Seriously, I took this last night at my gig in Seattle. I was playing with a LOUD 15 piece Jazz Orchestra (Jazz Police) and recorded with the front facing camera. I'm really impressed with how it picked up everything. On the OG Evo, this would have sounded like, well, sh*t haha. Very good. If you tried this with an S3 you would have heard garbled noise. One of the reasons I chose this phone.
Did you start developing for Android because your sax playing was getting you too many chicks?
Nice groove, great playing and great recording.. I love the mic on this cell..picks up percussive sounds nicely, I get similar results recording guitar amps.. great job!

Thanks guys, I was extremely impressed with how it handled that situation. The lighting in the video sucks, but that's just because there were stage lights basically directly pointed at me and the phone.

Great stuff man! I played the trumpet all throughout grade school. I really wish I wouldve stuck with it. I have always loved the sax..... Its one sexy instrument.

damnit, nothing special on the sdcard, its still S on, was hopin it would be a random one, oh well.... however really getting to play with the camera and just did a side by side comparison to the EVO for a macro shot and holy crap this thing can focus like crazy and it looks phonemenal!!!! definitely beat the evo in that aspect, really really love the shutter button!

not really dev related, but since you touched it... does the 3d have the sensations camera speed? i pick my up tomorrow, but...
wow wow, slow your roll im excited here lol yeah the shutter is pretty quick, overall this camera is a heck of alot better then the og evo... and yeah they can move it or whatever if they want its ok...

I'm told that it is a gimmick, and that it should give me headaches. But it isn't and it doesn't. I actually love the feature that turns an otherwise boring also-ran smartphone into something different.
Before, I was one of the biggest naysayers, expecting to hate this phone and wait for something next. But I'm hooked. I may need to see a professional. Or we could form a meeting. Who's coming with me?

We the people in IRC don't think you're worthy to call it a 3VO.
E3D is much better.

It's kinda crazy but either you see the 3D or you don't. My wife has a really hard time picking it up but the 3D snaps right into focus for me. I love to take pics with my DSLR but now I'm looking at things and seeing what would be interesting to capture in 3D. I initially thought I wouldn't use it much but I've been pleasantly surprised and will use it a lot more often.
The 3D pictures taken by the EVO 3D look absolutely amazing on a 3D TV. While I think the display on the phone looks great in both modes, seeing them in full resolution on a large TV really makes the depth shine.
I have no problem seeing the display in 3D - I made it almost half an hour in to Green Hornet before I got sick of the movie itself. I look forward to more games and movies, but until then, I will spend a lot of time taking 3D pictures of everything, because it looks so cool.

I think the difficulty some people have with seeing it is that first, if you hold closer than 12 inches, it is very difficult (almost impossible) to see the 3D effect. Second, you actually have to make your eyes focus beyond the screen, which just does not come easy for some people.
I totally agree with the OP, I was always like 3D? whatever I'm getting it for the processor and battery and screen res. But the 3D part is actually really cool, and more exciting than I thought; I'm sold on it. it will definitely be the future of all things visual, I think sooner rather than later.
they just need to figure out better viewing angles for TVs and computer screens for glasses free, and it'll be 3D everything.

Not hating at all but I was expecting some 3d effects that I might not have seen yet. Unless it is something with some great pop out effects, Avatar is definetly the one to beat right now for 3d depth and quality.
That is a video that will make you appreciate the 3d of the EVO.

i dont know how you guys get such nice pics, this is my second dna and even though i love this phone, the camera for me sucks, worst camera for me i feel like its a VGA camera. Any pic i take looks pixelated especially if you try n zoom in, its terrible. Both DNA's i had were the same issues with camera i dont know what is up with it lol

Same for me. The pics look fine on the camera but zoomed in or on a PC they all look grainy.
Could it be a setting, maybe they are too big and don't translate well on lower res?

Yea some people got hurt in the stands. Those car are really moving, and you feel it when standing next to the track. Kinda scary having a car 3ft from you go by at 200mph.
