[Q] Android and the docking stations - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there!
I'm kind of looking into buying a docking station for my g nexus and I came up with some questions.
The general purpose for me would be to play music with a high quality. So, how does this work for the androids? Is it possible to connect the device via usb and play the music over it? Most of the docks I saw seemed to use Bluetooth to play the music and had the usb port only for charging the phone, if they even had any.
Is it possible to control the phone (e.g. skip a track, choose another track...) via bluetooth or does it only play the music and you have to control everything on the phone itself?
Final questions: Any suggestions on good hardware?
Thanks to everyone,
Harper

[Q] Play audio on Android through USB ipod dock/receiver/etc?

Hey all,
I'm wondering if it's possible to play audio on my Android devices (SSG Note 2, TF701, etc) through an ios enabled USB receiver? Specifically, my car has a usb port meant to plug in an ipod/iphone to stream music. It seems only to work with ios devices. Is there anything I can do on the phone/tab to spoof the ios and thus play audio in my car via the USB? The stereo does have bluetooth but I'm really looking to use this for videos to eliminate lag.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

[Q] Choose different audio outputs

Hey.
I just bought Philips AS141 (Docking- /Clock- station) and hooked it up with my Galaxy S 4 (via bluetooth), works great. However I'd like to be able to play only the alarms through the docking station but still be able to watch (and hear ) movies locally on my phone. Is this even possible? I've been searching all evening for an application or setting like this.
I hope you understand what I'm after and could really need help! Thanks in advance

Samsung shape multiroom wireless speakers

I bought the samsung shape multiroom wireless speakers, they don't support google music yet, which I know but now spotify is also broken (I guess due to the recent hack) so I was wondering if there was anyway to stream music to them via an alternative means. I have tried several upnp/dlna apps but they don't appear to work or I just don't know how they work. Is there anyway I can use them to stream audio to them (not using bluetooth)

Tablet car integration. Is this possible?

Hi fellow android friends,
I have an older car with a big radio slot. I thought about integrating an android tablet there and connect it to the car stereo, but I have some questions if some features would be possible.
Basically I want to pair my phone to the tablet via bluetooth to mainly stream music to it. But I also want navigation (Google Maps) which I could simply use by creating a hotspot from my phone automatically when it's connected via bluetooth to the tablet. Also I want Call integration. So that I can start, answer and end calls I get on my phone from my tablet. I would set up a microphone in the car for better quality.
Is this possible? If so, how? With specific apps? Or flashing Android Auto somehow to the tablet?

You can't output music over USB, you could (if your phone supports it) put the phone into USB storage mode and browse it like it was a memory stick and play music via an app on the headunit. Alternatively you can stream music via BT or you can out put from the headphone jack (if equipped) to the Aux Input of the headunit.
