2WAY CALL RECORDER - MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE - NFC - AC!D SOUND - GAPPS - FLASH PLAYER - FACE UNLOCK
AROMA OPTIONS: GPS - APPS - MODEM+RIL - LAUNCHER - SMS
THEMED by CAROTIX
This rom was updated in two different versions:
1st is pure CM10 base source sometimes compiled by me, sometimes using Codeworkx build as a base
the 2nd base by AOKP official manteiners Pier & Baje11
so all credits and thanks to these guys + Cyanogen / Teamhacksung / Aokp Team in the first place !
01 oct 2012 -> From now on I always use stock compiled aokp source
The task is to give you a full costumizable fast and stable rom. Little bugs are expected e.g. TV-OUT but we must wait for samsung sources to fix it.
14 oct 2012 -> This rom is now included into a new big project started! AOKP + PARANOID + a lot more! 5 Device supported
-> Git Members <-
Next update will be AOKP + PARANOID + a lot more stuff (5 devices supported!)....

How to easily provide a logcat:
The best way is through adb shell...it's very easy, nothing difficult.
Assuming you are using windows...
You need to install JDK and SDK first.
Install SDK in your desktop
Rename the folder "android-sdk" to only "sdk"
Move the new sdk folder to c:\
Through your sdk folder choose SDK Manager in order to install the platform-tools (choose only platform-tools, nothing else needed for now)
you are ready to logcat!
Now open a command promt (In the Start Menu search box area type cmd and press Enter)
connect via USB your phone
cd .. to move to c:\
now cd to your c:\sdk\platform-tools folder and type
Code:
adb logcat
better use is through options:
Code:
adb logcat *:E -v long
*:E shows only errors in output
-v long its for a more easy to read output
you can send you log to a text file using
Code:
adb logcat *:E -v long > "drag your .txt file in your promt windows"
CTRL+C to block logcat output
It's important to start the "log to text" immediately before reproducing your issue and to stop with CTRL+C a few seconds after
I mean...cd to your platform tool and type
Code:
adb logcat *:E -v long > "drag your .txt file here"
Assuming you have a force close using callrecorder.apk
hit Enter and immediately start callrecorder apk (or push the button inside the application that broke things), 2/3 second after CTRL+C
To dig more into options, or if something it's not clear enough for you...->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378491
For a more complete guide on how to use Adb use this link and thanks Voku1987!!
Special sdwatcher binary (since v. 1.7)
Quoting FranciscoFranco :
This binary is special *buzzwords incoming* and will get rid of the fuse mounting and get rid of the /data/media symlink which causes excessive Media Scanning load - basically just mounts the internal sdcard as ext4. Battery life gets a nice boost using this binary

Maximum overdrive (since v. 1.6.2)
Apps in RAM limit increased to 70 (default 15)
Autokiller every 24 h (default 30 min)
Quoting Dorimanx,
"now i can multitask 50 apps in ram!
no more home launcher restart and no more favorites apps closed and have to be open again! no lag on call IN/out!"

Quoting Zeppelinrox, the mod works "without breaking the lowmemorykiller and therefore there wouldn't be a need for an external task killer"

I'm uploading a flashable revert to stock theme and an updated Aroma - modem & kernel selector with a cleaner script to avoid conflicts with previous kernels installations. After that I can rest for today

thanks great rom

I'm not looking to control the volume. The volume rocker controls allow you to advance the currently playing music track while the lockscreen is active.
CM10 has the feature, as does RootBOX

