To be honest, this is not tablet mode at all, it has nothing to do with silly build.prop hacks. This is the first and only Android rom to feature true Hybrid mode. This rom lets you scale and project every app, every widget, even systemcomponents individually. Remember, android is modular, everything is an app: Lockscreen, navigationbar, dialogs, popups, keyboards, widgets, and your regular apps of course. Apps have the capability to switch into various designs or layouts according to the device they run on. This can result in a complete new experience as many apps will transform to the better.
Now for every element that you like chose a mode (PhoneUI, Phablet/Nexus-7UI, TabletUI) and/or a size. You are 100% independent of the system DPI which runs nicely in whatever value it has been assigned to. You do not need to boot your phone into a certain DPI. Neither will most of the changes you apply require a reboot. You will not suffer from the myriads of troubles which normally haunt you under build.prop tablet mode. Your market, phone, etc. will all work, apps won't shrink on you unless you shrink them yourself. This project will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the feel of your phone.

If you have an issue and you want to call our attention, here's what you do:
Try everything you can, find solutions for yourself. Wipe caches, revert all your settings you have made, go back to your stock Kernel, factory reset if you have to or reflash the rom. Assume that the issue is on your side and try your best to isolate it.
Search this thread and Cyanogenmods aswell (its our base) for possible reoccurences of your issue and hopefully solutions that may have come up.
If you think the issue is important enough that we should cease our work and look into it, post your issue, BUT ...
... stay friendly, do not demand anything, do not threaten
... explain your issue as precise as you can, name the exact apps and conditions that cause trouble, help us to replicate the issue right away. If we can't there's no way we can fix it and your post will simply clutter the thread
... collect evidence, keep in mind this is a developer thread so even if you are not one, do us the favor and research how to record logcat. logcat is the single most important help you can give us to resolve your issue.

it's ran perfectly in ray, i built them 2 weeks ago since v1.9.8
you mean ParanoidAndroid rom right
[edit:]
the only reason I didn't upload it is because *boy*racer* made it very hard for ray by porting it from i9000.
why don't you just support him by providing him fresh build rom and let him maintain the rest, just my 2 cent.

Thanks but it's ok, if he wants to post his Rom I'm ok with that. My Rom is bugging me so much at the minute as I can't get native WiFi tether to work.
Before I just change a value in framework and it worked. But this time it won't. Plus I am not able to base it on fxp or able to port the latest PA to our ray
So to sum it all up, I guess it would be a good thing if he releases it. Then hopefully we will have a near enough fully working pa Rom.

EDIT : downloading it now , proud to be one of your beta testers ..

I will be youre beta tester.
I have many time and I test all what you want.

After doing factory reset and wipe dalvik cache, and downloading latest gapps package from the goo.im manager, it seems to be working fine, although there seemed to have a graphical glitch when setting doing initial setup.

Screen shots coming right up !
Edit : Screenshots are up ~

i just downloaded the rom, but after i did all wipes and installed the rom i got a bootloop!
im using sirkays kernel, do i have to flash the kernel that is in the rom too or not?

flashing instructions
you want the best experience from the rom - speed/optimized/stability!
Follow this to the t.
1. Flash the rom after wiping data/cache/system.
2. After reboot, don't touch the phone, screen, anything for the first 10 minutes!
- exception - if there's a google start page(like on v2.0) wait for 2 minutes, then go through the initial pages, till you reach the home launcher, and then let it idle for 10 minutes! (do not configure google account right now.
3. Reboot
4. Now, configure your wifi(if you feel like, else 3g/2g's good), and configure google account and repeat the 10 minutes wait.
5. Reboot again.
6. Now install/restore apps from titanium backup or whatever place you choose to from. However, avoid restoring data as much as you can! Different bases have different structures, and can cause corruption!
7. Reboot to recovery
8. Wipe cache, dalvik cache, fix permissions.
9. Enjoy !!!
I have used these steps ever since eclair on a samsung galaxy s vibrant, and they've never failed me...

fix battery drains
if its terrible!
1. Backup your memory sds...
2. Format your sd card and external sd partition.
3. Restore just the images, songs, titanium backup folder, clockworkmod backups. Avoid the other folders that can possibly contain corrupt files, specially those made by unstable apks.
4. You should have a major difference in battery life.
If its not so terrible!
1. Go to sd card, wipe/delete the following folders
- /sdcard/android/data/com.android.providers.media
- /sdcard/android/data/com.cooliris.media
- /sdcard/android/data/com.google.android.gallery3d
- /sdcard/android/data/com.android.providers.media
- /sdcard/androidthemes (its only a backup, not required if your rom is fine)
- /sdcard/android/dcim/.thumbnails
- /sdcard/android/dcim/100andro
- /sdcard/lost.dir
reboot, and let it stay for 10 minutes! (building thumbnails etc.)
reboot again... Enjoy!

