boot loop - is this normal? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Hi, i just unlocked the bootloader on my Sony Xperia S, installed ClockworkMod recovery and now I am getting a boot loop. I cant turn off the phone, it only gives me an option to reboot CWM.
(I am currently downloading CM9 to flash it). It says on the tutorial to transfer the zip files to the SD card of my phone, But how can I do that, I cant access the internal storage of my phone using a USB cord. The PC cannot detect the phone.)
I need your help badly! I dont want to brick my phone! Thanks!

Download advanced stock kernel from the development forum and fastboot it from your pc and see what happens

If the battery is removable then remove it orelse hold and press volume + and power button till the phone vibrates once and switches off or

Phone wont boot. Bad flash

Xperia S Issues. Bad Flash
Hi, I read the 'existing users' installation instructions on the Sspeed ICS rom and installed the rom without installing the ics rom and kernel (I was tired). When booting, I go in a bootloop with the doomkernel screen. I can access recovery fine.
When holding vol+ and connecting to PC the phone goes back into it's bootloop and does not boot into fastboot.
When holding vol- and connecting to PC the phone flashes the green led and then boots into bootloop.
If I wait until the phone vibrates and lights up blue I can press the button to access recovery. I thought I could then just copy a gb rom over using USB mount but it is not detected on the PC.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Thanks but like I say fast boot and flashmode don't work so I can't access this option
I have the same problem too... I was hoping it would just work, but apparently it doesn't it needs a base rom.....I'm at work at the moment so i cannot fix my phone(i flashed it while at work which i shouldn't have done...) i noticed you can put it into fast boot in recovery - go to reboot options then fast boot can you see if that works

Hi thanks for your reply. I've tried going to fastboot
from recovery and I get a blue flashing light for one flash then it boots up again. Am I able to do anything at that point?
Glad I'm not the only stupid one on here
im not the expert here but I have bricked other phones before but never an xperia phone before. I have been reading up, the doom kernel has some mounting options, try to mount the sd card as mass storage so pc can send files accross to the phone. It should be mount and storage menu -> mount usb storage, then leave it on that menu and connect to computer, see if that works

Hi is this by the mount USB storage optuon ? I tried that and it wasn't detected on the PC. I could try another PC later. Recovery went into mount mode fine but nothing happened on the PC. Not even a blank drive which I know some people have had
If it blinks the LED for a second and reboots, that means that you don't have the drivers. Install drivers that are bundled with flashtool and try again. Or use Linux / OSX.

I've used the laptop I'm trying it on for unlocking the boot loader and rooting. Maybe something corrupted the drivers. Will try on my Linux machine when I get home.
Thank you for all the help so far
Just Press VolUp and Power button until you get (one vibration followed by 3 consecutive vibrations) ... it will mean phone is shutdown.
Once shutted down, you will be able to press VolDown while plugging phone to PC and it will enter into flashmode.
Then you will be able to flash a FTF using flashtool
doesn't work...after the 3 beeps i let go and the screen turns black but then the boot loop happens again, i cant turn the phone off

Hello. I've got familiar problem. My phone blacked out after one day having about 35 % battery full. I was trying to reset it by holding power and volume up buttons - nothing happened. Just once showed up Sony logo but then again black nothing. Then it vibrate 3 times quickly and from that time it is shutted down, won't turn on even in flashmode. LED is not working too. I was asking for advice in local store servise and guy told me, that new phones have to be at least 30 min on the charger. So it's here now for hour, no result. :/
Just fixed this issue.
Follow these steps
1.hold vol up + power until phone vibrates 3 times.
2.open flash tool and point towards your stock file.
3.hit okay
4.wait for flash tool to prepare the files then it will prompt you to connect device in flash mode( vol down + power)
5.wait for it to finish. Unplug reboot and there you go fixed...
Hope this helps

Use the bundled wallcharger!!! not a PC, pc has too less power to charge it now!
After wallcharger is placed hold vol+ and power for a few seconds until 3 vibrations, then let the phone on charger for atleast 2 hours, if all is good phone will bootup to the "charging animation"

