Can't remove help text from lockscreen? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone!
I searched the forum for a fix for this bug but didn't find any answers...
I'm on the latest jellybean leak and since DLI2 I can't remove help text from lock screen, even if it's unticked in the lockscreen settings.
So when I get a sms I have the message to slide the circle to open it all the time it's quite annoying because I need to press the ok button before doing anything...
Any one has a fix for this?
Thanks alot!

Did you do a full wipe before flashing?

[Q] SMS Notification issue

Hello
I have upgrade my HD2 from 1.66 to 3.14 - stock european rom (danish). No extra's except Cookies hometab.
I have searched, and searched and found answers, but sadly they do not work here.
Issue: SMS Notification: SMS Sent successfully (translated)
I do not want it. And i cannot seem to turn it off.
I have looked into SMS -> Settings .... and there is no mark in the SMS Delivery Report (again my translation). Tried some registry changes found using google, and still the I get the notification.
So the question is: how to turn it off ? Is it possible ?
tia
mvh / best regards
I had the same issue, and I could disable it.
When you're in the settings tab, use the Menu soft key and click the Plus menu item (it should be the only one), to access the Windows Mobile (i.e. not Sense's) control panel.
From there, you should be able to navigate to (roughly translated, I use the French ROM) sounds and notifications(sounds and alerts ?), then navigate to the second tab. There is a drop down list where you can select the "SMS sent" notification, and then, uncheck all the boxes to stop notifications.
When this is done, just press OK at the top left corner of the screen to save the changes, and return to the manila (sense) UI.
I hope this solves your problem.

Hi and thank you.
I tried it, but no effect.
It is not a big issue - just a small annoying one
so I can live with it.

Guys from HTC will probably never make SMS working perfectly on HD2. Fixing one thing, break another. These annoying notifications happen because of a missing registry entry. Just add it manually:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Jataayu\Messaging]
"DisableSMSSuccess"=dword:00000001
Worked for me.

And for me as well. Thank you.
Perhaps something for Tips & Tricks ?
If you don´t want to mess with the registry there is a cab file that does it for you.
http://www.4shared.com/file/9eCnZJR4/SMS_zend_popup_uitschakelen.html
It´s in dutch but it works with any language.
I installed the cab to disable the "message sent" notification, but since then the sms conversation mode has stopped working. When I receive a message I can see it on the messages screen but when I tap it the screen opens with the top half of the screen blank, where the sender's message should be displayed. The bottom half of the screen shows the reply section with "Tap to add text".
Uninstalled the cab and soft reset but cannot get back the conversation mode. I seem to remember someone posting about a similiar issue with an earlier rom, but despite searching I can't find it.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.
Edit: deleted all my messages and now conversation mode seems to be working again
Fix worked
This has really been bugging me since upgrading too..reg fix suggested works a treat with no ill side effects, thanks!
i created the registry key and it worked.
Thanks a lot!

sorry to ask you again
can you write me what do i add?
i dont want to use the cab
i added as you said the dword value but it didnt work.maybe the DisableSMSSucess should be DisableSMSSuccess?
change ur rom...
i added the string manually and all ok
In some cases you need to set following value, too:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMSG"=dword:00000001
Hi. Its a common problem. I called HTC Support and they said that is an error in this ROM upgrade. They still dont know if an upgrade will come to fix the proglem. It probably will. I had the same problem so I "Downgraded" the ROM to 1.66
Regards
Stefan

[Q] cant stop 2nd message notification

I recently started having this problem where I keep getting 2 notifications for texts after using 2.1
I use handscent sms and turned off all notifications from the default messaging app but they both still notify me of a new text. Its annoying itll vibrate twice, ringer twice. plus I cant even get the default sms thing in the notification bar to go away unless I manually clear it. Never had this problem for the months I had this phone before the update.
Anyone come across this or know how to fix it?
(oh and I tried a search but the xda search engine is down, it's down like 50% of the time I try to use it, so please no harsh remarks about a repeat post if this is one)

Google always works.
google brought me right to this post. so at least the next guy with this problem will be able to fix it if anyone has an answer....? I cant be the first one with this stupid double notification.
seemingly, after disabling notifications, removing the messages shortcut from the homescreen does the trick, although i havn't tried this myself.
you wont loose the messaging its still in your APPS list.
just tried it and it does work

