[Q] how to buy a galaxy s3 in korea - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello, I would say how to buy a galaxy SHV-E210K in korea from italy, and if it can be used here. thanks a lot

easiest would be having some contact in korea who can buy it for you. if you're desperate enough like some iphone user who bought iphone 5 from australia, you can go korea and buy one.
otherwise, i'd say just wait for the intl lte version to be released. they have the same specs. probably the safer option too if you want any kind of after service

Chinese Samsung Galaxy S II

My sister is in Shanghai on China Mobile, and she found a deal on a gs2 out there.
However in Canada she uses TELUS, which uses hspa on frequency bands 850/1900 mhz. TELUS does NOT use GSM. She wants to be able to use it in Canada too.
I was doing some Googling and I found that the China Mobile gs2 uses a different technology for their 3G but I'm not 100% sure.
Does anyone know more about this? Please let me know, thank you.

there are 3 types of phone sold in China
Korean version (with the stuff for korean tv, nfc etc)
European version
and Hongkong version.
they advice chinese customer to buy the hongkong version if in the future china get the 4G. they say the european version wont work for it.
that's all I can tell you, I'm dumb with all the technical stuff
Oh really! That is helpful tho, thank you.

[Q] Wal-Mart's Family Mobile with Galaxy S2 from T-mobile?

Hey everyone, I was looking to buy the Galaxy S2 from T-mobile, but I'm retarded and I don't know if Family Mobile, a Wal-mart Carrier powered by T-mobile, would work on the Galaxy S2 from T-mobile.
It might seem like a common sense question, and I think it really is. It's just that I don't know anything about phones, and I was told the smartest people on the internet for Android phones/programming post here.
Better ask the seller..

[Q] Will a Galaxy S2 from Europe work in Australia?

Hey guys,
I lost my phone in Paris around 3 weeks ago while I was on a group tour of Europe. I am still waiting for my tour manager to send me a lost property form (as the French police wouldn't give me a lost/stolen report within 24 hours) and want to buy another phone. I am in London at the moment and am looking to buy a new Galaxy S2. I was wondering if all Galaxy S2s are the same – as I want it to work on the Vodafone network in Australia (Melbourne). I'm guessing I am likely to find a GT-I9100 (and not a GT-I9100T, as I had previously).
So the question is, will any Galaxy S2 work on the Vodafone network in Australia or do I have to buy a specific model (i.e. GT-I9100T)?
Thanks,
Jack.
Should do, yes. Will have to be unlocked to work on Australian networks though.
if both are gsm and if its unlocked ,then yes.
just go for the international version of i9100 , you should be ok.
since you are buying an international model with (non carrier locked) should work with any networks, no need of any unlocking.
I can confirm the opposite worked for me, lost my phone due to a night out in Melbourne on the Absinthe, bought a new phone out there and used it back in the UK after getting it unlocked no problems (On Telstra in Aus > T-Mobile UK)
But as others have said, fairly sure most models you get here are unlocked due to the international model.
Are you going to buy from somewhere like Carphone Warehouse/shop, or eB*y? You can get sGS2 off there for £260-£280 at the minute.
Why don't you wait two weeks and buy the s3!?

Best unlocked Samsung Galaxy series phone

Okay gang, I need your help. I'm new to the android landscape (note was my first android device) and was asked by a good friend of mine to find her a phone.
She's looking for a Unlocked Samsung Galaxy series phone that she can use here in the US as well as be able to swap a sim card and use for service in Italy when she visits.
So two questions. What device do you all recommend, and where is the best place to procure it?
Thanks in advance!! I know this is a galaxy note forum, but couldn't think of a better group of folks to field these questions

Agreed. The unlocked Nexus $399.99 is the best choice for now.
Sent from my AT&T Galaxy Note™ - please forgive any typos
Here's a list of frequencies used by country:
http://allworldcellphones.com/gsm-frequencies-list.htm
Italy uses GSM 900 and 1800 frequencies which is supported by the International Note as well as the I717. I didn't see anything about LTE or HSDPA related figures, but I only looked for 3 min and clicked the first link.
My suggestion would be for her to determine what she wants in a phone. Does she want to take notes? does she want a small phone? As long as the phone has the proper frequencies, she would be able to use it in Italy. Most AT&T phones have the capability of running 800 and 1800 as well as many others, but verify by looking at the specs before buying. If she has a US carrier in mind (like AT&T) she can buy one of those subsidized and pay an unlock fee from a site (cheapest I've heard of was $8) and will probably save money.
If she wants to buy a phone outright I'd say look at the galaxy 2 series. From what I hear it's a great phone, a large community here (if she feels the urge to mod it) and can pick a new unlocked one for about 400.
Hope this helps a little.
any international unlocked phone will work. the international gs3 wouldnt be a bad bet. n7000 as well. you just wont have lte. I would not recommend an at&t direct phone because it will not be unlocked. so sim flipping could be an issue in italy.
International Galaxy Note, Galaxy Nexus, or wait for the Galaxy S3 to come out.
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke

[Q] Where to buy in Japan?

Does anyone know where you can buy the Galaxy S3 in Japan. Im looking for the unlocked international version.. Online shops and actual store locations would really be helpful.
Don't know where if your buying in person but for online orders that you want shipped internationally
http://www.kyoex.com/
Will have them at some point when they launch in japan they sell them unlocked and switched to English.
However there spec's and design appear like they will be the exact same as the US/Canadian varients with the snapdragon CPU and 2GBs of ram.

Sorry I realized I mis-read your post I thought you wanted the Japanese model shipped internationally lol.
If you want the international model sent to japan try http://www.expansys.jp/ they are selling the international version GT-I9300s rather than the custom ones that North America and Japan have ordered from Samsung.