Something similar happened to me. I have the bugged version of chargemon (only can charge with phone on) and accidentally discharged completely. The phone didn't boot, didn't charge and didn't do the 3 vibrations thing. So I put the battery off, conected the wall charger, putted the battery and it booted
It's really easy to remove the battery, you just need to be careful

Xperia S stuck in CWM loop

I hope this is in the right section, don't know as I am new to XDA.
But I have a real issue. Here goes.
I recently updated my Xperia S to ICS. And I thought I want to root it.
So I went ahead and started, but when I should have placed a zip file on my internal memory, I extracted the files there instead.
So no, on CWM, when I am supposed to install from .zip file, I can't, since I do not have .zip file there.
I have tried almost all of the options on CWM on the phone, nothing works and I just get back to the start.
So my question is, how do I get out of the loop?
Is there any way I can access my phones files? So I maybe can put the SuperSU .zip file in the directory?
I can boot the phone in fastboot mode, but then it doesn't show on the computer.
Or maybe I can just reverse everything? An easy way, because I am not the best when it comes to this. I have found some solutions, but they ALL require that you put files on your SD card. Only problem is that my phone doesn't have SD card, only internal memory. ANd I can't access that right now.
Please help
Download Flashtools from http://androxyde.github.com/
Download a stock ftf rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599303
Put the downloaded rom in the flashtool/firmwares/ folder, then go to flashtool/drivers/ folder and run Flashtool-drivers.exe, when that has finished restart your computer.
Turn phone off, now press and hold the volume down button and connect the phone to your computer with the usb cable, when you get a green led you can let go, you are now in flash mode.
Start up flashtool, or flashtool64 if your on an x64 system, click the thunderbolt icon in the top left corner, select flashmode and click ok, in the left hand window select the rom you downloaded and then click ok in the bottom right corner.

Is your Bootloader unlocked?
Hello, I'm having the same problem too, but I wonder how do I "turn off" the device, since I keep pressing the top button to do this and it reboots and goes into CWM mode? Will I have to remove the battery?
Good news. Luckily I managed turn off the device. In the CWM main menu, keep the cursor positioned over the option that resets the device. Hold down the power button and immediately after, press the volume up and hold. Wait until the device vibrates 3 times. Now ready you run the procedure to connect in download mode and reinstall your firmware.

Nothing to worry... Happened to me too.
Use flashtool to reflash entire ftf(if you have ulbl) else use SEUS to repair (if you have lbl, I hate pcc!).
If lbl.... Then ulbl.
Use cmd to flash a custom kernel(don't use doom kernel its for gb).
Finished....

Had a similar problem.. FIxed it with a lot of reading but now dnt remeber anymore :/
I'm having this problem too...
Almost everything is ready for flashing now, except the phone is not really turning off, even after 3 vibrates when holding down power and volume up... It turns off, but coming back in flash process!
That's how far I can go: It turns off, I hold down volume down, connect it to PC, have a green light. Flashtool see the phone, I push Flash button,Program gives "Device connected in flash mode" message, then "Selected Xperia s (LT26i)_WORLD_6,1,A,2,50_IT.flf" message, "Preparing files for flashing" message and "Device disconnected" message, because this stupid Recovery back on my screen again...
If I just can find the way to turn off my phone, so it's not come back to live when connected to PC...

SOLVED!
I manage to fix it!
Just wait for Flashtool to give error message (with phone picture and USB cable in it) and ask to reconnect device. Unplug device, press power button and volume up button until vibrate 3 times. Push volume down and plug usb cable, to get green light. Flashtool continue process from where it was broken.
Error message popped up not from first try, so hopefully this will be helpful to somebody...

I think this recovery.img was not walid... I did that with my phone too, and nothing appear in screen. U have to flash another kernel (i suggest, the doomlords kernel). After that turn on the phone, and press the volume up, when doomlord logo appears.

If you tried the methods above with no joy it obviously isn't installed. With the cwm you are trying is there a .bat file in the download on your computer. If so while your phone is plugged into PC run the bat file and follow onscreen instructions. Then try launching cwm again. If you havnt managed it yet leave a message and I'll find it.