I had the problem for the longest time. I eventually found out that it was the SMS widget in Beautiful Widgets that was causing the problem, even though you hadn't activated it. Uninstall Beautiful Widgets and see if it works.

yep it was the beautiful widgets sms thing thanks a lot man. I didnt have to uninstall it I just went in to the options and turned it off.
Simply open messaging and select setting by pressing menu key...
Disable notifications...!!!
Worked for me. ;-)
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i had the same problem a while back too. and by disabling the notifications it still didn't work. what i ended up doing was clearing the SMS center number under network settings and retyping it in manually. worked like a charm

[Spain's JB 4.1.2]T9 Custom Word/Notification bar animation/MediaScanner FIX

First:
Question: How do I create my own words on the T9? They removed this option? For example, I want to write "lol" in T9. Before you could write lol, click the arrow and click on "Add word" and you wrote "lol" so next time u got that word. Is this feature no more on JB? You kidding me??
Second:
Question: Everytime I scoll the notification bar, that little animation it does its all buggy. Not smooth AT ALL, seems only to literally jump. Whats wrong?
I tried rebooting phone including taking out battery, and still doesn't goes not even a little bit smooth. It started hapenning i did a full wipe - all was ok, then i restarted phone and it started happening!
Answer: SOLVED: here.
Third:
Question: Any way to fix Media draining bug with stock kernel?
Answer: Solving it atm with gastonw's idea. Needs more testing, but seems as setting camera default save to external SD and clearing Internal DCMI folder solves the issue. Orginal post in General ->

Re: [Spain's JB 4.1.2]3 Questions
Sorry I am not experiencing the second bug
The first doesn't bother me but if you want to get rid of it you can install Kii keyboard from play store
About the media scanner bug I am not experiencing it too. I've read that cleaning media scanner data can help...

Seems I found the answer my self after some testings. It seems its some animation window effect on Developer options which causes this to have "no amination" and look like so sluggish. To take effect it needs to reboot the phone (don't know if its a bug or not, at least for the notification bar you do, for the others i see imediate effect). I'm testing it right now.

YAY! I broke it down to "Animator Animation Scale" (Escala animação animador in portuguese) - Last animation option its the resposible for the notification bar to have animation! It needs reboot to take effect! POint number 2 solved

[Q] Sony Xperia P notification sound not working

I'm using Sony Xperia P. It's notification sound is not working upon getting a new message. But its getting vibration. I tried the factory settings, repaired using pc companion and tried the different settings. Now I got Jelly bean update, still the problem continuous. Please help me to solve this problem.

I tried all this. Every thing is fine. When I restart my phone it works for some time. But later after some time, it again repeats the same problem automatically.
Same happens to me. Although I don't miss the notification sound it's something bad.
how did you update/flash JB stock? I upgraded using the FlashTool with wipe data and cache
everything works well ever since I upgraded to JellyBean (European version rom), the only thing that didn't work well is the NFC (which probably is a Kernel issue) and the battery drain
its the same with me .. i just flashed the pre rooted jb hoping that the problem would not occur in this update ( yes it was in the ics as well ) but it seems that its still there .. though the 8mp camera is working .. can anyone suggest how to solve this .. freggin tired of missing all my messages
It's due to third party app that control the sound...
Like, blacklist, profile scheduler, go sms etc...
If you've, uninstall and try for some days...
You can temporarily get notifications back with wipe cache and dalvic cache from titanium or reset settings

Hey . This is because of a USSD code running in the background that causes your notifications sound to stop and it's because of the service provider ,not the phone .[In my case - vodafone]
Solution
Set default notification tone to silent.
Go to messaging settings and chose whatever ringtone you want.
For Gmail,go to label settings and change there.
Repeat the same for other apps that you need and your problem should be solved .

Notification & PIP issues

Hey guys,
I've been stuck with 2 issues on this device :
1. I'm unable to remove the notifications by just sliding them as the usual process .
This Color OS makes notification removal a tad tougher. I'm managing somehow after disabling the notification at the top of screen function.
Any help on this ?
2. PIP mode was enabled by default for many apps likes youtube and chrome for 2 days, but now none of the apps are working in pip mode !
Anyone else facing this?
If so any solution ?
Thanks !
