Serious problem - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi folks!
I've made some mistake and i dunno how to get out.
So today i was trying to flash CM9.
I didn't put the rom in the sdcard in first place cause i thought that would work in CWM. Now i've done everything like unlocking bootloader, install CWM and install CM kernel but...i'm stucked cause i have no way to access sdcard & push the zip file to install the ROM.
Mount options in CWM are not working and i'm not able to access adb to push the file.
What should i do?

Do you have fastboot?
Turn off phone, disconnect usb. Hold down Volume up and connect usb cable to pc. (dont touch power or home or something else, just keep volume up pressed). If you see a blue led and type in cmd: Fastboot devices. And a device pops op. You have fastboot and we can help further.
You could also try flashmode:
- Switch off the phone
- Press the Volume down button and hold it
- (While holding) Plug in the USB cable
-If successful, the LED should turn green
You could then flash a tft file from here using flashtool: http://www.mediafire.com/?tefi2sficc17a10

I have fastboot working of course!

I've flashed another kernel (official modded) and now i'm able to access sdcard!!!
I think that i've resolved :victory:

[Q] Bootloop, USB Connectivity etc.

So, I have CyanogenMod 7.0.3 Stable flashed in my Legend, and it's been working just fine. Until couple days ago when I made some theme changes through Theme Chooser and flashed some theme add-ons. Now the phone is acting just stupidly. It's in a bootloop (sometimes loops in HTC bootscreen, sometimes in the CyanogenMod bootscreen), usb connectivity doesn't work (fastboot usb works, adb/mass storage etc. doesn't). I have tried to wipe the phone and flash that rom/recovery again through fastboot, but fastboot says "remote: not allowed" or something like that. Bootloader works, fastboot works, even recovery works but it's no use 'cause adb driver doesn't recognize the phone.
Please guys, help me. What should I do to get my phone running again? (working CyanogenMod or even a stock without root, I don't care, I just want this thing up and running again)
EDIT: And the weird thing is, that couple times I was able to boot the phone normally using recovery by just sticking the usb cable into the phone. And also, couple times I was able to boot it normally by just using fastboot reboot (I was able to get to the HTC Setup screen and then it would crash and show just black screen with notification bar)
It's possible the you're USB bricked. A quick search of "USB unbrick" should bring the required thread to light (search in development)

Yeah, I have thought of that! Only problem is that how am I supposed to get the required files (flash_image and .img) to SD card without a way to manage SD card? Can I flash the image using fastboot?
I can't do it inside the phone 'cause I'm in a bootloop and can't boot the phone.
EDIT: Is there a chance to do a wipe and flash a new rom using only fastboot or something?
In theory you can flash without recovery, but only if you're S-OFF. You'll need the ROM in .img format too.
I used a microSD to SDCard reader to transfer the files., they're fairly cheap in high street stores. Or borrow a friends Android phone

Well, am I able to flash those files once they are in the SD card? I mean with S-ON cause I don't have S-OFF?
Or is my phone a complete brick? =( Cause I'm pretty much all out of ideas..
Once you've got the files needed for a USB unbrick on your SD card you'll be fine
if you have recovery access did you try to make apply update from SD card in order to pass in cwm recovery.
if you got a USB brick you can use a multifonction printer to mount your SD on your computer.
So in a nutshell, my problems are:
- My Legend is in a bootloop
- Apparently my phone is USB bricked cause only fastboot works
- I don't have a recovery, when I go manually into recovery (recovery -> POWER + VOL UP) it goes into stock recovery
- And also my phone is S-ON
Could you guys point me into the right direction with this, I really want my phone back working. What should I do?
When you get to the stock recovery, navigate to ans select "flash update.zip from SDcard" That should get you to ClockworkMOD. Once there you'll need to use ADB to push the files required for the USB unbrick procedure to the SDcard (adb push [files-on-pc] /sdcard/) You should no be able to perform the the USB unbrick.
You may need your phone plugged into a PC for it to boot

But I'm getting this blue recovery screen with only four options instead of the original green one including option to flash zip. So wtf has happened?
EDIT: In the blue recovery screen it says Can't open cache/recovery/command. And when I choose "apply sdcard:update.zip" it says "signature verification failed" and it aborts the installation.
Fakeflash.

So I am able to flash roms only using this menu? Am I correct? Just do a wipe and apply update.zip?
Why does it say "verification failed" then?
EDIT: Oh I see, I have to download fake-flash update.zip and apply update.zip takes me to the clockwork recovery? When I put the update.zip to the SD card and apply it, then it should go on with out any "verification failed" errors?

