Want to help prevent hardbricks from rom manager on galaxy ace? - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

I have successfully bypassed hardbricking from rom manager on my galaxy gio and made a guide about how to do that. You are probably thinking right now "but wait, ace and gio are different phones! This can't work!" Well, wrong. This has also been confirmed to work on galaxy fit. So i need someone to test rom manager my safe way (which is 99.9% safe). My tester needs the following:
A Samsung galaxy ace, rooted and vem installed.
Have the ability to take screenshots.
Want to prevent hardbricks from incorrectly using rom manager
Please pm me if you're interested. I will give you instructions from there.

No, you make rom manager use your current recovery and configures to use that one.

Stop posting stuff like this. Rom Manager isn't 100% compatible with ace yet. It will brick any ace on stock firmware (you know, the firmware EVERY NEW USER STARTS WITH WILL BRICK WITH ROM MANAGER)
Rom Manager requires a custom kernel and cwm5 installed to have a chance of working brick free.

TThe rom manager included in CM7 official does not brick.
But tge one which I dl from play store bricked my phone.
I guess you need CWM compatible kernel before using.

Kinda Noobie here
hello,
2 month back i brought unlocked i777 from ebay. It got rooted and unlocked with Android version 2.3.4, baseband i777UCKH7 and kernel version 2.6.35.7.
It got super user app (so i think its rooted). But the CMW is not installed. i checked in recovery mode (it show some android recovery).
So now i m thinkin of installing the latest AOKP ROM (with siyah kernel) but not sure wat to flash first.
should i root again first (root + CWM) then install AOKP. then change the kernel.
or root then kernel then AOKP ?
also i m confuse which root method should i use for installing CWM in gingerbread .

Install kernel with cwm.
Boot to recovery and install aokp rom
Done
Every rom install contains a kernel that works with the rom. Doesn't matter what you had before.

This is my first post and i was wondering if people could answer some questions i have.
First off heres my phones specs
Samsung galaxy s2
Model number
GT-I9100
Android version
4.0.3
Baseband version

Kernel version
3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL223505

Build number

I've rooted my phone using rachmat3 method and thats how far i've got because only just got phone as a gift and im scared to flash a new rom incase i brick my phone.
Is it safe to use the cwm.zip to flash a rom that i used from rachmat3 root method or do i need a updated version of cwm?
Can someone recommend a fully working paranoid android rom that i can use for daily use?
Which kernel would be best to use with paranoid android rom?
Should i flash a kernel before i flash a rom?
If i install paranoid android rom would i then have a permanant cwm on my device or would i still need to use my temporery cwm.zip?
What is the chances of me bricking my phone?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Flash what ever rom u want till its for GT-I9100
No need to worry
Just read the specific rom instructions carefully
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Yes mate now u can flash any Rom ....Just read the instruction before flashing
I would advise you to flash a safe kernel first before doing any wipe and flashing any roms. Siyah is a safe bet.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
1. Download ROM Manager and you'll be able to flash any ROMs you wish using that.
2. All the PA versions are working fine, so just browse through and choose for yourself.
3. Asking questions like that is against forum rules because they often lead to arguments. The best advice is just to download and flash different kernels and stick with which ever one you're happy with.
4. It really doesn't matter in which order you flash them. The result is still the same. I personally always flash the ROM first, but it doesn't make a difference.
5. If you use ROM Manager, as mentioned previously, even if you have to do a full wipe when flashing a different ROM, it doesn't matter because you can simply download it again anyway. Or just save it to your SD card.
6. The changes if bricking your phone are higher if you're worried about it. Just be sure to read all instructions given about installation and follow them perfectly and you'll be fine.
If after reading about flashing ROMs you are still worried, then you're better off waiting for a bit until you've done more research into what exactly is needed.

just follow the steps mentioned and follow some video (like on youtube) and it'll be easy!

Most ROM zips include kernels, so if somebody wants to stay with the same kernel, then it's necessary to flash custom kernel again.

You will need a pc if for example you flash a kernel and somethings not right. You cant get cwm, only download mode.
That happened to me when I flashed a siyah kernel.Phone was stuck and I couldnt boot into cwm.Only way to fix was boot to download mode and use odin/pc.

Some questions regarding root...

Hi all, (this is my first thread)
I wanted to ask a couple of questions about which I am confused...
I am currently running stock 4.1.1 on rooted international galaxy s3..
Q1. Is there anyway I can get 4.1.2 OTA Without unrooting?
Q2. I am not sure whether the country I bought my phone from has got the update yet... So is there anyway I can check that...
P.S I got my phone from dubai..

If you already have CWM recovery why not use CWM to flash a custom 4.1.2 rom thats based on Stock firmware (like Android Revolution HD)?
Thats just as easy, has more support, rooted and you'll have future updates faster as well.
I already downloaded omega v34 but didn't flash it because people have lot of issues with it.. Lag, random reboot etc. Stock rom will be more stable I guess..

Yeah, everytime you flash the stock image, you'll have to root the phone again... but so what?? I have my mobile sine 8 weeks and i think i flashed it 10times now, and lots of custom-rom installations, configuring the phone etc....
It's not a hard work, you just have to read carefully BEFORE you start rooting, modding or whatever. This forum is awesome and till now i really found an answer to my questions everytime without bothering the ither guys with a question that is already answered a thousand times just have to use the search... so, good luck and have fun with your rooted mobile. By the way, i recommend the Omega-ROM for galaxy S2 and S3, the guys are.doing a great job with their ROMs. If you own a S3 LTE (i9305) i recommend the Pandoriam ROM, works best for me

Lol you don't need to be rooted inorder to flash a stock ROM
1. Yes you can flash a JB firmware directly
Go to here and find your fitting firmware. You can check by going to setting>about phone
Do you know how to flash this stock rom with Odin?
*edit - you will be unrooted when you flash stock JB rom so you will have to root it again using any JB-rooting method
