You need custom kernel. But dont have any custom kernel to work with JB what you can overclock.
Enviado do meu GT-I9300

use an o/c kernel.....no I won't suggest one
Go to development and read

As far as im aware omega 23 is custom stock rom. JB ect.
to unlock overclocking you would need a a new boot.img withunlocked overclocking
that wont be out for JB roms until the source is released.
You would have to install a earlier rom if you want to use a costom boot.img with unlock overclock.

What Kernel does that ROM come with? Is it the STOCK kernel? If so, you CANNOT overclock the STOCK kernel at all and can only overclock CUSTOM Kernels that have that ability built into them.
More info from you is needed...

It seems the JB Rom from Omega doesnt have this overclocking unlocked

there won't be any o/c kernels until Samsung release their source code after jb official release

[Q] How to overclock stock ROM? SetCPU shows max as 600

I recently rooted my O1 using Ginger break. It rooted successfully. Now when I installed SetCPU (which I downloaded frm xda), it shows the maximum freq as 600MHz. I am on stock ROM and don't plan to change it before seeing the official Gingerbread release. I just want to know if it is possible to overclock on the stock ROM using SetCPU or any other tool.

Install a custom recovery and flash a custom kernel (such as franco). Do not ask how, covered in multiple places.
AFAIK the stock rom doesn't allow for overclocking.

As already said above in my post (and also in my signature), overclocking is a matter of kernel and not of ROM.

ICS kernel sources have still not been released. So I guess you might have to wait till sources are released so that dev can start work on custom kernels.
Hope this answers ur question

[Q] should i must have to change the kernel if i change the ROM?

hi guys,
i wanna ask you senious guys that, should i have to change the kernel each time if i want to change the ROM of my galaxy s II or any kernel will work with any ROM?
kindly assist me in this matter.thanks.
What type of Rom are you trying to flash?
Most custom roms include a kernel so you you will have to refresh back to your preferred kernel.
Or you can open the zip file and replace the kernel of your choice as long as it matches your firmware version, ie GB kernel for a GB rom etc.

any kernel may not work with any ROMs...almost all samsung firmware versions has got its own versions of Kernel.
In SGS2 normaly custom kernels are used for rooting your phone, like CF-root, whcih are made for almost all the samsung firamware matched kernels, you only want to pick the one matching for your ROM.
It is also seen sometimes advised to back up your Kernel, this can be done using a tool from Market called "Ktool", at a worst scenario, when your installed custom kernel giving you a treble you can restore the previous one.
EDIT : you are already on a custom ROM as well as Custom Kernel. both have got their newer versions alredy.
checkrom is now on V6, and Siyah kernel is now on v2.6.14
Well your still on gingerbread and an early kernel and early checkrom. There are many roms and kernels you can try the best for battery life us what works best for you and only you can figure that out with testing.
Try out an ICS Rom if you haven't done so already and there are now custom kernels for that as well.

On xda there are many roms with included kernels. Resurrection Remix v1.1 is my personal favorite ICS rom at this moment, with stock kernel battery life is very good. Just search on xda

I meant the kernel that is already included with the rom when you flash it. So just flash the rom and you don't need to install another kernel after it.
Here is a link to the Resurrection rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1436854
Hope this helped you
If you flash a rom it replaces the kernel you've been using with that of the rom you're flashing...
Soooo
Eg cm9 + siyah
If you flash a new nightly it'll replace siyah with cm9s kernel so you have to flash siyah each time.
Think that makes sense..!

[Q] Overclocking kernel

So any adviced Kernel that will work on my phone to overclock? Currently SetCpu only allows me to underclock :/.
Thanks in advancee
N. B: I DONT OWN A MEMORY CARD IN CASE ITS NEEDED TO FLASH A KERNEL
check the development section for compatible kernels. all of them allow OC

I use Googy Max 1.7.9.
Click on it in my signature, it will send you to the download page.
Yank 1.6g kernel is very good it allows you overclock to 1.6GHz and good battery life
Most custom kernels allow you to overclock, I would recommend googy max. It really boosted the performance of my s3