My main priority is just to get the phone to run normally again, I can worry about the USB Unbrick later. So I just want to do a full wipe and flash Cyanogenmod again. Am I able to do all that is required to run the phone again normally with fakeflash?
Thanks in advance TheGrammarFreak, I really appreciate your help!
The phone won't run normally until you do a USB unbrick.
One of the things that happens with this USB brick is that a flag for advanced debugging gets set. It's a very deep setting, and the setting is read ad the HBOOT level. If this flag is set to on (like it is in a USB brick) the phone will not boot unless it's plugged into a computer. Remember that
In order to get your phone back I believe you will need to plug your phone into the PC and turn it on. It should boot, if not you will need to get to recovery and wipe/reflash (you'll need to do this while plugged into a PC too). Once you have a running system/you're in recovery you can use ADB to push the files needed for a USB unbrick to your SD card.
Assuming you got that far, you should be in a prime position to follow the USB unbrick procedure.
I'm going away tomorrow for a week, and I will not be online at all. If you need more help you will need to get someone else in. That said, I believe that with the information in this thread, the USB unbrick thread, the fakeflash thread and Google you have enough information and help top fix your phone

Stuck with Doomlords bootloops

Hi, i think i have a problem with the wrong kernel installed.
I have a SXSwith ICS and since a couple of days i tried to unlock the bootloader, put Doomlords CWM on it an root it, because i like to try another ROM.
I Unrooted it via the official way wich worked out good, the only thing strange was that i restarted and it seemed the whole phone was resetted.
Than i wanted to root and i had to put the phone in recovery mode, and i choose the doomlord CWM and flashed it using this guide
.
Xperia S
1.Download the Doomlord CWM Recovery image (download link here) and the Wi Fi Module for Doom Kernel (download link here) and place the same to the computer.
2.Go and rename the “S-DooMKernel-v01_kernel.elf” file into “kernel.elf”.
3.Copy the file renamed on the same folder with ADB / fastboot.
4.Take your phone and its USB cord and by using both connect it with the computer.
5.Copy-paste the “S-DooMKernel-v01-Modules.zip” file from the PC to the Xperia S SD card.
6.Disconnect the smartphone from the computer.
7.Reboot it by entering in fastboot; press the Volume Up button while connecting the phone with the PC.
8.On the computer open command prompt (Start -> run -> cmd) and enter the command: fastboot flash boot kernel.elf. If this isn’t working try with: fastboot -i 0x0fce flash boot kernel.elf.
9.The handset should reboot.
10.When you see the light turn blue hold the Voluem Up button. The Xperia S will enter in recovery mode.
11.In the recovery menu select “install zip from sd card” and pick the file copied there on step 3.
12.The installation procedure should begin. Don’t press anything as the process might take up to 10 minutes to complete.
13.In the end, from the recovery mode menu select “reboot system now” and you are done.
There you have it; that was the easiest and fastest way in which you can learn how to install Doomlord’s ClockworkMod Recovery on your Xperia S smartphone. Do tell us if there were problems on your way, of if you had issues in understanding one of my directions. Now you can go and update your Xperia S with the lasts ROMs available. Take a look and see if the
Everything seemed to be working but the phone is stuck in Doomlords bootloops.
If i hold the volume up than i can enter CWM but the phone doesn,t start anymore.
The phone was running on a stock ICS ROM (i believe the Swiss one)
I flashed this kernel, 2.6.35.11/Doomkernel.nr1 and SDoomkernel v01 Modules.zip
Who can help me out since i,m stuck here.
doomlord kernel is for GB since youre on ICS try KA Kernel, XSX Kernel, and the Advanced stock ICS. look in the development section. you can flash it in CWM since youve flash doomlord kernel or try to flash via fastboot.
Thanks for your quick response, how can i put the kernel on the internal sd?
the phone doesn't start, so it wont be recognised by windows, i tried to mount in CWM but windows doesn't see it.
If i flash in fastboot mode, do i have to change the name again and wich name if i take the KA kernel for example.
Thanks

