[Q] Xperia S: App drawer lags terribly Apex/Nova/Go launcher - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Is it just me or anyone else? I experience terrible lags in app drawer scrolling in all Apex/Nova/Go launchers. Trebuchet launcher is flawless without any lag. I dont know what could be the reason behind this despite the awesome hardware our phone has.
It happens for me in CM9 official and Stock ROM too.
Can anybody please give some input on this? Is there a solution at all?

I use Apex Launcher on mine and it's fine for speed. Tried a reinstall?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Yes they are laggy as hell. GO Launcher was really fast but after last few updates app drawer is choppy.
But, there is a solution, find Cyanogen launcher, Trebuchet. I've used it on Cyanogenmod but now I'm using it on stock rom and it works flawless.
Typing from my phone so I'll provide links a bit later.
Cheers

Either people cannot recognize choppy graphics or Sony made different versions of Xperia S for different markets.
It is choppy, even with a stock launcher (not always but it does happen) l.
The term "butter smooth" should be used by ones who actually have oportunity to compare it either to iOS or Nexus

Compared with a Galaxy Nexus (Had one).

I must say that running the .45 firmware and the beta version of apex launcher which is you can get from their site or download in the advanced menu of the app. The phone is running amazingly smooth. I think it's a combination of both but especially after the latest firmware that the phone is flying.

Novo and apex is smooth. Go launcher lags for a split second when opening app drawer

So is it just your app drawer scrolling? How is your home screen scrolling? How many pages of apps do you have?
It seems strange if you lag is just restricted to the app drawer

Plus its free and offers much more functionality than other launchers.
It even supports some absurdly high number of home screens (it 'was' 30 but I dont know if they reduced this or not).
Offers everything you are looking for + the ability to hide apps (useful for those of us who havent gotten around to rooting / debloating yet) and has a pretty low memory footprint. Has alot of features other paid launchers have too.

I don't troll, lol. I just gave my opinion that I like that one, . There was one of the guys/girls testing AOSP files on sense, they pulled them from the AOSP roms for the sensation, most seemed to work fine, so you could probably grab the AOSP launcher from that and give it a try, should work since I doubt it's name rosie.

Out if all the launchers I've tried on this phone and previous phones. My favorite was ADW EX. Since owning the Amaze I can't steer away from Sense. I like the widgets and things. I know its just personal preference but everytime I use other launchers I can't set up my screens like I do with Sense. Once we have AOSP or any CM then I will probably change it up. Best Android Launcher?

Hey guys..
I was just wondering whats the BEST android launcher in your opinion?
My personal favorite is Zeam Launcher. I like its minimalistic look and its blazing fast too. It does not have any fancy features and it works great.
I also like Holo Launcher. I am still on Gingerbread so the Holo Launcher is a very appealing choice for me to try out because it is an ICS launcher. Holo Launcher works great and is one of my favorite. It has a lot of cool features but for some reason.. I keep finding myself going back to Zeam.
So guys... Whats your favorite android launcher?

Hey mate... I have actually tried this and I would agree with you that it is probaly the fastest launcher I have ever seen. However, it is not for everyone because their is only ONE home screen.
It may be fast but with only one home screen... its severely limited and putting apps on the home screen can sometimes screw up the grid. You just have to a little bit careful when you are placing or moving apps. Otherwise, its a great launcher.
Thanks for reminding me about this app mate...

Hmm... it seems like an impressive app but it seems more like a homescreen customizer. It is a also a whopping $16.80 in the Google Play store... hopefully its a typo but if its not... it seems awfully high for an app.
I have been recently wondering...
What's the fastest launcher?
Lightening Launcher is blazing fast but is there anything faster??
I have purchased tsf ui .. awesomely fast but take huge amount of ram. Nearly 45mb while others take 10-15mbs.

And 45mb is low for an eye candy app.

Apex launcher is the best. If your phone is rooted than you can use Titanium backup pro to convert the Apex Launcher apk to the SYSTEM APP and it will work perfectly fine and faster...

Used since ICS Nova for my old S1 and for my new S3. Changed some weeks ago for TSF Shell.. Costs around ten bucks I think, but has several nice features (I love the folder option) and works flawlessy on S3 with livewallpaper. Doesn't suck so much battery as thought...
Personally I like the AOSP Launcher
The CM10 Trebuchet Launcher
Apex & Nova
As for TouchWizz the launcher isn't the problem, it's the ridiculous amount of crap that comes with it that slows down the device, well that and I can't move the Menu button to the middle like Stock Jelly Bean
But to be honest it's all down to personal taste, I prefer the Google Experience cause I use most of their apps, I have 0 time for the Samsung experience stuff. I mean seriously S-Voice over Google Now
For now i use Nova Prime. But from what little i have used TW in JB roms i will be using TW when official rom comes out.
But in the end it is all up to you!

Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about trying Nova again lately. I haven't tried that since my Atrix 4G which was 3 phones ago.
Truth be told, apex and nova are functionally identical if comparing paid versions. Apex will run better on some phones, nova on others, so it's just a matter of determining which will work best for your phone.
I use Action Launcher, personally.

I switched to Nova simply because it was definitely smoother than Apex and Holo on my AHD. It could also depend on your clock speeds. Holo is too sluggish with my GPU underclocked to 320 while Nova remained smooth.

The app drawer button in the top right feels so natural. And the added room because the dock is gone is so nice for full sized widgets. It just looks clean.
