Preface
Building android from source is not as hard as it sounds. I urge all enthusiasts to try to build their personal ROM on their own. Why copy a prebuilt binary when android gives you the chance to build it from sources?
Step1: Setup a build machine
Setup a real or VM machine using the info from here.
Step2: Checkout the code
Code:
repo init -u git://github.com/MiniCM/android.git -b ics
repo sync -j16
Step3: Build MiniCM
Code:
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch cm_shakira-eng
brunch cm_shakira-eng
Step4: Ready to flash!
Pickup the build from out/target/product/shakira/MiniCM9-xxx.zip
Step5: Contribute!
You got an idea on how to improve this rom? Try to implement it by looking at the code and seeing how similar things are already done.

Libaudio needs improvement. But current implementation supports all audio functions like FM Radio, Headset, etc.

This can be tuned I think.

Ok Repo syncing right now.

Just installed the build from yesterday, and it's really fast and smooth.
It seems it's even faster from the stable build.
Correct me if I am wrong.
Btw, is this based on the stable CM9 sources? EDIT: apparently
Thanks for this, and God bless you nAa!

You are amazing!

nobodyAtall thanks for all the work you do .. as soon as I have time I try it even if I wanted to try the CM10

I think is more effective if you let the problem with the solution under than simply removing it... because others can be having the same issue...

Hi, is there any change log for the latest nightly build on 29th. It would be better to know the changes before flashing the nightly. May be a noob question.

That bug will never be fixed by the cyanogen team, because it is only on the X8 and maybe X10 mini/mini pro, and since these phones aren't officially supported by the cyanogen team, they won't do anything with it. Only nAa can do something about that.

Just installed the 21st Sept nightly. This is really good ! Thanks nAa !
I know you said no support for nightlies, but I had a question about apps getting killed too often. I have more than 80 MB free, but I find that apps get killed within 20-30 seconds and take really long to open up after I exit(using Home button), use some other app and then come back to this one. Is there any setting that I can change so that it keeps apps like the launcher, phone & messaging in memory ?
Could you add that option if its not already there ? Because those are the apps that you tend to use a lot, and need to have quick access to always dont you think ?
I understand if you dont get time to answer these questions, but just putting it out there for anyone else who might know some tricks to make it work like that.
Oh wait. Actually, my RAM is really low. It sometimes goes down to 0 and then something gets freed up.
I was looking at internal storage before when i said 80 MB.
Damn, I guess I should look at what I can uninstall to free up some RAM.
I saw some improvements after setting SD card swap to 32 MB and enabling kernel samepage merging
Trying 128 MB swap now.

The mirror is fine from my end... Good speeds no problems. But what do I know.
Anyway, I didn't know ICS was still in active development after JB came out. Hope this will be good.
Thanks.

Nightlies for MiniCM10 will come after another official release of it. Some things have to be worked out, incorporated and stabilized first.
Then all can kang it as per the usual process ...

A nightly is kinda like a developer version, each version may have small tweaks and fixes, to improve performance and stability. A nightly is usually not for stable use, while the 'original MiniCM9' is a stable version

AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.

Flash for yourself and see. Don't spam each and every thread with same question. If you can't test so many ROMs then just stick with stock ROM and lock your bootloader.
------------
@XperiaMT27 I've checked the PM but I can't reply in detail atm. Just remove the no_assert and persist lines-
Code:
--no_assert=$(skip_assert) \
--persist=$(persist) \
from build/core/Makefile and build should be good.
Build hellkat just the same way as CM 11 Sorry I don't have time to tell in detail due to exams
And BTW if you want to take over beanstalk also you are more than welcome. Just let me know

Just tried lol
Installs OK I think no error but then does boot loop after staying on 1+ screen for a couple minutes and no boot in my test
But I'm not as experienced as others here..
I tried by installing it as additional ROM, not as primary
Normally when a ROM doesn't work with multirom, it gives an updater-script error, this one didn't.

There are no kernels that work with OmniRom. This doesn't use the CM CAF tree.
Link posted for today's version. Hopefully I can get software/hardware keys in tonight's build.
Nice to see OmniROM Lollipop release for Bacon!
I apologise for asking about features, the reason being that these are not listed in the first post but are present in other "kangs", so what about:
- root
- center clock
- OmniSwitch
Thanks a lot @lolzballs, will keep an eye on this thread!