Just downlaod the advanced stock kernel (the fastboot link) and flash it in fastboot
It will boot :good:
just download any of the 3 but u need the .elf file and then flash via fastboot you dont need to change the name just used the name youve downloaded to flash.
for example : ics14.elf
used fastboot or adb
fastboot flash boot ics14.elf
you can also used the flashtool, flash via fastmode then choose the ics firmware you have then flash only the kernel. uncheck everything except the kernel.
but the easy way to do is flash via fastboot mode.
I just tried using flashtool, everything goes fine exept it doesnt flash.
Downloaded the Stock "Swiss" ROM and tried to flash with flashtool, it recognised the device, because it says device connected, then it askes to unplug en plug in the device, which i've done then the pop up that tells to disconnect/connect the device stays on and nothing happens.
I'm getting a little worried now...
Thanks for your replie
hey you have working fastboot right or adb? flash a kernel like what ive said above using fastboot,
or you can try this, dont connect your phone to pc yet, make sure it is turn off (hold power button +power up wait till it vibrates 3 times.)
1. open flashtool
2. choose your firmware.
3. when it says unplugged your phone, connect your phone to pc then hold power button +volume up wait till it vibrates 3 times, then hold power button + volume down then release it will flash.
Thanks for all the replies, i got it working.
Seems that i turned my phone one in fastboot mode and not the flashmode...oops
Flashed the original Swiss ROM again and it works again, thankgod!
But i dont want the original anymore, can i just flash another available rom on the android dev section or do i need to root? Sorry for beeing such a noob.
yes you can just flash any custom kernel it will give you auto root, then u can start flashing rom via cwm. just follow the instructions in every rom.
I am having the same problem as I am stuck with DoomLord's boot loop. I tried to flash ICS stock rom but cant get to flash it. I tried holding the power button + volume up key(until i get the three vibration) and then hold power button + volume up key and release, I get the same DoomLord's boot loop again. I am using X10 Flashing Tool Version 0.8.0.0 Somebody please help me. The device can fast boot.
download the latest flashtool, then download ICS stock firmware of your choice on the general section, then flash it via flashmode. (power+volume down)

Phone is working!
When i tried discharging phone, that didn't help so i gave my phone to my friends dad because he is a good phone technican, and fixer. So what he did? That was akward moment
1. When he conected phone to his pc (win xp) the computer detected my phone (my computer wasn't able to detect)
2. Then he just flashed some files. But not with Flashtool. He used program called SE2tools or something like that.
3. The phone booted up and now is working sucessfully

Dude your a bit confused.
The only thing you may need flashtoo is first step (Flash boot.img from .zip via Fastboot ) all the rest is done in CWM recovery.
I don't know who told you to drain your baterry, but do not ever flash anything with baterry less than 50 percent, prefferrably fully charged.
Flash stock first, copy the zip to your SD card, then follow steps 1-9+.
For step 1 you need to extract boot.img from the rom zip on your pc.
To enter CWM recovery (after you flashed the boot.img), while device is booting (Sony LOGO) press volume down every second or so untill you are in CWM.
To nevigate in CWM, select - home key or power, move down - volume down or menu key, move up - volume up, exit/return to previous menu - back key or select at the bottom of the menu.

No No bro listen, I did a mistake while installing the Custom ROM.
I forgot to flash the boot.img and did full wipe even formatted the system. Rebooted the system without installing the ROM. Now, stuck at Sony Logo. (NOTE: During this I had the battery charged full)
To rectify the above issue, I tried to flash the boot.img through fastboot mode in Flashtool and install the Custom ROM through CWM. To connect to flashtool, the device should be switched off. Now, I cant switch off. I can only restart. Hence, I drained the battery completely and tried to connect to Flashtool. When I hold Volume Up key and connect to PC through USB, only red LED lights up. It is not connecting to Fastboot mode, also when holding Volume Down key and connect to PC through USB, only red LED lights up. It is not connecting to Flashmode.
Please help!
Thanks.

No you do not need to drain the baterry, nor do you need to shut down the phone.
In the link you have provided it shows you how to boot into fastboot via adb (Click 4).
Recharge your phone and follow the steps given there.
Stuck at Sony logo!

Turn the phone off, no need to drain battery, just press power + volume up until you feel 1 + 3 vibrations, open flashtool and connect in fastboot mode (volume up while connecting USB)
Do you see device connected in fasboot mode in flashtool log?
Did you install fastboot drivers from flashtool?
What is you windows version?
Got it Worked!

Nothing worked, anyway thanks bro.
I gave the phone to the technician and he made it to work. Now, I have sony xperia sola running 6.1.1.b.1.10 firmware. I am unable to update it to 6.1.1.b.1.54, error displaying as unable to communicate with sony. No Root, No CWM, just an unlocked bootloader.
Now, please tell how to root from here (6.1.1.b.1.10 firmware) and install CWM and flash some new custom ROMs.
Thanks,
Irfan

Step by Step guid for CarbonROM?

