Don't get me wrong, I've had a good experience on Android and am going to miss a couple of things (customization, Transdroid, Swiftkey).
Anyone else jumping ship to the iPhone 5?
Try to not make this a hate thread. I am generally curious to see if anyone else is jumping ship or if you're staying with Android and a newer phone.
Its hard not to hate but to each their own. After discovering Android, there is no substitute or replacement.
I've seen similar threads started in other areas of XDA and the OP gets taken to the cleaners. You won't have to worry about that here. That is, as long as upteen different threads don't start up lol

why do you wanna make the switch? honestly if the dx2 is your first android phone, try a cheaper replacement (ie fascinate, dx, og droid) those phones arent anywhere as difficult as the x2. plus the og droid & fascinate have unlocked bootloaders and both are running jellybean so why leave the openness and fully user customization of android to the locked down, 'we know whats best for you' apple attitude?
I'm making a switch when the iPhone 5 comes out. My buddy is foolish and is selling me his g nexus for 100 so he can get an iPhone 5.

I don't see why anyone would go apple. No customization ,no external memory ,basically bland apple and worst of all you only get what daddy apple says you can have.

Whoa Mozilla labs has plans to build their own OS based on android. Its just a concept right now but its crazy to see how far technology could go. The original article was on gizmodo but I thought id share since were all bored and arguing around here anyways. I looked for this before I posted it and couldn't find anything similar in the 3D section.

That video has been around for a while but the news about them building an OS using Android is new. Sounds like a UI on top of Android to me though.

Ahhh yeah does sound like a custom UI sort of like sense but the article said they arent adopting java; could be interesting. I know im late i barely found that video lol.
If that thing was ever built, it'd be the most expensive smartphone that has ever existed, haha.
Can't imagine the battery life on that thing.
I saw that about a year ago and I don't think we are much closer to it being realistic. It looks amazing but I think we are years away from anything close to that.

Damn its that old lol sheesh; yeah battery life would probably be god awful, you'd need a backup generator in your house to keep it going lol. @buckley im sure it would at least be 1000 at minimum.

Although they don't have the same sensor technology for typing and stuff, you have been able to order phones with built in PICO projectors from overseas forever. I own a Pico projector seperately and it is awesome. Not much bigger than the 3VO. Well, like 3 times thicker, but can fit in your pocket.
Again, they've been making them for years overseas, so why the have to pretend being able to project your phones screen on to the wall is some future concept is silly. I know it has a lot more features than that, so it is a concept phone. But I just think it's interesting that projector part has such a wow factor when they are made everyday.

I stirred up a **** storm in another sgs2 vs evo3d thread that was closed. To a few angry Evo owners I pissed off.
I guess i should of clarified myself when i said dev support doesnt make or break a phone. 100 devs vs 10 devs means nothing if 90 out your 100 devs suck. I'd rather have 10 awesome roms than 100 mediocre ones. In the end most of them ARE THE SAME. If it isn't built from the ground up like cm7 its all gonna be based off the same SOURCE. So what is having giant dev support worth? Quality over quantity. No offense to the devs. I went in there to troll because of the Evo owners that feel they have a larger **** than the rest of us, not the ones that love they're phone but aren't sheepish enough to admit when something else is better. I love my epic but I KNOW in the end the evo3d is a better device, but to me not by much and that's AFTER Modding. Coming in here and providing facts does nothing for the air heads. So what better way to get their attention than troll and piss them off? There are a million Evo owners out there that are displeased with your beloved Evo 3ds performance. Don't believe me? Google. My buddy doesn't understand why my epic finishes quadrant and smartbench 2010 faster than his e3d with only marginal gains in numbers. Yea benchmarks don't matter, then why do so many people use them and pay close attention to them? The fact is the gs2 IS a better phone and is the first next gen dual core phone to give us.. (wait for it..) NEXT GEN PERFORMANCE!!! if you don't know its because you havent played with one yet. I have. And its ****ing amazing. When I played with it, I felt like I was using something much better than what I currently had. When I play with the Evo I feel like I'm playing with every dual core phone released before the sgs2. All providing mediocre performance gains despite the huge jump in hardware. I feel my epic performs equal to or at worse a bit slower than most of the dual core phones ive played with for christs sake. If you don't realize which phones better between the e3d and the gs2, your in denial. When I say better, I don't mean your personal experience, I mean an over all consensus. And currently, the sgs2 is much better. I think so. And so does the rest of the world.
Just wanted to make a point. Someone please close this thread quick.

So I'm coming off of a mytouch 4g, and just ordered an amaze off eBay today. So I was just curious why there seems to be such little development on a seemingly very popular phone? I'm am not nagging or complaining in any way, just generally curious. I'm pretty excited about this phone and it's potential. I'm also hopefull that we will get some CM love. So maybe some one can fill me in. I feel like I had the mt4g Dec thread down to a.science, but I have no clue what's going on here

seach through this general thread, it been asked once or twice so you will have plenty of answers in there. there are also a few bounty threads going to get some good developers an Amaze, so if u r fortunate enough to be able to u can donate to them to help pick up development

Sign up for their online MOTODEV Office Hours on Febuary 15th, you can write in a question to ask, I'd suggest asking about the Razr "Developer Edition" and why we must purchase a second device unlock the bootloader when it can be done with a simple software upgrade instead. We were promised them in late 2011 and have heard nothing.

Burning Moto means no software bootloader unlock, or hardware. Bad idea. Also illegal and immortal
Waste of time. If they cared about their customers, they'd have unlocked awhile ago. They don't and they won't. RAZR is my last MOTO phone....I'm sooooo done with them....they blew it bad.

Thank you for your support. The only waste of time here is you trying to stop the growing #OPMOSH movement with negativity. The only way this movement will make a difference is if people actually try and get this done. Whining about this being your last Motorola phone has gotten 0 replies from Motorola.

yes. I got that from the article. I was just surprised, especially in light of the whole apple/samsung fiasco, to see a phone from HTC that has such a strong resemblance to an iphone lol.

What do you guys think about google glass? Ive used a pair a few times, someone at the university has one. I think they are pretty sweet to be honest. But I keep reading this crazy reviews about how people are going to be using it for "always on" video recording, discreet photos, surveillance..
And then there are the people who think its going to cause car accidents, promote inattention, etc. Others are complaining about the cost (which isn't even released yet) or the lack of apps (again.. not released..)
I don't understand the constant "doom and gloom" outlook the general population and the media have on this. 90% of their information is plain wrong, and the other 10% is misinterpreted..

There are definitely a lot of people I classify as the "haters gonna hate" category.
half the people using the material strictly for trolling content wake up everyday reading every article in anticipation of getting a pair. But they enjoy having something to troll about and its fuel for the keyboard gangsters.