KNOWN ISSUES AND WORKAROUNDS
- MIUI Themes don't work. SOLUTION - Create /data/system/theme to get it to work! Only themes supported for V4 (ICS) would work properly. However, lockscreens from older themes should work!
- Initially the permissions manager will ask for permission to Manage ROOT. Permit that.
- Market won't download big apps. SOLUTION - Go to Downloads > Settings > Deselect - Data Download Prompt.
- Titanium Backup not restoring backups - SOLUTION - Enable USB Debugging in Development, Unknown Sources in Security (Device Administration). IT WORKS NOW!
- Cannot see EMMC in File Explorer - SOLUTION - Use Root Explorer, Astro File Manager, ES File Manager. (Its a MIUI v4 Bug)
- Google Apps v10 includes FaceUnlock, Google-Gallery(Support of Google Photos) and other features... If you want any of these, flash the ZIP from post 3)
- MMS Bug of SMS not reaching in first send. SOLUTION - Change View to List in Settings in Messaging APP.
- USB Storage Mount doesn't work SOLUTION - Use ADB mode/AirDroid/DroidExplorer/FTP/any other mode to share files.

Like CyanogenMod, MIUI also is in development! Bugs like themes not working perfectly, MIUI settings not being there are just a few of them...
Its got loads of stock ICS components, that need to be worked on... But that should come up with weekly updates...
Are those three minutes will be long lasting?
Hi adyscorpius,
Did you manage to solve the slow downs (market, dialer, SMS) all three seem quite slow? Also is there a 4way reboot implemented?
Sorry man, slow internet, the last upload timed out! Again at 42% right now...
And regarding the slow downs, some of it should be sorted out with the zip aligns I did. Its not the smoothest out there though! But I shall work on it.
4 way reboot isn't implemented right now!
Nice.
Is it Multi-Language or only English and Chinese?

I have tested the very alpha V4 from Galnet and it was blazing fast but not usable since phone calls were not working, I wonder why this release is slow??
Do you know if the a 4way reboot is available for the V4 MIUI as a flash-able zip?
What is the status now?
Guys, is there an issue with Firefox and Mediafire? It failed out even this time at 96% +
Suggest me another place!
I'm posting on Dropbox for now! There it should work temporarily, till i find an alternate upload location!

[ROM][CDMA/GSM TEST]Codename Android [4.0.4]

FIRST OFF: THIS IS FOR UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS. IF YOU TRY TO INSTALL THIS WITH A LOCKED BOOTLOADER, YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE.
What it is:
(From the Galaxy Nexus Android Development CNA Thread)
Codename Android is a fully open source rom that focuses on speed, usability, and getting every feature that we can get CRAMMED in there :_con: .
Our mission is to spread the Open Source Android love to as many people as possible, and get as many people involved as possible. Along with the rom there will be tutorials to get more people involved and learning how to build android step by step.
Click to collapse
What it is not:
I do not claim any thing special about the code other than some simple changes to make it work on the R800x. Either FXP built it (if it's a port) or it's code from CNA/Koush/freexperia or anybody else who has contributed to the CM9/Android repos.
I have made a few changes to the CNA vendor tree to add in a the ability to build zeus, changes to device/semc/msm-7x30-common to allow the semc_ota_from_target_files to work, I changed the libs in (my own) vendor/semc/zeus to be R800x libs and I removed the storefront from the proprietary files list in device/semc/zeus
KeiranFTW's CM9 kernel is recommended, it's included in all the zip files (source)
Now, onto the good stuff.
What Works:
Data
Calls
Wifi
GPS
SMS
Accelerometer
MMS (thanks chrono!)
What Doesn't Work:
ALS (Disabled by Keiran in kernel)
Bluetooth Media Audio (Thanks chrono!)
Video Recording (Thanks Neoandgeo for pointing that one out)
Facebook account syncing (Thanks DoubleByte) -- Note facebook account syncing looks like it's a problem within 4.0.4 framework...
Looks like there's an issue with navigation buttons the the R800x, looking into it.
What Kernel to use:
Use DFK-CM9 kernel (it's included in each zip) so far that seems to have the best balance of battery life & speed.
Anything else that doesn't work, lemme know, I'll add it to the list.
Link to CM9/CNA Files
What's in it:
1) 05/06 "lite" build (what you'd get from building it from scratch)
2) 05/05 "Full" build (added in some necessary apps, like messanger, music from cm9, etc.)
MAKE SURE TO INSTALL OVER A CM9 BUILD, OR HARDWARE KEYS HAVE ISSUES (DO NOT WIPE DATA WHEN INSTALLING)
Steps to do a install:
1) Download & copy to sdcard
2) reboot recovery,
3) MAKE A NANDROID!
4) wipe dalvik/cache
5) install from sdcard.
Thanks to Ridder215215, a complete guide on how to install CM9 (just replace the link in line 2 with the link above)