Does somebody have a step by step guid to install this on my device?
I found this and this but I dont know if this can be used to install the rom on my device.
I just know you need to unlook your bootloader first before to do anything.
I already checked and my device can be unlooked.
Go ahead man those guides are just fine. This is what I did to install Carbon.
Read all the steps first then do it, and also definitely read the note* at the end
Write down your IMEI somewhere safe
Unlocked bootloader. Get unlock code from Sony's official site. Just Google it it's easy to find. Don't follow unofficial websites, apps.
Turn the phone off.
Hold down the vol-up button.
While holding, attach the usb cable, wait a few sec.
Release the button. On laptop issue the command
Code:
fastboot devices
(download the fastboot from here on the forum if not already). You should see you'r device serial number.
If not, instead of attaching usb cable use the power button to turn the phone on (nothing happens on the phone screen) then attach usb cable.
Issue the command
Code:
fastboot oem unlock 0xTHE_CODE_YOU_GOT_FROM_SONY
Reboot perhaps?
Code:
fastboot reboot
If you rebooted, go back to fastboot mode as described above.
Flash TWRP (recovery.img). Download it's image from here on the forum. Use the command
Code:
fastboot flash FOTAKernel recovery.img
Detach USB cable, reboot, turn the phone off.
Hold down the vol-down key and power key. Phone turns on, when you see sony logo, release the buttons. The phone boots into TWRP.
There's a backup button. Make a backup. DO IT!
Attach the usb cable. Transfer the backup to laptop.
Back to main screen, choose wipe. wipe everything, internal, system, blabla.
Transfer the carbon ROM to phone.
Choose what was it on twrp? install? flash? it's the first option.
Choose the zip file.
Look for open-gapps and magisk here on the forum. Install them just the way you installed the ROM if you wish.
Reboot. Phone might reboot itself while loading the carbon once or twice.
If you have wifi and network, congrats. if not, look for z2 baseband patch here on the forum.
Boot back into the TWRP, transfer the file to phone, flash it. Reboot. Hopefully you have network.
If you have not bricked the phone by now, congrats you have carbon on your phone, have your guaranty voided, and all your personal data wiped from the phone.
There's just one catch that after flashing the baseband, you get carrier network back but wifi stops working. Which I'm strggling to fix yet.
note*:
Before installing the carbon, after you have unlocked the bootloader, installed TWRP, and made a backup, on your laptop run the following commands to have your current firmware, in cast the baseband patch doesn't work:
While in the TWRP, go to mount section, mount the system.
On the laptop:
Code:
adb shell
cd /sdcard
cp -r /system/etc /sdcard
tar cf original_rom_etc_backup.tar /sdcard/etc
exit
Then transfer the original_rom_etc_backup.tar file created on the phone to your laptop and store it safely.
Later you can extract this file and chery pick the modem files and replace carbon modem firmware with the original see if yo get lucky :shrug

Question How to fix bootloop?

I tried to root my phone using this guide, followed it down to the word and yet my phone's stuck in a bootloop. It keeps restarting to the Poco start screen.
Ive got the stock recovery, and for some odd reason fastboot commands work only in the "FASTBOOTD" screen and not the the "FASTBOOT" screen which you get from "adb reboot bootloader" command.
I try to shut it down and it boots up back again in the same screen and is stuck there.
Im clueless and I really dont know what to do. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
edit: I tried to use the stock recovery and wipe data. No progress.
I tried to connect the phone with the MIAssistant but the app doesnt recognise the device.
I tried using the MiFlash tool to flash the stock rom, it goes on infinitely. Im currently trying to use the SP Flash tool and MediaTek Bypass tool but I havnt got any progress yet.
I promise I'm never buying MediaTek devices ever again.
Careful with the Flash and Bypass tools, they can cause problems.
What can you achieve with the hardware buttons on the phone? Can you get it into recovery?
Fastbootd working but fastboot not sounds like a USB drivers problem - there are some driver options here.

It was a driver issue, thanks for the link.
What I did to get out of the bootloop:
1. Download the latest Miui rom for your version, make sure it's the recovery version and not the fastboot one.
2. Press ALL the buttons, Vol+ Vol- and Power button to shut it down for a few seconds (assuming you can't switch it off as it keeps powering back up again).
3. After it's switched off, quickly press the power and vol- button until you see the FASTBOOT screen.
4. Connect with PC, make sure you have the proper drivers and have connected with the right USB port.
5. Download OrangeFox custom recovery. It is a unofficial custom recovery, so its stability is questionable. But it does the job here.
6. Copy the OrangeFox zip and the Miui rom file to your phone's SD card or any external storage which your phone can access.
7. In your PC, extract the OrangeFox zip folder in your platform-tools folder. (The folder where you run your cmd fastboot/adb commands)
8. Open up cmd, and enter the command:
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
9. Your phone should boot up to the OrangeFox recovery. If not switch the phone off (Step 2) and press power + vol+ button for booting up to the recovery.
10. Locate your OrangeFox zip installer file in the recovery and flash it.
11. Reboot to the recovery again.
12. Locate the Miui rom and flash that. Before swiping to flash the rom, there is a check box which says something like "flash OrangeFox once the rom has been flashed". If you want to keep OrangeFox as your recovery then check it, or else leave it unchecked. Flashing roms remove custom recoveries.
13. Your phone must reboot to miui.
NOTE: You can use fastboot commands to flash the rom but I'm not very familiar with fastboot commands (I actually forgot most of them). Hence I use the recovery method.