RootBox F.A.Q
Q: I changed my DPI and my phone crashes when I make or get calls
A: Flash DPI Phone Fix Posted on OP
Q: Where is my external SD Card?
A: /emmc = External Storage
/sdcard = Internal Storage
Q: I have duplicate media files.. What do I do?
A:You can unmount SD Card and mount it back or Clear Data for Media Storage and reboot.
Q: How can I disable fast dormancy?
A:Use this app
Q: Where are the Samsung stuff in this rom?
A:I will never bloat this rom with Samsung. Here's a thread you could check out.
Q: I don't like RootBox toggles, can I get the stock ones?
A:I already included stock ones in Aroma.
Q: What's the different between this Rom and all the other AOKP out there?
A:It's neat, clean, MANY cherry picked CM fixes and features, very hassle free and of course: my presence
Q: Where are the Google apps (GAPPS)?
A:It's included in Aroma
Q: What it Aroma?
A:It's a unique installation process that allows you to choose the things you want to install before flashing. You can keep the rom pure and bloat free or add as much as you want. The user decides everything!
Q: What modem comes with this rom?
A:This rom does not come with any modem and does not modify your current one, because that's how it should be! Modems are region specific and it is really unwise to include modems with a ROM.
Q: I just flashed the ROM but I get no data connection?
A:Reboot once and you should be fine
Q: I flashed Default GAPPS but I don't see Gmail, Youtube or Maps?!
A:Latest GAPPS package (20120429) does not include these. You have to get them in Play Store.
Q: There's no FM radio in here?!
A:Yup.. Get one from the Play Store. AOKP doesn't support FM radio.
Q: What's the best kernel?
A: Best Kernels
Q: I keep having wlan_rx_wakelock. How can I fix this?

[ROM][4.3.1][Jelly Bean] Carbon ROM [Unofficial][2014-05-0x], a ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Ace II
Contributors: judas1977, Rox, jereksel, criminal, Zwliew, cocafe and others
ROM OS Version: 4.3.1
ROM Kernel: Linux 3.0.x
ROM Firmware Required: Any JB ROM for Galaxy Ace II
Based On: AOSP(?)
Recovery: CWM
Version Information
Status: Stable Beta
Last update: 2014-05-05
----------
Carbon JB [4.3.1.] Unnofficial for the Galaxy Ace II (Codina)
I take no resposibility if something will go... not as it supposed to. The responsibility for potential damages caused by installing or using of this ROM is Yours, and Yours only!
My ROM is released „as is” – you don’t like it – don’t use it.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Important!
Any Galaxy Ace II ROM based on Android 4.2.x+ has to be installed over Android 4.1.x+ (stock ROM, CM-like customs). You will need custom recovery (temporary one is good enough)
It is strongly recommended to make a backup before installing of ANY ROM!

As it could be my final version of Carbon ROM (and maybe my last Codina’s public ROM ever), I want to add few words…
I’m pretty sure that @Rox – our main device sources maintainer - deserves for a special thanks. I watched your progress – starting from “simple” theming You became our local hero, learning fast. I believe that the knowledge You achieved playing with our Samsung Galaxy Ace II will help you to find “a job from your dreams” in your mature life (do not hurry). I’m aware that without Your work I just couldn’t “get” Carbon (or Chameleon OS, or whatever) in current state. So once again – thanks for Your contribution!!!
To do list:
· Fixing Carbon Fibers FC’s after turning phone on
· Additional polish translation (other languages, maybe?**)
· Adding mobile data indicator arrows
** If you have free time and want to add your language translation to system apps – feel free to contact me.
Installation:
1. Put ROM’s Zip file Zip z ROMem (and other zip files - optionally) on SD Card
2. Enter Recovery Mode

a) Wipe Data/Factory Reset
b) In „mounts and storage” choose: Format System
c) (just in case) Mount system partition (it supposed to be „unmount” visible)

a) Install ROM from SD card
5. (optional) installing Gapps and other add-ons

b) Choose install zip and install chosen add-on
c) repeat a and b points for any other add-on
6. Reboot Phone (first BOOT could take a while)

Mine too. I have had Cm10.2 but it crashed and after that Android 4.3 hasn't worked again (up to now, maybe I try to get it working again, or I am just going to buy the Nexus 5 ).
k, will install this ROM after bored with CM10.2
Decided to give this a spin just out of curiosity and to see what it's like. (never used Carbon ROM before)
I'm curious whether the low incall patch for CM10.2 would also work with this... i'm not sure of the differences in the phone APK if any..