I am posting here as I am facing the same problem.
I have been following this guide to flash my phone with CM10 from ICS stock rom.
h#ttp#://androidlegend.com/xperia-s-update-to-android-4-1-jelly-bean-with-cyanogenmod-10/
I have successfully followed everything done previously, including Unlocking the bootloader, getting root access, installing busybox, using RecoverX to install CWM.
I copied the FXP150-cm-10.1-20121209-UNOFFICIAL-mint.zip to sdcard, is it this that is required to flash to ROM or the boot.img that is inside the zip?
And I am stuck on that part where I have to reboot into recovery mode. I have tried
a) Connecting my phone and opening fastboot mode and then try to keep the vol up pressed to open recovery mode.
b) Without connecting, powering my phone on and pressing volume up. But there is no blue LED
c) Without connecting, powering my phone on and continuously tapping on sony logo. After that Xperia logo.
But I can not enter the recovery mode.
A little guidance please?
Flashing CM needed a seperate kernel. Keep following the instructions to use fastboot to flash the boot.img
Power the phone off. Hold vol + then plug the USB cable in. There should be a blue light.
Poorly written tutorial IMO. Should be flashing kernel first then the rom to save some panic.
I asked the Sony-Support, they say that there is no recovery-mode.(for Xperia U, but they are the "same")

Guys, dont ask Sony cause stock ROM doesnt have recovery.
If you want to flash CM you must fastboot the boot.img inside the zip file, before that put the ROM into your phone memory, power on the phone and keep pressing vol up, enter into CM recovery and flash rom from phone memory. Wipe before and after.
Agree, stock ROM doesn't have Recovery Mode. When you turn your phone with VOL_UP, nothing happens :cyclops:

try flashing it again, maybe your first flash had an error.
Met the same problem and here what I did:
-Take off the battery in 10 minutes and put it back
-Plug the charger into the phone and do the logging in CWM steps (press and hold the volumme up, press the power button).
Finally it worked, hope this can help

HELP - Xperia S stuck in boot logo

My Xperia S is just a week old with locked bootloader.
I rooted it and backed it up thru CWM.
I applied a sound mod thru CWM which i did not like so tried to flash back my backup.
Before flashing i wiped everything possible, cache, data, system, dalvik cache, battey stats.
When i tried to flash my backup the recovery says there is ' MD5 Mismatch '
So now my Xperia S is stuck at boot logo, does not go into recovery, does not go into flash mode so i'm not able to flash thru flashtool or seus.
I tried holding Power and Vol Up button , but it only restarts the mobile and again stuck at boot logo.
Pls help i'm losing hopes.
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried turning the phone off, hold vol up and connecting USB and see if you can get it into fastboot mode?

ok dont panic, hold POWER + VOLUME UP and when it vibrates release the buttons. Boot the phone. If its still stuck than hold POWER + VOLUME UP for 20 seconds and repair the phone with seus since its with locked bootloader. If that doesnt work, download firmware around this forum and flash the phone

Bad Recovery
I'm thinking I completely ****ed up my phone, but someone please prove me wrong.
I flashed the ROM but it got stuck on the bootloading screen. So I rebooted into CWM and did a SYSTEM restore.
Problem is, I restored the system to when it did not have CWM flashed yet.
So now, it boots into the custom bootloading image and stays there. When I hold power+volume to reboot into CWM, it loads the original bootloading image (as expected) and gets stuck there because (I'm guessing?) I did not do a full restore.

Charge your phone. You have to press and hold the volume up and power button simultaneously until the phone vibrates 3 times and turns off completely. Then try to connect the phone in flashmode.

Phone does not respond after file transfer!

So i was transfering some files to my xperia p and all of a sudden i noticed that the transfer was hold up,at that point i tried waking up my phone but it wouldnt,i tried pressing the power button, the camera button and all that are avalible but to no success. So i tried to reboot the phone via the combination of Power+Volume UP buttons, and thats it.nothing else happens. It does not respond and so i tried to remove and reinsert the battery, and then the phone lit up with the sony logo and its been there for over and hour and ahalf.

I unbricked my phone with this guide. my phone was in a OS bootloop but it works, in your case, a Kernel Bootloop. Its a very good guide. You DO NOT need to root your phone. When flashing, instead of pressing back you press volume down. The phone should be able to enter what it is called, flash mode regardless of what problems. After flashing ALL DATA WILL BE LOST. Just follow the guide.