Yes you are supposed to flash SuperSU. BUT you NEED to flash the 2.39 beta version.
Any other version will result in the message that the binary is missing.
Chainfire included a fix for Omni5 roms that have no selinux or have set selinux to permissive.

Now, for the root it has been told, what about the other two features?
I'd like to try OmniROM if those bits are in already.

Ok, have a pretty stable build of CM13 for our beloved Z3C.... This is a work-in-progress, so don't expect stock-like stability.
Have one BIG issue currently - NO CAMERA. This is being actively worked on, but proving tricky... rather than post unstable builds with flaky camera framework, I have opted for stable builds with no camera until it's working well....
We have a camera now.... Need a couple of volunteers to test... The new build is uploading now, and is NOT available on the download link below - I will post the link once the upload is complete....
No real need to tell you about CM features as most of you will be familiar with CM and ROM's based on CM.
Note: Root is disabled by default - you will need to activate Developer Settings (7 taps on the Build Version in the About Phone menu).
Known issues:
Errr, lack of a camera (note that downloading a camera app from Play Store would only be of use of you need to waste some time... hehe!)
Camera!
External sdcard - using your card from a previous android version *may" give you a notification that it is corrupted - IT'S NOT, it will still be ok and accessible from your previous ROM. If you want to use it on Marshmallow, it will need to be formatted. :-(
External storage is NOT mounted as "sdcard1", and is not natively writeable... This is being worked on.
External SDCARD fixed!!
DOWNLOAD! (will be uploading updated builds every few days - until the official CM nightlies start rolling out....)
To Install:
1. - BACKUP YOUR CURRENT ROM (on internal storage preferably)
I will NOT be handing out tissues to wipe away tears if you do something silly... if you are not sure, then don't!
2. - Factory Reset from the Wipe menu in TWRP
3. - Flash the ROM.
IMPORTANT!!! If you want to use Gapps, you MUST flash it straight after flashing the ROM. Do not reboot, then decide you want to flash gapps. You have been warned.
Have fun!!!

Unfortunately not....
We do have a group of quality devs actively working on AOSP for Xperia devices though, so hang in there.... :fingers-crossed:

Old news? On the Sony Developer World Mobile site? Surely not, as the Latest Updates page says....
"Latest updates:
On this page you find the latest updates to our AOSP projects. We will continously add news, so stay tuned!"
there is already something new about the camera in your rom

Yeah, the article is from November 2015, but the link is from the monthly "update" email from Sony which is dated January 2016... Like I said earlier... "Continuously updated"!

Very cool, I saw you cloned my sources a couple of weeks ago and that you where working on the dts files a couple of days ago. I have to have another look at what you have done. I keep getting boot loops that are related to the screnn dts and driver files. Awesome to see you having some success. Great work, I'll try a build with your kernel changes tonight. I've been getting so frustrated with the dtb kernel binding errors.
PS I am quite a github noob, I was trying to work out how to mesage you from in there the other day to share a fix I had for display driver build errors but I coulndn't work out how. Is the a PM system in github.
Also I notice you are using a dpi value of 200 but when you do that it actually ends up using 213 as thats the lowest value the screen will use(atleast with the international screen) and many apps have compatibility issues with any value below 240.
thanks again
Thanks again zihan. Took a quick look at your kernel and it turns out I had been trying to fix things that didn't matter. I had mistakes in my defconfig. So I reverted my last couple of changes and fixed the defconig and now my cm12.1 boots too. Let the debugging begin.
Good job to the both of you!
Fix for wifi

I just sent a pull request to update the wifi files in the cm12.1 branch of device tree . It updated firmware files that work with the updated pronto drivers in cm12.1 kernel. I accidentally committed them to the cm11 branch 1st but the reverted the changes. As I said earlier, I a GitHub noob and still working it out. My build seems to be working pretty good now so I'm going to upload a test build and start getting some bug testing feedback.

The wifi was bring.Thanks.
is the WiFi bug patched? I really want to try this but first I want to know if i would have WiFi as it is important during the day. can one of you please PM me a link to a flashable zip/kernel? the links to the vendor and kernel failed to flash through TWRP (3.0.0-0) I would really appreciate the flashable zip and instructions on how to flash it. I can be a beta tester if you need but I do also have school so I would also appreciate a more stable build that wont crash every 5 minutes, but I can live with the crashing. If you do respond, Thanks! if you dont respond thats OK.

The links in here are source files for building a rom and kernel not for flashing to a device. Yes wifi is fixed in the build I posted here.
