[Q] Google Now Voice - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the SGS 3 on the xxdli6 rom currently.
Does anyone know how to change the Google Now Voice in the SGS3 to the Voice on the Nexus 7?
Other than that, Google Now's been working perfectly.

Ivona is one of the better Text-To-Speech alternative I've come across

If you guys are tired of the robotic TTS voice for our phones, you guys should try this app out. It's awesome. I use Amy UK voice. Sounds sexy lol. So far it works for google nav, EVA voice assistance, Iris, any other app that uses the phones built in TTS. IVONA can be found in the Market and require downloading selected voice to your phone.
I think I found out about this app via Androidspin tweet.
I like the Svox Classic TTS myself, with the Victoria UK, but to each their own I guess. It's just nice to know there are alternatives to the robot.

I've just tried Svox. Is there any free UK voices? It seems all the voices you have to pay for.

I have been using this same setup for some time now.
Have really enjoyed it so far, and a nice change to the stock voice.
Well worth the money.

Whoever has CM10 nightly installed, please test microphone?

I kind of need microphone to talk to my family over Skype, and JB is much smoother then ICS.
I was wondering if anyone with CM10 nightly on TF201 could install any voice recording app, record something and play back to see if it records digital garbage or if it work as expected.
Thanks!!!

I am on CM10 nightlies and my microphone didn't work. I tested it with skype and google voice. All I got was electronic distortion.
Then I tried the voice search in dolphin browser and now it works...
Still got the green camera (failed under stock rom) issue.

New voice engine issues

HTC HD2 American Android 2.3 just installed a new TTS engine IVONA to replace the stock PICO. Works great but I can't get it to work for my stock GPS app. Works for Google books and Google translate but not NAV. Any help appreciated thanks.

[Q] Google Now Launcher Problem.

With the new update, is anyone else having issues when playing music?
When playing music before the new update, it would disable the voice recognition as long as music was playing, but now it doesn't disable the recognition. With the recognition still on it makes the music cut in and out when ever you press anything on the launcher or lock the screen or open an app.

I'm so glad I found your post, I couldn't find anything on the Internet.
I've got exactly the same problem using the last Temasek ROM (Temasek-CM11-v41-W03Tweaks-v1.11-t0lte) on my Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7105.

I've got the problem on Cyanogenmod 10.2 and 11 on the HTC Evo 3D. A workaround is just to keep your music app open before locking your device to listen.

I've found another workaround : completely disabling "hotword detection" in Google Now settings. I didn't use that feature anyway...

Disabling the "Hotword Detection" did it for me.
My setup:
Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-I9300 International with Temasek's Unofficial CM11 (Android 4.4.2)
(I had the same problem since the first day I installed this build)
