Hi. Is there an easy to understand tutorial for flashing an HTC Titan device with a custom ROM. I am looking for a video or a picture step by step tutorial.
I flashed my Samsung Omnia 7 before, but that was ease in comparison to flashing an HTC Titan.
I have a German HTC Titan (Model ID is PI39110; FCC ID: NM8PI39110) but I do not know if flashing "[DFT] HSPL for HTC WP7 Second Generation" is going to work and I am afraid to be not able to deal with possible errors. dragonide wrote a good step-by-step instuction (Post #46), but I am still not shure if I can do this - but, I would like to flash my Titan.
Also I am not shure whether I need a GoldCard or an USB Y-Cable. I just have a normal USB cable to connect a smartphone with a PC.
Can someone please help me or give me first hints?

In that post is all what do you need. Only one question: What currently you have a version of the SPL? If you have 2.5 version it's ok, but if you have 2.6 you have to do downgrade SPL with y-cable. My bootloader version is 2.5.160015.3 (see above, I updated/edited my post).
That means, I just have to follow all steps of dragonide's instruction?
Can I instead of the ROM "DFT Eternity 24 langs Freedom V1 Pearl Edition.7z" use the "HTC Titan; Dynamics7 1.21 ROM"?
Or could this be a problem with this instructions?
Just one question: Do I have to update the radio driver for my device?

There is no need y-cable. For version 2.6 or 4.x simply flash older ROM with version 2.5 (eg IMG_Eternity_HTC_Europe_2.05.401.01_Radio_Signed_16.23.06.10_16.32.00.23_ETERNITY_RELEASE)

Really ? I think it can not be done this way (get error) but I don't tried.
Anyway, @rittergig have SPL 2.5 version - can install HSPL and any customROM.
Thank you guys. I flashed my HTC Titan successfully. Now I am free and up to date with the Dynamics7 v1.21 ROM.
I documented my procedure by photos and I would like to publish this as tutorial.
Do you know if updates to Windows Phone 7.8 Refresh with this ROM are possible? Or do I need to restart again?

Hey, my Friend had buy an unlock HTC Hero (germany).
Now, we has root already, but he is not the guy that change every week his rom like me^^. So, we have load this Rom on the Hero. But he can't call!!! He can answer call's but not call! Any idea's?
I would just reflash the ROM and the latest radio to be safe.

So i decided to post here since it is also related to flashing ROM.
I can't wait anymore for HTC to release its '2.1 with sense' update for my HTC Hero. I read an article today that they are pushing the update date (yet again) to May and also that not all features of 2.1 will make it to Hero. So I decided to go the 'Rebels' way & root my device.

Currently on AIRTEL network. It is not carrier locked. Works with SIM card from other networks too.
What I've done so far:
I downloaded Android SDK. I have successfully rooted my phone & have recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img as my recovery image. I did a nandroid backup. I also updated my radio to 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26. I just finished downloading Villain 5.02 ROM for Hero.
On starting the device with holding POWER+BACK (Fastboot) i see three android robots on skateboards. And following info is displayed on the screen:
HERO CVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.76.007 (HERO10000)
MICROP-010f
TOUCH PANEL-SYN0104
RADIO-6.35.09.26

So is 1.76.007 the SPL of this phone? Do I need to update it or do anything at all? Will it interfere with flashing custom ROMS?
So by the above info, can anybody please tell me whether my phone is qualified to be flashed with Villain 5.02 ROM without any problems? Do I need to do anything more before going ahead with flashing the custom ROM?
you have done everything right so far, and are good to go. villain5.1 is being uploaded as we speak, so if you can wait a few more minutes you get a more stable version...

Villain doesn't give MD5 checksum for his downloads. When i tried to unzip it on my PC (i know it is not needed, but just out of curiosity i unzipped it) WinRar told me that the zip archive is corrupt. I'm downloading BeHero 1.3.2 (he gives MD5 checksum, so integrity of file can be checked before flashing)
Do you see any problem with the SPL? Does it not have any bearing on flashing ROM. It didn't interfere with "recovery-RA-hero-v1.6.2.img" image update & Radio update. So am I to assume that it won't interfere with ROM flash as well?

sir, the only thing you need is a radio >2.08 and you have it.!!!.so just copy the android folder from your favourite build on your sd cardand run it , thats all you do

Is there any reason why m-deejay`s stuff wont`t work on my HD2? I have upgraded to the latest update that HTC has provided, but i can`t seem to boot any of his builds. JDMS, on the other hand, is working fine.
Anyone have an idea?

It's strange. I have test Latest Stock ROM 3.14 (without HSPL) and tested at the same way a Android build from m-deejay (Desire HD build) without problems.
The only thing I can imagine is that you didn't remove HSPL; this cause limitation of available program memory!
No, that is sadly not the case. HSPL has never been installed on my phone Guess I will try a couple more times.

install EBL loader or jmd dual boot cab in winmo.........you will get a bootscreen at power on, to select between winmo or android

With the latest stock rom (3.14) you can't change your spl version!

i dont think there is a 1.66 rom for india..it was directly updated from 1.48 to 3.14

friends i think i wasted my time on WP7.. i have unlocked all functions expect the sound enhancer app by HTC.. without this WP7 is a waste,, The sound quality is not pleasing..but i agree the UI is superb..but for this i cant make my phone a useless.. Would installing this rom downgrade the SPL? Im trying to flash the new DFT hspl for my radar and the 2.05 SPL they include isnt flashable via RUU. Is there another way to downgrade the SPL maybe with an alternative .nbh or RUU package?
Are you going to start working on custom Radar roms now that second gen Windows phones are hacked?
Have you seen the new wp7.8 update that is coming? Its adding resizable home tiles! I believe its only availabe for current 2nd gen wp devices.

I suppose anything's is possible. It 7.8 is still the same windows CE kernel. Wp8 is going to use windows NT kernel, what windows 7 and 8 PC is based off of :d!
Right now I am living abroad and don't have a credit card so the materials required for the gold card method aren't easily available compared to when I lived 5 min from a radio shack. I just have to wait patiently for a RUU that includes the TMOUS Omega.

I want to ask a question. For the Tmous Omega, when you flash to stock rom, do you have to use Goldcard method? I downloaded a stock rom from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094366
And I used some RUU update utilities I had downloaded before with this rom and it starts to flash the stock rom but stops at 5 %. Now actually it seems the phone doesn't boot anymore to windows and just boots back to the bootloader. Any ideas?

Your request contains two inconsistent conflicting statements. You need to install HSPL to flash ANY custom rom. No-one is able to fulfill your request because it's impossible.
Start playing with goldcard trying to downgrade spl or forget custom roms.

I've tried it but it wont flash the spl tough but the radio and rom flashed
I have tried the goldcard method with no success, so I guess I will have to wait until dft or somebody else makes a hspl that can be used with spl 2.6

I flashed the SPL 2.6 from the HTC website too, but I have a custom ROM on my phone right now.
Make sure you try all cable configurations on the GoldCard method. I had to use one that wasn't the same as the picture to get it to work. And also make sure you have the right kind of SD card or Flash Drive. For some reason, HTC Second Gen has been having some kind of problem with the types of cards that work with GoldCard...
