[Q] Vibrate when call answered? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had this feature on various phones and roms, but can't seem to find anything for the S3. Anyway to enable this?
I was using CallVibrate but that no longer works. In fact it seems the SGS3 isn't supported any more.
Or perhaps there's a way to get Tasker to accomplish this? That'd be better than using another app.
Any ideas?

Hmmmm never heard of this problem as my GS3 always vibrates when answered. Im on Stock Leaked JB LI7 Firmware Rooted and not having a problem with it at all mate.

Ahhh... once I read that you didn't have that problem, I went deep, deep into the settings, and although I thought I looked everywhere, I didn't hit the call settings menu under the stock dialer. There's an option for setting call alerts and I saw it there.
Thanks for the feedback. I can rest in peace now I've been on every single leaked JB release and I've never had it work!

Glad you got it all sorted now mate

Phone calls - Number Pad Usage

I did a search and couldn't find anything. I don't frequent these boards either so if anyone has reported this problem, please direct me to the right post...
I am using Community Rom 1.3 with the Nitro Honeycomb 4.3 theme.
I am having a problem to where when I call a phone number that uses touch tones to select options. Example: Press 1 for English...etc. Pressing the number on the number pad does not do anything. I've tried normal and speaker mode.
Anyone else experiencing this problem or know of a fix?
Thank you!!
I know it worked when I had my old cell phone but I haven't used my Fascinate that way yet. I checked the Settings - Call Settings and found a setting for DTMF tones. Maybe it would help to set it to the Long option? Good luck!
Hey, I just Googled and found this:

Using the same setup, my keypad works just fine. The keys don't make any noise (I have touchtones turned off), but was able to make my selections without issue

Changing the DTMF to "Long" worked great! I should have thought of that. I really appreciate the reply.

[Q] Not Able to Answer Call in Lock

I been having issues with answering my phone. Seems like on just about all Roms this happens: When I get a call it shows the screen for when I am in a call, with only the end call button showing. Phone rings normal, but I am unable to answer. This only happens in lock mode. Works fine while the phone isnt locked. Someone told me it was due to Mr. Number. Well I havent used Mr. Number in a long time. Sorry if this was previously answered. Thank you.

Answer Calls by Lift to Ear?

Hi, just a simple question, is it possible to answer calls by automatically lifting the phone towards your ear? (Similar to that of calling someone by placing the phone near your ear in the messaging app)
Sorry if this has already been asked. I am unable to find a similar thread as suggested by the forum
Thanks in advance!
No, you cant. not really a good solution either, Answering your calls in your pocket when walking etc...
Would be a nice feature.

You could try to use Tasker. I've seen people mimic smart call with it so might be able to use similar thing but for answering an incoming call?

Ah, great. Thank you. Not easy to find actually.
Proximity Talk does exactly that. put the phone to your ear and it answers the call. It can also turn on speaker automatically when you move it away from your year, take out speaker automatically when you put the phone back to your year, and also hang up calls just by putting the phone face down... try it by downloading it in the play store
thanks for the responses, I'll make sure to try them out later. Cheers!

[Q] Call initiated vibration heard by the other side

Hi,
I've recently bought a MKT6577 Galaxy 3 clone - HDC S9380.
The phone is running on Jelly Bean 4.1.1
Whenever I'm making an outgoing call there is a call connected vibration when the call is picked up by the other side, the feature is nice, but the problem is that the person I'm calling is able to hear this vibration in their phone. Is there a way to disable this vibration, or delay the microphone initiation?
I already tried changing all the sound and vibration settings in the phone without any success.
Thanks for help
any ideas?

Have you gone to Phone app->Menu->Settings and looked there? There should be an option. I have it on CyanogenMod, I don't know if it's there in stock ICS or not.

Moonguy75 - there is no way to contact the developer of the rom, it's a "stock" rom on Chinese phone
Is it possible to somehow modify the phone.apk, to disable this vibration?

XZ1 text arrival noise

Hi, I searched this forum and youtube to no avail. I cannot see any setting to make a text message have a sound when it arrives. At the moment I just get a buzz. I went to settings on the phone for texts and all it shows is notifications as on. Even advanced settings has nothing saying sounds when texts arrive.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, yes. Whenever I get a text it only ever buzzes, I would like a sound like a ping. Thanks
Try clean flash to latest firm - if not work, maybe bad hardware.