Nope, I'm gonna make this side-by-side with CM9. (And i'm gonna get started on another one soon if cj360 doesn't beat me to it ) (In fact i'm making the latest CM9 now)
I am sure this has already been asked but am I to assume that as it is based off off CM9 that the touchpads will not work? The only thing holding me back from all the other CM based ROMs is that I heard that touchpads do not work as that is part of the Sony Ericcson framework... Anyway besides that... thank you for the ROM is looks great... also I recognize the wallpaper on the screenshot and I know its a music band but what is the name of the group?

Actually, this one isn't based off CM9. It's as AOSP as possible (no CM9 additions in it )
But yeah, touchpads are still iffy, and the band is Demon Hunter.
This is definitely going in my list of what to try once I can install custom kernels! This looks SO cool!
Pax, without you we r800xers would not have much.. thank you!!!
As always pax, well done sir.
Just to let those who are unaware know, in Advanced Testing in the Settings menu, Spare Parts settings force closes the Settings menu, as does Development settings.
Pax, you said, in your CM9 thread, that the T-Mobile Theme Chooser had been added to the source, right? Do you know if it's working properly, and do you plan on sticking it in CNA, or just in CM9?

Just CM9, it'd take a ton of changes to the framework to implement the theme engine into cna.

+1 regarding the bugs noted. Originally I thought it was because Spare Parts wasn't installed, but it still FCs after Spare Parts is installed.

PARANOIDANDROID XperiaPlay
This rom is based on the great work of team paranoidandroid
and the unoffical CyanogenMod 9 from FXP TEAM so all credits and thanks to them in the first place !
This is an ongoing developer project to make way for a modification that will entirely transform your device, but retain the aesthetics and the experience of your phone. I know you've seen tablet mode roms before, they change two lines in your build.prop file which you could easily edit yourself in seconds and maybe throw a keyboard in there to make it work better. It's a start, but this ain't enough. This thing has potential, but it is wasted the moment you try to stuff a full blown tablet into your poor phone. Yet we all know our high res phones can very well handle more than silly 1-column layouts. So the magic must be in between somewhere, a place that Google must have overlooked and left blank. Yes, this rom strives to drop your device into tablet mode, but it won't stop there, it will reshape and redefine ICS to make it all a usefull addition and not just a cute novelty. we're calling it: Hybrid Mode, best of both worlds.

The CM9 CDMA patch should do the trick.
There is no need for a separate build

The only problem in this ROM is some apps are not in the Play Store such as Foursquare, any fix?
yeahh.....most of the stuff in the market not compatible.. any fix?
Google policy forbids you to use their market if you change your DPI. The only values allowed are 160, 240, 320. Why? No one knows why. There have been workaroundw, wiping cache, using a valid DPI, open market, reboot back, blablabla, forget it, its rubbish. It will work for a minute and then it will cease to. In our package Phonesky and GoogleServicesFramework were hacked. It has other additions aswell: http://4ndr01d.com/drcmda/common/

Bug List
Hey thanks for the Nice Rom. :good:
Could you please tell about the bugs? Already i have tried the CM10 on my Xperia Ray Device. Its has too many bugs something like Camera, FM etc.
If your Rom is free from these bugs then of course it would be a great news as a JB Rom

Thanx, so far everything works fine, there's just a couple of things:
1) I had to manually copy the wifi modules to /system/lib on LuPuS kernel in order for WiFi to work.
2) SuperSU can't update the SU binary, I also tried to reinstall SuperSU via CWM and it said that there was no SU binary, so maybe there are some problems with that.
Everything else is great, will report later regarding battery performance and the like.

Sent from my Xperia Mini Pro using xda premium
The WiFi modules are a non-issue and only happen on kernels other than the included one, so there's no need to include them in the ROM.
I'm gonna try some stuff regarding the SuperSU issue and report back.
Edit:
The SuperSU issue on my phone was from a bad install, I reinstalled everything, flashed SuperSU via CWM and everything works just fine.
I've had no problems at all. Full wipes and I flashed ROM then gapps then modules.. everything working fine
