You have to try one of the custom roms for the S3 in the Android Development session or from this tread..

OK, I'll try a bit later to install custom miui

Hi man,to be a chinese,I never use MIUI.They steal CM kernels for their ROM without any credit. But if you want to try MIUI,make sure you have an international edition GT-I9300,MIUI only support this device

Of course I have international because other variants won't work in Russia and in information about phone I have GT-I9300

oh,so,maybe your rom has problems, you can try the latest version of MIUI,the 2.8.17,which is updated at 17 aug 2012.It is easy to get from MIUI official website.By the way,I am surpurised that all variants of i9300 can be used in chinawe have i9300,i9308,i939,i9300LTE,japanese version and american version....

But MIUI is based on CM, so the bugs of cm kernel also exist at MIUI.If you really love MIUI,xiaomi phone will be the best one for using it.It is the only one whose rom totally designed by MIUI developers, both kernel and UI

Why dont you try ours?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1759340
Its based from miuiandroid.com build but tweaked and yes comes with Siyah Kernel... It also has Kitchen preloaded...
(Just to forget to read and carefully fully instruction on the OP before flashing)

I didnt have good experiences with custom ROM/Kernel thingies... I had SGY earlier and I tried many custom ROMs. All people are lauding in the threads but on my phone the ROMs were buggy and laggy. Now I have an XPU and installed a famous custom rooted overclocked kernel. The phone lagged too much, too often, so much so that I have to reflash the clean plain stock firmware package altogether..
for XPU I'd suggest 6.1.1.C.1.0. Though the camera focus is slow but the overall performance is marvelous. AnTuTu scores 7287. On the first ICS update, it was somehwat like 5500....
You won't get an answer here as the work for ROMs are done on the developer's free time. It's simply rude to say that Rom X is better than Rom Y.
Try them all out and see for yourself.
Thanks guys good point also the devs put there time into ROMs and that would be rude

Its all down to personal opinion too.
I'd say go for C ftf, root it. Delete all the pointless stuff including the t mobile boot and shutdown animations and add cwm

First Step Is To Install CWM.
Then Choose A Rom From Dev. Section And Flash It.
All Roms Except Roms Based On CM Don't need GAPPS.(They Are Pre-installed )

[Q]. How to port stock roms?

Hmm.... I ported some roms to my device[based cm10, Take thacy,(KM-S220)], but I don't know how to port stock roms. I heard that porting stock rom is different from porting cm10 based custom roms.
Anyone can teach me how to port stockroms?
I include my phone's specifications
It updated ICS last year. Amd it's ICS kernel source was opened recently.

It's an awful ROM mate! I've seen more users having problems with it than any other ROM! I take it you haven't even bothered to look in the development section at some of the great ROMs we have, JellyBlast doesn't even come close with it's low quality theming, bloatware, fake JB build.prop edit, IMEI issues, performance issues... I could go on but I think you get my drift!

Biggest problem isn't porting the rom actually. Biggest problem is the rom is based on aroma, and aroma roms have a whole other updater-script, which must be re-written with the changes. And another problem is that cooperve's CyanogenMod requires a special updater-script so that it can boot. So, it is extremely hard to rewrite the updater-script incorporating the changes made by bieltv.3 in it.
Can rom be ported without aroma installer?