Thanks for your fast response..
I'll try to flash this ROM from XXMG2 Greece (Cosmote) JB 4.1.2 Base ROM.
I found Ringtone Delay bug on any other 4.3.1 Custom ROM. when I receive a notification, i see the notification icon on statusbar, but the ringtone is delaying (2 or 3 seconds after the notification icon shows on statusbar, sometimes I only hear half notification ringtones), if I find any bug on this ROM, I'll report it to you
and one more question..
I see MIUI Style on this ROM, can I use MIUI themes for this ROM (*.mtz file)?
great work, thanks!!
this rom have transition animation like rootbox and listview animation?

F.A.Q:
Q) Icons and Fonts are too small. How can i change the LCD Density and whats the Stock LCD Density?
A) Default is 240, to change it either modify build.prop or use textdroider_dpi from Playstore https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texdroider.texdroider_dpi
Q) Dialer and Contact search is very Laggy
A) Disable Dial Pad touch tones from Settings > Sound. Also do not install Google Now launcher.
Q) Few features from SlimJB are missing
A) All features from 4.3 will come back from time to time , for now you can use Xposed in combination with Gravity Box.
Gravity Box : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554049 / Xposed : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
Q) Is ART stable to use ?
A)Test it for yourself , it is advisable to switch to ART after fresh install before installing any other Apps to reduce first boot time.
Q) Can i restore my apps with Titanium Backup coming from another Rom ?
A) Yes you can , remember " Don't restore System Apps "
Q ) There is no Theme Chooser in the Rom ?
A ) For now slim uses no Theme Chooser, you can use HK ThemeManager, it does the same and more.
Q ) I have problems with Memory Management (keyboard FCs etc) ?
A ) Install Performance Control App, set minfree values to Very Light. You can play around with these values as they suit you (WARNING: Be careful and always study what you are doing). But I am using these values and they work fine for me.
Q ) Back Button does not work sometimes ?
A ) This is a known bug that affects my Nexus 7 too, so it is independent of ROM or Device. Solution is to Lock and then Unlock the device. After that back button starts working.
Q ) Howto Enable Heads up Notifications ?
A ) Either enable it with a longlick in the notification drawer on the notification, or in Settings->app->App info via a check box. As soon it is enabled for this app every notification from this app will show as heads up, as long as it is not an ongoing notification.
Q ) Howto use OTA updates OR OTA updates not working?
A ) Make Sure u have the build from http://builds.hubdroid.com/ installed
1. Check for updates in Settings > About phone > System updates
2. When a new build is released, It will automatically download and verify the new build
3. If it does not work check that no firewall blocking OpenDelta. Disable any firewall
4. Make sure you have space free on your internal sdcard (around 800MB to 1GB)
5. Force Stop and Clear data of OpenDelta app and retry
6. New build will be downloaded and when prompted press Flash Now

Hmm...it should be transparent AFAIK. Check build.prop for this line-
Code:
ro.config.low_ram
and let me know what does it says. And if slimroms do have opaque systemui, suggest them here- https://plus.google.com/communities/104509876514579429216 or talk to them on their IRC channel in freenode- #slimusers :good:

[L5/L7][ROM][OFFICIAL][TouchWiz] TouchMod Nature UX [RC-10/01/15][OPTIMA-TEAM]

Hey all!
So this is Optima Team's take at Samsung's home baked OS, along with our additions!
Unlike Samsung's TouchWiz Nature UX, our TouchMod was created with the objective of speed and performance so that it wouldn't lag our outdated devices
We have taken Samsung Galaxy S3 4.1.2 as our base for TouchMod
As usual @F4uzan is the man behind L7 and me behind L5.
Great work has been done by him, so please thank him for this release!
ROM comes with following Samsung Apps:

Waiting for L5 now use to 4.1.2.(v20d)+root+cwm.thanks skyinfo.
so far the rom is pretty good, i just noticed that the ui crashes if i select flashlight there (dont know if the image helps) :
You are right, its really good on our aging device.
Well keep up the good work.
And by the way, stock kernel is better than f4kernel. F4kernel is little bit laggy.
BTW, somebody tried phenomkernel on this ROM?
Still waiting for L5

What kernel? Stock or the f4kernel that you already flashed?
BTW, phenomkernel is working good on this ROM. You can flash it over and replace the installed kernel.
