, I keep my car charger with me.
Just remember to secure your phone when your running emergency. A Eazr flying around the vehicle while clearing intersections is annoying, and dangerous.

I bought one when they released. Now we have 3. Battery is where its at. Screen visibility is pretty good if you max it out. I have it set to automatically max brightness when I put it in the car dock. Max brightness will definitely hit you're battery tho. But everything maxed out, it will still get you through am 8 hour day, streaming internet radio over Bluetooth. Cut back to 3g,, and it will go for many more hours. No telling how stable ICS will be, but GB is just locked down reliable.call clarity is the best, period. No regrets on this purchase.
Just got my razr maxx 2 days ago. Came from a thunderbolt. This thing lasts forever and is super fast and smooth.

I too came from a Thunderbolt, had my Razr Maxx for about a week or so now. I switched because of data connection issues and the terrible battery life I've had with the thunderbolt.
This thing is amazing... But I don't like it 3 things a bout it.
1. The battery meter in the settings page only shows battery percentage in tens intervals, (90%, 80%, 70%....)
2. It takes a lot longer to charge the thing, (I guess you can expect that from the bigger battery) so when I heavily use it on certain days I'm left with it charging for like an hour or two and the battery percent has only gone up a small amount (granted I'll have wifi tether on while charging)
3. I switched from the thunderbolt because of data connectivity always flaking out. and The Maxx seems to have this issue as well. Although I don't believe it is as bad as the Thunderbolt.... But I've only had the Maxx for less than 2 weeks.
Overall I like the phone and hope my connectivity issue will work its' self out soon.

Interesting... the Rezound has been the best phone I've owned as far as data connectivity. It's never flaked out of 4G or 3G and left me hanging. I had that problem with the Charge and Bionic. Even my DX was rock solid with 3G signal.

1 use battery indicator and in the menu select 1% hack.
2 mine goes all day w over 6 hours screen on time on 4g. Just charge while you sleep. That's almost an entire workday worth of screen on usage.
3 ics 211 has completely fixed all data connectivity issues I ever experienced w gbread.

And I've really liked HTC devices, (up until every phone they put out looked pretty much the same) But both of the models I've had (G1 & Thunderbolt) were troubled with connectivity issues. And I had also had both of the replaced and the issues were still crept up again. Maybe I just screw up all the phones I tinker with.....lol, I don't know

The battery indicator app I think you're talking about puts up a second battery icon in the task bar, and I'm not a big fan of that. I like my screen to look clean and not redundant. speaking of that I kinda chuckle when I see screen shots of phones and the peeps have the little clock in the corner of their screen plus a fancy widget clock in the middle of their screen. not putting them down... I just think the redundancy is funny.
And I'm trying to hold off on rooting and just going to give the ICS update a try since it suppose to be on its way out by the end of June (we'll see).
but just in case can you link the 211 ICS you are talking about I looked in the dev section and only saw something for safestrap.

I was the 1st of my friends and family to get the RAZR MAXX. I bought it on release day. I have 8 friends who upgraded to the RAZR MAXX, and they are all very happy with it. I bought one for my father for Father's Day, and he loves the thing.
I tried the GNex and the Rezound, both fine phones. But at the end of the day my RAZR MAXX won out. I work 12 hour days, and need to have a phone that can keep up with my busy day without having to "dumb down" the phone. After working 12 hours, I typically have >50% of battery life left. That's with moderate use. With light to moderate use, I've gone 2 full days between charges. I never have to use the "smart actions" either. Also I believe the RAZR MAXX has more function than what you get from the Rezound or GNex. Motocast is a brilliant idea. It allows you to access your computer and it's files from your phone. Including pictures, music, video, and documents. I hope this helps you.
